Adobe Download Assistant Not Responding

When I go to download a trial, the download assistant popus up and brings me to the screen to accept or quit (this is the terms of service screen before the download). The download manager does not let me click accept and It will not close so I have to close it though the task manager.
How can I fix this.

I found the solution, It was a simple deleting of the appdata of the download Assisstant.

  • Adobe Download Assistant not working after bluescreen

I like to get the trial for Photoshop Elements 10 but the ADA is broken:
Under Windows 7 I already used the ADA to download and install Adobe Premiere 10 successfully a week ago.
Then I tried to get Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 but my system crashed with a bluescreen. The computer is fine again but ADA is not working anymore:
    - after startup it doesn't list any (!!!) product to download. The list is just empty
    - I can enter my username and password and click login. Then the buttons are greyed out and nothing else happens. I have to kill the application with the task manager then.
    - I can apply for a new user account but it greys out and gets stuck like as the login.
    - The help buttons lead to empty Pages in the web browser.
I tried to uninstall ADA and reinstall it (two times) but the behaviour stays the same.
I tried to find direct download links (the FAQs told me that there should be some) but every download page will use the ADA. I'd be fine with a plain ftp page for the trials. :-)
I'm an IT professional but I've no idea how to get ADA working, wiped from disk to get it reinstalled or to download the trials on another way. Please help.

I will try to install at a different location this afternoon.
The other thread handles a different situation: "... the Adobe Download Assistant launches, asks me to sign in ... I get a nice "Welcome, Steve" message ... and a list of related products below with links to download their trials ... The Help link takes me to an Adobe Download Assistant FAQ page ..."
    - I cannot sign in and don't get a welcome message.
    - I don't see a list of products.
    - The help link takes me to an empty page.
BUT: where does the ADA get the list of products from? Is it online or local? If everything is online where I am blocked (sign in, list, help), I'll check the firewall. Perhaps the bluescreen crash changed something.

  • Adobe Download Assistant not installing

I'm trying to download the CS6 trials on a MacbookPro running Mountain Lion; however on opening the AdobeDownloadAssistant.dmg it will load, then give me an error message with the following:
    "Sorry, an error has occurred.
The application could not be installed because the installer file is damaged. Try obtaining a new installer file from the application author."
When I try to download the apps straight from the cloud toolbar, it tries to take me to a link, which doesn't lead anywhere. Eg, when trying to "try" Photoshop Extended, in Safari it will take me to:
    aam://SAPCode=PHSP?passPhrase=ZGpLQ9U9dEgsq0r0f87dOTP/mGZPUOBjl9FpXKYTZ8ks/NB3Hninigi9kaTk QA3hMECy0lp+rOvaKTUi1emimiupaCWVu5Zjpb/WHOInRL5xPqDwPwwOP35FC5kr1z5VkI4H4dAiT4OhyosSgc2nns 78ZkT5ZsriXPR0ryqFe90=
Any ideas? Very frustrating, I'm keen on trying these out while I have time at the moment... have wasted a good part of the day so far trying to get it sorted. Any help is much appreciated!

    Hi All,
yesterday evening I tried to download the CS6 trial as well, and had the same problems. Here is how I solved it:
1.) After clicking on "Download" I have copied the Adobe Download Manager.dmg to the desktop
2.) Install download manager, and click OK when the "Sorry, ... " error message appears.
3.) Go to the Adobe Download Manager file (see below), right click, and click on "Show package contents"
3.) After clicking "Show Package Contents" go to: Contents/Resources/Adobe Download Assistant/Contents/MAC OS/ and click on Adobe download assisstant
(Do not try the Contents/Mac OS/install adobe download manager because you will have the same error message. Go to the folder as described above)
4.) after clicking "Adobe download assisstant" you should be able to log in and download the desired software
I hope I could help, it worked for me
    (MBP+Lion)

  • Adobe Download Assistant Not working

I tried all the troubleshooting many times it still will not work. I keep getting error 107. I put in my id and then it stops and will not download after effects.

Do you receive the error as soon as you open the Adobe Download Assistant?  Where did you choose to download the install files too?

  • Re: Adobe Download Assistant not working after bluescreen

I'm having the same problem on mac osx lion:
    I downloaded adobe download manager
    I installed adobe download manager
    I launche adobe download manager
No features of adobe download manager are functional. I get a welcome screen that asked me to sign in, yet the sign in link and the help link in the upper right hand corner are not responsive.
    I cannot quit the application.
I must force quite to exit the application.
I have reinstalled twice, including downloading the software a second time.
I think you folks have a bad build of the ada.

I installed http://codykrieger.com/gfxCardStatus and disabled graphics switching and the adobe download assistant still did not function.
One would think that a software company such as adobe would make an application that does not require a large segment of users to go in and fiddle with settings just so that they can download a trial version of adobe software.  This is really lame.

