Adobe DLM (damaged)

Hi, I'm running XP .NetFramework 3.5 SP1
Adobe Reader 9.3
Adobe Shockwave Player 11.5
Adobe Flash Player 10 Plugin
Adobe Flash Player 10 Active X
Adobe AIR
Acrobat .com
In %windir%downloaded progam files getting {E2883E8F-472F-4FB0-9522-AC9BF37916A7} damaged.http://i598.photobucket.com/albums/tt65/Ken_039/downloadedprgfiles.jpg
http://i598.photobucket.com/albums/tt65/Ken_039/General.jpg
http://i598.photobucket.com/albums/tt65/Ken_039/Dependency.jpg
http://i598.photobucket.com/albums/tt65/Ken_039/version.jpg
Right clicking gives three options Update,Remove and Properties. Updating corrects the damage by installing Download Manager(get_atlcom Class).
This also puts get_atlcom Class in the add-ons and puts getplus Helper in services.

http://i598.photobucket.com/albums/tt65/Ken_039/dependency2.jpg , http://i598.photobucket.com/albums/tt65/Ken_039/version2.jpg
After each log off program is re-damaged.My understanding is DLM is removed for security reason, the add-on and Helper in services removed also.I need information and recomendation on this issue, please. Similar HJT errors suggest this is fix.
http://platformdl.adobe.com/NOS/getPlusPlus/1.6/gp.cab need step by step where to dl and how to extract!

My apolgy for screenshots. Program {E2883E8F-472F-4FB0-9522-AC9BF37916A7} in downloaded program files status is damaged.
Right clicking gives options to Update,Remove, or Properties. After updating get_atlcom Class with Adobe Icon, status installed, replaces above damaged program. Download Manager opens.Close DLM.   After every log off reverts to damaged state.   The DLM total size (76)kb is being removed along with add-on and get_atlcom Helper (in services) which from my understanding should.  Two of the three files in dependency(properties) are also damaged:
C:\WINDOWS\ DOWNLOADED...\GP.OCX* damaged(installed 73,728)bytes,C:\WINDOWS\DOWNLOADED...\GP.INF* damaged(installed4,096)bytes.
The C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\ATL.DLL remains 61,440. Iexplorer seems slower, opening 2nd window and clicking links on web pages usually hangs.

  • Installed Adobe dlm add-on and now Firfox will not open. I see the process starting in Task Manager but no window opens. Unistalled Firefox then re-installed but still no luck. HELP ME!

''Duplicate post, continue here - [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/questions/793259]''
I installed Adobe dlm add-on and now Firefox will not open. I see the process starting in Task Manager but no window opens. Unistalled Firefox then re-installed but still no luck. HELP ME! I do not want to use IE! I presume it has something to do with Adobe DLM as ever since then it is not working.

I had this problem for a couple weeks as well and it was extremely frustrating considering we use firefox for all our company tasks. Here is the solution:
First of all if you have no bookmarks you want to save, then go directly to step 7. If you want to save your bookmarks first, then follow these steps.
    1. Shut down the computer
    2. Reboot and open firefox
    3. Go to Task Manager, right click firefox.exe, and click END PROCESS TREE
    4. WAIT 30 SECONDS! Then Double-click the shortcut to try and open firefox again
5.Repeat steps 3 and 4 until firefox finally opens (trust me, eventually it will)
    6. Once it finally opens, backup your bookmarks,
    7. Download a copy of firefox from there website
    8. Uninstall from programs menu and make sure to check the box REMOVE ALL COMPONENTS
    9. install the new copy and BOOM! it works
If it doesn't work, you're an idiot. If you don't want to reinstall firefox, then you're out of luck. Good Luck!

  • After firefox updated last time, adobe updated as well, now whenever certain sites load, I get the a program needs you permission to continue which is Adobe DLM. What's up with this and how do I get it to stop?

The problem started when firefox updated on startup. This screen is what vista puts up whenever you are about to load something new. I have already installed the adobe update twice and yet this continues.

