Adobe CS2 in Leopard

When opening the installer, no destination disk appears.
I know many users work with CS2 in Leopard without a glitch.
Any idea ?

I'm using Adobe Photohsop CS1 and it is working. There are a couple of little glitches, but nothing major. And whenever there is a major system upgrade you can ALWAYS figure there are some things that are going to break, which is why it is a good plan to install a new system on a new drive or second partition. AFAIK the things that don't work and will never work are Photoshop 7 and Elements 2.

    Hi,
Could be many things, we should start with this...
    "Try Disk Utility
    1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
    2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu at top of the screen. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
*Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.*
    3. Click the First Aid tab.
    4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
    5. Click Repair Disk, (not Repair Permissions). Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106214
Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)
If perchance you can't find your install Disc, at least try it from the Safe Boot part onward.
Open Console in Applications>Utilities & see if there are any clues or repeating messages when trying to open CS2.

  • Adobe CS2 compatibility with Leopard 10.5.1

I need to boot from the disks on an old iMac -- but I can't locate those disks. I do have an unused Leopard 10.5.1 that I could use -- but I need to make sure that Adobe CS2 will still work on that computer. Does anyone know if it will work?

Ha-ha.... I had an IT guy tell me it would overwrite the system but wouldn't mess with the data or the programs -- but he couldn't tell me if they were compatible... I guess this why I'm not computer guru!

  • How does Adobe CS2 perform in Leopard?

    Hi all
I am very interested in migrating from Tiger to Leopard but one of the reasons that is preventing this is the supposed behaviour of Adobe CS2 in the latter. Upgrading to CS3 is not possible due to financial reasons so I am more interested in anyone who is using, or has used, Adobe CS2 applications in Leopard to see what the stability is like.
I have read that CS2 is not rock sold under Leopard but the proof is in the using so please tell me your experiences briefly if you can so I can make a more informed decision about my options.
    Many thanks.

Thanks for your reply - I have CS2 - the basic suite (AI,GoLive, InDesign, Photoshop, Acrobat) and upgraded from Panther to Tiger, so I could use Acrobat 8. I use the suite on an old Quicksilver - processer as below - 733 MHz - usually okay but spinny on charts that are complex - but I don't overwork AI and Photoshop - mostly use InDesign and Acrobat, and an additional InDesign on another computer. I deauthorized the single InDesign on my iBook and put it on the MacBook Pro to try it out - the first couple of times it was okay but sometimes it fails to open - starts to "bounce" then just hangs. This is quite frustrating since the power of the MacBook far outstrips my stalwart Quicksilver- I'd love to access it but I really can't afford CS3. If you have any workarounds, that would be great. For now I'd be happy just to use InDesign on the MacBook, but it would be great to have the entire suite available on it.

  • Leopard won't install Adobe CS2 or Acrobat 7.0 standard from my G4

i just bought a new mac book and took it to the apple store to transfer my hardrive from my G4 to my new mac book. all worked fine except Adobe CS2 and Acrobat 7.0 standard. we tried to re-install the disks but the new computer just gave us errors such as 'serial number problems (which i checked and they are right) and saying it wasn't supported??? Neither the Apple store or Adobe support has been able to help.

thank you...I'm new to this site and I wanted to make sure I assigned points to the person who answered my question. I clicked on the button that my question was solved, but when I log on here I still see the 'you have 1 unresolved question'. how do resolved this and assign points to the helpful people? Thank YOu!!!

my adobe cs2 has been running fine for over a year now on my new imac, but over the last couple of months PHOTOSHOP will quit at random times when working on a project.

Hello, I use MAC AIR OSX 10.6.8 and have Adobe CS2, that I was using 2 years ago on my older computer. I stopped using it because it would close down in the middle of work. Now I would like to reinstall it on the MacAir but I can not get it working. It tells Adobe doesnT support my System. But I can not update my old version or activate it. What can I do?

The mac you want to install photoshop cs2 on is running mac os x 10.6.8 Snow Leopard?
(photoshop cs2 won't run on intel macs with mac os x newer than snow leopard)
Did you ever have cs2 installed on this particular computer before?
If the problem is that you already installed cs2, but it won't activate, that's because adobe took the activation servers offline for some older adobe products such as cs2.
You'll need to use the non activation version of cs2 from here and the supplied serial number:
Activation server shut down for Creative Suite 2, Acrobat 7, and Macromedia products

  • Camera raw CS2 and Leopard

I have been using CS2 with Leopard.I upgraded from CS online with a download to CS2. My hard drive crashed. I was sent a link via email thru Adobe to download CS2 again. When I downloaded/installed the program, when opening Bridge the message I got was"The Application could not load Adobe Camera Raw. Use the Adobe Bridge Installer to install the adobe camera raw plug-in. I have 3.7 in the place that Ramo'n mentioned and no where else. What am I doing wrong can it work with out having to go to a lower Operating system?