  • Adobe download assistant not supported on this architecture on a mac?

I saw this was posted by someone in march and it was not answered and I have the same error message?

i am running a mac 2.8 GHz i7 with OSX ver 10.7.4 and all other mac software (safari etc) up to date as of today.
I purchased nearly $600 worth of adobe products that I canot install. Specifically, the Akamai download assistant (net session installer) will not install. I have also tried the alternate (direct file download) method, again without being able to install. I am not a novice user, however I wonder how much experience is necessary to overcome poorly executed software.
    thoughts?

  • Adobe download assistant not supported on this architecture message on Mac

When I download the Adobe trial of CS5  InDesign and my computer first downloads the download assistant, I get an error message saying that I can't open it because the computer's architecture does not support it. Do you know why this is?

What processor is your Mac using?  You can find this by going to the Apple Menu>About This Mac.

  • Adobe Download Assistant not working on Lion

I successfully downloaded and installed the trial of Design Premium a couple days ago (but not without having to try to install download assistant a couple of times) and I'm now trying to download AfterEffects but I'm having no luck. I either get an error that says that an version of AIR that I need can't be found (and if I try to install AIR I get that same message!) or I get an instant crash from Download Assistant saying that it couldn't restore windows. I'm trying to reinstall download assistant but having no luck with that either. I'm on Mac OS Lion. Thoughts?

Never mind. Kept trying the same thing and now it works. Weird!

  • Downloading Adobe Assistant Not Responding on Windows XP

    Hello All,
I am trying to  use Adobe Assistant to download Photoshop CS5 Extended trial on Windows XP but the program freezes everytime.
I have upgraded to Internet Explorer 8 and ugrades to  Window XP Service Pack 3.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled the
Adobe Download Assistant several times, and every time I attempt to download, the computer freezes.  I have 2GB of RAM, and
a 250GB HD, Pentium 4 computer.  I believe the computer is strong enough.  What else should I do?

I end up restarting the computer after it freezes because it does not respond the to the task manager
to end the program.  The Adobe Download Assistant asks the question about what type of user I am,
novice, intermediate, or advanced.  After I select novice, a url appears at the top of the Adobe
Download Assistant window and then program freezes and does not respond to the
    task manager to end program.

  • Adobe Download Assistant does not respond

I have been racking my brain for days attempting to fix this. I am attempting to download a trial, but the installtion process of Adobe Download Assistant will not complete. After I click "Agree" on the Adobe AIR Licensing Agreement, the screen closes and nothing happens. I have downloaded Adobe Download Assistant to my desktop, I have disabled all firewalls/protection programs, and pretty much EVERYTHING suggested online, but still nothing. If I attempt to download a trial, the Adobe Download Assistant opens, attempts to install, and then once I get to the Adobe AIR Licesnsing Agreement, I hit "AGREE" and the download assistant closes and will go no further. PLEASE help me! I am using Windows XP 2007.

After following the steps found in the link above, a window popped up stating that my computer was currently running the most recent update of Adobe AIR. Yet the Adobe Download Assistant will not open past the Adobe AIR Licesnsing Agreement box, which I have "Agreed" to. I tried uninstalling and re-installing Adobe AIR three times. I have downloaded everything to my desktop, as suggested, ran as the administrator, but still NOTHING. Any other suggestions? I have downloaded content from Adobe before successfully without using the Adobe Download Assistant, never had any issues at all. I have uninstalled and re-installed all of the necessary applications, and still no luck. I have been messing with this for 4 days! I am the administrator of the computer I am downloading to, there should be no restrictions.

  • Adobe download assistant will not work on my machine?

Adobe download assistant will not work on my machine. When i try to start it i get a message saying "Sorry an error has occurred. This application cannot be installed because this installer has been mis-configured. Please contact the application author for assistance." Any ideas what to do

Are you using Mac OS?  If so please try removing the Adobe Download Assistant from your Applications folder and try again.  This issue is documented in the Known Issues section of Troubleshoot Adobe Download Assistant - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/troubleshoot-download-assistant.html.

