I have adobe cs5 for windows. Now i have upgraded to a Mac , how do i custom my cs5 so it works on my mac. Reason im asking is because i do not want to have to purchase a new version.

You can also call Adobe customer service to discuss a crossgrade. There is a small charge to crossgrade but it is not like buying a new license. You will need to destroy/end your Windows license during this process.

Ok so I downloaded the most current installer CS5.1, My previous installer was version 5.0. It did install fine fully updated to my license version. I just wanted to update in case anyone in the future has a similiar experience. Too bad this advice was not offered by the "experts" here.

There are known technical issues with any older version on Yosemite, even CS6. Some can be worked out, others may not be relevant to you, some will remain unsolved.

Using Adobe CS5 on more then 1 device

I have Adobe CS5.1 Design Suite registered to my PC, however I now have a laptop (as does most people) that I would also like to be able to use the software on without having to purchase and entire new Suite. As I am a single user but have 2 devices, can I load the same Adobe suite onto my laptop? and if yes how can I find the registration number? do I need a different/new one? I do not have the old one and was not able to find it on my PC. Any help is appreciated thanks

You can install CS5 on two different devices. You'll probably have to have some proof that you bought the product since you can't remember the serial number and didn't register the product. Contact web support:

installing adobe cs5.5 on windows vista, bootstrapper error, missing installation files, adobe cleaner ran, but doesn't recognize cs5 installation. removed anti virus package(s), no effect. removed an problematic adobe reader X, no effect. adobe clean up tool was also used to clean up CS3 installation, log created for that, but that shouldn't be an issue regarding a new CS5.5 install. I continue to receive the same error message regardless... bootstrapper, missing installation files, anyone know what possibly could be wrong?

if eliminate all those things as issues:
1. were your installation files downloaded?
2. is there more than one installation file?
3. are your installation files on your desktop or in a directory on your desktop?

Adobe CS5.5 Production Premium Install Errors and Other Issues

Hi,
I just installed Adobe CS5.5 Production Premium on my computer and had some errors pop up at the end of installation. I will paste the summary below. I've tried to install Procction Premium a couple of times. I've used the Adobe Cleaner Tool. From what I've researched, the Flash Issue is a a false error since Flash was already installed on the computer. Is the rest of it connected to the Flash issue as well?
Thr programs all seem to work fine except for the issue below.
My other question is that when I am in Windows Explorer and I Right-Click on say a .jpg file and select Open With... I am not able to select Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator for that matter. I have Dreamweaver CS4 and that shows up as an option. I have gone through the process of trying to add the Adobe Photoshop .exe file, but it still doesn't work. However, if I open Adobe Bridge, I am able to select Photoshop or Illustrator to open a file. Is this connected to my install or is there something else going on? I did uninstall an ancient version of Adobe Photoshop 7.0 that I've had for years, but that was prior to installing Production Premium CS5. Could that have caused an issue? I read that uninstalling an old Photoshop can cause problems like this.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, your installation errors appear to be the innocuous false errors related to the brain-dead Flash installer. If the programs seem to be working fine, don't worry about it. As far as not being able to open images with Photoshop from Windows Explorer, I recommend taking that question to the Photoshop forum.

I'm having some trouble converting a network deployment package of CS5 Master Collection to run from a flashdrive.
The package is created using AAMEE and over the network it deploys fine(at least after deactivating UAC on windows 7). I have created a .bat file that runs the .msi file with the /quiet operator. Like this:

Adobe CS5 Applications open/save dialog boxes size always resets

So, since the Mountain Lion update, all of my Adobe CS5 save/open window dialog boxes reset their size each time. In my case they are too small, causing me to have to enlarge the window out every time, to be able to see file names/locations etc.
Not a massive issue, but rather annoying when I think of the time I'm wasting resizing windows hundreds of times a day, especially as this never used to happen.
Is this an Adobe issue?
Can anyone using Adobe CS6 on Mountain Lion tell me if they experience this too?

I came here looking for this very same help. It is driving me crazy. It happened when I recently updated to Mountain Lion. It has to be a Mountain Lion problem, as I'm using the very same Adobe products that I've used for years and it never occurred before.
I'm also having the problem with Mountain Lion resizing my coverflow finder windows every time I open them. Also completely annoying.
How do I get the windows (saving and coverflow) to stay in the same position as I last had them versus resetting to some default position every time I open them or click on a new file? Very annoying.

Problem with Maverik and Adobe CS5

To use Adobe CS5 I need Java SE 6 runtime my Mac is telling me after I have installed Maveril. Has anybody a solution for me? Thank you in advance.

Hi McBlob. I've seen a lot of your helpful comments on here and was hoping if you can help me.
I just got a new iMac running 10.9.1. Like a lot of other users, I can't open up Adobe InDesign CS5.
Illustrator and Photoshop are fine. I did go to the web link you've provided and downloaded the correct Java app twice and restarted my computer each time. Still can't load Indesign. Could there perhaps be another version of Java on my Mac that I need to take off that's interfering? If so, how can I determine that.
Please let me know if you'd like to see the code I get in the dialog box when InDesign crashes.
