Adobe DPS Pro Commissions

Adobe pays web designers a commission for each client they introduce to their web dev platform Adobe Business Catalyst. It's a recurring 10% commission for each month the client pays for the BC service and web hosting. It's seems Adobe could offer the same incentive for DPS Pro. Agencies need to sell DPS to their clients and justify the ongoing $600 month hosting costs. A built-in commission would be well received. Anyone agree?

Adobe DPS Pro Monthly

In a recent post, it was suggested that the Adobe DPS Pro Edition would allow for monthly billing on the Adobe site this week. In fact, the Adobe DPS Pro page does, if you wait for a little bit, show a "Buy" button under Professional Edition Monthly. However, clicking it takes you to a reseller page for Southeast Asia, which I assume is not the intended behavior. I called Adobe support and they experienced the same behavior on the page. Can anyone shed some light on the current status of when we might see the ability to order direct for the monthly option? Thanks.

1/2/3/4: The app will remain in the store as long as you leave it there, but you must maintain an active DPS Pro subscription for the downloads to work. If you end your subscription immediately after uploading the one folio your readers will not be able to download the folio inside the app.

hello i created an ipad app 1024 x 768, i upload it to andrid and apple, but i cant see the app in the iphone 5, what could be the problem?

DPS Pro in India please...

Trying to buy Adobe DPS Pro license in India, and being told it can't be sold as there's not a single reseller in India right now, and the product is not available on Adobe Store (India) for online purchase.
Can someone please guide or advice me how to buy DPS Pro, or connect me to someone from Adobe or reselling community to facilitate this. Also, need DPS PRO only, and NOT DPS ENTERPRISE edition.
Seems when it comes to DPS, you need to know workarounds not only for using the product, but also to buy it, even at MRP...

I can see, that the question has been asked before, but I'll try my luck anyway...
It seems impossible to buy Adobe DPS pro edition - i've tried contacting support and have been redirected back and forth between sales and support with no luck. Their last suggestion was to use DPS contact form and somebody will contact me in the next 24 hours - I did that 2 days ago
I also tried a Latvian company, that was suggested buy the customer support, but they said that they are not selling DPS.
is my only option really just waiting and hoping that somebody will contact me?

Changing Adobe ID associated with DPS Pro

A friend who own a DPS Pro account, asked me how he can changes the Adobe ID associated to it, so he can keep his DPS SE separated with his main client that use the Pro version. Is this possible, how?

Here's how it's possible:
1. Go to Adobe.com and change the email id associated with the Pro account following this article : http://helpx.adobe.com/digital-publishing-suite/kb/changing-id-email.h tml
This will free up that email id, it wont change your subscription since Adobe id is not mapped with email id, rather another id which is called GUID.
2. Now since your email id is free, use that to register a new Adobe.com account or update email id associated with existing CCM/Free DPS account and use CCM/Single edition with that.

Adobe DPS: unable to load media after video montage.

Hi there,
I am currently using Adobe Indesign CS6 with the latest update of the Folio panel and work on a digital magazine in which I imported some videos in different extensions (*.mov and *.mp4).
Everything worked fine on iPad, but everytime I make a video montage using Adobe Premiere Pro CS6, a message error "Unable to load media. Please check your internet connection or try again later" appeared on my iPad screen.
I exported my media from Adobe Premiere in *.mp4 using H.264 codecs for Apple TV/iPad/iPhone, dimension 1280 x 720 and also tried with 1024 x 768, but that didn't work.
Then, I imported my original videos without any montage making on DPS, they work fine. One of the original video has an extension *.mov and the other one *.mp4.
I followed the steps that I read on DPS forums by some users facing the same issue, but that didn't make good results.
So, is there anything I have missed in Adobe premiere Pro CS6 as after making video montage, my iPad always displays the message error? and why each time I use the same two videos without passing through Adobe Premiere, I can play the video without trouble?

I tried both softwares Handbreake and Adobe Media Encoder CS6 to render my final editing but it always failed.
However, I restarted my whole video project using a free easy-to-use video editing software I downloaded from the internet, now it works fine on ipad with *.mov extension.
By the way, Adobe Indesign does not support *.m4v.
Anyway, I will go on trying to figure out what's the flaw in Adobe Premiere Pro.

