Can I scan a report in pdf format and edit the text using adobe acrobat?

You would probably want Pro. Do not expect a lot for 2 reasons. (1) OCR of a scan is not all that great in most cases. There are some third party products that focus on this function and probably do a better job. (2) Editing in Acrobat is hit and miss and should only be used for simple (minor) edits. Editing in Acrobat is not easy and does not generally include reflow and such things that you are used to with a word processor. You can try it with the trial version, but do not expect a lot. If you are wanting to do a lot of editing, Acrobat will not be the product to use for the editing. You might be able to export to a DOC file and edit there, but then you have to deal with the export issues also.

same problem for me. I am using abe edition 3 as I don't think 4 can be used with kobo. Book has been downloaded to kobo but it can't be read as it is not authorised.Help please

I can't get into my books in my library on Adobe Editions 4, they are there and it is asking me for vendor id and password. When I put them in, it is saying vendor id is no good.

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Where are those image file located? It sounds like they are located somewhere inside the iPhoto Library folder and iPhoto will not import any file located there. So move them to the Desktop and import from there. Never put any file inside the iPhoto Library folder via the Finder or move, rename or edit any file or folder via the Finder.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.

My kobo glo does not connect to adobe editions

I have installed adobe editions on my laptop and expected that when I plugged in my kobo glo into the laptop it would show as a device in the left panel when clicked into the library but it has not appeared. Is the kobo glo not compatible?

Sorry for not responding earlier - I have been felled by the flu and have been in bed since posting my issue on Christmas morning. I did get it figured out with installing the newer version of Digital Editions. Thanks for your help! I have to say, I am relatively computer savvy and am disappointed by how un-user-friendly it is to get a book from the library onto my Kobo! Now that I have it figured out, I'll keep doing it, and am really glad that Kobo allows it (unlike the Kindle) but would like to see it be as easy as it is to buy something from Kobo online. In any case - KoboGlo has kept me in good company over the past few days. Best present ever!

They should be in itunes on your computer. Just sync them to the ipod.

Adobe Edit in ACR stopped working.

Can anyone help ? I have been running Russell Brown's excellent 'Adobe Edit in ACR' script for some time now through version 1.1.5 and now 1.1.6 and for some reason it has now stopped working. I have made no changes to anything that I am aware of (running Photoshop CS6 Extended) but now when I attempt to run the script I get the following script error:
General Photoshop error occurred. This functionality may not be available in this version of Photoshop.
The object "current document' is not currently available"
The script worked 100% before (both 1.1.5 and 1.1.6) - I have uninstalled and re-installed to no avail.
When I run Adobe Edit in ACR it creates a Raw Smart Object layer and then the error message pops up - but ACR does not open. And yes - TIFF preferences within ACR have been set as per Russell's instructions.
Anyone got any clues - I e-mailed Russell himself but guess he will be too busy to respond.

I don't think the ACR and Photoshop perferences are not the problem. If the open tiff in ACR is not set the script will still run without errors it just doesn't open ACR. If the res is set to something other than 240ppi the replaced smart object will be a different size than the original layer.
I think I have tested all the different layer conditions and the following seems to have fixed the problem on my system. Can you edit the script with the changes below and see if those also fix it on your system. The panel is a Configurator panel that basically just runs the same script from a button. If this fix works for you I will update the panel.

Does adobe editions support kobo arc 7 hd?

trying to add new kobo arc 7 hd but adobe doesn't recognize it so can't transfer books

I'm giving the same advice a few times on different threads, so I hope it's right.
Digital Editions recognizes most dedicated eBook readers (as in the list) directly so they show up in ADE,
but does not recognize tablets that have eBook capabilities.
This includes android tablets (probably including KoboArc), and ios tablets such as iPad.
If you have a tablet, you need to install an eBook reading app on it: I suggest Bluefire.
Make sure Bluefire app is registered to the same AdobeID as your ADE.
You can then copy epub files from your PC/Mac using a file manager and read them using Bluefire.
(Apple makes it more difficult, you need iTunes, Dropbox or similar to copy).
If the books are not DRM, there is no need to use ADE at all;
either download them direct to the tablet and read on Bluefire, or download to the PC/Mac and copy.
For DRM library books you will find an Overdrive app that allows books to be checked out, downloaded and read directly on an android/ios device.
There are also dedicated apps from various vendors.

