Adobe CS3 License and Reinstall Issue

After a while of using Adobe Design Suite CS3 I got an unexpected error 'Licensing for this product has stopped working'. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Suite, but installation for Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator keeps failing. Only Acrobat and Shared Components installs.
Any help would be appreciated.

Uninstall and try one more time. There is a bug in teh CS3 licensing system where it will only work after the 2nd reinstall. If that doesn't fix it, manually delete the caps.db (C:\Program Files\Common files\Adobe\caps) and run the drill again. It will complain that the caps.db is damaged the first time, so you need to run this twice as well...

I bought the Adobe Exportpdf license and cannot find the link how to use it

    Hi Pedro,
To use the ExportPDF service, simply visit http://exportpdf.acrobat.com and click 'Sign in' at the top right corner.  Enter your Adobe ID (email address) credentials to log into the service.  As ExportPDF is web-based, you simply utilize the tool through your web browser.  After you're logged in, you should see the ExportPDF interface, with a button saying 'Select PDF file..' to get the process started.
You may also access ExportPDF via Adobe Reader by choosing File > Save as Word or Excel Online.
Please let us know if you have any questions.

  • Adobe CS3 Licensing Issue

I have Vista Business, Adobe CS3 with student licensing. It has worked great for three months. Now I'm back in school and I get an error that says "Licensing for this product has stopped working:". It is registered.
I've followed all of the fixes listed here and it still will not work. I have emailed support and they gave me the same fixes as here. Someone must know how to fix it, it's their software.
I tried to uninstall but all I get is the Install Wizard. I went through it once, inserted the disk and waited patiently. I have rebooted each and every time I've made changes. NOTHING WORKS!. I can't even unistall it, that is strange.
Does someone have another method of getting this going again. I have assignments due and it has really caused me a lot of stress.
    Thanks for the help,
    Paul

I have a similar problem - just posted this today, 5th July 2014. I get a message that says windows cannot find c:\programme files(x86)\Adobe\Reader 11.0\Reader\AcroRd 32.exe.  Tried several uninstall/reinstalls with special programmes to check that uninstall was complete. Oddly, a download trial of the full programme Adobe Pro works OK !  If an expert out there can sort this it would be much appreciated.

  • Adobe CS5 Uninstall and Reinstall

How do I uninstall Adobe CS5 on one computer and reinstall it on another computer?

Uninstalling should begin with deactivating the older installation before you uninstall.  Open one of the applications and under the Help options of the top menubar choose Deactivate.  There is no need to uninstall after you deactivate it, but you can.  If you have a Windows machine you should be able to uninstall it thru the Control Panel (I don't know what the equivalent is for a Mac)
To reinstall on another machine you can use the discs if you have them.  If you originally downloaded the application(s) then you might have a download link to them via your Adobe account online.  Otherwise, you can download the trial version of the software thru the page linked below and then use your current serial number to activate it.
Be sure to follow the steps outlined in the Note: Very Important Instructions section on the download pages at this site and have cookies enabled in your browser or else the download will not work properly.

  • Reformat and reinstall issues with Audigy4

After a Windows XP reinstall, I wanted to reinstall my Mediasource Go and all software files associated with my Audigy4 Pro.
I flashed the bios, updated chipsets, did a clean boot and reinstalled as per instructions on the Creative site. However, Mediasource GO didn't install correctly and, in trying to install Mediasource Player 5, it hangs at 57% on the "uninstalling MediasourceGo" because of the half-uninstalled files.
Also, trying to install "MediasourceGo" as a stand-alone download won't work because, even though the old one is half-uninstalled, the prompt says "A newer version is already on your system" and exits!
I'm certain that there are registry problems or hidden files that are prohibiting me from deleting certain files in the Creative folders (some dll files refused to delete even in clean boot).
This is very aggravating and any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!

