Adobe Elements 11 Organizer and Importing images from camera.

I changed Adobe Elements version (from 10 to 11) and Brand New all-in-one Dell XPS computer that comes with Windows 8 as OS (From XP SP3) ... Now my import in Adobe Organzer gets stuck.   Adobe Elements sees the camera, and compares the files on my camera to the photos in Organizer and knows how may are duplicates.   I then select all the photos it finds as Non-Duplicates and tell it what directory to import into and select (Finish/Import) and it just sits there.  I can change anything on that screen for options, but it really is locked up.   I have to use Task Manager to end the task so that I can get back into Adobe Organizer.    Maybe there is some kind of incompatibility with Windows 8 I am not aware of?

As you said "I am using this method as a bandaid, but this method will constantly copy all files (including old photos still on card) to a new folder.  This means that I have the same photo being copied from my cameras memory to multiple locations.  Not the best method (lots of clutter). "
This is not so. Importing photos using Watched Folders doesn't copy your photos to any other location.
Please empty your card and add 1-2 images to it. Now launch Photodownloader.exe from the location : C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Elements 11 Organizer
Post doing this, launch Organizer. Let's see if the import happens.
Thanks

  • PSE9 and importing images from Bridge

I have been using PSE8, and Bridge on my Mac for importing photos to the computer.  I uninstalled it before  upgrading to PSE9 and find Bridge no longer is used, and it seems the Organiser is the way to go.  How do I import all the images (several hundred) that were stored in folders on Bridge to PSE9's Organiser?  Will the folders come across intact, or will I have to sort and grade them all again?  Should I reinstall PSE8 just to use Bridge?  Any advice appreciated.  Thanks. Susan199

Nothing is stored in Bridge. Bridge is just a file browser: it shows you the current state of any folder you point it at.
If you want to Organize your photos, just use File>Get Photos>From Files and Folders and have it import the images in your current folders. Bridge keywords are metadata keywords recognized by many programs including organizer (however, organizer keywords, like those in iphoto, are proprietary to organizer and will not automatically be picked up by other programs, unless you write them into the files).
If you want to use Bridge with PSE 9, that's also possible, with the caveat that you can't update the bridge raw converter anymore, so you won't see thumbnails for images from newer cameras. Directions on using an existing version of bridge with PSE 9 are here:
    http://barbarabrundage.com/2011/01/13/using-bridge-with-photoshop-elements-9/
Organizer has a folder view which will recognize your existing folders, but if you decide to make Organizer your photo manager of choice, it's best to stop thinking in terms of folders. Use tags instead and stop thinking using folders for organization.

  • After import, image from camera replaced with old (and incorrect) image

i imported photos this morning.  maybe 200.  into Lightroom 5.6 (with
camera raw 8.6, running on macosx 10.9.5; see below for "system info").  the images came from my
Leica M Typ 240, and were in raw format.  after importing the images, i
went through them in my first editing pass.
going through, image 1867 ("L1001867.DNG") in LR was *not* the same as
image 1867 on my camera, but was, rather, an image (no longer on the
card in my camera) from 8 months ago in China.
the image on the camera was from 07.10.2014 15:49.15 (following one
taken at 15:49:07, which *did* show up in LR).  the *meta* data in LR
appears correct for the image from the camera (i.e, shows a date of
07.10.2014, has likely exposure information, etc.), but the image itself
    is the wrong image.
the image in LR *may* have been one i deleted (in LR), though i don't
know that for sure.  if i *did* delete it, i deleted it months ago.
the LR image was shot on 22.02.2014 at 02:51-02:52 (i typically don't
change the clock).  while i don't know for sure the image number of the
image in LR, it *appears* to be image 1419.
obviously, this is fairly worrying (as i count of LR to keep my
inventory!).  what can i do to help you troubleshoot this?  what can you
tell me about what is happening?

it appears the actual image is probably in place, but the *preview* is incorrect.  clicking on the image to zoom in causes (the normal) "Loading...", followed by a zoomed in view of the *correct* image.  zooming back out gives the normal view of the correct image.  (*very* good to know!)

