That guy was this gal I believe :-) and you're welcome.
Once you know your way around fireworks and how to create a
comp, then
moving that to Dreamweaver isn't that difficult if you also
follow the CSS
tutorials at the Adobe site. (look for the ones by Adrian
Senior - from
beginner onwards).

You can believe what you like, but it won't change the truth.
CS6 is a Cocoa application, and Retina support requires Carbon (or the other way around, I'm a Windows user). It's not a matter of adding a few lines of code to make the change, it required rewriting the entire program from the ground up.

Use of the Professional Development Centre requires membership in the ACM. Therefore you are correct, you must pay for ACM membership to access the courses.
Let me know what you think when you are done. I had the opposite reaction to the "ABAP 6.10 Overview" course. It seems the Overview is well named and that is gives a nice high level introduction to ABAP, but that it is not detailed enough to get someone programming new ABAP without additional materials or training.

Any experience while buying Adobe Developer Support case(s)?

Hi,
Adobe instead of answering Acrobat SDK related questions properly in this Developer's forum tries to push me/my company to become an Adobe Solution Partner and buy Adobe Developer Support case(s) to resolve all undocumented or better to say not fully documented as it should Acrobat SDK issues.
Now, I'd like to ask other developers here - do you really have any experience while buying those Developer Support cases? What is the cost of each separate one? Under Silver Solution Partner program you could get 7 cases, but need to pay about 1700 EUR, which is really huge cost.
And what is a separate Developer Support case? For example - solving a problem with Cyrillic text output and possible memory leak with JPEG generation (both issues reported by me and unresolved in this forum) will require 2 cases or could be solved via just a 1?
I'll really appreciate your answers on this topic. If someone from Adobe Sales could look at this - it would be great as well.

Do you follow all my recent postings in this forum? If so - then you should understand that I don't expect to pay Adobe anything ahead (even with some mysterious REFUND possibility) in regards to its SDK usage. Otherwise - I expect Adobe to promote its SDK to all possible developers worldwide and tell everybody, that its state of the art piece of software and if we find anything suspicious in functionality - it will be fixed right away.
Of course I could switch to some Open Source PDF generation libraries (I'm aware at least of 2 of them), but why should I if I'm partnering with big customer who has Acrobat Professional Volume Licensing in place and thus it's already proven fact that Acrobat Professional license is bought and Adobe got money for that already.
Let me compare with IBM once again - they have such nice Design Partner Program in place (where my company is actively participating for last 3 years) and it costs my company 0 cents to use latest versions of some products and report issues for everything as well as APIs. Well, there is proper NDA for that, but Adobe could have that as well and I see no reason why not.
So, if this forum is mostly for some enthusiasts rather that for serious developers - then I could understand all those Adobe restrictions. But otherwise - really not.

Cannot Connect to Adobe Developer's Toolbox, ADDT, forums

I have been trying to connect to ADDT forum for weeks now. It
does not matter how many times I try I cannot connect to it I
always get this msg "The connection was reset' Bla bla bla
but I can connect to all the other forums
no problem just can;t connect to the ADDT forum ....... Now I
have connected to it a few times..... so I know it does exist and
is full of very useful info for me....... but I have only ever been
able two open it 2 or 3 times on 6 months so it is really
frustrating...... I have tried to post into the dreamweaver
application development forum ( as I am trying to develop an
application with dreamweaver) but I get asked to post in the ADDT
forum I feel like I am going round in circles
Is anyone else having this problem?
Is there anything else I can do ?
As far as I know the ADDT forum is the only one of it's kind
in existance....... Is there any other?

The ADDT forums are on the former Adobe server .. this forum
(and the appdev
one) is on the former Macromedia server. The Adobe server
requires a login
to post. If you go here, you can select to register and
choose a user name
and password. This is NOT the same as your Adobe store login.

Adobe Help Centre - ahc.exe missing

Hello,
We have re-installed CS2 in a couple of class room machines (PCs) and discovered that the helpfunction in all programs (at least Illustrator and PS) doesn't work. Win OS try to find a "ahc.exe" -file. Searched the computer and there isn't any file of that kind installed.
But... ...checking out my personal PC at work (also with CS2 installed) I found out that there are no such file on my computer either, still the help centre function works.
Anyone have a clue abouth this?

