Adobe download assistant not supported on this architecture message on Mac
When I download the Adobe trial of CS5 InDesign and my computer first downloads the download assistant, I get an error message saying that I can't open it because the computer's architecture does not support it. Do you know why this is?
What processor is your Mac using? You can find this by going to the Apple Menu>About This Mac.

Adobe download assistant not supported on this architecture on a mac?
I saw this was posted by someone in march and it was not answered and I have the same error message?
i am running a mac 2.8 GHz i7 with OSX ver 10.7.4 and all other mac software (safari etc) up to date as of today.
I purchased nearly $600 worth of adobe products that I canot install. Specifically, the Akamai download assistant (net session installer) will not install. I have also tried the alternate (direct file download) method, again without being able to install. I am not a novice user, however I wonder how much experience is necessary to overcome poorly executed software.

ERROR:MapLib:973 - Tri-state buffers are not supported in this architecture.
Hi,
I face a ERROR:MapLib:973 problem with inout port in a pcore component.
I need ton instantiate an inout port at the top level to communicate wih my peripherical.
This inout port is driven by an XPS IP core (pcore).
The .mpd is :
PORT fdata = "", DIR = INOUT , VEC = [31:0], ENABLE=SINGLE, THREE_STATE = TRUE,TRI_I = fdata_I, TRI_O = fdata_O, TRI_T = fdata_T
PORT fdata_I = "", DIR = I , VEC = [31:0]
PORT fdata_O = "", DIR = O , VEC = [31:0]
PORT fdata_T = "", DIR = O
The .vhd is :
fdata_o : out std_logic_vector(31 downto 0);
fdata_i : in std_logic_vector(31 downto 0);
fdata_t : out std_logic ;
I got ERROR:MapLib:973 - Tri-state buffers are not supported in this architecture messages for each
signals of my fdata PORT, while mapping !
Thanks for you help.What device are you targeting, and what version of the software are you using?
I target a xc7k325t-fbg676-2.
I use ISE 14.3 form platgen to xst and 14.7 from map to bitgen.
What does your top level HDL (verilog or VHDL) file look like (where the IO must be instantiated)?
It is a .vhd in whitch i wrapp my top XPS core, described by .mhs
The problematic IO port is instantiated into the mb_core.vhd (generated by XPS).
If i open it, i could see that the tool correctly infer the corresponding IOBUF's :
component mapping :
fdata_I => FX3_DQ_I,
fdata_O => FX3_DQ_O,
fdata_T => FX3_DQ_T,
One IOBUF infered:
iobuf_1 : IOBUF
port map (
I => FX3_DQ_O(31),
IO => FX3_DQ(31),
O => FX3_DQ_I(31),
T => FX3_DQ_T
Top level port :
FX3_DQ : inout std_logic_vector(31 downto 0);
THEN FX3_DQ signal is dirrectly branched in my upper level (top level) vhd file, with the same name.
What do your constraints file look like (where the pin number and names get declared)?
The port is only constrained in .ucf, like that:
NET FX3_DQ[0] LOC = "B24"| IOSTANDARD = LVCMOS33 ;
NET FX3_DQ[31] LOC = "G26"| IOSTANDARD = LVCMOS33 ;#Bank 14

When I tried to open Firefox 4 a dialogue box opened stating "Can't open the application Firefox because it is not supported on this architecture"
For older Macs that aren't supported in Firefox 4.0, try TenFourFox for PowerPC's running Mac 10.4.11 & 10.5.8 . <br />

Address book not supported on this architecture
Hi, can anyone point me in the right direction? My address book no longer opens and displays "You cannot open the application "Address Book" because it is not supported on this architecture." the icon itself has changed to sheets of paper with a ruler, pencil with a big circle and diagonal line.
I'm having the same problem. It happened after i upgraded to 10.5.8. It stopped working after the upgrade. I recovered the old address book from my time capsule from this morning, and that's when i got the "not supported on this architecture" message.
thanks

