Adobe Digital Publishing Suite Single Edition For Other Countries

Hi, What would be the best way to buy the Single Edition to other countries ?
My client sits in a country where DPS is still not available ! Can I buy the subscription on his behalf ? Are there any consequences ?
Is their any restriction on buying the Single Edition from the US store  from another country ? For example, can my client make the purchase directly from the US store or does he need a US Credit Card / Address, etc ?
Can someone please clarify

  • Digital Publishing Suite Single Edition Announced

Okay folks. Hopefully this shows that Adobe was listening.

Woodwing workflow will be integrated into DPS with Enterprise 7.5, which we expect to be available by Mid-Nov.
We show the solution at IFRA in Vienna next week at booth A660.
The creation process of interactive elements keeps to be Woodwing's, so InDesign plugins by Woodwing still exist and content management remains within Enterprise, you don't use ID5.5 but still ID4 & ID5. ID5.5 support is still on its way and actually will come after DPS integration with Enterprise 7.6.
So Woodwing supplies you with its own toolset & workflow and one-click export into .folio format (instead of .ofip, which will be abandoned) on basis of the DPS SDK.
Woodwing will work with Adobe (& vice versa) to make the transition for Woodwing customers as smooth as possible, possibly bringing the more advanced features of Woodwing Digital Magazine Reader & CDS to the Adobe DPS ecosystem very soon.
Woodwing and its solution partners will act as DPS resellers to the market in the future.

  • Using Adobe Digital Publishing Suite, Professional Edition

    Hello to everyone,
I'm intrested of using the Adobe Digital Publishing Suite in my work and i have a few questions.
First of all, I want to make some newsstand application for apple and then for android. I got about 5-6 different magazines that each one maybe can publish 5-12 issues annualy.
In which license can i use the software for as many as magazines i want (that means e.g. 10 apps, each one for each magazine)?
What is the cost for that?
    I appreciate your time,
    Thanks in advance,
    Nick

  • Digital Publishing Suite, Single Edition

I thought this was now available on creative cloud? If so, I don't have the option to download.

There is no Download link on the Apps page https://creative.adobe.com/apps because DPS is a mostly a service like Typekit. Click the Learn More link for DPS.
Please see this post for how to use DPS http://forums.adobe.com/message/4711030#4711030.

  • Adobe digital publishing suite professional edition monthly

    To DPS users,
Can Anyone offer any further details on this monthly edition.
    Vividi

DPS Professional Edition is limited to one app for a title across each of our supported platforms. In your case you would have three apps on each platform, which would require three separate Professional Edition licenses.

  • Adobe Digital Publishing Suite Professional Edition -- Multiple Magazines One Account

Is it possible to create multiple magazine apps under one professional account? (Each of these apps would be multi-issue)

    yes.
I would set up your master account as [email protected] ([email protected]) and for each app create an accounts called [email protected] (for example [email protected] and [email protected]).

  • ANN: MEI Portico Version 2.0 for Adobe Digital Publishing Suite Now Available

Jenkintown, PA (November 28, 2012) — Managing Editor Inc. (MEI) today announced MEI Portico™ version 2.0, the latest in the premier Adobe® development partner's lineup of solutions for publishers. The new version of MEI's custom storefront software for tablets was built to empower Adobe Digital Publishing Suite™ customers and is now available for purchase.
MEI Portico lets publishers create custom branded UIs for their mobile and tablet apps on Apple, Google Android, and Amazon Kindle Fire platforms. Custom storefronts enable multiple gateways for showcasing user-targeted tablet content within the app. App administrators can enable search capabilities and organize their DPS folios as they see fit, so that navigation is easy and readers can effortlessly find the issues they want or are entitled to. Portico allows publishers to override in-app purchases for authenticated subscribers, and enables restricted distribution capabilities for corporate and educational institutions using Adobe DPS as part of their digital communications strategy.
MEI Portico 2.0 introduces custom canvases to the original Portico toolbox. Rather than having to rely on templates for their storefront’s landing view, designers can now create their own HTML designs to incorporate into an MEI Portico-driven interface. Using web design skills, designers have full control over every aspect of their app’s look and feel — from storefront layout to images, login pages to RSS or social media feeds, subscriber views to featured folios. And because administrators can launch canvases at a moment’s notice, implementing new features into your app can be completed without a time consuming app update.
"Custom canvases mean that DPS apps can take advantage of Portico’s robust feature set without compromising their brand’s look and feel," said Brett Kizner, MEI's director of new product marketing. "Portico 2.0 has delivered greater flexibility with the ability for our customers to design their own app experience on their app landing page."

Actually the original message was meant for Colin not Bob
I did find the answer to my own question... The Video Is OUTDATED and should be removed to avoid future confusion.
The new feature is "Scrollable Frame", located on the bottom of the Folio Overlay panel which allows for an effective slide out tray.
Colin's more recent video covers this.

  • Adobe Adobe Digital publishing Suite, Magazine

I am in a special project in my college, to create a magazine for architecture department. So, what is the best plan for me to use Adobe digital publishing suite? which options have I?

Single Edition comes part of Creative Cloud ($49.99), you can build unlimited Single Edition apps but the draw back is you can only publish on iPad. Single Edition apps need to be highly inactive in order to get past Apple's Approval process. Single Edition apps also include unlimited downloads since these are hosted by Apple.
Pro is an annual cost ($4800) which enables you to build for Android, iPhone, iPad, Windows. You get more bells and Whistles like Push Notifications, Analytics. With Pro, Apple hosts your app container and Adobe hosts your folios.
    Good luck!

  • Adobe Digital Publishing Suite Workflow

We are looking into the professional edition of the Adobe Digital Publishing Suite for a magazine and have a few questions about the workflow:
    Is this the correct workflow:
Create document in indesign for magasine issue
Turn an indesign document into a .folio file? (Would a .folio file be considered an "issue")
Create an app somehow (where is this part done)
Submit the viewer app to apple, submit to amazon..etc
Is there a site somewhere that shows visual of the entire process?

    Here are some resources:
    DPS product page
    Workflow overview
    Getting started
The "getting started" link points to some good overview videos. If you have an iPad or other mobile device, you may want to download the free "DPS Tips" app to get an overview and experiment with some of the features.

  • New restrictions imposed to users of the Digital Publishing Suite (professional edition)

We are a communication agency and we have just be informed by Adobe about the new "rules" imposed to users of the Digital Publishing Suite (professional edition). We are outraged by these practices: Adobe abuses of its leadership position on the market and hold us hostage.
We currently produce institutional magazines for one of our big clients. These magazines are produced in several languages and contain several thematic folios: therefore we manage several individual apps (multi and simple folios). We are planning to add more content and to develop new apps.
The new restrictions imposed to us by Adobe call into question our digital activity. If we follow the new rules, we now will have to buy 6 or more licenses instead of only 1 before. Given the fact that our corporate publications are not sold like commercial magazines, the rise in production cost is unacceptable. We can't forward the significantly higher fees to our client either who will quit the project for sure.
We have chosen the Adobe platform after a careful analysis of its functionalities and its production costs. We trusted Adobe and the DPS platform but the new rules invalidate our choices and overthrow the projects already developed with our client (needing continuous updates), the investments we have made so far in training and development and finally the profitability of the agency itself.
We therefore ask Adobe to come back on its decision and to apply responsible commercial practices with regard to agencies. We also ask Adobe to make sure that agencies that built their digital activities around Adobe tools can plan these activities correctly in the long run and obtain decent returns on their investments. We thus invite Adobe to reestablish the trust it is currently destroying.

This topic is being discussed in detail here.