Set up Adobe Editions without authorisation how do I change

I bought a new laptop and tried to set up Adobe Digital Editions to download my E-books. When I tried to enter my Adobe username and password it said it was linked to another computer and couldn't be used, so I proceeded with authorising the computer. Now I can't move any of my ebooks to my ereader as they can only be read on my computer. I have set up a new Adobe username and password and have tried to authorise the computer but I get the message 'Activation Server Error - code E_AUTH_NOT_READY'. Digital Editions encountered an error in the activation server.
Any ideas what I am doing wrong and how to rectify this?

How can i download adobe editions on my nook?

I want to download ebooks from my library from my computer to my nook. The Nook people tell me that I need to download adobe digital editions to my nook, but I have not been able to do this. Can you help me?

You didn't say if it is a Nook dedicated eReader or a Nook tablet.
In either case, you can't download Digital Editions (ADE) to it.
For an eReader you need to download ADE to a computer, and connect the eReader to the computer by USB.
It should then show up as a device on the left hand panel of ADE.
Some devices fail to show up in ADE2.0, in that case install the older but more reliable ADE1.7.2 (see below).
For a tablet, you need to install a compatible eReader app such as Bluefire or Aldiko.
Then copy the books using a file manager (e.g. Windows Explorer or Finder) to the drive the tablet should be mounted as.
Or maybe try the Overdrive app if you only want it for library books.
Overdrive can borrow and download library books with no need for a PC/Mac,
but quite a few people have problems with authorizing Overdrive on Android.

There are lots of bugs in ADE2.0. Try replacing ADE2.0 with the older but more reliable v1.7.2.
(You can have them both installed at once if you like.)
Version 1.7.2, it is a little difficult to find, available on Adobe site for Windows and for Mac.

Cannot Download/Install Adobe Editions 1.7.2

I cannot download Adobe Digital Editions 1.7.2.
I'm currently running CS5.5 on Mac OSX 10.7.2 - The Digital Editions download page tells me "Sorry, but your system does not meet the minimum system requirements".
Has this app not been updated to work with 10.7.2?
And, if not, will it be updated?

Alex, I thought about what you said again. I think you may be on the edge
of discussing digital rights content management, which is different from
Flash. Let me take a moment to talk about that.
Adobe Content Server 5 or above has been adopted as one of the industry
standard protocols for publishers, distributors and authors to use to
implement digital rights. Although it's embedded in ADE, it's also
embedded in other epublication management software, such as Overdrive,
Calibre and Bluefire reader. If some of the ebooks you're working with
have digital rights protection, it's because the publisher or distributor
specified whether you're allowed to copy or print the epublication you're
working with. Amazon and Apple have chosen to use a different method to
activate digital rights protection in the epublications they distribute.
So, if you have an ebook with digital rights and you attempt to download it
from Apple onto a Mac, it will act differently than if you went to another
site (except Amazon) and tried to download it onto your Mac. In the first
instance, Apple will manage the process completely, interfacing with its
software on the Mac, and putting the ebook into an Apple library. In the
second instance, ADE will manage the process and put the ebook into its own
library.
Flash doesn't do any of this. If it's preventing you from going further,
it's managing application access, not application actions.

Trying to highlight text in adobe editions to use reader

we just installed a digital ebook for a dyslexic user. When she tries to highlight the text to run it through her reader, she cannot as the system expects she is trying to copy them.
Can anyone suggest a solution asap.

If you have been sent a PDF from Acrobat professional that has comments enabled you can hilight text add comments and so on. But some "text" maybe a flattened image or text is converted to outlines, ie you wont be able to highlight... if you open a PDF usong Macs Preview I think you can. (and other non adobe apps) otherwise in Reader opening a standard PDF... no u cant.... G

Windows 8 downloads with Adobe editions

I now have Windows 8 and any downloads from bookshops or library go straight into the Bookshelf and cant be transferred to my eReader.
