  • Question + Adobe Design Premium CS3 Problem

    Question:
When I boot up Leopard after the grey apple logo loading screen it will turn to the blue screen then directly to my desktop. In tiger it would go to the blue screen then you would see a window with a loading bar. Did they remove that in Leopard because I don't see it, it just goes directly from the blue screen to my desktop.
    Adobe Design Premium Problem:
I installed Adobe Design Premium CS3, I got some functionality problems so I deleted it from my Applications folder to re-install the trial software as I was in a hurry to get InDesign working because I had an assignment due. When I tried to install InDesign CS3, it would tell me during the installation that I can't install it because of "Adobe InDesign CS3". I am assuming that it still thinks that InDesign CS3 is installed? I made sure that I had deleted all the Adobe software from my computer. It did this with my other applications too when using my CD to install Design Premium again. It's like I'm locked out of installing it? I've heard of other people having the same problem.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks.

If there isn't an answer, it usually means other users don't know the answer.
As far as the Adobe suite goes, there are two steps to deleting the suite. The first is deactivating it (I think that's on the Help menu), and the second is running the installer with the Uninstall option so that all of the files it installs in various places are removed. Is that how you did it, or did you just throw files in the Trash? If you trashed them manually, there are probably pieces left behind that are getting in the way.
That is all I know about that one. For potentially much more information, you should drop by the Adobe user forums, where there should be many more users with direct experience with the Adobe-specific install/uninstall issues. Try clicking on the "Creative Suite" forum there.

if you're using the same computer hardware to reinstall your cs3, you don't need to deactivate first.
but if there's a significant hardware change you can ask adobe support for an activation count reset. contact adobe support by clicking here and, when available, click 'still need help', https://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html

  • Adobe [program name] CS3 has stopped working....

I am attempting to run programs from the Adobe CS3 suite on my laptop, which runs with Windows Vista. My Adobe CS3 programs all show the "Adobe [program name] CS3 has stopped working" message, followed by a brief attempt to fix the problem by windows. Until this morning, the programs had been running without incident for several months.
Does problem sound familiar? What can be done to solve it?

Lots of things are known to cause issues with the CS3 installer, including besides the obvious antivirus and spyware scanners and firewalls things like iTunes, instant messengers, browser helper toolbars like the Google Toolbar, and previous versions of the Flash player, which I would have thought would be removed by the clean script, but there is a tool here: http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=tn_14157&sliceId=2
Also, be sure jscript.dll is properly registered. It won't hurt to do that again. Click Start > Run and type regsvr32 jscript.dll with the space, but without the quotes, and hit enter. You should see a dialog saying it was successful.
Click Start > Run and type MSconfig and hit enter. Disable all non-essential services and all non-essential items in the startup items, particularly anything to do with Anti-virus, spyware protection or third party firewalls, and then reboot. You can hide all Microsoft service in the services tab of MSconfig to make it easier, and most of whats left will be non-essential, though if anything looks like it has to do with your DVD drive or your mouse youll want to leave it checked. Its probably safe to turn off everything in the Startup tab, but again, if you recognize a mouse driver, leave it on. MSconfig will run as soon as you restart the computer and if everything seems OK, just cancel for the moment.
Be sure the Windows firewall is disabled. Third-party firewalls should have been disabled in Msconfig. Other things that should be disabled include any instant messenger, iTunes, and Google toolbars or similar from other vendors if you run them.
Be sure Java is enabled in the browser, and that you have a default printer (LOCAL - can be fax viewer if necessary) online.
After the installer runs, reboot, and when MSconfig starts change it back to "Normal Startup" and reboot again.

  • My Adobe Acrobat X (CS6) suddenly stopped working!

My Adobe Acrobat X (CS6) suddenly stopped working, I can't open or edit documents.  I am on Windows 8.1, this just started happening yesterday. I have re-installed it to repair any possible problems, I am a registered user. Please help me!! Can't submit my assignments if I can't use my product!

The license info would be on the jewel case or CD that you got from the university. If it was downloaded, they typically provide the license key in that process that you have to write down or copy. As long as you are still covered under the license, maybe another individual has the license key available. It would be appropriate for them to ask for confirmation on your payment of the license fee or whatever process the university has.
In the meantime, go to the Start>Control Panel>Programs & ... When the program list comes up search for Acrobat.exe and do a repair.

  • Set up and install files for adobe design premium cs3

Where are the files found? I've copied the program files and can find the files to install

if you follow all 7 steps you can directly download a trial here:  http://prodesigntools.com/download-adobe-cs4-and-cs3-free-trials-here.html
and activate with your serial number.
if you have a problem downloading, you didn't follow all 7 steps, or your browser does not accept cookies.
the most common problem is caused by failing to meticulously follow steps 1,2 and/or 3 (which adds a cookie to your system enabling you to download the correct version from adobe.com).
failure to obtain that cookie results in an error page being displayed after clicking a link on prodesigntools.com

  • Adobe Design Premium CS3 moved folders

So after I installed Adobe DP CS3 in my app folder, I decided to put all the applications under one folder for better management. After I did this, I moved the folder to my dock as one of those expandable folders you can have right of the seperator on the dock.
When I opened Adobe InDesign, a message said it noticed the folder has been moved from the original place and needs to be repaired, so I repaired it. I knew all the other adobe programs were affected so I repaired all of them - except one.
Bridge keeps quitting unexpectedly, before I can click the repair button. I tried relaunching it but it doesn't work. So I moved it back to the Applications folder and opened it from there and it works fine. I don't want to have one adobe program floating around outside the folder where all the other programs are. Does anyone know how to solve this problem?