The Adobe DLM is not required for Adobe products to work. You can uninstall it by opening the Windows Control Panel and selecting Add or Remove Programs. In the list of programs select Adobe DLM (may be listed as Adobe Download Manager) and click on remove.

  • Adobe DLM crashes IE8 every time

I'm trying to download the newest version of Reader. When I click on "download", a message - "This website wants to install the following add-on: Adobe DLM ...." pops up at the top of of viewable window. That crashes IE8 every time!! suggestions, PLEASE!

If the computer is after 2008, then it might be about DEP(Data Execution Protection).
If your computer is before 2006 and have this problem, then it is not DEP issue as they do not have DEP support.
Tools->Internet Options->Advanced->Enable memory protection to help mitigate online attacks.
Turning it off might fix it(Need to restart IE8).
Turning it off disables DEP support for IE8, so your computer might become as vulnerable as the pre-2006 computer. Make sure you have anti-virus.
I think when they built for Win7, they tested with newer computers(DEP supported computer).
When they tested with XP, they tested with any XP machine they had(Non-DEP support).
Both cases worked, so they released it.
Then when someone put XP on newer machine(DEP supported machine such as new motherboard and CPU), the software failed because the software does not support DEP, and IE8 does not load Non-DEP software on DEP supported computer.

  • Can Adobe Reader damage MacBook Air?

Can Adobe Reader damage MacBook Air?

Thanks, I have posted a couple of questions that I feel were a little dim and in fact one got a less than nice reply so I suppose I am a little embarresed to ask questions when I read the comments from you experts. But we all have to learn and I am sure you guys were less knowledgeable at the start. Hope for me yet !!!!
I did enjoy your "milk" comment. A nurse spilled a cup of tea on my Air when I was in hospital and the "M" key stopped working. Kept using the computer then suddenly after about a month the key started to work again. Shows these Mac's are tough.
Now that I feel a little more comfortable about asking, can you help with another issue I am having. When I try to download files from the internet they come in a file with everything in what looks to me like code. I therefore don't know how to install them. This is why I asked about Adobe Reader as I uninstalled it on Saturday and today have the download problem. Could A.R be the reason do you think?
Sorry for the long reply and as my wife always says "I talk to much" There I go again

  • Adobe Air Damaged can't uninstall and browser wont run

    Hi,
I am in snowed in on a remote hillside in the Scottish Highlands.
My elderly neighbour - half a mile a way has been having trouble with her computer - I am trying to help her get back online
She is running XP and IE (I believe it is 7 but as you will see this isnt easy to determine)
Her life's work is on the computer (she is a biologist)
Our internet is *very* slow - the best we can get is 0.5Mb/s
The only browser installed on her system is IE, when it starts it immediately fails with the windows message box "Adobe Air - the installation of this application is damaged. try re-installing or contacting the publisher for assistance" The browser then immediately exits and the computer crashes If you shut it down you then get a blue screen with an IRQL error.
If you dont launch the browser the computer seems to work ok
As there is no other browser on the computer getting a new adobe installer on it is hard
You can't uninstall as the system crashes on uninstall
I have tried going back to an earlier restore point - same problem
I have tried safe mode - same problem
It seems to be running air v 2.0.4.13090
I have searched for adobeairinstaller.exe on the system so I can try a command line uninstall but can't locate it
I think the file must be damaged and so wondered if I might hack the registry to try and stop it loading
I *think* i have backed up all of the data and email but partly due to our slow internet [the windows update process will take several days] and partly due to the fact that she reinstalling some of her apps may prove impossible I *Really* dont want to format and start again
Any help - gratefully received - Please remember there is no working browser so anything that has to be downloaded has to be done here and walked up the hill through the snow on a usb key.
install log (just the most recent section] attached
    Many Thanks
    Tim

    ok I solved it myself
1/ use windows XP built in FTP to download Mozilla firefox from their ftp site
2/ use that to download adobe air latest installer
3/ use command line adobeairinstaller.exe -uninstall
4/ better but ie still not working so go to microsoft download centre (in firefox) and download an ie upgrade and install it
    5/ reinstall air
    job done