Create a dynamic dropdown field in Adobe Acrobat Pro XI

Hello all. I am trying to create a field in one of my forms using Adobe Acrobat Pro XI. I have a dropdown list of "main" items, and based on what is selected in that list, I want a second dropdown list to give different choices. I have searched and searched and have javascript that I thought might work, but maybe I am have a mistake or I am placing the javascript in the wrong place, becasue it is not working. I know very, very little about javascript, so any help would be so much appreciated.
I am using Adobe Acrobat Pro XI. I added a "new field", and selected "dropdown". The field name is ProvType. The dropdown options are:
     Inpatient
     Outpatient
     Physician
I have the "Commit selected value immediately" selected.The field is not validated. The format is "none." There are no actions or calculations associated with it.
I then created another dropbox, and named it SubProvType. Under Actions, I selected the trigger as Mouse Up, and then selected the Action "Run a JavaScript." I selected the add button, and typed this in the JavaScript editor:

However.... when I close the form editing and try to select a different option in the ProvType field, the SubProvType field remains blank and there are no options available. There are also no errors.
I must be missing something, but I have no idea where to start. Thank you in advance for any help anyone can provide.

dbettis2.... Please understand that everything I am about to tell you is ONLY thanks to the help I received from Gilad D. I don't know if this will help you or not, but I want to try and pass it forward.
If what you are looking to do is have two dropdown fields, and the second one (concentration) be a list determined by what was chosen in the first one (newMajor) then this will work, if you are using Adobe Acrobat Pro.
Create a dropdown field and name it newMajor. In the "options" tab. Make sure that you enter all of the items that you want in that list AND that they match the javascript (or this will not work.)
In this case, I believe you want the initial list to be:
- Select One -
BA - Communication (BACOMM)
BA - History (BAHIST)
BBA - Business Administration (BBA-BADM)
After you create the dropdown field and enter all of the options, go to the Validate tab, chose "run custom validation script", then copy and paste the following:

Then create a second dropdown field, and name it Concentration. Nothing further needs to be done with the second dropdown field (as far as entering options or any javascript.)
It should work. I have created a form using this code and field structure, and it is working. I hope this helps you, if in fact this is what you were trying to do. Adobe Premiere Pro CC - Plantage constant : "a cesser de fonctionner ..."

J'essaye de tester Premiere pro CC, mais franchement je n'y arrive pas. Après quelques minutes de manipulations à peine, de façon totalement variable, le logiciel ce bloque et Windows m'indique :
"Adobe Premiere Pro à cesser de fonctionner et doit s'arrêter, Windows va tenter de trouver une solution ... bla bla bla ..."
Je ne fait rien de spécial pour en arriver à ce point, ce n'est donc pas suite à une manipulation spécifique dans le logiciel que cela plante. C'est vraiment aléatoire et est capable de rester en tâche quelques minutes comme quelques secondes. Bien entendu ni Windows ni Premiere n'indique un code d'erreur spécifique ou quoi que ce soit ... et je ne sais pas si il existe des log quelque part qui pourrait indiquer d'où proviens l'erreur ... (?) ...
Ainsi je demande de l'aide afin de savoir si ce problème est récurent ou non et si des solutions peuvent exister.
Je vous donne bien entendu des informations sur ma machine et compagnie ci-dessous :

j'ai eu le même souci puis un jour a force de relancer, le logiciel m'a afficher une fenêtre avec un code erreur. a partir de ce code, j'ai chercher sur internet pour aboutir sur le site adobe, puis finalement, sur une page web du site adobe dans laquelle j'ai placer une espèce de "code" qu'a généré le logiciel. la manip est quand rentrant ce code sur la page spécifique de adobe, çà en génère un autre qu'il faut injecter cette fois dans la fenêtre du logiciel. depuis les plantages ont fini après quelque mois de galère, on va dire que j'était heureux.
seulement voilà,
il y'a un mois mon ordi a rendu l'âme et rebelote ! j'ai dû réinstaller le logiciel sur un nouvel ordinateur et là , c la ***** ! je ne me souvient plus du tout de la manip a faire ! et les plantages recommencent !
si çà vous parle , je suis preneur aussi !
dans tous les cas, un moment ou un autre, le logiciel va généré des codes erreur un ou deux je crois qu'il faut surveiller sans fermer trop vite les message erreur !!
je crois que c adobe manager qui plante dans cette histoire. le code règle ce souci !