You should not move a folder to the dock - rather you should simply create an alias or pointer to the actual folders. It's not even clear you can move a folder to the dock.
When you "moved" the folder to the dock, did the original one go away? If it did, then that's not the thing to do.
Just like the Document "folder" in the dock is not the actual folder, but an alias.
If you right-click a real folder you will see a "Get Info" and other items. If you right-click a "folder" or app in the dock you will see something completely different.

  • Photoshop CS3 suddenly stopped working

When I start up Photoshop I usually get a dialog box asking about registration which I usually ignore and click on register later. However, tonight when I've come to open it the dialog box appears but is blank and I can't get past it. I can't open any files and I can't quit without doing a force quit. Same goes for Illustrator CS3. I've been using CS3 for about the last 3-4 years but never had any problems like this.
    Can anyone offer advice?

    try this
    disconnect from internet
    start cs3
    say never to error box
    reconnect to internet
    This should solve problem

  • Upgrading Indesign from 'Design Premium' CS3 to CS5 - compatibility

I work in-house in marketing; we're looking at upgrading two of our Adobe Design Premium CS3 suites to the CS5 version. We have four or five CS3 suite licenses but can only afford to upgrade two of them at present.
My question is about the InDesign element - do we need to have the CS4 version in order to be able to effectively save down to a version that can be used between InDesign CS3 and CS5?
I'm worried about compatibility internally and externally - we use a lot of freelance designers who mostly use CS5 - this is already causing issues as we cannot open the files they send.
Any tips/hints you can give would be gratefully received!

The ONLY way to get a file from CS5 to open in CS3 is to export from CS5 to.idml, open that in CS4, export from there to .inx, and open that in CS3. Ther esults won't look a whole lot like the original CS5 file, especially if any features were added in CS4 or CS5 have been used, and there may be noticable changes in text flow due to text engine differences between versions.
Working in collaboration across different versions is a lousy workflow.

Be sure to follow the steps outlined in the Note: Very Important Instructions section on the download pages at this site and have cookies enabled in your browser or else the download will not work properly.

  • Adobe Photoshop CS3 has stopped working... HELP?

Everytime I try to make a GIF, and I select the length of the video, and press okay, a box comes out saying: Adobe Photoshop CS3 has stopped working. I've tried the "CTRL-ALT-SHIFT," but it doesn't work! Please help? ):
I make a GIF like this: File-Import-Video Frames to Layers.
Oh, and I have a Adobe Photoshop CS3 Extended.

    You'll probably going to have to uninstall, then re-install the application; but you need to provide a lot more information;
    BOILERPLATE TEXT:
Note that this is boilerplate text.
If you give complete and detailed information about your setup and the issue at hand,
such as your platform (Mac or Win),
exact versions of your OS, of Photoshop (not just "CS6", but something like CS6v.13.0.6) and of Bridge,
your settings in Photoshop > Preference > Performance
the type of file you were working on,
machine specs, such as total installed RAM, scratch file HDs, total available HD space, video card specs, including total VRAM installed,
what troubleshooting steps you have taken so far,
    what error message(s) you receive,
if having issues opening raw files also the exact camera make and model that generated them,
if you're having printing issues, indicate the exact make and model of your printer, paper size, image dimensions in pixels (so many pixels wide by so many pixels high). if going through a RIP, specify that too.
    etc.,
someone may be able to help you (not necessarily this poster).
a screen shot of your settings or of the image could be very helpful too.

  • Adobe Photoshop CS3 has stopped working: A problem caused the program to stop working correctly.

I recently purchased a new desktop computer and installed Adobe CS3 Master Edition on it and I get the following error:
Adobe Photoshop CS3 has stopped working: A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.
Out of the entire suite of tools only Photoshop will not launch. The weird thing is i also had the same Adobe programs installed on my laptop and I have not made any installation updates to that machine and i am getting the same error. I have always installed the same software on my two home machines with no problem until now. Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Andy

  • Windows 7   " Adobe Photoshop CS3 has stopped working "

Okay let me stir up a whole new kettle of fish WINDOWS 7 VS CS3 PHOTOSHOP.
I have Windows 7 Ultimate Edition 64bit. I am running (or trying) CS3 Master suite. Most all progams function except Photoshop. I try to load it and I get "Adobe Photoshop CS3 has stopped working" and then there is no fix and no help. Photoshop ran on Vista 64bit just fine.
I'm curious if anyone else is having this same issue? If so have you found any clue as to the issue?
I get the feeling this could be a conflict with a windows 7 update or something?
    Any fixes?

Try right clicking on the PS CS3 icon and run as admin. I can tell you that people have a lot of problems in running PS CS3 in Windows 7 and had to download the Windows XP virtual and run CS3 in virtual mode.
Anyways here is a link to the suite forums. They may have a better answer there for you.
