As for Photoshop CS6 itself, I have no issues running
it on Mavericks on my 2011 Mini Server.
Also, before upgrading, make sure any drivers for third
party hardware are up to date and compatible with Mavericks.

  • Find filter problem with Adobe CS6 and Mavericks

    Hi to all!
I've 2 new MacPro with OSX 10.9 (is no possible to downgrade) with Adobe Illustrator CS6 and all software are full updated at the last version.
Firs of all I've found a problem after a last firmware update of my 2 MacPro, in samba connection, solved by AFP implement; in detail:
I've a Qnap storage with samba and afp shares, so when I connect the samba share the search function in finder not find any, but if I connect the same share via AFP protocol, all works good.
Ok, it's a problem but no so bad for me because I've the possibility to use AFP ;-)
    Ok, now the big problem:
when I use the CS5 Illustrator and I execute the "insert" command, the search window show blank screen in the search area if I select a qnap sared folder (AFP or SAMBA shared get the same result, 0 element found)
After many and many tests I've solved with a workaround: I've forced the Finder to index the shared folder (from the command line in the console) and in this case I've no more problem...
The problem affect only the afp and samba share, with the local folder (volumes) I don't have any problem.
So, I can't downgrade Maveriks, and I'm sure the problem is not of CS6... then my only solution is to wait a future update of Mavericks?! or anyone can suggest me a solution?
    Thank you for any reply.
    Paolo

  • Which is more important for Adobe CS6 and FCX on imac? Processor or Graphics Card?

Hi, I want to get the new 27" imac when it comes out this December. It will be my first mac although I have both an iPhone and iPad. I'm and artist and aspiring filmmaker and want to run Adobe CS6 and Final Cut Pro on it. I'm looking at the highest 27" but have limited funds for additional upgrades. Apart from RAM, what would i be better off upgrading on the imac? Going from the i5 to the i7? or going for the GTX 680mx Graphics card with 2gb of memory? or going for the 1TB Fusion drive? If you could only pick one or possibly 2, which would be the best to choose for video and graphics on the programs I mentioned? (I'm not into gaming, so performance on that front is of no concern to me)

    I don't have CS6...
    1) I would max out the video card. FCP X and Motion 5 uses the GPU over the CPU for processing power. Once you buy your new iMac you can't upgrade this...
    2) FCP X and Motion 5 will use all the ram you can throw at it. I have 16 GB of ram and both programs at times uses all 16 GB of ram. I really should bump up my ram to 32 GB. I would say 16 GB is the minimum for video.
    3) The processor would be last on my list. Computers are really fast even with an i5 processor. Once you buy your new iMac you can't upgrade this...
This is the iMac I bought last year:
    27" iMc mid-2011
    3.4GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7
    16GB 1333MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 4x4GB
2TB Serial ATA Drive + 256GB Solid State Drive
    AMD Radeon HD 6970M 2GB GDDR5

  • Adobe Dreamweaver CS6 and Mavericks

    Hi everyone,
I have recently upgraded to Mavericks on my Mac, however I am now experiencing seriously problems with Adobe Dreamweaver CS6. The program is running shockingly slow. It takes literally 10 minutes to open the program, whereas before the upgrade it took less an 1 minute! clicking any menu options or even a site element, or typing text takes ages to respond.
I posted in Adobe forums, and one answer was to disable Nap App, but it is already checked as disabled (grey out too), Adobe respoded directly by suggesting clearing the program cashe and preferences.
Other forums I have seen with similar problems suggest it is a Java issue. Dreamweaver requires Java SE6, I had Java 7JRE, and & JDK, which I uninstalled, and then re-installed Java 6, through a link to an Apple which downloaded a file (JavaForOSX2013-05), although I tried confirming that I was now running Java SE6 though Terminal and go the following message back:

I really need to get Dreamweaver functionaing again properly and any help and support on this issue whould be greatly appreciated.
    Kind Regards,
    Ash Bullman

I am not sure what's the resolution to your problem. I don't want to install Java 6SE in Mavericks either because it's an old software; however, I have not been able to launch any apps in CS3 or CS5. Sooner or later, I'll have to surrender if I want to use any of those software.

  • How do I uninstall adobe cs6 and re install it

I had to wipe my mac's hard drive. When I went to put CS6 back onto my computer I dragged it from my external hard drive. Now every time I try to open one of the programs I am being told to uninstall it and reinstall it via error 16
When I went to try and find the uninstaller it doesn't show up on my utilities. Is there a way I can reinstall it onto my computer. I do not have the original external hard drive with me as i am out of the country and I do not have the download. Is there a way I can get the download again since I only have the software on one computer?

  • Placing an Image in Dreamweaver CS6 and Mavericks

To place an image in a web page, I have always been able to drag the file (say jpeg) from the Macintosh Finder and drop it into the web page.  I'm using Dreamweaver CS6 and it worked fine with Lion, but stopped working with Mavericks.  Can anyone tell me how to turn this capability back on?

No image is placed.  Nothing blows up.  And I can't find a preference setting to turn this on. It's a mystery to me why this is happening.
I write software for the Mac (WildTools) so I'm pretty good at debugging things, but this has be stumped.

  • Macbook Pro early 2011, Adobe CS6 and open gl 2.0

    Hi,
I would like to upgrade to adobe cs6 on my MBP early 2011 (lion).  One of the requirements is "OpenGL 2.0–capable system".  How do I check for this?  If I'm running CS 5.5 should I be fine to upgrade?
    Any help would be appreciated.

