Adobe CS DRM

One year ago i buyed CS3 Design Standard.
I always like to have legal sofwares.
But i was only alowed to install it a few times.
After i installed it once. i wanted a new computer.
Then i installed it again. And when i installed it on my laptop i needed to call Adobe.
Every time i want to install my software i have to call Adobe now.
I got so tired of this problem that i found a illegal SN to stop this problem.
Is this the way you want it? I really dont like the DRM you are using.
Is it the same with CS4? In that case i will not upgrade.
Im happy with your produkt but it should not be more limitations on the legal vesion than the one you find on the internet. Im not the one steeling software. but i understand the ones doing it.
Thats just my opinion.

Thank you for reply.
Is it possible to deactivate when i allready have deletet the old HD?
If this is tha case i will go back to my old sn.
But i still think its stupid of Adobe to set limitations like this.
The Illigal one have none. If they want people to be legal just make the legal version better.
You know if CS4 have this?

  • What is the Adobe Access DRM (version 5.2) "External CEK" feature?

    [ Prior to Access 5.2 ]
    The randomly-generated (or user-provided) Content Encryption Key is encrypted using an asymmetric "license server key" and then stored in the content's metadata.  The CEK is never required to be persisted anywhere else (like a Key Management system or secure database).  When a client device makes a license request, the content metadata is sent to the Access DRM License Server, which has the private asymmetric key needed to decrypt the CEK out of the metadata.  The license server can then issue a license to the client containing this CEK.  For more details on the entire workflow, please see this post: DRM Packaging and License Issuance Lifecycle/Workflow
    [ New Feature introduced in Access DRM 5.2 - External CEK ]
    Due to popular demand, version 5.2 of Access DRM introduced a new Key Retrieval scheme called "External CEK".  The reason this name was chosen is because the CEK is now external from the metadata (where it traditionally resided).  Instead of the encrypted CEK being stored in the content metadata, a CEK-ID is stored there instead.  When the license server is processing a license request, if it detects that the KeyRetrievalType of the request is of type "ExternalKeyRetrieval", then the license server must implement logic to do a retrieval of the CEK, which is specific to the company using Access DRM.  The key retrieval may be via a KeyManagementService, a SecureDatabase, or even something as simple as a locally-stored flat file (hopefully only for testing purposes).
    Using internal-CEK or external-CEK is transparent to the client device; no code has to change (or has to change if you're upgrading from an earlier version of Access).  The only changes needed to incorporate External-CEK into your Access DRM workflow is to make a change on the content packaging side (to enable E-CEK and specify the CEK-ID), and on the license server side (to recognize the KeyRetrieval type as E-CEK and then do a CEK fetch).
    Details on how to integrate the External-CEK workflow into your Adobe Access DRM infrastructure is included in your Adobe Access v5.2 documentation and DVD.
    cheers,
    /Eric.

  • [11/21/2014] Adobe Access DRM Customer Advisory - SEVERE - Chrome 39 Corruption of Adobe Access DRM License Store

    [ Problem ]
    The Chrome browser version 39 upgrade on Mac OS will cause a corruption to the Adobe Access DRM (Primetime DRM) license stores.  Users of Chrome 39 on Mac OS will not be able to watch Adobe Access DRM protected content if they have previously played protected content, unless they manually reset their DRM license store.  If the end-user does not manually reset their DRM license store, they will see a client-side DRM Error Code 3321 on every playback attempt.
    This problem affects Mac users because Chrome will automatically update to a 64bit version of the browser.  Windows users will  not see this problem unless they opt-in for an upgrade to 64bit.
    [ Workaround ]
    Reset the Adobe Access DRM license store as per https://forums.adobe.com/thread/700107
    [ Permanent Fix ]
    Adobe will update the next version of Flash Player (December 2014) to accommodate this Chrome 39 upgrade scenario.  Google and Microsoft will also integrate this new Flash Player into Chrome and Internet Explorer at their earliest convenience.
    [ Background ]
    Prior to Chrome 39, Chrome on Mac OS was using 32bit architecture.  Chrome 39 enabled 64bit functionality, and MacOS will automatically upgrade Chrome 32bit to the 64bit version, which causes corruption to the Adobe Access DRM license store.  As a result of this breaking change from Google. To mitigate this type of failure in the future, Adobe will do pre-emptive testing of Google’s upcoming dev-channel builds to ensure backwards-compatibility with Adobe Access DRM.

