Adobe Design Standard CS3

Hello all.
I have searched high and low and tried following many tutes and guides for the silent Adobe CS3 install. I persistently receive Error Codes with no explanation. I'm appealing to anyone on this forum if they can advise me of the correct procedure for getting Adobe CS3 installed using ARD.
Further I'd also like to role out Office 2004 using ARD for which I also can't find a decent guide to installing these programs.
Finally if anyone can let me know how I can get application icons on the Dock of our network users. Or wake up the macs if they've gone to sleep on their own. I can't seem to wake them using ARD. All computers are in the same 172.17.50.xx subnet.
Our setup is a Windows based network with our suite of iMacs authenticating against an active directory. I've setup local administrator users on all the iMacs to allow ARD with full privileges. I'm running the ARD server on my mac book pro.
Please heeeeeeeeelp.

Thank you for responding dude. I'm gonna try this http://blog.irisink.com/?p=106 for my CS3 install. I will look for a guide on creating an Office 2004 package. I felt quite the fool after telling my boss Apple ARD will mean we can have a mixed OS college and will give me as much control over the Apples as the network manager has over the PCs. Then only to find the main apps that the art dept. need I can't roll out using ARD. It is heartening to know there is a way - just another skill for me to learn. Is it difficult to roll your own package ?
Can I just get away with copying the Office disk volume to the remote computers which is effectively what you do to install office ?
As a note for anyone else with Adobe silent install problems, there are many. Adobe won't help unless you've got a support contract. Their advice to me was well unless you spend x hundreds on a support contract you are able to install a machine at a time from the DVD so go away. I was most annoyed.
Power saving options are all set, I've solved this kind of by setting all the machines to power on at 0730 and the only thing that can sleep is the display after 30 mins, ie the computer sleeps Never. I might schedule a computer sleep at 1900 knowing it'll wake up the next day. Our network people don't like the macs so if I go asking for changes to the switches they will probably freak out
Cheers for your help

  • Adobe Design Standard CS3 compatible with Windows 8pro 64bit?

Hallo, I've just changed my notebook. It has Windows 8 Professional 64 bit.
Is it possibile to install Adobe Design Standard CS3 there?
    Thanks

Possibly, but then again maybe not. You won't know until you try. Works without a hitch for some people, is nothing but trouble for others. Depends too much on teh specifics of the system and the Windows configuration used...

  • Design Standard CS3 Keeps Crashing

I have Design Standard CS3, I've had it for a couple years now. It's always worked just fine but lately all the programs associated with it are crashing. This consists of Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator. It sometimes crashes when I open things. If I get it open at all I can work on it but it's pointless because whenever I try to save or export any of it, the program crashes. If it matters I'm working on a Mac OS 10.4 which seems to be working fine, no other programs are crashing. I have other Adobe programs, they're working fine. I've tried uninstalling, reinstalling it, still having problems. I'm at a loss of what to do. I've also tried installing various updates, still no go. Any advice you have you be great, thanks in advance.

first i would rule out user Preferences (reinstalling does not delete preferences)
    >>create a New User account and test...
if the problem clears in New User, go back to old user and begin trashing preferences
if not, then use something like Cocktail OSX to clear caches
Disk Utility> Repair Disk (and making sure your boot and scratchdisk HDs have plenty of free open unfragmented space)
    and rule out your fonts
next an OSX Archive install may help
if none of that works, i would put in a new hard drive and start from scratch (not migrating problems back into it)

  • Design Standard CS3 for Mac - cannot update either through installers or through "update' button - message: cannot connect to internet

    Hello:
    Hoping someone can help me.
    I have a mid 2010 MacBook Pro.
I use the Design Standard CS3 Adobe suite.
    I have the following issues:
    1. CANNOT update from Illustrator CS3 13 to 13.0.2.
    - If I try hitting the update button through the Illustrator menu I get the error message " Cannot connect to the Internet. Please check your settings and/or firewall" .
    - I try using the standalone updater recommended as a fix in the forums, that says update failed as well.
Have uninstalled. re installed, clean installed CS3 about 5-7  times so far with no luck.
Followed all the rules, ran the cleaner
The update problem has always been there as long as I can remember. I think the issue started with Mountain Lion when I lost access to printers via CS3 and Illustrator/Photoshop would frequently crash after a layer "move".
Since like everyone else Ie paid a small fortune for this software, I finally decided I needed to do everything I could to update it, but am still unable to!
    2. Since recently upgrading to Yosemite, Illustrator launch is very random - sometimes it does, sometimes it doesnt.
    - Have installed Java RunTime as mentioned in forums, hasn't helped.
Slightly at my wits end here with this madness, any workarounds or solutions much appreciated, especially for point 1.
    Many thanks!

Hi venkatnil, I am suddenly having the same problem with my CS3 after recently upgrading to Yosemite. I have actually been working with Photoshop, InDesign and even opened Illustrator to make sure I still could. No problems until one morning I couldn't open Photoshop. It was saying it "could not initialize because it couldn't find the disk". But just Photoshop; all the others still work fine.
So, I have another disk (not the one that originally installed CS3 all those years ago) to load Photoshop CS3. But it won't load and says "required resources are missing".
Looking around here for some answers I saw your post and realized that I've always had that same problem with the updater not able to find internet connection, too. AND I had to download an older version of Java RunTime, which seemed to go smoothly.
Now that a month or so have passed, I'm hoping you found a way to deal with this problem and can share it with me?! Or have we run into some small bug between CS3 and Yosemite that no one is going to bother with?

