HAD a 2008 MacBook Pro with Adobe CS4 installed
now have a brand new MacBook Pro (and used my time machine to back up from my old mac) and when trying to open InDesign files - gives a list of plugins that are missing and will not open the document.
I'm a graphic designer- so this is not an option..
Please Help!

You can install Adobe Programs ONLY from the originals installer which is provided from Adobe. Time Machine (which is a form of migration) will not result in working Adobe programs. As Bob said, use the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool, which is also working for CS versions, to wipe out everything from Adobe and start with a clean installing.
I am not sure, if CS4 is running on Maverick, at least it is not supported officially, your are here alone. It might be so that you have to upgrade your software to a later version.

wow thanks for the very fast reply! I'll stick with it then and see how it goes. I love the thing though. It's very sexy!! Bit peed that they bumped the 7200rpm drive up to 200GB today but never mind, not fussed by the CPU as it'll only use the battery more and this thing is fast enough!
Will the upgrade convert all the OS into the full 64bit?

New MacBook Pro - How Can I install Snow Leopard?

I have a brand new MPB from Apple that comes with Lion pre-installed. I didn't ask for this, even though I ordered the computer a few days before Lion came out.
Lion has been a disaster, from random crashes, to breaking software (including Apple's own Motion and Cinema Tools), to draining the battery after 3 hours or less. Does anyone know of any way possible to put Snow Leopard on this computer? I have the SL install disc (10.6.3), but I get an error message that it cannot be installed. If I try to start from he disc, I get a kernel crash.

I am not sure if you will be able to go back to a lower OS if could be built into the firmware to not let this install happen. You can give this a try, You will need to start the system with your Mac OS X 10.6 snow leopard dvd then format the drive with disk utility, then do the install.

I have installed Adobe Creative Cloud for teams CC Packages which says that Acrobat XI Pro is installed. Your support page says it does not install Acrobat and I have to look in the Extensions folder for an MSI file. Also I now administer the teams and have accepted the invitation to I received to be a team member and download the apps. The admin page shows that I have been sent an invitation but does not show my account as "ACtive" unlike my other team members. Finally what other product downloads in Creative Cloud do not actually download as part of the Creative cloud Packager for downloading the apps? e.g. acrobat and what else?

Are you able to copy the contents of the DVD to your computer? Are you receiving any particular error messages when you are trying to install? Finally which operating system are you using?

In the link you posted it states that the Nikon 810 requires ACR 8.6 or newer.
Version of ACR are specific to versions of Photoshop. You cannot use 8.6 nor even 7.0.in CS5.
I believe that ACR 6.7 is the latest that will work with CS5, so make sure you have this installed and get rid of ACR 7.
Having 2 versions of ACR will cause problems.
You have already downloaded DNG Converter 8.7.1.
Have you double clicked the DMG file to allow you to install DNG Converter on your computer?
Be aware that DNG converter is a stand-along application and not a plug-in.
You need to open DNG converter at select the FOLDER that contain your .NEF files.
Don't open the folder and try to select individual files, it doesn't work that way.
After converting your D810 files to DNGs you can then open the DNGs in CS5
The problem is your camera didn't exist when CS5 & its version of ACR was developed.
i don't use Lightroom, but the list mentions Lightroom 5.6 as needed to open D819 so your 3.6 version of LR won't cut it.

The same thing happens to me, Safari asks me to update the Adobe FlasPlayer, I download, start the installation process, ask me my username and password in order to install, then see a window where I choose if I want to always install the updates , or ask first, or not inslate updates, and at this point it is not progress, I can not cancel the process, I turn off and turn on my machine.
What can I do ..??

How to re-install CS3 on new MacBook Pro? [was: ADOBE REFUSES TO HELP ME]

I've downloaded their software and I received an error stating I must contact Adobe. So I do, and they REFUSE to assist because my licensed software is not the most current version. How do I place a call to them?

It is Adobe CS3 and I was reinstalling it onto a new Macbook Pro. I had a backup with Time Machine and I restored my files to the new laptop. Of course because of serial number conflict I needed to reinstall my software. The Macbook Pro no longer has a built in Super Drive so I downloaded the software off of the Adobe site. I uninstalled, and tried to reinstall but received a message stating there is a problem and to contact customer support. I did, via their chat system, and was told that they would not help me because it was CS3.
After uninstalling and restarting several times I finally resolved whatever the error was. I apologize for the long winded reply, but wanted this to be in a forum in the event someone like myself goes looking for self help answers. Thank you again!

One of my InDesign files will not open, when I attempt to open it, I get a message saying "Cannot open file, Adobe may not support the file format, a plug-in that supports the format may be missing or the file may be open in another application." I'm not exactly sure what the issue is as I opened another one of my files previously and that one is still working fine. I'm using Windows 7, if anyone can help me I would really appreciate it.

Right-click the file and choose Open With, then notepad, and post a screen capture of the first dozen or so lines of text.

I would first go to your Adobe Account and make sure that all info in it was correct and then match up all S/N's with your records. If you find any problems, then make corrections.
If all matches, but does not work, contact Adobe and see if they still sell replacement DVD's for CS2. Adobe usually does, for a small price. Still, you will need your correct S/N, so you will probably be back on the phone to Adobe. When I once used them for a S/N problem, they were quick and did a perfect job.