    FOLLOWUP SENT OUT ON TUESDAY, 11/25/2014
    Hello,
    On Friday, November 21, Adobe distributed a Customer Advisory about a Chrome browser auto-update to version39 that caused playback of Adobe Access DRM streams to fail (with a DRM Error #3321 – 'Indiv Failed').  Only the Mac OS platform was affected.  More details of the announcement can be found at: https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1641382
    As of Tuesday, November 25th, an update to the Chrome browser has begun rolling out to resolve this issue.  The updated version of Chrome browser (64bit) is 39.0.2171.71.

  • Adobe reader, DRM, and Firefox-

    Hi,
    I have a book for sale through a site developed by myself and a website designer. The pdf for the book is optimized for Adobe. I have digital rights management (DRM) in place. Recently, I have come to understand that Firefox and Chrome have readers on them that allow all DRM to be defeated or circumvented. Is this so? And is there a way - maybe a plug-in or an add-on - to keep the Adobe DRM in force or effect even when the Firefox or Chrome reader is being used?
    Many thanks,
    holtmb

    That assumes you have DRM, and not a "half baked security solution" as some things have been called.
    For instance, some people propose security based on JavaScript. Since some viewers ignore JavaScript, they aren't even bypassing DRM, but the effect is the same.
    Similarly, as Acrobat warns you, not all products honour Acrobat security settings. Some developers consider copy protection evil.
    But true DRM will require specific software and won't be readable at all by other viewers.

  • How do I create DRM Licenses that can be used for Offline Playback?

    [ Background ]
    Typically, a license is acquired from the DRM license server when the client video player encounters a video that is DRM-protected.   However, some use cases call for the ability for end-users to be able to play DRM content when a network connection is not available to the device.
    For example - the user wants to download a video from their home, acquire a license to play the content, and then get onto a train/airplane where a network connection isn't available.  On the train/airplane/etc..., the end user expects to be able to watch their video that they downloaded at home.
    [ DRM Policy Requirements ]
    For this use case to be possible, the DRM license must be acquired when the network connection is available.  In addition, the DRM license must be allowed to persist on the device disk.  For this to be possible, one value must be present in the DRM policy:
    1. Offline License Caching must be set to 1 or higher.  This policy parameter indicates how many minutes a license is allowed to be persisted to disk once it's been acquired by the license server.
    [ Workflow ]
    Now that the content has been packaged with a DRM policy that allows for offline caching (persistance) of a license, the video player simply has to acquire the license before the network connection is lost.  This can be accomplished via the typical API calls that the Video Player Application Developer would use to do a normal DRM license acquisition (DRMManager.loadVoucher()).
    For example, by using the DRMManager ActionScript3 API: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/FlashPlatform/reference/actionscript/3/flash/net/drm/DRMManage r.html
    For other platforms supported by Adobe Access DRM (iOS, Android, etc...), please refer to the appropriate documentation around playback of DRM content on how to pre-fetch the DRM license.
    [ Workflow - iOS ]
    Enabling offline playback using the Primetime Media Player SDK (PSDK) for iOS requires a bit of self-extraction & instantiation of the DRM Metadata from the m3u8.  The reason for this is that as of PSDK v1.2, the PSDK APIs do not expose an mechanism for extracting the DRM metadata.
    You must manually (outside of the PSDK) get access to the DRM Metadata, instantiate a DRMContentData, and then use the DRMManager class to obtain a license for your content.  Afterwards, you may download your HLS content and stream it to your video player application locally.  Since the DRM license was pre-acquired before playback of the downloaded HLS content, your video player application does not require a network connection to acquire a DRM license.  Below is a code sample of obtaining the DRM Metadata from the m3u8 manifest and then using it with the DRMManager singleton.
    /*          Main entry points, playlistURL is url to a top level m3u8. */
    void PlayContent(NSURL* playlistURL)
              DRMManager* drmManager = [DRMManager sharedManager];
              if ([drmManager isSupportedPlaylist:playlistURL])
      // First we need a handler for any errors that may occur
                        DRMOperationError errorHandler = ^(NSUInteger major, NSUInteger minor, NSError* nsErr)
      /*          report error. */
      /*          Synchronous call to DRM manager to extract DRM metadata out of the playlist. */
                        [_drmManager getUpdatedPlaylist:playlistURL
                                                                                      error:errorHandler
                                                                                    updated:^(NSURL *newPlaylist, DRMMetadata *newMetadata)
                                   (void) newPlaylist; /*          updated URL is not used for this code sample. */
                                   if (newMetadata)
                                                      Assumes we are going to try to satisfy requirements to acquire license on the first policy in the metadata.
                                                      If there are multiple policies in the metadata, only 1 of them need to be satisfied for the license request to
                                                      go through.
                                             DRMPolicy* drmPolicy = NULL;
                                             for (id object in newMetadata.policies) {
                                                       DRMPolicy* drmPolicy = (DRMPolicy*)object;
                                                       break;
                                             if (drmPolicy == NULL)
                                                       /*          report error, this metadata is malformed. DRM metadata must contain at least 1 policy*/
                                             if (drmPolicy.authenticationMethod != ANONYMOUS)
    However, please note that the above only describes the DRM license handling for offline playback.  The actual playback of video using the Primetime client SDK is not officially supported.  You will have to use your own mechanism of saving and playback back HLS content locally within the application.
    Theoretically, it is possible to save the HLS stream to the app, and then embed an HTTP server to the app to stream the HLS content back into the application.  However, the Primetime client SDK doesn't not expose a way to do this directly, since it's not yet supported.
    cheers,
    /Eric.