You can also download the trial version of the software thru the page linked below and then use your current serial number to activate it.
Be sure to follow the steps outlined in the Note: Very Important Instructions section on the download pages at this site and have cookies enabled in your browser or else the download will not work properly.

if you're using the same computer hardware to reinstall your cs3, you don't need to deactivate first.
but if there's a significant hardware change you can ask adobe support for an activation count reset. contact adobe support by clicking here and, when available, click 'still need help', https://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html

I purchased Adobe Design Standard in June 1993 and have not downloaded it until now. when I click on the software on my account there is no download button. How can I download the software I purchased so long ago? I hope it is not money down the drain. Is there any phone number available so I can talk to an Adobe employee?

Which version of Design Standard are you asking about?  I don't think any Creative Suite packages existed in 1993.  I think the first CS came out in 2003.

  • Adobe Design Standard for Student

    Hi there,
I'd like to purchase Adobe Design Standard. But I have a big problem understanding the system you are working with. I'm a student from Romania in the 1st year of Political Sciency University and I'd like to get and Adobe Design Standard for Student License. How do I'm going to get it? Because I've read all the instructions and didn't understand a thing. Can anyone help me? I've just switch with an iMac and I'd like to buy a CS6 license for student. This means I can use in commercial ways before and after the study years ends right? Also the license comes with the CD/DVD for install?
Also I'm running on Mac OS X 10.7.4 (just updated yesterday). Is the pack going to work on this version?
    Looking forward for the answer,
    Best regards,
    Tudoran Alexandru

I would recommend starting by reviewing the Education FAQ - http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/education-faq.html.  It discusses everything from do you qualify to how to submit your proof of eligibility.  You will want to look at the process which is relevant for your region.

  • Installing Design Standard CS3 without Flash Player 9...?

    Hi,
I hope someone can advise me here?
I would love to be able to install Design Standard CS3 without the Flash Player 9 Plugins... Both Active X and Plug-In versions.
    Is this at all possible?
I have scanned through the various XML files on the install DVD and have seen entries for both Active X and Plugin versions of Flash Player 9 in the setup.xml file.
Removing these lines from the XML doesn't make any difference and Flash Player is still installed as part of the CS3 install.
I have also tried renaming the folders containing the Flash MSI's and the installation fails at the 'Shared Components' stage.
I'm obviously missing a trick here but hoped someone might know the answer?
    Many thanks,
    Gav

I'm sure there are deployment instructions and tools for CS3 somewhere in the Dev Center. If this is only for your own perusal, then don't bother. any isntall of a newer version of Flash Player will superceed the old one.

  • Question + Adobe Design Premium CS3 Problem

    Question:
When I boot up Leopard after the grey apple logo loading screen it will turn to the blue screen then directly to my desktop. In tiger it would go to the blue screen then you would see a window with a loading bar. Did they remove that in Leopard because I don't see it, it just goes directly from the blue screen to my desktop.
    Adobe Design Premium Problem:
I installed Adobe Design Premium CS3, I got some functionality problems so I deleted it from my Applications folder to re-install the trial software as I was in a hurry to get InDesign working because I had an assignment due. When I tried to install InDesign CS3, it would tell me during the installation that I can't install it because of "Adobe InDesign CS3". I am assuming that it still thinks that InDesign CS3 is installed? I made sure that I had deleted all the Adobe software from my computer. It did this with my other applications too when using my CD to install Design Premium again. It's like I'm locked out of installing it? I've heard of other people having the same problem.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks.

If there isn't an answer, it usually means other users don't know the answer.
As far as the Adobe suite goes, there are two steps to deleting the suite. The first is deactivating it (I think that's on the Help menu), and the second is running the installer with the Uninstall option so that all of the files it installs in various places are removed. Is that how you did it, or did you just throw files in the Trash? If you trashed them manually, there are probably pieces left behind that are getting in the way.
That is all I know about that one. For potentially much more information, you should drop by the Adobe user forums, where there should be many more users with direct experience with the Adobe-specific install/uninstall issues. Try clicking on the "Creative Suite" forum there.

  • How to switch licensed for "ADOBE DESIGN STANDARD" from iMac to Macbook Pro?

I am currently licensed for "ADOBE DESIGN STANDARD" on an iMac. I have a new MacBook Pro and want to use that instead of the iMac. Do i need to get a new license key? or ??
I know i can download an "eval" copy on the laptop, but how do i switch license keys? i'm not even sure i still have the (valid) license key for the iMac...can i request another??

As long as you are staying within the same general platform (PC vs Mac) you do not need to change licensing.  You are allowed to have two activated installations with your license, so you should be able to install on the new machine without having to worry about the older one at all (unless you ever want to free up the second activation for yet another machine).  As you mentioned, you can download the trial version and use the serial number from your purchase to activate it to full use.
If you registered your software with Adobe, the serial number should be available via your Adobe account online.  If you didn't register it then you will at least understand why it pays to do so.
IF you end up needing to resolve any issues with activating the product on the new machine you will need to contact Adobe Support directly.  Here are some links to help make contact:
