I'm mainly working with CS5 Design Premium Suite (running OS 10.6.3) with users/myself and haven't been able to solve this problem. We utilize Active Directory logins and give the users admin rights ( I know...I know gotta love education). To get right down to it I'll list what I've tried on my machine and on someone else's with the exact problem.
    - MADE SURE NO OTHER ADOBE APPS OR AAM IS RUNNING AS A PROCESS (duh)
    - deleted any local adobe pref files, cache files and adobe application support files.
    - deleted login keychain
    - ran disk permissions
    - ran Adobe Cleaner and reinstalled the whole suite numerous times...did nothing
    - tried using both a different local and AD account, this did infact allow me to run the updates. This proves that either local accounts or AD account      can work...just not mine!!
    - I've even moved my user folder data so next time I logged in, it would create a new user folder. This still produced the same error. Does it have to      do with anything in the user directory services and permissions??
One pattern I found was using another account whether if it was a new local account or a fresh AD account logged in, I would get the prompt for the AAM to edit the system.privilege.admin file prior to it searching for availible updates. Logging in has myself I don't get this.... therefore it goes straight to the error message.
I hope there's a fix for this, I've learned far more than I ever wanted to learn about the file structure of the vast CS5 suite and its smaller AAMUpdater counterpart.

I have the same issue, particularly with Pixel Bender 2.5, all the other upgrades get installed correctly without trouble but this one always fail, the message I get is the same one every time:
Adobe Pixel Bender Toolkit 2.5 Update
      Installation failed
Can you point me in the right direction? It seems to me that the patch is faulty.
    Thanks.
    Update 01/15/2011
Here's another update on my issue with Adobe Application Manager, I just realized today that actually none of the available upgrades got installed. Although it only marks an error with Pixel Bender, other components such as Photoshop, Premiere and others aren't being upgraded either even when the program tells you otherwise, what I mean is that for example there's Photoshop 12.0.2 available for download so I click on "Update"; the files get downloaded and installed with no error message being displayed but when I check the software it is still version 12.0.1, the same is happening with Premiere and another one, can't remember which one.
This is additional to the issue of Pixel Bender being unable to upgrade.
    Please advise,
    Thanks,
    David.
    Update 01/16/2011
I tried to download all the available updates individually from the Adobe website, the only one that went through was Photoshop, but then when I double clicked it to install it the same faulty application manager launched and I got the same behavior than before, it runs the installation and displays a message that states that everything was installed correctly, yet there no upgrade performed.
All the rest of the available downloads failed to mount.
Also the speed for download is excessively low, I checked my connection and the issue is not on my end, but yours.
This is starting to become very frustrating.

  • Unable to update or reinstall iTunes or iPod software

I hope someone very knowledgable can help me with my dilema-
it appears that the driver for my iPod has become corrupted,
since all my songs no longer will display on it. I've attempted to
update and reinstall both the iTunes and iPod software, but each time
results in "1607: Unable to install the InstallShield Scripting Runtime."
I went to InstallShield's site and the Microsoft knowledgebase,
but nothing attempted so far seems to correct the problem(s).
Does anyone have any solutions? Please help!

The files that won't transfer are designated as AAC audio files; they have a bitrate of 128kbps w/ a samplerate of 44,100 KHz. I have other AAC as well as MPEG audio files in both the iTunes library and on the iPod that transferred and play w/o any problem. Have you or anyone else ever encountered while transferring songs to their iPod the message "Some songs in the iTunes library were not copied to the iPod because they cannot be played on this iPod." ????

  • Acrobat 7.0: how to download critical updates after reinstall?

We have a legal version of Acrobat 7, version 7.0.0, bought and downloaded via the Adobe website.
I still do have the original installer and did use it to reinstall Acrobat after a software crash. But there have been a few critical security updates in the past, which updated Acrobat to version 7.0.11 or 7.11 or so (I don't remember exactly). These updates were handled automatically from within Acrobat at that time via its auto-updater. However, today that auto-updater does not find these updates anymore. Nor are they available from my account at the download-section on the Adobe website (where the original installer still is available, but that one I already have).
So the question is: where do I find these critical security updates to Acrobat 7.0.0? And how do I download and save them locally for future reinstallations?
Upgrading to Acrobat 10 (or whatever) is no option, since this computer is too old and too slow. So I want to stay with Acrobat 7.x.x, but I would like to update it to its last stable state.
    Thanks.
    Geert