  • Adobe Access plug in for Internet Explorer 10 on Windows 8

    Is Adobe Flash Access (DRM) built into Internet Explorer 10 on Windows 8? If so, what is the best way to remove the Flash Access DRM plugin on Windows 8 (using IE 10)? In the past, I would have just removed the NativeCache and APSPrivateData2 folders from the AppData/Roaming/Adobe/Flash player folder. However, if I do that on Windows 8, and try re-install the Flash Access plugin by playing a Flash Access encrypted video, I encounter alot of problems trying to play back a Flash Access encrypted video in Metro mode with IE. Does IE use the same Access plug in for both modes (Desktop and metro)?

    Hi Hiroshi, thanks for the help. I'm trying to test that my video player will download the Adobe DRM plugin if its not already present on the system. I've had to do this with previous versions of Windows, and I wanted to make sure the same functionality worked on the new Windows 8 64bit tablet. When I did this on the tablet (removed the DRM plugin from the AppData/Roaming/Adobe/Flash player folder), and played an Adobe Access protected video in IE on the desktop mode, the expected behaviour occured, i.e. the browser downloaded the DRM plugin, and playback continued. However, if I then go to play back and Adobe Access protected video on IE in Metro mode, the video doesn't playback. it seems to get stuck trying to download the plugin, even tough its already been downloaded and re-installed on the system, and the video won't play.
    So I was just wondering, now that Flash is built into IE 10 on Windows 8, is Adobe Access also built in (does the user ever need to download the DRM plugin on Windows 8)? And also, is there any reason that IE in metro mode would have trouble using an Adobe Access DRM plugin that was downloaded by IE in desktop mode on Windows 8? The Flash Player version is 11,3,376,12
    Thanks again

