Adobe CS2 on the MacBook

I wanted to know if my macbook (not macbook pro) can handle adobe cs2?
Because this website is selling it but they says that a g5 processor is required. Do the MacBook have that? By the way, I have the black one with 2 gb's of ram

Hi.
All the current Macs, including the MacBooks run on Intel processors. The Adobe CS2 software is not 'Universal', i.e. not written to run in these newer macs, but they will run in 'Rosetta' mode in the Intel Macs. They will not run native on the macs and may be "slower" in performance.
If you have the opportunity, upgrade your CS2 to the new Universal CS3, which can run in both Intel and "older" PPC macs.
Cheers

  • Adobe CS2 on a Macbook Pro

I have installed Adobe CS2 on my Macbook pro. Everything runs except Photoshop and Version Cue. Have uninstalled twice. Still the same problem. Photosop gets to "loading Twain drivers" and then quits. Any Ideas?

You may have to copy and paste the link below. This is the first time that I have tried to paste a link on this site.
I am assuming that this is still a reliable fix.

  • Adobe CS2 fonts - use in MS Word?

I had Adobe CS2 on the MacBook Pro as well as MS Office for Mac. There is a font in Adobe (Bickham) that I want to use in Word. The font is a ttf font. I have tried to track it down and move it but to no avail. Can anyone offer any help?

Normally, you will find the fonts the CS2 applications install in the /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Fonts/ folder. Any Adobe apps know to look there, but since it's not a normal "Fonts" folder that OS X looks in, nothing else sees them. You can move all of the fonts you find there to the /Library/Fonts/ folder if you want, then you can use them with any program.

  • How does Adobe CS2 perform in Leopard?

    Hi all
I am very interested in migrating from Tiger to Leopard but one of the reasons that is preventing this is the supposed behaviour of Adobe CS2 in the latter. Upgrading to CS3 is not possible due to financial reasons so I am more interested in anyone who is using, or has used, Adobe CS2 applications in Leopard to see what the stability is like.
I have read that CS2 is not rock sold under Leopard but the proof is in the using so please tell me your experiences briefly if you can so I can make a more informed decision about my options.
    Many thanks.

Thanks for your reply - I have CS2 - the basic suite (AI,GoLive, InDesign, Photoshop, Acrobat) and upgraded from Panther to Tiger, so I could use Acrobat 8. I use the suite on an old Quicksilver - processer as below - 733 MHz - usually okay but spinny on charts that are complex - but I don't overwork AI and Photoshop - mostly use InDesign and Acrobat, and an additional InDesign on another computer. I deauthorized the single InDesign on my iBook and put it on the MacBook Pro to try it out - the first couple of times it was okay but sometimes it fails to open - starts to "bounce" then just hangs. This is quite frustrating since the power of the MacBook far outstrips my stalwart Quicksilver- I'd love to access it but I really can't afford CS3. If you have any workarounds, that would be great. For now I'd be happy just to use InDesign on the MacBook, but it would be great to have the entire suite available on it.

  • Can I run the old Adobe CS2 software on a new Macbook?

Can I run the old Adobe CS2 software on a new Macbook?
I am planning on buying the new white 13" macbook online from apple.
Although I have the old CS2 Adobe software.
I was wondering if anyone knows if the new macbook is able to run that old software.
If anyone knows, please let me know, as I am planning on purchasing soon!
    Thanks in advance,
    Heather

Yes, it will run OK. Before buying Design Premium CS4, I used Photoshop CS2 on my late-2008 MacBook Pro (under OSX 10.5.6 through 10.5.8) without any problems.

You would need the original installation disks or files for the Adobe software to get it onto your iMac, and having it on two computers may not be allowed by your university's licensing. Talk to whoever issued the MacBook.
As to the music, just copy it over to the MacBook, either via Home Sharing, file sharing, or an external storage medium (hard drive, USB flash drive, etc.).

Hey, I'm trying to install Adobe Flash on my Macbook Air. At a certain point it asks for my password but it doesn't take it. So I cannot continue installment. I have reset my password already. Still the same problem. How can I continue to install when it keeps asking for a password it doesn't recognize over and over again? How many times do I have to reset it then? Advice please

You have to provide your computer's administrator password in order to install Flash Player.

  • I have installed a trial of Adobe illustrator on my macbook pro. I want to trace an image using the custom trace button but can't. Does anyone have any ideas how I could custom trace?

I have installed a trial of Adobe illustrator on my macbook pro. It is the 2014 release of adobe illustrator. I want to trace an image using the custom trace button.
I start a new document. Then I place my scanned pencil/colored pencil drawing, in to the document. I have tried scanning and then placing it as a jpeg, bitmap, and tiff file. I have tried scanning and then placing it, in color and in black and white. The scan mode I use is flatbed. Adobe illustrator allows me to select the default button and one of eleven preset buttons (e.g high fidelity photo), but it does not allow me to click the custom trace button. The custom trace button is grey while all the other buttons are white.
Does anyone have any ideas how I could custom trace?

It seems pointless to adjust it afterwards because it is then only a couple a pencil lines rather then a full drawing. And how do I adjust it afterwards? Would I do this using the different buttons under the window button?

  • My adobe CS2 programs will not open on my macbook pro osx 10.5.8

Today my adobe cs2 suite programs will not open.  They were working just fine a couple of days ago.  And they have worked fine for years.  I did not update to any new os that would cause them not to work.  I really need to get some image work done soon and this is a real monkey wrench in my plans.  I uninstalled everything and tried to reinstall from the disc and it would not let me do that either.  I tried to download picasa just as a quick alternative to get some images edited tonight and it would not let me open that either, even though it said it was good for 10.5 or above.  So the only thing I can think of is that I downloaded something that changed some settings?

    Try http://www.lemkesoft.com/ GraphicConverter instead.

I currently run the Design and Web Premium CS6 on a first generation MacBook Air and want to buy a new MacBook Pro. How do I know whether I can install my Adobe programs onto the new computer? Because I know there is some kind of limit.
Also, I had to install the software twice on my same computer before because I had to reboot the computer. I don't know if this affects the limit.

You are allowed to have two activated installations so there should not be a problem having working installations on the two machines.  If by chance you have somehow tied up two activations for the one machine you can have Adobe support help resolve that thru chat.

I have Photoshop CS2 for the MAC and it stopped working on my MAC. I recently bought a new MAC, an IMAC and it doesn't work on that either. There appears to be no way to contact Adobe. What do I do? Thanks, Ed

That because the activation servers were retired. Now for the good news:
Adobe has provided a non-activation version of Photoshop CS2 free of charge for their CS2 license holders.
Download the Mac version of Photoshop (not the suite) and copy down the serial number next to it.  Do not use your original serial number or cs2 disc.
Download Acrobat 7 and CS2 products
Uh... one more thing CS2 is PPC only.  OSX 10.6.8 has Rosetta to run legacy PPC products. 10.7 and above will not.
    Good luck,

I have the same question. It seems that Adobe is almost impossible to contact (I ended up here at the forums to ask the same question).
I will never buy another Adobe product again if I can get another program to replace it. If this is customer service then it is NON EXISTENT!
I notice that your question has not been answered and why should you have to get the information from a forum? I know of no other company that makes you do this for simple product information.
NOT HAPPY with this version of arrogant customer service (nor am I happy about renting Photoshop products into the future - it is just a money grab in my opinion). I will be voting with my feet and going elsewhere in future.
