Adobe digital editions no longer works on my Macbook

I was able to download ebooks to my Macbook last winter but recently discovered when ADE starts up there is just a blank page where icons of books should be. Tried disabling Norton antivurus and downloaded latest Flash Player, no help.

Have you upgraded to Lion by any chance? If you have that is the problem. ADE does not seem to be compatable with Lion.

I have been using ADE to read library ebooks, and the 2.0 version has never worked for me- I have always got the error message "Adobe digital editions has stopped working" as soon as I try to open it. I have been using the older version 1.7.2, but now it will no longer let me use this version and forces me to download an upgrade. I have tried 2.0 and 3.0 and both get the same error message. I have tried reinstalling and allowing through my firewall but I still keep getting the message. Does anyone know how I can fix this please??

When you open the ADE 2x/3x, It tries to load the books' details from the "My Digital Editions" folder (in "My documents") for the library view. If any of the book is corrupt, It fails to open correctly.
I am guessing this is the issue.
Can you try the following:
Backup the "My Digital Editions" folder and then remove this folder.
Now open the ADE. Hopefully, It will work.
If it does, you can open the books from the Backed up folder.

Sydneybling it does sound like your security software is interfering with the process of installing and utilizing your Adobe Creative applications. I would recommend that you try temporarily disabling your security software and utilizing the directions listed at Install and update apps - https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/install-apps.html to install InDesign CC.

Adobe digital editions will not work

Digital editions 2.0 will downlaod books but will not allow me to transfer to my e-reader. It does not show the e-reader in the left hand side as it should. Also each time I use it it asks to authorise my computer.

It is on Windows 8.

Why does adobe digital editions no longer recognise my server?

I can no longer download books, It says 'connectrion error' and 'can no longer connect to fulfilment server and make sure I am connected to the internet' which I am.

Might be corrupted preferences ...
Disconnect the iPhone.
On your Mac open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy the following:
~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Image_Capture.plist
Click Go then move the com.apple.Image_Capture.plist file to the Trash.
Restart your Mac and launch Image Capture.
Reconnect your iPhone. See if Image Capture recognizes the device.

My adobe digital editions has stopped working. Every time I try to open it says its adobe has stopped working and they will contact me when the find a solution. I also have a dell and windows 8.1

Update.
I have un-installed 2.0 and cleaned out anything that was hanging around.
Re-insalled V3.0.
Unplugged my reader and started up ADE.
It works!
Uploaded a book and, for a few minutes at least, it was stable.
Plugged in my reader, a Kobo touch, and within seconds I go the ADE 3.0 has stopped working message.

Problem Returning Books Adobe Digital Edition

I downloaded adobe digital editions. It works fine, except I can't return a book when I'm done reading it. The Return Borrowed Item is not in bold print to hightlight to use to return a book. Any ideas how to correct this problem. Thanks

Lots of people figure that the program isn't working when something doesn't
function 'as it should' (notice I put those words in quotes). They then
tell you to reinstall the program. That's not necessarily going to change
anything. If the program stops working, then reinstallation might fix the
issue. However, when a program gives you a message, or displays/doesn't
display data, then it's doing its job with what it has to work with. If
you reinstall, most of the time nothing will change - and that's what's
happening here if I understand you correctly. If so, then ADE is working
correctly with the data it has.
My guess here is that something is wrong with the loan token that was
appended to the ebook by the library. It's not giving you the option to
return the ebook, and that could be because the loan token was set up
without a return date. Not to worry, though, because the ebook's loan
period should expire and then you won't have to return it anyway. The
thought behind the process is that the library is trying to regulate how
long an ebook is out there.

Error Message on Adobe Digital Edition

Im using Adobe Digital Edition for a while now when my laptop was accidentaly spilled over. Thank goodness my laptop is still working but now I have a problem returning all the ebooks I borrowed online from the library. Everytime I return them it says: Error getting license
Server communication problem: E_ADEPT_REQUEST_EXPIRED. Can anybody help me fix this problem. The license got invalid/expired somehow.

Can't get adobe digital editions to run

I downloaded adobe.com/products/ digital editions but my computers says windows can't run it?? help - I have the lastest flash... ? (I have windows vista )

Trouble opening up adobe digital editions 2.0?

I was able to access my e-books via the adobe digital editions 2.0 currently installed on my computer. However, in the past few days, I have been unable to open up the program. I get an error message stating "adobe digital editions has stopped working. Windows is checking for a solution", but nothing happens after that. I've tried uninstalling, and reinstalling the program, but this has not helped. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

ADOBE DIGITAL EDITIONS FOR MAC ??

I just downloaded adobe digital editions and my macbook air and it keeps quitting unexpectedly when i try to read a book i just downloaded from the library. It wont stay open for more than a few seconds. Please help!

I found an answer to a similar question on the Forum from TTWTT (TTMTT), who posted a link to download versions 2 and 3 of Digital Editions at Adobe Digital Editions downloads (Adobe Digital Editions downloads). I had tried find these downloads on Adobe's far from helpful website with total lack of success. Version 3 seems to be working on Mavericks; I have no idea if version 3 will work on Yosemite. From other threads in this forum, it sounds like Adobe Digital Editions does not work very well (if at all) on Yosemite.
Whether Adobe is working is a totally different question.
So far it appears that Adobe Digital Editions 4.02 is a disaster, best avoided.

Does Windows 8.1 support Adobe Digital Editions 2

I have an Archos 9.0 eReader. Adobe Digital Editions has always worked on Windows 8 but since upgrading to Windows 8.1, I am unable to download from Windows 8.1 to the eReader. Should I delete the Adobe Digital Editions file and download a newer version.
Any help would be much appreciated.

ADE2.0.1 sort of works for me, going through the Win 8 to 8.1 upgrade without deterioration.
I don't actually use it to transfer to my eReader (Sony PRS-350),
as bugs in ADE2.0/2.0.1 mean that it will not work with that eReader and Overdrive library books.
That isn't an OS version isssue, but an ADE bug.

There are lots of bugs in ADE2.0 (and 2.0.1). Try replacing ADE2.0 with the older but more reliable v1.7.2.
(You can have them both installed at once if you like.)
Version 1.7.2, it is a little difficult to find, available on Adobe site for Windows and for Mac.

Some people have found ADE trying to upgrade automatically.
It appears (not 100% sure) that if you install ADE2.0 as a new install (not as an upgrade) that your 1.7.2 will continue to run.
Probably best to say no if 2.0.x installation asks if you want to migrate your library.