  • DRM Error 3321 Causes & Resolution

    [ Problem Background ]
    Adobe Access DRM needs to download a device-specific key before protected content can be consumed. This step is called individualization. If user is getting error code 3321 it means the individualization step failed.
    [ Root Cause ]
    The client needs to make network connection to http://individualization.adobe.com in order to individualize. The failure most likely was caused by a temporary network connection failure. To verify: use the browser and connect to http://individualization.adobe.com/flashaccess/i15n/v5 . View the page source. If everything is fine you will see something like:
    <html>
    <head>
    </head>
    <body>
    <!-- Version xxxxxxxxxx-->
    </body>
    </html>
    [ Resolution ]
    Make sure the network connection is fine.  Pay special attention to any proxies and firewalls which may be in place.
    Also, you may add additional logic to your video application to determine if it is able to query the URL endpoing for individualization in the event handler for 3321.  If the connection isn't possible, display a dialog to the end user to check for network connectivity issues (to http://individualization.adobe.com) - perhaps they are behind a firewall or in a network that restricts access to the individualization server.
    [ Problem Not Resolved? ]
    This article details what Adobe believes will resolve 3321 errors.  If this hasn't resolved your issue, we would love to hear more from you!  Please reply below with the following information:
    - If you don't see the <html> code that is shown above, what are you seeing?  Please cut & paste.

    (works fine in Chrome (37.0.2062.124) btw)
    I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling both flash and firefox a number of times.
    I've deleted my firefox profile, and recreated.

  • How to authorise single Ereader device with several Adobe IDs?

    Is it technically possible in Adobe's DRM system to connect a single epub ebook reader with several Adobe Digital Editions IDs?
    The background of my question is following: I got an ADE account and a laptop computer and Ereader authorised with that account. My wife got an ADE account of her own and her computer and her own Ereader authorised with her account. So both of us got 4 more devices to be authorised with if I understand the system right.
    What I have in mind is to authorise my wife's Ereader with my ADE account, too, in order to be able to transfer DRM protected epub ebooks that I purchased under my account to her Ereader. But I'm afraid to overwright the original authorisation on her Ereader by authorising it with my Adobe ID and therefore restrain from fiddling with the device authorisation.
    Any advise by Adobe or someone else in the community? I was not able to find any useful advise in various forums.
    Many thanks for help!
    Best regards,
    Martin D.

  • Cannot play Adobe Access Protected Content in Chrome (version 30 and higher); Error 3321/3322?

    Symptom:
    An end-user cannot play Adobe Access protected content.  The client application returns a persistent 3321 (Individualization Error) or 3322 (Device Binding Failure) error code.
    Root Cause in Chrome Browser:
    Adobe Access DRM must create a unique machine identifier (I.e. "token") to identify the the device.  This token is provided to the Adobe Access license server during a license request to view DRM protected content.  If Chrome Browser disables the ability for Adobe Access DRM to create a unique machine identifier, playback of Protected Content will fail with a 3321 or 3322 error code.  By default, this setting is enabled and available to toggle in Chrome Browser version 30 and higher.  Unchecking this option will prevent Adobe Access DRM from properly functioning. A 3321 or 3322 error that persists after a call to resetDRMVouchers is an indicator that this setting may need to be changed.
    Resolution:
    In your Chrome settings:
    •             Click on "Show advanced settings…"
    •             In the subsequent "Privacy" section, click on "Content settings…"
    •             In the subsequent "Protected Content" section, make sure that the following box is checked "Allow identifiers for protected content (computer restart may be required)".
      We are working with Google to allow better detection of this condition, so that the client will return a 3368 (User cancelled or user settings disallow operation) error code when the box is unchecked.

  • Adobe Digital Editions for IPad?

    I frequently review books for an online book digest. Publishers are increasingly distributing galley proofs digitally, most often using the Adobe Digital Editions app, which seems to be compatible with every kind of ebook reader....except the IPad. I haven't found an IPad version at the app store, and I don't have a Kindle or a Nook or any of those devices that read Adobe's DRM-protected files, and so am forced to non-portably read these galleys on my IMac. Anyone know if an IPad DE app is in the offing? Or failing that, a workaround? (I tried using Txtr, which claims it can read DE files. Not.)

    Incidentally, you do know that you can buy kindle or Nook apps for your ipad? I was assuming you wanted a DE-specific app.
    EDIT Actually, those apps are free--you just pay for what you buy through them, if that helps you any.
    Incidentally, O'Reilly, my publisher, uses PDF for real galley purposes, although they do create epub editions of their books for distribution. You might want to ask the publishers you work with if there's another format available.