You can easily go ahead and upgrade
    Lion has OpenGL 3.2.

  • Can i use Adobe CS6 and Autodesk in iMac 21 inch?

    First, I'm a student.
I consider to buy a iMac these few week
I am confused to choose the suitable one
iMac 21" i read the specification, it showed 5400rpm, 512mb display
but the Adobe website said CS6 NEED 7200rpm and recommand 1gb display
    Unfortunate, 21" is my limited
and i think Fusion Drive can solve it or not?
how can i change display card with a iMac?
    Please help me.

    Hello Vincent,
You can't change the Video card in the 21" iMac at all, & on the 27" you can only opt for a better Video at time of ordering.
Fusion drive will overcome muxh of the 7200 RPM requirement.
    For CS6 Photoshop...
    Mac OS
Multicore Intel processor (64-bit processors only)
    Mac OS X v10.6.8 or v10.7 (64-bit application only)
    1GB of RAM
2GB of available hard-disk space for the files; additional free space required during installation (cannot install on a volume that uses a case-sensitive file system or on removable flash storage devices)
1024x768 display (1280x800 recommended) with qualified hardware-accelerated OpenGL graphics card, 16-bit color, and minimum 512MB of VRAM (Recommended - 1 GB)
    DVD-ROM drive

Other Adobe Apps may have different requirements, but PShop should do OK...

If getting the 21.5", I'd recommend the 16 GB RAM upgrade at order time, you cannot upgrade ot later.

  • Managing fonts in Adobe CS6 and Windows 7

Previously I had students add their fonts to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Fonts. This worked well. I gave them write access to this folder and they would drag their fonts into this folder and they would be available to all products from the Creative Suite. This was when our school was on CS5.5 and Windows XP.
Over the weekend we reimaged the machines to have Windows 7 (64-bit) and CS6. Students can no longer add fonts to Adobe, as I am unsure of where the fonts folder is. They also cannot add fonts system wide, as they are not given admin access to these folders (which makes sense). I have tried to add fonts to the folder found at "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Fonts" but this does not make the font available to Adobe CS6 applications.
Is there a way to have fonts added to Adobe? I know that there are manny different applications that can manage fonts; can the Adobe forum users recommend one? I don't want students to be able to affect system wide fonts. I have dealt with the repercussions of giving students access to the Windows fonts folder.
Help in this would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Blake

I have been hodling off upgrading to CS4 for a year now, since Adobe has not make any statements about Windows 7 support.  If adobe has release some statements, can someone point me to the statement?

What is the possible release schedule for CS5, I am thinking May 2010?
That's as good as anyone else's guess.
    CS: Sep 2003
    CS2: April 2005 (19 months)
    CS3: April 2007 (24 months)
    CS4: Oct 2008 (19 months)
CS5:  May 2010 would be 19 months - but only Adobe knows the real date.

  • Adobe CS6 and m4a files

Adobe CS6 opens and edits m4a files on my Mac like a champ.  When I try to do the same on my PC, all kinds of error screens.  What gives?
    Any simple solutions?
    Thank you.

I don't know what the exactly correct answer is (there may not be one), but this is all going to be down to codecs on the PC version. M4a is something that Macs handle inherently, and the codec for turning them into wav files and back again (this is the only file type that Audition handles) is part of Core Audio. Same does not apply to PCs, unfortunately. I think that the provision has been improved in CC, but it has also been suggested that unfortunately, the best way of handling this is to use an external converter...

  • Adobe CS6 and SSD

Can I install Adobe CS6 on SSD drive? And how to configure it for normal operation? To become much more productive system? Or better is needed for disk cache? (for Premier Pro and After Effects). Where you can read about it? Thanks in advance.

Just to add to Mylenium's response you will want to also make sure you have a sufficiently large SSD to hold your OS and your installed applications.  A common question which seems to come up is where users are trying to install the apps on a standard drive due to having insufficient space on the SSD.  This eliminates almost any performance gain which could be obtained from the use of the SSD.

  • Adobe CS6 and OX compatibility

I am having problems with Fonts in In Design CS6 and Photoshop 6 (only programs I've tried after upgrading from CS5). It was suggested I make sure my Font Book is upgraded. I have  OX 10.6.8 and font book 2.2.2 (163.2). According to my Update Software, I am up to date. I tried to upgrade to OS X 10.8.3 but it says I need 10.8 and I don't see that. What's the story? I'm confused!

  • Adobe CS6 and Retina iMac

    Hi
Has anybody had any experience of the Adobe CS6 Creative Suite package and it's compatibility with the new Retina iMac?
Any advice would be gratefully received.

    K

    Here is what I have:
MacBook Pro Retina 15-inch (late 2013)
Mac OS 10.9.5 (also have 10.10 partitions on this system)
    PrPro CS6 (v. 6.0.5 - 001)
as well as AI, Br, Au, ID, Pl, PS CS6 and several others (basically , the CS6 collection + Acrobat, but not Lightroom
So we're close enough in setup to be reasonably sure that it's not specific to that. At this point I recommend going through this basic list of troubleshooting steps, if you have not already:
Sign out from Creative Cloud, restart Premiere Pro, then sign in
    Update any GPU drivers
    Trash preferences
Ensure Adobe preference files are set to read/write
    Delete media cache
    Remove plug-ins
If you have AMD GPUs, make sure CUDA is not installed
    Repair permissions
In Sequence Settings > Video Previews, change the codec to one that matches your footage
    Disconnect any third party hardware
    Reboot