    Kellie,
    >
"Use the Adobe Bridge Installer to install the adobe camera raw plug-in"
That error message is incomprehensible. There is no independent "Bridge Installer" and Bridge has absolutely nothing to do with installing the Camera Raw plug.in.
I can't begin to imagine what would generate such a message error, ever.
I hope someone from the ACR Team responds to your post in this forum. The creator of both Photoshop and Camera Raw, Thomas Knoll, and one of the ACR Engineers, Eric Chan, are very active here, as is Jeff Schewe, who wrote THE book on Camera Raw.
I'm sure no one is ignoring you here, but, as I told you earlier, CS2 is not supported under Leopard. Basically, it it runs fine, if it doesn't, too bad.

  • Adobe CS2 for my old G5?

New Year's Greetings one & all.
Not sure where to post this, but:
Since... I hope to keep my first gen. iMac G5 with Panther 10.3.9 ...and I own a good number of manuals on Creative Suite 2... I'd like to purchase a used, legal version of Adobe CS2, both to learn it and use it.
Is there a reputable source to buy older software? There are two updates since CS2, and I'm guessing many Graphic Artists will have switched up - would $250 - $300 be in the ballpark for this version? InDesign is my main interest, but also Illustrator & Photoshop.
Any caveats or advice on this issue much appreciated.
    Alex G

Hi Trevor, Thank you for this advice. I've wondered about CS3 and you're the first to suggest it is a big improvement over CS2, at least in Photoshop. A principle concern is my older Mac & OS (I know that CS2 runs well on my current set-up). And I own many CS2 manuals from an aborted course.
Photoshop is a lower priority than InDesign & Illustrator. Do you you know if these two are substantially improved in CS3?
True, I'll need to upgrade to Tiger or Leopard at some point. Or even an Intel machine. So does CS3 run smoothly on your G5 with Tiger?

  • Adobe CS2 0n  G3 iBook.

I have a G3 iBook with a 20GB hard drive and running OSX 10.3.9. I would like to run Adobe CS2 on my iBook but I know it will burden the memory and slow things down. Can I load the CS2 program, which includes Photoshop and Illustrator, to a external hard drive and run it from that hard drive?
    Thanks in advance,
    Lenny

I would get CS3 and an Intel based system.
For an external drive, I'd get one of the 750GB FW800/400 drives, or use what you have (but backup first). G3: can it boot from external FW drives?
You can put your home account on any disk drive using NetInfo Manager pre-Leopard to change the path to
    /Volumes/vol_name/Users/account
after you move the entire /Users and free up disk space.

  • Adobe CS2 Install... STRANGE

    Ok,
FYI, I installed Leopard on a separate disk and went to install CS2 (we don't own CS3 yet and I enjoy living dangerously)
So.. I go to install and the Adobe CS2 installer says that the only thing it will install is: Version Cue, and tells me the other apps are installed. This isn't so...
So finally I get the great idea, to eject my internal 10.4 hard drive, and see if the software will install. It does,
So if you try to install CS2 on a system that has more than one hard drive, and one of the other hard drives has CS2 on it, the system will think the software is installed.

I didn't have any previous version installed, my macbook is brand new. My problem is perfectly explained here and I did what it says to solve it..but I just can't.

I've created the "ScriptingAdditions" folder and nothing. I've found (on the web) the "Adobe Unit Types" file and copied it into that folder and nothing happend.
Do anyone knows what's going on?? Thanks

  • Adobe CS2 Premium - How to I transfer my serial number from a PC that is broken to a new PC?

My old PC has died and I have loaded my Adobe CS2 Premium software onto my new computer. When I try to activate the serial number Adobe sends me a message that I can only activate the serial number on one computer. How can I change the serial number registration to my new computer when the old one is broken and I cannot deactivate it?

Your own copy of CS2 will not be able to be activated.  You need to acquire a special version that has a special serial number.  See the following for more information and to get the installation files.

I am unable to install Adobe CS2 Premium on Windows OS 7. My discs require activation but do install to the OS. The non-activation version recommended gives the error message that" this version is not compatible wih OS" and will not install.

    Hi Issieoo,
Though you may install Cs2 on Windows but you may face performace issue. Please find the System Requirement for installing for one of the CS2 product: http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/system-requirements-photoshop.html . However I would recommend you to purchase the new CC realease with more enhanced functionalities and features.
