You might also try using an alternate site for downloading the trial that does not rely on the download assistamt...
Be sure to follow the steps outlined in the Note: Very Important Instructions section on the download pages at this site and have cookies enabled in your browser or else the download will not work properly.

Sorry if this has already been posted elsewhere but i could really use someone’s help. Also sorry if it's slightly in the wrong forum.
My operating system is Windows 8
I've been trying to download the trial version of Premier Pro (CS6) and I am having a problem with the Download assistant as the title suggests. I have attempted to download the file at least 10 times now, the download process bar will get so far (it varies from near the start to the middle or right towards the end of the download). The Download Assistant will then bring up a message saying that the programme has stopped working. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing the Download Assistant and have tried restarting my computer various times. I have read some people saying that they think it could possibly be lack of memory however this cannot be my cause as I am installing on a brand new computer with a mass amount of free memory.
Would fully appreciate any help anybody could give me.

Itunes 11.1 will not install. It keeps taking me to the 11.0 download page. Then if I download, it says 11.0 is already installed. WTH??

Adobe Download Assistant pops up, but no download happens?!

I downloaded the 30 trial for Premier last night, it spend 2 hours encoding after the installation was completed, but my computer crashed. I can't find the porogramme anywhere, so I tried to re-download. Now the Download Assistant gets me to log it, then nothing else happens?! I have removed everything from the computer now from last night, and the issue is still the same. PLEASE HELP!!

Have you tried reinitiating the download from the download page?
Alternately you can try the steps listed in http://forums.adobe.com/thread/981369 to allow you to download the install files directly.

Adobe Download Assistant gives error after finishing downloading, why?

I have downloaded the trial version of CS5.5 Master Collection twice. But when the download is completed Adobe Download Assistant gives Error and cannot install the software. I go check in the download folder and there's nothing there. My laptop haas ample available storage space (478 GB), running Windows 7 Home Edition, 64-bit.
I tried with smaller file (Photoshop CS5.1 Trial), same story.
Can someone please give me direct download links for following trial softwares:
1. Photoshop CS5.1 Trial
2. CS5.5 Master Collection

Note that you have to follow their instructions carefully and exactly.
By the way, the word "software" is not pluralized by adding an 's' on the end. Thus "softwares" is incorrect usage. Just say "software" or "software packages" instead.

Download Assistant not starting off elements download

I have had error issues when trying to download premier elements 10 CD version. Error code had a 7 in it (sorry closed window already). Went through trouble shoot to download trial first and then would install full version using the license number. Downloaded Elements Premier trial. Went to download Elements and it would not start. Downloaded Adobe Download Assistant again and Elements would not start or no prompt would open. Do I need to uninstall Premier and start with Elements and then install Premier? Any recommendations?
I am running Mac OSX 10.7.3

I presume you are trying to now install Photoshop Elements and you have installed Premiere elements successfully. Is that right?

Download Assistant does NOT have InCopy CS6 Trial

I want to download the trial for InCopy CS6. I went to the free 30-day trial page FOR InCopyCS6, and clicked download. The download assistant downloaded onto my computer, I set up a login, and the download assistant gives me options of things to download, but InCopy is not one of them.

After Adobe Download Assistant is installed, you can start it at any time and select a product to download at the bottom of the window. The list updates as new products become available to download with the Adobe Download Assistant.

New iphone - needs to be restored, Itunes downloads the software, then doesn't install it and tries to restore it all over again

So I have a new iphone. It was working fine, I had loaded my old iphone's last backup onto it.
Then it tried to update the software to the new IOS.
Now its stuck in restore mode, itunes downloads the 800mb update, then does nothing with it and wants to start the restore from the beginning.
I've downloaded latest itunes, updated my computer, restarted it, all those things suggested - but it still does it. I don't have another computer I can try it with...

I found this solution on another newsgroup, so I thought that I'd share it here.

"I was also experiencing these annoying sync-problems. The cause for
this lies in nvcpl.dll - a nvidia dll, which scans for connected TVs.
The first time the dll is loaded, is at windows-bootup
(HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE->SOFTWARE->Microsoft->Windows->CurrentVersion->Run).
This causes the first flicker and unfortunately the auto-startup-entry
can't be deleted.
The flicker when right-clicking on video-files is caused by a shell-
extension, which the nvidia-driver installs for all types of video-
files. This shell-extension calls nvcpl.dll everytime you right click a
video file to scan for connected TVs. If a TV is present, the shell
extension shows up in the context-menu as "Play on My TV". I never
tested this, but I suppose when you click it, the video is directly
shown on your connected TV.
This could have been implemented a lot better, this f...ing sync-flicker
is driving you crazy when browsing a video archive.
After scanning the registry, I found the key responsible for the shell
extension. Just search for "PlayOnMyTV" in the registry and you will
find some entries under "shellex" (shell extension). These entries
contain an identifier, {FFB699E0-306A-11d3-8BD1-00104B6F7516} in my
case, I'm not sure if this identifier is static or created dynamically,
so in your registry, it might be another number. Now copy the identifier
and search for it in the registry; delete every occurence when it's
connected to video-file formats (.avi, .mpg, .mpeg and so on) and
afterwards the "PlayOnMyTV"-shellextensions."

If you are getting an network timeout error try disabling your computer's security software during the downoad and update.

Where is CS 5.5 Design Standard in Adobe Download Assistant?

First my platform is Mac. And I am user form UK (Europe).
I am traing to upgrade CS 5 Design Standard to CS 5.5 . I cant finde any direct download so I decide I will download trial version and after that I will bay upgrade key for $ 299 from adobe store online. When I go to Adobe Dwonload Assistant I cant finde CS 5.5 Design Standard is only CS 5.5 Designe Premium version in there.
Am I looking in wrong place? I use help and it says it should be there. Is it any easyer way to upgrade ? Please help?

Thanks for the prompt and informative reply. I have now resolved my problem and successfully downloaded (and installed) CS 5.5 Design Standard.
If you want to investigate in order to help other customers, here's the full story.
I'm running Windows 7 Professional 64-bit on a brand-new high-performance laptop (HP Pavilion dv7t). My default browser is Firefox (version 9.0.1).
When I clicked the Download button on the CS 5.5 Design Standard page (the one you provided the link to, which I had already found & used), the Adobe Download Assistant was downloaded and subsequently installed. But when I ran it, there was no download of the product queued up:

After reading your reply (and now armed with the knowledge of what behavior to expect), I decided to try again. To eliminate any potential artifacts of my previous failed attempt, I first uninstalled Adobe Download Assistant, and then did the download again. Unfortunately, the result was exactly the same as before (i.e. as shown in my screenshots above).
So then (while holding my nose) I tried doing the download using Internet Exploder Exploiter Explorer 9 instead of Firefox. [As before, I uninstalled Adobe Download Assistant to start wilth a clean slate.] The first time I clicked on the Download button, a message appeared that said my download would start soon, but after waiting 10 minutes, nothing had happened. So I reloaded the page and clicked the button again. This time it worked properly (exactly as you had described) and I was able to download the product.
BTW, I began my evaluation of the trial product by using the new Photoshop, and I can see (and appreciate) many improvements and new features (I had been using CS4 previously). I expect I will be purchasing an upgrade.

Oh, I'm using Windows 7 - I've tried the MAC and ended up giving it to a granddaughter - too used to the lousy windows!!!! No error messages - seems to think I got it just fine, but I didn't. I think it has to do wIth the machine which just underwent a horror story thanks to some stray virus. I've been using Photoshop since the days of Photoshop 3 and I miss it!!!!