  • Help with adobe activation licensing and expirations and.... everything else

I went to buy cs5. Because I was buying many for my boss who works at a government funded school, we tried using volume licensing with cdw.
Our cdw manager was a total moron and kept giving us the wrong quote. Finally we got the right one and bought it, only to find out it was a bunch of licenses and we wanted the box product for at least a few of them. We have some computers without internet....
So we were either gonna buy 1 box product or return them all.
As usual the moron gave us more retarted quotes with products we didnt even mention!!
Well we decided it was too shady and stopped using cdw. We went to the apple store to buy a few box products.
We bought 2 student and teacher editions.
then we opened one to find out you arent suppose to buy 2 education editions. Why? who knows. to make my life harder.
Well we tried installing 1 only to find that you need to give in a promo code with a picture and information.... basically adobe wants my soul in exchange for this stupid thing which is now getting on my nerves. We needed it working a week ago!
It also says that the student copies will expire... is this true? it will stop working?
Now I feel like I should just go return both student copies to the apple store and buy 2 official versions with no stupid hassles. But who knows if they will take them back now that one has been opened!
I'm pissed and hate the whole licensing thing.
I dont know what to do but I need adobe working now!
any help would be greatly appreciated.
    thanks!!!

You will need to speak with Customer Service. This is a User to User forum. No official Adobe presence here. For what its worth I used to get excellent service from PC/Mac/Gov Connection.

  • Adobe CS3 Master Collection Install Issues

Im at my whits end with this, I have got the master Collection on a disk, but when i try to install it opens the installer and the bar opens but then it just silent closes (no error messages) after a second or 2... without any progress...
    The details;
    System Specs:
Dell Inspiron 1545 Laptop, Intel Core2 Duo Processor 2GHz, 3GB RAM and 320GB HDD
Running Windows Vista Home Premium, Service Pack 1, 32bit Edition
I have previously had Photoshop CS3 and Premier 6 installed, but i got rid of those prior to install attempt number one!
    What I have tried so far;
    - I have deleted all Adobe software off my computer, therefore it isnt a software clash.
    - I have tried turning my anti-virus off and on, so it isn't an anti-virus or firewall clash
    - I have tried all the recommended tips on the Adobe website
    - I have all the correct files for running the software, I have also tried running it on a different laptop, and it worked.
    - I ran CCleaner, and a registry cleaner, still nothing
    - I realised I forgot to get rid of Macromedia Flash... Promptly removed it; still nothing.
I am really getting upset by this now (upset and angry)
All tips would be much appreciated and I will be forever in debt to whoever solves this issue!
    Thanks
    Josh

I have also had trouble uninstalling Adobe Photoshop CS3, as i said above i tried to get rid of it, however i couldnt remove it via the uninstall menu, so i deleted it from program files (and all other traces of photoshop i could find) however the option to unistall is still their, but when i try to uninstall it comes up with the error message that is attached...
im assuming these 2 problems are linked... so help with this would be useful..
    thanks!

  • Adobe Connect audio and polls issues

    Hello Everyone,
When I'm using Adobe Connect I have these problems (always).
    * Sound cuts in and out.
    * (Not Responding) comes up for polls (or any time I'm interacting with the Group or Host).
I have a Compaq Laptop with Window 7/ Windows Explorer 9 / Adobe Flash Player 11.3
    Please help this is urgent!
    Thank you.

It sounds like a network issue. You say you have connected in different locations, did you connect in a location where others were not having the issue? Could your IT staff work with you to identify why you may be having connectivity issues?
If everyone was experiencing the problem, then I'd be inclined to say it was an issue with your Connect account, but being isolated to you, it seems like the problem may be local. Sometimes wireless routers get overwhelmed in busy environments, and may cause some individuals to see temporarily lost connectivity. Other times it may just be a wireless router going bad. If you are hard wired, then it may be router that is beginning to fail. Be sure that when you test other locations, you are connecting to different hardware.
Since you are running the add-in, I don't believe the browser should make any difference.

  • Adobe Acrobat Download and Reinstall on New Computer

I purchased and installed Adobe X back in Feb.  But I would now like to download and install on another computer. I can find the product code but how do I access the download file for installation on another computer?

So the old computer bit the dust?  If that is the case and this is Acrobat X Pro then it's just a matter of downloading the Trial version.  The Trial version will accept your serial number.  If this is Acrobat X Standard and you don't have access to the original download link that you were sent then you need to contact Adobe Customer Service.

  • HT3910 Erase and Reinstall Issues...