This is exactly what I was looking for, thanks.
What would be the best way to install these updates, in order to get all corrections? Take the last cumulative update (7.1.0 if I am correct? Or is it 7.05, this is not totally clear), and then install all remaining incrementals one by one? Should I restart the computer after each update, or just do them in one big shot?
By the way, I am using Windows indeed on this computer (Windows 2000, English).
    Thanks a lot,
    Geert

  • ? CS5 Unable to Update Camera Raw or Bridge

    Adobe support case #0181633618
I spent over three hours on the phone with Adobe's technician, and the problem is unresolved.
We un-installed CS5 Photoshop and reinstalled it as a "new user."  Install stopped midway to say there was an ISP problem.  We chose the option “install anyway."  This message was the same on the initial CS5 installation.  I upgraded from CS4.  Never a problem with CS4.
Turned off all antivirus and firewall software.
Could not find other Photoshop applications running while watching the Task Mgr.Processes.
We manually download the updates and also let Photoshop Updater download them.
Photoshop starts and runs fine, but will not update Camera Raw and/or Bridge.
Error message: "another version of Updater is running.  Try again later."
    Thanks,
    Bob

There are comprehensive answers in the Camera Raw forum and Bridge forum.

  • Adobe CS3 programs wont open after reinstalling...help please anyone?

    Hello
Im wondering if anyone know how to fix this...
Im running windows vista and my adobe creative suite 3 master collection decided to stop working and started saying there were errors and asking that i reinstall.  I unistalled the copy and reinstalled and now the programs wont even open, i get no error messages or anything the programs just dont open no matter how many times their clicked.
Ive uninstalled and reinstalled several times trying to install using my activation code, installing without just as a trial and nothing seems to make a difference.  Finally after about an hour of waiting Ive just got a message when opening fireworks saying "Licensing for this product has stopped working"  something about unistalling and reinstalling that I didnt manage to catch.  This is installed as the trial version so there should be no licensing issue... right?
Has anyone else had this happen to them and does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this problem?
    Thanks

Try the CS Cleaner tool before re-installing.

  • Can't install update after reinstalling photoshop CS2

I manually removed PS CS2 because of a problem with the 9.0.2 update. I reinstalled PS CS2(9.0). Then tried to update to 9.0.1 but the auto update tells me no available updates.
Did i miss something when removing PS CS2 thats makeing it think it is still 9.0.2?

First of all, if you installed the Adobe TWAIN plugin by moving it, put it back. (You can get this error if you move it instead of copying it to install it.) Also, if you have done anything to the auto analyzer, like renaming it, name it back to what it was before. Then restart your mac and try again.

  • Adobe Flash Player Security Updates after Windows XP End of Support

    Hi,
I have to check up for our customer, whether there will be any Security Updates for Adobe Flash Player on Windows XP after End of Support next year.
Haven't found any information on the web :-(
    Thanks in advance,
    Nicolai

I don't know, and like you, haven't seen anything.
    Here's what I do know.
Android dropped ALL support for Flash Playe June 2012 and Adobe continued to develop and release security updates for the older Android Flash Player versions up till September 10 of this year.
Support for Linux ended with version 11.2, but security fixes for Linux Flash Player are still being developed and released.
Given the still-widespread use of XP in schools and corporate environments, I'd have to say that support (at least security updates) will go on for a while after next June14 when Microsoft officially "sunsets" XP. How long that will be is not info I have.

