Adobe CS 5 - Printer spread left bleed missing

I have printer spreads and the bleeds on the top bottom and right show up perfectly, but the left bleed is not there -- anyone have any experience with this? He used Indesign for this project and he is not sure why the left bleed seems to be missing on pdf....
Any insight would be great....

I consider this a bug, and reported it as such, but I'm not sure the engineers concur.
What's happening is that print function doesn't have an "inside" bleed concept, and uses the only top, bottom, left and right values. Inside and Outside are mapped to Left and Right, respectively, and your 0 inside bleed becomes 0 left bleed. It's quite easy to correct, by the way, in the dialogs when you are making your print. Just click the Print Setup button in Print Booklet, then in the Marks and Bleeds section, UNCHECK Use Document Bleed Settings and manually enter a value for all four sides.

I want to change the "Default Setting" in the Adobe PDF (Distiller) printer's printing prefrences programatically. How can i do that?

Why? I don't know :-)
When I compare the documents (single page 'export' vs booklet-spreads 'print booklet') at 800%, the images on the 'export' are crisp. The images on the booklet are seriously pixellated/unreadable.
If it *is* possible to get print-ready, I'd love to!

Adobe Acrobat 7.0, 64 bit OS, & Warning 20225 for Adobe PDF Port Printer!

I've had adobe acrobat 7.0 for years, & just installed on my new toshiba m305-s4910 with a 64 bit operating system, & I'm unable to get the pdf printer to work.
Getting this error:
Warning 20225. Adobe Acrobat 7.0 setup was unable to create a new item: Adobe PDF Port Printer. The Adobe pdf printer may be unavailable.
GetLastError: the operation completed successfully.
Ha! No such luck!
acrobat 7.0 printer function doesn't work on my 64 bit os & I'm apparently not alone.
From what I can find online, this problem has been around for years, & still there's no fix!
Am I just missing something & there really is a fix out there?
If there is, in simple english terms & directions please, could someone please point it out?

Printer spreads in InDesign CS4 to PDF

I have created a 12-page booklet in InDesign CS4. My printer only has CS3 and says they can't open the InDesign file I sent them, even though I sent a .inx file (made from exporting the file as cs3). I sent them a press quality pdf and they said they cannot use that because it is not printer spreads.
Can I make a pdf of printer spreads? When I choose Print Booklet, I only get choices to print to my printer.

Whenever the words printer and do your own imposing are put together, my mind goes to full-service copy shops or digital printers.
I use "printers" like this all the time, and they basically use better printers than my office can afford and have a few other extras for folding and binding. It can be useful, but it isn't offset.
IF this is the type of printer you mean, imposing yourself isn't so unusual. They often aren't set up for that, or will charge extra.
I use print booklet to generate the PDF to whatever standard they need. (I sure miss InBooklet.)
Again, if it's a copy shop setup, a flattened PDF is the way to go, and perhaps even RGB (many copy shops don't have ripping software).

How To Create Printer Spreads PDF for Saddle Stitch Booklet?

I need to output a PDF in printer spread format for a saddle stitch booklet from InDesign.
After installing CS5 Master Suite on my upgraded Mac OS X 10.6.2 MacBook I can't figure out how to do that though.
Has anyone figured this out?

That's why I qualified it... "practically identical". Replace "Adobe PDF" with "Postscript File" and I found that it got me 90% of the way there so Eugene's point about it helping someone else with a similar need rang true in my case. I was already aware of the lack of the PDF Printer in SL, so that was moot detail for me. But that's the beauty of a an open forum IMO: even if you didn't find it helpful I don't think he should be discouraged or chastened for his effort because it helped me and could undoubtedly help others too.
Also, as an aside specific to the Adobe forums, even though I am not remotely as prolific a poster as some folks, I have frequently found resolutions to Mac questions in Windows threads and vice versa. Personally, I also don't find it terribly clear which flavor of a given software's forum I happen to be in when coming in cold from a Google search or the like... eg. Sure, one should read the OP thoroughly, but if you were just scanning and trying to help, simply looking at the top of this very thread there is quite literally no indication of whether this is a Mac or Windows InDesign question:
"I've seen this question asked many times for both Windows and Macs"... me too, and I think every bit of info to troubleshoot it and crowdsource solutions can only help. Even if we don't all have the luxury of dealing with "modern printers."

Adobe form not printing the values correctly...

I am developing a static hrform using adobe desingner. Below is my requirement :
EARNING..... | TAX......
ABSENCES..... | OTHER DED....
I have EARNING,ABSENCE section on left side and i moved this into a SUBFORM with content "FLOWED" direction "TOP TO BOTTOM".
On the right side, i have TAXES, OTHER DED and i moved this into a SUBFORM with content "FLOWED" direction "TOP TO BOTTOM".
These both sobform i have saved in my master subform with content "FLOWED" direction "Western Text".
This all worked fine till i have less contents in my EARNING section. If it have more line items (not fitting on one page) than it shows TAXES, OTHER DED on 2nd page right side.
My requirement is to print everything (left & right side) initially on first page and once this gets filled print the remianing on next pages.

I am trying to print on A-2 paper which is 5.5" x 8.5". On a Pro-100
I would like to print my image without any boarders - "edge to edge".
I am using a Mac and I am using Adobe Illustrator CC
It seems that my margins in the pre-set are off - the preview shows what I am printing, which looks correct - but when it prints the left side is getting cut off. Very strange.I re-set the margines to 0.3 but that gives me a boarder. I tried changing the paper type to boarderless - which changed everything.
Any adivice would be great.