Adobe Document Centre

Hi,
I'm having real problems as the users of my documents cannot open them becuase the dc.adobe.com site is down. However I've set the documents to be usable for 3 days offline but this doesn't appear to be working.
I'm using Windows XP Pro, Office 2003, Adobe Acrobat Standard 7.0 and the dc.adobe.com site.
Any help would be useful. I'm also planning on subscribing when the free trial ends (whenever that is!) but i'm not going to if the service is ad hoc.

Adobe Developer Help with Linux Plugin (nppdf.so)

Hello,
I am trying to get in touch with someone at Adobe who is familiar with the Adode Reader Plugin for Linux (nppdf.so) source code.
I have been working for several months, trying to debug a problem with nspluginwrapper (which allows the Adobe Reader Plugin to run on 64-bit Linux systems) that seems to be affecting a fairly large number of users.
Basically, the problem is that, after viewing an initial PDF, closing the PDF, acroread exits. After this point, nppdf.so (when run under nspluginwrapper) seems unable to start a new copy of acroread. I've turned on debug in nppdf and the problem appears to be occurring in ACT_Open. If I could get some information about what is happening in ACT_Open, I think I could probably figure out this problem. I don't think this would take very long to resolve with a small bit of help from Adobe.
Here is a snippet from the debug log that shows what happens when the problem is occurring:
ACOpen : Calling ACT_Open
ACT_Open : Launch acrobat if required
ACT_Open : Acrobat launched successfully
ACT_Open : Trying to connect to acrobat
ACTSocketConnect : Error in connect
ACT_Open : Finished trying to connect to acrobat
ACT_Open : Experienced some error, so closing the new session
internal_ACT_Close : Initialized for 0x8af5d94
internal_ACT_Close : Finished
NPP_GetValue is called
NPP_Destroy : called for instance 8a98738
NPP_Shutdown : called
If I could get in touch with someone familiar with the nppdf.so source code, I think I could resolve this problem without too much effort. Thank you very much.

An just incase someone looks at this and wanting to know what I typed well this is what I typed in the .bashrc file
export NPX_PLUGIN_PATH=/usr/java/j2sdk1.4.0_02/jre/plugin/i386/ns4
and then I had to log out and log back in then you should beable to open netscape and go to edit/preferences/advance/ then you should be able to click on enable java plugin and it should work for you just fine well thats all

Adobe Developer Toolbox CS4 error

Adobes developer toolbox is hanging.

I have used the extension when it was a interakt product. I am using the adobe version with cs3 on a macbook pro with mamp pro. I just finished doing a dynamic list (worked fine) and went to work on a dynamic form, when I selected the wizard it opened the dialog panel and it just displays the loading message, dreamweaver cs3 just hangs "application not responding". now other parts of the toolbox are causing the hang. the only way out was to force quit the application. Does adobe support this product?
1. I tried clearing the cache and purging database.
2. reloaded web services.
3. internet is working.
Anyone had a similar experience? or suggestions.

Thanks for the feedback, I tried this although I am on a Macbook pro
step 1 and 2 are the same.
set 3 i deleted the preference file for Adobe dreamweaver.
step 4 [useraccount]/library/Application Support/Adobe/Dreamweaver 9/Configuration -> i archived this Configuration folder then deleted the folder. Dreamweaver will automatically recreate this folder.
5 did this
sadly in my case it didn't work, but I called Adobe for Dreamweaver Support (they were helpful)
The solution for my problem was simple. Some how some file(s) had become corrupted in the includes folder for the that specific site project. Basically ADDT puts its support files in a includes folder in your site project folder. I deleted the local and the testing includes folders. restarted and it worked. additionally we cleared the cache in the ADDT control panel.

This is a great tutorial, very detailed, but I have a probelm
with the last section.
When you click on a thumbnail gallery image the large image
opens on a new page. I want the large image to open on the same
page as the thumbnails but I don't know how to this.
Can anyone help please??

this might occur for various possible reasons, so I suggest to first see if your Dreamweaver installation is possibly suffering from the "Daylight Savings Time" bug, which is explained in this Adobe technote: http://www.adobe.com/go/kb402776