  • WLSE and importing images from CCO

I am trying to import images to my wlse and keep getting this error
Device type: AP1200-IOS, version: 12.2.15-JA. Image import failed. Imported file is not a valid image.
Device type: AP1100-IOS, version: 12.2.15-JA. Image import failed. Imported file is not a valid image
I thought this might be because I was running 2.7 and so I upgraded to 2.7.1 and still the same problem. Anyone else encountered this?
    Regards
    Doug Pallette

Most likely due to CSCee37875. Workaround is to use Import from Desktop instead, after downloading the image from CCO outside of WLSE.

  • IPhoto won't import images from camera

When I connect my camera to my computer iPhoto recognizes the camera but says there are no items to import. The camera has about 40 photos in its memory. What gives. I have intel iMac OS X 10.4.6, iphoto 6.0.1 and a nikon coolpix 5200 (lists says its compatible) set to PTP. Why can't I import the images from the camera to my computer? please help

    David:
Welcome to the Apple Discussions. If you use Image Capture will it see the photos in the camera? It's located in your Applications folder. I'm guessing it will and that will give you a workaround until the iPhoto issue is resolved.
I see where you're still at 6.0.1. I'd update iPhoto to the latest version, 6.0.2, repair disk permission, and then see if iPhoto will see the files.

  • IPhoto 6 - importing images from camera

I'm trying to import photos from a Nikon D90, and iPhoto sees all 1139 images, but only imports 390. It says there's something wrong with the other photos. However, the Nikon D90 software (Nikon Transfer) can transfer all the photos. Is there some limit to the size of iPhoto (either amt that can be transferred each session, or total size of the library)? Do I need to update or rebuild the library?
    Thanks,
    Bonnie

I'm trying to import photos from a Nikon D90, and iPhoto sees all 1139 images, but only imports 390. It says there's something wrong with the other photos.
    What is the error?
Is there some limit to the size of iPhoto (either amt that can be transferred each session, or total size of the library)?
No - the library can be 250,000 photos
Do I need to update or rebuild the library?
Possibly but you need to give more information on what is happening -
Can you import the photos once you have used the Nikon software to download them
Are there any large video's in the set you are trying to download?
    have you tried Image capture?
have you used a USB card reader?
have you mounted the camera to the desktop and downloaded the photos and then imported them?

  • Using Bridge to Import Images from Camera to Harddrive. Question inside...

I have Bridge automatically download images when my camera is connected.
I was wondering if it was possible to have Bridge ONLY download RAW (nef) and JPEG files. because i also shoot video with one of my cameras, but it downloads my AVI files as well.
    thanks for your help

Don't know about AVI but if you select the advanced dialog in Photodownloader you can put checkmarks on the files you want to be downloaded or not. You can also set the option create subfolders to a set of names or dates.
Beside that, it is common knowledge that the use of a separate card reader for downloading images to the computer is preferred above the connection from camera to computer :-)

  • Iphoto will not recognize and import photos from camera.

Have a Kodak camera and never had any problems importing pictures from it directly to Iphoto until I upgraded My Imac to 10.6.8 Am using Iphoto 09 version 8.1.2. This is becoming quite a problem after searching for answers and seeing all the posts all over the place. I think it must be the Mac upgrade. Can't be the camera. Thanks for any help. I can get pics to Iphot but what a hassle.

While some issues have been reported with some Kodak camera's a more likely problem is the format of the memory card - get your photos off and reformat the card using the camera's format command  you can also try renewing the iPhoto preference file -
A good general step for strange issues is to renew the iPhoto preference file - quit iPhoto and go to "your user name" ==> library ==> preferences ==> com.apple.iPhoto.plist and trash it - launch iPhoto which creates a fresh new default preference file and reset any personal preferences you have changed and if you have moved the iPhoto library repoint to it. This may help
This does not affect your photos or any database information (keywords, faces, places, ratings, etc) in any way - they are stored in the iPhoto library - the iPhoto preference file simply controls how iPhoto works - which is why renewing it is a good first step.

  • Get and save image from camera

Hi I need to grab an image from a camera and save it in a known format (such as TIF).  What is the best way to do this in LabView.  We are using an EDT camera via a PCI DV C-Link http://www.edt.com/pcidv_cl.html.  Appreciate any help/ guidance.