Printing spreads question.

As an exercise, I copied my 11x17 folded brochure file and reformatted it into a 4 page 8.5x11 document to test some printing options.
I want to print pages 1 and 4, the front and back outside pages, together on a single 11x17 sheet. I selected print spread with range 4,1 but it prints (page 4 and a blank page) and (page 1 and a blank page) on two separate 11x17 pages apparently creating a spread by adding a blank page where there is no adjacent page. The range setting is ignored.
Is there a way to get InDesign to print any two pages on one sheet?

Print Booklet isn't very good at printing only selected spreads, so you might want to look at one of the scripts for imposition instead, or you could just do it manually for a four page doc. Start by creating a new section at page 4 and set the numbering to manual, start at 4. Now you can drag it to the left of page 1 and you'll have two spreads in the correct order.
If you've used automatic page numbering, though, you'll need to go back to the pages panel and start a new section again for page 1, or your document will show page numbers 4 through 7 instead of 4 and 1 through 3.
Or just use print booklet and print the whole thing to PDF, then print the selected spread to paper from Acrobat.

This is a new problem to me. Until a few days ago I printed emails with no trouble but now, some of them e.g points tallies from credit cards, hotel confirmations and suchlike, are only displaying and printing the left hand side of the messages. I am at a loss to know what is going on. Any ideas please!

With the previous version of iPhoto, I would import my photos and that batch would appear as an "event". I would then create albums in the "source list" and sort the imported photos into the appropriate album. This resulted in a list of albums in the source list, and an "event" that contained all the newly imported photos.
On migrating to the newest iPhoto, all the albums are there and complete, but many of the events have disappeared. My query was to find out if there was a way to recover the missing events.
If this is not possible, can iPhoto be reverted to the previous version?

Error message in Adobe Pdf in printer device panel when trying to create a pdf document. I have CS3 Web Premium with Acrobat Professional 8. I use it fine on my old computer with Windows XP. I recently got a new laptop with Windows 7. I installed all my Adobe programs, and I think they are working. When I look at Adobe PDF in the device section of the Control Panel it looks okay. But when I try to print a Word, Photoshop, or HTML page in PDF, nothing happens. I have tried printing both as File>print and using the PDF tab on the top menu bar. I look at the device in the control panel and it has the yellow error warning symbol and suggests trying to troubleshoot. I look at the document list and it says status "error". When I try troubleshooting Windows suggests doing some Home Sharing and also suggests canceling the document I'm trying to print. I tried re-installing just Acrobat 8 from CS3 (and have to use Photoshop CS4 disk for shared documents I guess). I ran into a can't locate adobepdf_dll file, so did a web search on this issue and found a suggestion that I find and use the adobepdf_dll_64 file and may have to (I did have to) remove the "_64" for it to work. I think I successfully reinstalled using that dll file- no errors came up anyway. But still when I try printing/converting a photoshop, webpage, or word document into pdf, the pdf device in control panel still gives the error status on the document and gives the same troubleshooting advice. Help?

I just compared the properties between the two computers. On the old computer it has the port as "My Documents/*.pdf". On my new computer it lists the port as "LPT1". I tried changing the port to "Print as File", but when I try printing a photoshop picture as pdf, I get a "Access Denied". I then tried to create a new port on the device control panel. I tried to create a local port "My Documents/*.pdf" port but was denied. I ten tried to create a new port type and control panel asked for an INF file. I wonder if this is where my problem lies. Thoughts?

How do I print separate book files into a printer spread saddle stitched document?

I have 6 separate files that are contained in a book in InDesign that are currently 8.5 x 11 pages (grand totaling 40 pages) which I would like to print all together in printer spreads, saddle stitched so that I end up with an actual book. How do I do this from InDesign?

Ask in the ID forum. Sheet layout/ print pagination is usually handled by other software and the RIP/ printer driver, but I'm sure there's some feature for that or a plug-in that can do it, I just never use this stuff since I too rarely use ID...

These two things need to be remedied in their upgrades because It's become such a bother I've had to revert to older versions of PS.

Yea, and it's a pain to get to. What was the rational for removing the print size button? With the magnifying glass tool selected in older versions of Photoshop you would get a button that says "print size" right next to Actual pixels, Fit Screen, Fill Screen. Now I have to go out of my way and dig for it if I want to see the print size. Of all the buttons you could have taken away, why not fill screen? I never use that.
Besides the point I just downloaded the Oct Upgrade for PS and surprise! Nothing has changed and these are two big black eyes on newer versions of Photoshop. The Brush preview window is unchanged in CC but in CC2014 it's basically worthless. If you apply a texture to a brush you can't properly see the scale of the texture, the spacing, scatter, etc...

The Adobe CreatePDF Desktop printer is available for Windows only. If you're on Windows, you should see al ink to download and install the printer on the CreatePDF page when you're logged in to https://cloud.acrobat.com. I know there are plans to retire that printer, but just checked and the download is still available. Click "Download CreatePDF Desktop Tool" and then follow these instructions to set it up: Install and configure Adobe CreatePDF Desktop Printer
If you're on Mac OS, this option is available to you. But, you could download a free 30-day trial of Acrobat and could then "print" to PDF from Word.