  • Adobe AIR 'damaged'

I'm trying to use DW CS5 (11.0 Build 4964) for Mac OSX 10.5.8 for the first time.
The first thing I did was to go to the 'Help' menu and select 'Dreamweave help' [F1].
I get the following error message:
This installation of this application is damaged. Try re-installing or contacting the publisher for assistance.
I tried re-installing from the CS5 DVD and get this error message:
This version of Adobe AIR cannot be installed because a more recent version is already installed on your system.
    An update was available:
    installed: 2.0.12610
    update: 2.5.0.16600
I did the update and got the following message:
    Installation complete.
Adobe AIR has been successfully installed.
Then went back and selected 'Help' and got the first error message again.
The same error message is dispalyed whichever application I try and use 'Help' in CS5.
    Help appreciated! Thank you.

Here are some troubleshooting problems for a problems with the AIR installation.   Hope this helps!

  • Adobe Muse - Damaged File

I have an Adobe Muse file that won't open and gives me the error message "Adobe Muse file is damaged and cannot be opened."
Any ideas on how to recover?

Same thing happened to me last night.
Muse file stored in folder on desktop.
Put PC in standby mode overnight.
Came back to the file and received: "Adobe Muse file is damaged and cannot be opened."
It seems this is trending. Do we need to make back-ups of our Muse files?
    Thanks,

  • Adobe Help damaged - how can I reinsall

When I try to access Adobe Help Adobe AIR throws this message...
"This installation of this application is damaged. Try re-installing or contacting the publisher for assistance."
It doesn't relate to Help for any specific application - same message appears if I access help from Photoshop, Flash, Dreamweaver, Illustrator - and probably all the others:(

Wither I use Firefox or Internet Explorer I get the same error message after I install the Adobe Download Manager plug-in. The error is repeatable and doesn't repair itself upon uninstall and redownload. The error box follows:
I'm not sure wither this is an Adobe or getPlus+ issue.

I am experiencing the same exact issue, both with ISA 2006 and TMG. Although downloading full installations is a workaround, I would rather get the updates to work. By monitoring the traffic during a download attempt, I have captured the following entry from my ISA server:

  • Adobe DLM keeps popping up in Firefox

I downloaded the Adobe Download Manager and installed the Reader but now every time I open a new window in Firefox the Adobe Download Manager pops up and tries to install the Reader again if I press continue.

I wonder if this may be one reason why a manual update is preferred :

  • Anytime I run a Flash game, Firefox closes! I have updated all add-ons and extentions, disabled Adobe DLM and went through the suggestions to fix this issue. NOTHING WORKS! What do I do?

The game I am trying to play is on Facebook. The internet and other sites work as normal, but when I load a flash game the game begins for about 30 seconds and then freezes and firefox shuts down. I have used INTERNET EXPLORER and the games loads fine. This issue is with firefox plugins, extensions, add-ons...or whatever. I don't know what to do to get this to work properly.

Thank you so much, for once in my computer life I knew what the problem was, what caused it, why it was caused, what it did, what it made it do and most importantly how to fix it and to do it correctly and expeditiously. I can not Thank You all enough for all of the help! I also have Pogo mailed this to all on my friends list, where they have all learned as I have and have fixed theirs also. and the message is being spread. Thank You again, I just can not say it enough.

    Replying to my own question...
Turns out that although libjavaplugin_oji.so is still shipped with Java, it's only there to support older browsers.
With Firefox 3.6 and later, the link in plugins should instead point to jre/lib/i386/libnpjp2.so

  • Whenever firefox is opened, it freezes. This has occurred after I updated adobe reader recently. What's wrong with firefox and what can I do?

Recently firefox will open but then freeze immediatly. This has occurred after I updated adobe reader. I'm not sure if that affected firefox, but the time period fits. Restarting my computer has no effect on firefox.

The Adobe DLM is not required for Adobe products to work. You can uninstall it by opening the Windows Control Panel and selecting Add or Remove Programs. In the list of programs select Adobe DLM (may be listed as Adobe Download Manager) and click on remove.