  • Unable to update or reinstall Cyberlink MediaSuite 12

In summary: - HP Notebook 15-f111dx, product # J9H11UA, sn 5CD44478N3 - Windows 8.1 and Cyberlink MediaSuite 12 are factory installed  - Mediasuite stopped working and I cannot install cyberlink updates (not upgrades, updates):  error is "can only be installed on HP system" - none of the HP support tools work on my machine despite multiple super-clean reinstall attempts: errors are runs with blank screen or HSPF has stopped working. - none of the Microsoft MATS FixIt tools HP pointed me to would work on my machine either.  Error is "a error occurred and FixIt must close; then i linked to a troubleshooter for this error and got the error "check for connections to urls used in sdp service" but no further help. Windows 8.1 and Cyberlink MediaSuite 12 are factory installed on my machine.  I used several MediaSuite applications without problems for about six months until at some point I was unable to use PowerDVD.  I tried the "update" option within the suite but failed with the error "can only be installed on HP system".  With no spare time I downloaded VLC DVD player so I could play DVDs (for my daily exercise, so the software is used every day).   About a month later I had spare time to try again.  I succeeded in downloading MediaSuite 14, but now I find this was only a trial version.  Unfortunately now none of the MediaSuite 12 applications work.   I tried downloading Cyberlink Cleaner from the Cyberlink website but received an incomprehensible dialog box saying "failed script" with folder, line, char and code references.  The error code was 0x80041002 but I found nothing about this online.   I then went to hp support and tried to download the original files (without uninstalling mediasuite - it's still installed).  None of the HP support tools worked; neither HP support framework, HP support assistance, or HP download assistant.  I followed the many postings on this site about those tools and tried at least 6 times to do a clean uninstall, reboot, and reinstall of the tools.  I cleaned the registry with four different tools.  I uninstalled with several tools including the Control Panel version.  I saved and opened the files as admin from the download folder.  I did it with Avast shields down and firewall off.  None of the HP support tools works for me except that my device is recognized by the HP support website.   Aside from MediaSuite and HP support tools the machine is performing just fine.  I have made no major changes or software installs since buying the machine but so much time has passed now (about 3 months) that I can't get to a restore point when CyberLink MediaSuite worked.  Cyberlink MediaSuite is pretty much the only reason I bought this machine instead of a chromebook.  If I can't get this working soon I'll probably pony up for an Apple because I need a good video editor for my second job. I've spent a lot of time on this problem and I'm truly disappointed in both Cyberlink and HP support here.

Same here!!! I upgraded to Windows 10 and had (in an understated nutshell...) some issues, which ultimately resulted in a clean install of Windows 10. Everything works beautifully so far, except I lost my product key for Windows, (I think MS support is who will assist me with that when things calm down a bit) and I have only Windows and Microsofts default programs. The only thing on the download page here for my laptop aside from drivers is the support assistant and a couple of similar system utility tools, but no software at all that's not system maintenance related.  I also bought this PC over a couple of other choices specifically because it came with Cyberlink software!! I also bought an HP Chromebook 11 last year for school and it's now a paper weight due to the ever-popular "won't charge" problem, so if I am facing another darn-near brand-new pc that's useless to me (useless because I use that software regularly for both work and school, so it's a necessity for me) I will just.....CRY!!!!!! Any chance we can retrieve those bundled goodies??? Thanks!! Signed,Bad luck with great products girl in desperate mode

  • OS 10.2.0 Update after reinstall: "selector not recognized"

I received an iMac G3 400MHz running OS 10.2.x (I don't remember which exactly, but probably 10.2.8), but noticed that certain things were missing in Utilities, like Terminal, System Profiler, Disk Utility, etc. Ran the Software Update, which applied, as I remember, a security update. But the Utilities things were still missing, so I reinstalled the OS using an original OS 10.2 (Jaguar) installation disk set. That did an "Archive and Install", so the old OS is in "Previous System".
But now I can't apply any of the Combo Updates to 10.2: I've downloaded and tried 10.2.1, 10.2.2, 10.2.4, 10.2.6, and 10.2.8. All fail, with a message in the Console which says:
    Mac OS X Version 10.2 (Build 6C115)
    Installer[493] * +[IFGlobals isRunningOSInstall]: selector not recognized
I notice that the usual suggestion is to go back to an earlier update, but, as I said, I've tried them all.
I've also run the disk utility and repaired permissions. Also tried running this from another admin
    account.
    Can anyone suggest something?
    Thanks,
    Frank Huddleston

    Frank,
Also check to see if, the Firmware Update was ever upgraded.
This is a requirement, before OS X can be successfully installed.
If one is required, you must start the computer from a Mac OS 8 or Mac OS 9 System Folder on the computer's hard disk, not from a CD, in order to install it.
If it was updated, in System Profiler, the Boot ROM Version should be 4.1.9
If it was never installed, you can call Apple Support 1-800-767-2775, provide the serial number and specifications of the iMac, and for a fee, order a set of the original system discs.
If you do an Erase & Install of the original OS, you can then update the Firmware.

  • Updates after reinstalling OSX

Hello. I brought my MBA 13" mid 2011 to an apple store to change the cracked lcd. They reinstalled me the OSX Mountain Lion verision 10.8 for another problem, correlated to my user account. When I was home, i tried to update my mac via Mac App store, but it don't find any kind of that. I update it manually via the download section of apple.com at the version 10.8.2, but it still don't find any other updates, like printer drivers.
What can i do to fix it, without bring it an other time to an apple store?
    Thank you
    Giorgio

If you now have Mountain Lion 10.8.2, which INCLUDES all current updates and drivers available at this time, installed then you are done updating.
    Hope this helps