A day or two ago I went through installing Adobe InDesign CS4 on Leopard OS X.5.8. After what appears to be a successful installati
on, in launching InDesign CS4 the message " You can't open the application "Adobe InDesign CS4" because it is not supported on this
architecture" comes up". Calling in to support and speaking with the agent who read through previous posts, suggested to me that I
should try the same fix that has been suggested when I ran across an error when installing Adobe InDesign CS4 on another separate ha
rd drive externally connected to this computer running Snow Leopard OS X.6.1 for the error reading: "Damaged &/or incomplete install
ation" when launching afterwards. The support technician told me to first delete with the uninstall Adobe InDesign CS4, InDesign.
Following this I am told to run the CS4 Cleanup Utility. I restart the computer each and every time after running each of the utili
ties. Now I am told to install InDesign as a trial version from the DVD and after installation to go ahead & enter the serial numbe
r. When launching InDesign CS4 after installation got back the same error as before: "You can't open the application "Adobe InDesig
n CS4" because it is not supported on this architecture" comes up". Followed KB404711 article and no success. What else can be don
e to fix this issue?
This morning contacted Adobe Support regarding this response:
After having a detailed reserach on your issue i acme to the conclusion
that the problem you are having is not related to Adobe software but its
in fact related to your MAC version ( OSX-5.8). While reseraching your
issue i came across
to many forums where a lot of postings were about the similar error but
with different products the only comon thing was all the Errors were
with Mac machine , also when you check the system requirements for
Adobe Indesign Cs4
by going to the following link
http://www.adobe.com/products/indesign/systemreqs/?promoid=DRHXE you
will find the Mac OS version supported are from Mac OS X
v10.4.11–10.5.4. but we do support Snow Leoprad , so i would like
to advise to you to either contact your system manufacturer or upgrade
to Snow Leopard ( mac os x 10.6)
I have been told that my case is being sent to Level 2 agents and that it can take 24-48 hours for a response. In the meantime I decided to see what the Support Forums can do for me. Until then I am down. Thanks for the help.In the application folder there is a folder 'Adobe InDesign CS4' within which there is just the application file. I would expect there should be more file there??
I've un-installed and installed again - still the same.
Even downloaded the dmg again and done thwe whole thing over again. -

Hi Robert,
Which Adobe product are you trying to download? Please check if the System Requirements are met.

I just want to download Firefox 3.6 again
I downloaded Firefox 4 onto my PowerPC G4, 1.67GHz running Mac OSX 10.5.6. When I try to open it I get error message You cannot open the application “Firefox” because it is not supported on this architecture.Use Tony's suggestion. I am running it right now and it is awesome. I love Mozilla but they basically screwed all of those older Macs over. Come on Mozilla. These Macs still work, and there are plenty of people with them out there.

I just got a notice to update my firefox to 4.0 and when I downloaded the new software it indicated: that I can't open the application "Firefox" because it is not supported on this architecture. Any ideas about what might be wrong and how to fix it?
Firefox 4 requires at least OS X 10.5 and an Intel Mac. There is a third party version of Firefox 4 that runs on OS X 10.4/10.5 and PPC Macs, for details see http://www.floodgap.com/software/tenfourfox
If you prefer, you can get the latest version of Firefox 3.6 from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html -
Adobe acrobat pro is not supported on this architecture
adobe acrobat pro is not supported on this architecture i have cs4 me
I had this problem yesterday. An odd thing had happened, and a folder within the FCP had been corrupted somehow and was broadcasting that it was a .mov file, when it was in fact a folder.
The folder in question was the "MacOS" folder within the FCP application file. I created a new folder, moved the contents of the corrupted folder into the new folder, deleted the corrupted folder, and renamed the new folder MacOS.
And it works again.
Thanks to Zebulun, Jon Chappell, and Shane Ross for helping find a solution... -
"You cant run adobe flash cs4 because it is not supported on this architecture" HELP!
I just installed adobe cs4 design premium, and everything works fine except for the program I wanted most, which is Flash. It has a little circle with a line through the icon and whenever I try to run it, it tells me that it cant run because it is not supported on this architecture. I have already re-installed it four times and it never helps. I cant find any help on this board even though similar questions have been asked. Its on a brand new imac, can someone please help?
I'm afraid I don't have experience with troubleshooting this install issue to offer any sort of concrete answer about what's the quickest/easiest way to resolve it. Maybe someone else on this forum or a google search will provide some advice from people who have experienced this first-hand and will know the quickest steps to get the software running. If not, perhaps investigate partitions without journaling, or disabling it (the Apple site has info about this if needed).