    Hi everyone.
I bought a used iMac yesterday and the guy I bought it from said he had erased it to factory settings but when I got it home he hadn't and I messaged him asking for his system administrator details and I have tried everything he gave me but nothing is working. I have erased the disk and tried reinstalling the Snow Leopard software that came with the iMac originally but it gets to 28mins remaining and goes no further - saying an error has occured and "The Installer could not copy the necessary support files". Restart computer and try again. I've done this five or six times now and still no luck. Please help I really don't know what to do!
    Thank you

If you have the original install disk(s) power up the mac and push in the install disk while holding the C key (this will boot it from the install disk)
After it boots, select your language, click continue and in the next window in the menu bar click on utilities/disk utilities. From the left column highlight your volume (default name Macintosh HD) from the first aid tab click verify disk. After it runs if there are any errors (they will be in red font) click repair disk, run until no more errors come up (in green font it should say disk appears ok)
Then click on the erase tab, format the disk to Macintosh OS Extended (Journaled) and name it (You can use Macintosh HD, or what ever you wish. Click the erase button.
Quit the installer (menu bar under Installer) eject the disk and log out and shut down.
Power up and push in the install disk holding the C key till it boots to the installer again, select language and follow the prompts. This will be a clean install.
You will need to run software update till there are no more updates. (I suggest to install the updates one at a time)
    Hope this helps

  • Flash CS3: Buttons and Button issues

    Hello,
I am currently using flash CS3, and going at my 1st attempt at making a flash website for my screenprinting business. I am using action script 2. I created the buttons (Button Symbols) in flash and am having difficulty with them. When I go to test the movie I get this error message "Mouse events are permitted only for button instances". Once again, I have created these buttons as button sumbols in flash and they are all not working properly as I have a error message for each button symbol. What might be going on, and what can I do to resolve it?
    5 button instances
    Location is scene 1
    Sourse is On Press
This is how I am coding the buttons
    on (press) {
    gotoAndStop(1);
    6 page flash site

What you should do is take a different approach and not use code that gets attached to objects--it's an old practice that unfortunately couldn't be dropped due to the need to support old designs.
Give each button on the stage a unqiue instance name and assign code for them using their names.  So if you have a button that you assign the instance name "btn1", then you can assign its code in the timeline using...
    btn1.onRelease = function(){ // recommend using onRelease over onPress
        gotoAndStop(1);

  • Adobe cs3 won't install on Windows 7(32-bit)!

A friend of mine finally convinced me to install Windows 7, and he had good reason to. This OS really lives up to the hype thats been going on...but, Im having trouble installing an ESSENTIAL program(s) to this great OS, Adobe CS3 Design Premium. I installed Windows 7 (32-bit) from a DVD, with the product key, which I think is the "clean install" Ive been hearing about. I read something that says Windows 7 doesn't recognize a certain file associated with Cs3, maybe thats why it wont load. I attached a screen shot of my system specs, if it helps. But this is what happened.
    - When I insert the software DVD, the autoplay feature pops up, then Windows "User Account Control" asks me if I want to allow the changes.
    - I click "Yes," and then the "Adobe Creative Suite 3 Design Premium" window pops up and gives me the option to: Install CS3 Design Premium; Install Adobe Acrobat 8; and Browse CD.
    - I choose "Install CS3" and then a window "Initializing Adobe Creative Suite 3 Design Premium" with a progress bar.
    - The bar fills up, but when it finishes nothing happens.
I checked the tasked manager and see that, that adobe setup.exe is running somehow, but nothing happens. I have search on Adobe forums and google for possible solutions, but nothing has worked so far. I have tried:
    - Runnning the setup application from the DVD (in Adobe Design Premium CS3 folder) as "Administrator"
    - Ran "wincs3clean," to remove any existing adobe programs from the system.
    - Ran ccleaner, to fix/repair any registry problems or anything else.
    - Tried copying the content of the DVD onto the desktop and run it as Admin.
    - Used the command.exe (as admin) and ran the "regsvr32 jscript.dll" and "regsvr32 vb(something)"
    - Ran Windows 7 in "simplified" mode, where I disabled any services/processes from interferring with the setup, through the msconfig feature.
    - Cleared the Windows temporary files, as this was a solution for Vista, I thought might work.
    - Tried updating my drivers, everything was uptodate.
    - Called Adobe Technical support, waited about 30 mins, and then was told "Adobe does not support Windows 7, so the install may or maynot work." (They could help if they wanted to).
    - Tried restarting in a previous version, to see if it would install, but the admin password that I had before isnt working now for some reason.
Ive seen reports of people having Adobe CS3 installed on Windows 7 and working fine, so I know its possible. Its just frustrating that I cant get it to work. Somebody (bodies), please help me. Let me know if there is any other info needed. Ive struggling with this for some time now.
    Thanks A-Mil in advance,
    Gary D.