    EDT says:
Do you have Labview drivers? Matlab? IDL? Others?
    Not
directly. Our API is designed to allow programmers to build
functionality into their applications, and all hooks are available to
make EDT API subroutine calls from drivers for third party packages,
but we do not provide the drivers ourselves. Some drivers are available
from other providers; see our Partners page.
So you will need to use the Call Library Function Node to integrate their Drivers DLL into your LV. How to save the images then in a standart format depends on the data format you get from their driver.
Using an NI Framegrabber would be easier

  • Using Adobe Photoshop Elements 13 organizer to download pictures from camera

I have a Canon Rebel XT EOS 350D.  I am unable to get photos from the camera.  "No device found." According to my research on Adobe website this camera is supported.  What do I need to do?

  • LR displays "no preview available" upon import direct from camera after last update. How do I fix this?

I have the latest LR update with Nikon D700 and import directly from camera. I purchased a new CF card in case the old one was the problem but I get the same thing with the new card. Is there a bug in the last update or is this a problem with my equipment?

    Hey everyone in Apple world!
I figured out how to fix the flashing yellow screen problem that I've been having on my MBP!  Yessssss!!!
I found this super handy website with the golden answer: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1379
I followed the instructions on this page and here's what I did:
    Resetting NVRAM / PRAM
    Shut down your Mac.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command (⌘), Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
    Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
    Release the keys.
I went through the 6 steps above twice, just to make sure I got rid of whatever stuff was holding up my bootup process.  Since I did that, my MBP boots up just like normal.  No flashing yellow screen anymore!!
(Note that I arrived at this solution when I first saw this page: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2570?viewlocale=en_US)
Let me know if this works for you!

  • How receive image from camera with PCI-bus

    Hello all
    Please help
    me.
    I have LV 7.1.1.
    I wont
watch two and more images from cameras at the same time.
    I have capture
    card (PCI-bus) with 4 video-input.
    What kind
of data must be transfered from this capture card  to LV?
     With respect
    Aleksandr.

    Hello Aleksandr
please provide more information, what type of video card do you have?
Have you configure the card so you can watch an image with MAX?
I suppose the card has the ability to capture more than one image at a time is that true?, however most of the cards that I know of, have several inputs but you can only display one image at a time, you can swith between them and capture and image from another input, to capture more than one unit at a time you would need to open/close sessions with the instrument/card such that you are switching from one input to another

  • I cannot import images from my camera directly into Elements Organizer

I am trying to import images into Elements Organizer from my Canon EOS 6D, but it doesn't work properly. I am expecting the images to appear in the Elements Organizer, but the images are only imported onto disk. At the moment I have to re-import images from the disk location as a second step. How can I perform this in one step, as I have seen this in the tutorials?
I am on a Mac using Yosemite using version 13 of Elements Organizer.

There is no "into". LR and PS just reference your photos on the hard drive.
When you import your photos "into" the LR catalog, LR can copy the images off your memory cards to the hard drive if you have not already copied them, but the photos are referenced by the LR catalog by the path and filename for the files.
If you are having problems getting the images off the cards, what steps are you using and what error messages are you getting?

    Hi
I have purchase a new Mac with the 10.9 version and I am using Photo Elements 12.  I am trying to import images from my CanoScan 9000f scanner but I can't see the scanner in the Organizer, Files, Get Photos and Videos, there is no Scanner option.  But I can use my scanner using the Canon Sofware for the scanner.  Can you tell me what I have to do to be able to use my scanner directly on adobe Elements 12 ?
    Simon

You do not use the 'Import' function under the File Menu to import P2 card content because the video content is still in its native form. For example, my Panasonic HPX 171 produces .MXF video files (amongst all the other files and folders within the overall heirarchy).
In order to access the copied P2 information you have to Log & Transfer it, as if it were a camera plugged into the computer. This process then converts the MXF P2 files into a Quicktime format that the Final Cut application can read and work with.
Take note that when archiving a P2 card as you did it is imperative that ALL the other files and folders are copied and saved. In other words, the entire 'CONTENTS' folder. It is this 'CONTENTS' folder that you navigate to within Log & Transfer when you want to import to FCP.