  • Adobe Download Assistant Will Not Recognize My Adobe ID

I've been an Adobe customer / forum user since before ID's were tied to email addresses.  My product registrations going back to 1996 through CS 5.5 apps are recorded under that ID.  Since I have to change my email address every couple years to escape spammers, I do not want to change my Adobe ID (and go through the hassle of re-recording the record of registered apps) to a "fluid" ID like an email address.
Automatic registration and now Adobe Download Assistant will not accept an Adobe ID that is not an email address, yet I can still use it to 'manually' register new / upgrade product purchases.  The problems this poses are two-fold:
Since I can only manually register new / upgrade products, I cannot obtain any "registration bonus" downloads.
I cannot download trial versions of apps I want to check out.
Adobe needs to get its act together and tell its gen-X / Millenials / Kid Web and software development staff that not all Adobe IDs are email addresses, but might also be a unique user ID string.
Further, due to an individual's email address volatitility (virtually everyone in my email address book had their email address change every 2- 3 years due to ISP demise, merger, personal relocation, job change etc.), Adobe should return to - or at least give precedence to - the model of UID / PW authentication instead of email address / PW authentication.  This would lower Adobe maintenance effort / cost for user accounts as one could simply sign in with UID + PW and change email address for the account as necessary.  As it is now, Adobe CANNOT deal with a user whose email address changes.
When Adobe changed from UID precedence to email precedence, I could not register Acrobat Pro (2007) during registration so I used my email address at that time to register the product.  When that email address ceased to exist, I tried to get Adobe to transfer that registration to my old [non-email address] Adobe ID, and, over several months of email exchanges, they ended up admitting they could not do it.  I could not make the change as the SN was already marked as used in there system so simply re-registering it to my existing account wouldn't work either.
This has been an ongoing issue with "legacy" users since 2006 at least, and NEEDS TO BE RESOLVED ASAP!!!!

There you go MISSING THE POINT AGAIN!! My Registered products WILL NOT FOLLOW MY UID IF I CHANGE IT, NEVER DID SINCE 2007.  Saying the will is false information which I alerted Adobe to back in 2007 and is a problem y'all never fixed.
Just a little over a week ago, I got I got LightRoom 4 ug from a LR 3 I had purchased in March.  Signing on with my legacy UID (non-email) allowed me ADD those registrations to my account, as I had cor CS 5.5, 4, 3, etc. etc.  Now, isn't it odd that the very day after I posted here, when I sign in to my account it shows NO REGISTERED PRODUCTS!!!  If I look at my order history, it has orders from Adobe store from last weeks CS6 MC purchase back to 2007 when I started buying from Adobe directly after the local brick and mortar resellers disappeared.
So I try to register CS6 MC, it tells me the SN is already in use.  I try open a PDF document and it tells me I have to first register and agree to the Acrobat Pro X license before I open a doc - and it was an UPGRADE FROM CS 5.5 MC.  I try to run CS 5.5 apps and they tell me I have to purchase a license since the trial period is over - HUH!  Until I posted here it was working FINE.  I go back to my acccount (non-email UID sign in) and check my profile - Lo and behold SOMEONE (not me) has changed the UID to an email address instead of the non-email UID I sign in with AND DELETED ALL MY PRODUCT REGISTRATIONS!
Naturally, your software does not let me put it back to the same UID I use to sign on with so THE LINK TO ALL MY REGISTERED PRODUCTS IS GONE, I CANNOT REGISTER NEW ONES (which was no problem just a day or two before posting here) WHICH PROVES WHAT I WAS TOLD IN 2007 - WHEN YOU CHANGE UID'S YOUR LEGACY REGISTRATIONS WILL BE LOST!!!
So, in summary you (Adobe at least, and I suspect you personally) went in and messed with my legacy account, deleting all my registrations, as I was told in 2007 would happen and advised to keep the old UID if I did not want to blow away those registrations, when I explicity did NOT want to make such changes.  And, should I need an SN for some upgrade offer or to install an update for an older product that I did not transition to the new facility, I have to HOPE that I had I can find the original purchase invoice and that there is a copy of the SN / Reg card attached to it.
    THANKS A PANT LOAD!!

  • I downloaded the adobe XI software and it shows in my Adobe download assistant as downloaded but I can not open it and it is not a part of my applications. Very frustrating download process as I just want to convert a PDF file to an editable word document

I downloaded the adobe XI software and it shows in my Adobe download assistant as downloaded but I can not open it and it is not a part of my applications. Very frustrating download process as I just want to convert a PDF file to an editable word document...

Odonnells52 you will still need to install Adobe Acrobat Professional prior to being able to make edits to PDF or utilize Acrobat.   By default the installation files have been saved to your download folder.
If you continue to face difficulties with the Adobe Download Assistant then please see Troubleshoot Adobe Download Assistant.
You can also download the installation files directly from Download Acrobat products | Standard, Pro | XI, X if you are unable to locate the downloaded installation files.

  • I have downloaded the 30 day free trial using Adobe Download Assistant but I do not know how to open it and start using it.

I have downloaded the 30 day free trial using Adobe Download Assistant but I do not know how to open it and start using it.

This was so annoying!! It took me a good couple of hours but i figured it out, you need to do the following: Go to the folder where you saved the download (in my case i saved it in My Downloads) -> click on 'Adobe Photoshop Elements 12' -> click on 'PSE 12' -> click on 'Setup' (select the icon which is a box with a shield) -> follow instructions and....voila! You will need to restart when it suggests so save anything else first, then when it reboots you should see the icon on your desktop....hpe this helps!