i am having very similar issues and after working on this for days i'm ready to trash all Adobe products..   i've been in DP for 35 years and have never had this much trouble with anything - ever.
i migrated to a new machine using windows 7 from and XP machine.  i used PCmover to port applications and all are working just fine except my Adobe CS3 products.   When i try to open them i get some sort of message about catastophic licensing problem and the product immediately closes.  i'd detail the error but it's only up for about  4 milliseconds before it disappears.
so i tried reinstalling CS3 and it loads the autoplay just fine and then i click on 'install adobe cs3' icon and see the progress bar moving for about 2 secons and then that disappears and then NOTHING.
so i found suggestions about using the CS5 cleaner tool and ran that bout it didn't even find the application..
so i went to control panel and clicked on 'uninstall' for CS3 and it seems run for about 3 seconds and then NOTHING..
so i installed a windows cleanup tool that was recommended but that's been retired by Microsoft because it caused other problems so i didn't run it..
short of formatting my hard drive and starting over installing over 50 apps on my new computer, i'm at a loss and so extremely frustrated with Adobe that i am willing to learn another set of programs to replace them and to tell the world.

  • Adobe CS3 Windows 7 installation says does not meet minimum requirements

I am trying to install Adobe Creative Suite 3 Design Premium on a brand new Windows 7 machine (32-bit). It is a downloaded copy from Adobe's website.
When I start the install process, it takes me to the "Options" Screen and will not let me install Photoshop, Illustrator, or InDesign. All those options are grayed out.
At the bottom, the reason it gives is as follows:
"The minimum system requirements listed below needed to run adobe photoshop cs3 are required and are not met:
    - Windows XP (Service Pack 2)
    - Windows Vista"
It gives the same error for the other 2 programs as well.
I have tried the following troubleshooting steps already with no luck:
    1. Run Setup.exe as Administrator
    2. Run Setup.exe in compatibility mode (either as Windows XP SP2, or Windows Vista)
    3. Logged-in to Administrator profile and tried installing from there
    4. did the regsvr32 on both vbscript.dll and jscript.dll.
    5. Tried the CS3 cleanup tool at multiple levels.
    6. Made sure there are no other Adobe products installed
    7. Called Adobe Tech support, they are no help. They said to re-install the OS, which doesn't make any sense since it's a clean install.
No AV installed yet, so that's not the issue either.
    Any ideas?

I realise I'm a bit late to the party here.. but after spending a few hours going through the Adobe CS3 Bootstrapper and Install process and files, I have the answer to why Windows 7 does not meet the minimum requirements.
The answer is in the xml files contained in the payloads for the CS3 Installation.
    Line 72786 of AdobeIllustrator13en_US.proxy.xml :
    <SystemRequirementsJSON>[
         {"OS":{"Windows":{"XP":{"Exclude":true,"Require":{"MinServicePack":"2","@servicePack64Bit" :1
    ,"Need64Bit":"0"}},"Server2003":{"Exclude":true},"Vista":{"Require":true}}},
                                  "Memory":{"System":{"Default":{"Require":"512","Exclude":"500"}}},
                                  "Display":{"Default":{"Require":{"Width":"1024","Height":"768"},"Exclude":{"Width":"800"," Height":"600"}}}
    ]</SystemRequirementsJSON>
Basically it is this: For Adobe Illustrator CS3 the following is supported: Windows XP SP2, or Vista ONLY
Not Windows XP SP2 or above, or Windows XP SP2 and Vista or above ...
The same is in several other files, but not all. Illustrator and InDesign are the 2 that I know of.
I have 500 odd machines that I need to deploy this software to.
If Adobe would like to offer a work around with consideration to deploying the software silently via Microsoft SMS to 500 Windows 7 Workstations - I would be most grateful.
My rage at software installer developers with such little foresight is only tempered by the knowledge that the task itself is so difficult.
However, that does not excuse the lack of thought given to how enterprise level administrators are supposed to deal with updates, patches, and deployments to machines where users have limited rights, and the difficulty that is caused by the inclusion of unhelpful and sparse documentation and software (such as Adobe Updater).