Webviewer in DPS Pro.

Hello, it's possible to have the webviewer in the professional license? I have a client that needs this feature but do not have the budget for the enterprise. If it is for a slightly higher cost, only to have this feature would be more feasible to purchase for him.

DPS Pro Account

We are small design firm and have planned launch 3 different mags next year. Each Mazazine Folio will have 4 issue per year. My question is: we need 3 DPS pro Account? Or we can publish the 3 Mags with only one?

You would only need 1 DPS account.
But you would have to submit (potentially) 3 apps to the app store for approval from Apple. Unless you were going to create (1) main app that would house 3 different magazines.
You would also want to create different Adobe ID's so that you can capture your stats/Analystics for these magazines.

Creating and releasing (for private use) an app with Adobe DPS

Dear all,
I am creating an app for iOS devices with Adobe DPS.
It will be a private app; I don't want it to be viewable on the app store. I only want to get a .ipa file so that I can send it to my contacts and the can install it on their devices through iTunes.
Honestly I'm a bit lost. It's the first time I'll have to face all of this.
I don't really know how to proceed for a private app. I guess even if it's not available on appstore, the app still have to be approved by Apple ? or am I wrong ? What are the steps to go through in order to get the .ipa file ?
Do I have to follow the same step-by-step tutorial as for a common app ?
Any advice from someone who have already faced the same kind of situation, or from anyone who knows a bit about all of this is very very welcome…

With a pro account you get a .ipa file and a .zip file. The ipa file is for testing so the devices that you add in the apple developer account ( max 100 in a year ) can all install the ipa file. The .zip is for submitting to apple.
In the enterprise edition for DPS you can create enterprise signed builds that can be installed on any Ipad within the organization. ( no limit to the number of devices you can install it to. )

Adobe DPS Roadmap RE iPhone Support

I do not really wish to ask a "by when" question, as I know it was frowned upon in the pre-release forums:)
However I am constantly asked this by our clients, and it has a bearing on how we approach business opportunities to create iPhone apps for people who are asking.
I woud love to be able to be able to field these questions with even the roughest idea about the following:
Is iPhone (or smartphone support in general) still firmly on the roadmap for Adobe DPS? If yes, is it high, medium or such low priority that it is still a year or so away from now?
What should I tell my clients who are interested in putting their content solutions on the Adobe DPS platform, but are wanting to know how long the wait for iPhone support might be?
Bob Bringhurst recently mentioned iPhone support om a post about scaling: http://forums.adobe.com/message/3889660#3889660 "I'm not sure if or how this will change when the iPhone is supported."
So I am hopeful this may be on the horizon, but would appreciate if the roadmap could be shared with DPS customers in a bit more detail, if not on this forum then perhaps through other channels?

Thanks for your thoughts, I agree about the iPhone not being an ideal canvas. And no, we wouldn't create isolated iPhone apps using Adobe DPS, rather iPhone versions of existing iPad content:
For every app we have done clients have requested (and wanted to pay for) an iPhone version of the content. (we don't do typical periodical magazines, but occasional custom content single issue iPad apps, imagine how I feel about having signed up for pro license now that single issues will cost US$395)
Since we use inCopy in collaboration with clients, they seem most interested in making the text content from their iPad apps available on iPhone page templates, plus some resized pics. Nothing amazing from a UX perspective, but I could see re-flowing stories onto the iPhone with Indesign flexible layouts and inline scaled images.
IiPhone support had been requested by a lot of people at one point in the pre-release last year, not much interest now it seems...
So for now we use SenchaTouch or Appcelerator to convert the text to HTML5 to iPhone, but that's not as easy as having an Adobe DPS iPhone viewer and keeping it in the designers domain instead of having to code javascript etc.
