  • Adobe elements organizer 12 will not open.

I just installed Adobe photoshop on my Mac (Maverick) a few days ago and it worked fine. However, now the organizer will not open. Photoshop is fine. Occasionally it will begin to open, but then will disappear. I took previous idea of clearing media analyses, but that did not help. Ideas?

Open the organizer while holding down the shift key to bring up the catalog manager. Find your catalog>repair>optimize.
If you can't open it at all, go to your username>library>preferences and delete everything beginning com.adobe.Elements Organizer (with or without a space between Elements and Organizer). To see the user library, click the Go menu in the finder and hold down the Option key and it will appear below the little house for your user account.

  • How do iPhoto and Adobe Elements Organizer compare?

I just installed Photoshop Elements 13 and am curious how others compare iPhoto 11 and Adobe Elements Organizer 13 compare.

To use PSE 13 as the external editor in iPhoto be sure to select the correct file when selecting PSE from iPhoto's Advanced preference pane.  It should be the Photoshop Elements Editor.app and not the Adobe Elements 13 Organizer.app.  With PSE 10 the editor app was located in the Support Files folder.
With iPhoto 9 if you edit a photo with PSE and do just a Save (i.e. no layers and you're saving as jpeg) iPhoto will recognize the edit, change the thumbnail accordingly. You can do further edits with PSE on that photo or do a Revert to Original on it to get back to the original file.
However, that edited version can't be edited with iPhoto without duplicating the edited  file in iPhoto and then editing the duplicate.   This message comes up:

  • No sound playing *MTS videos in Adobe elements organizer 11 on MAC

After an upgrade from PSE 9 to Photoshop elements 11 there´s no sound when playing *.MTS videos in Adobe elements organizer 11 on a MAC (They´ve been importes with Adobe elements organizer). (With other programs, like Toast or VLC the videos play perfectly with sound). What to do? I´d like to "preview" the (all) videos in Adobe Elements organizer 11 WITH sound.

I have the same issue!!  Was your problem ever resolved?

  • How do I reinstall Adobe Elements & Organizer?

Due to a virus, I am starting over with nothing. I want to reinstall Adobe Elements & Organizer, but can not find a place to do that.  Any help is appreciated.

If you can find whichever versions you mean at the site linked below you can download the trial version of the software and then use your current serial number to activate.
Be sure to follow the steps outlined in the Note: Very Important Instructions section on the download pages at this site or else the download will not work properly.

  • Adobe Elements Organizer 10 Videos von Kamera laden

    Hallo,

  • IPhoto as Library and Adobe Elements Organizer as download client

I wanted to use Adobe Elements 9 Organizer as the download client as I can actually see image files saved and grouped by folders and iPhoto as library and creative authoring.
Will using iPhoto to create library from Pictures Folder (those saved by Elements Organizer) duplicate the photos that are already in that folder? I kind think that iPhoto will copy those photos into its own. I worry about duplicating the JPEG files in my Pictures Folder.
    Thanks.

I'm with Larry when he says to pick one horse and ride it. This can get quite confusing very quickly.
    To answer your specific question:
Will using iPhoto to create library from Pictures Folder (those saved by Elements Organizer) duplicate the photos that are already in that folder
By default, yes, but you can set iPhoto not to. But note: a: What Happens when you do - for instance, that various versions of the files will not be available except through iPhoto, which will confuse your proposed system, and b: The various caveats to running a Referenced Library.
    *How to do it:*
Simply go to iPhoto Menu -> Preferences -> Advanced and uncheck 'Copy Files to the iPhoto Library on Import'.
    *What Happens:*
Now iPhoto will not copy the files, but rather simply reference them on your HD. To do this it will create an alias in the Originals Folder that points to your file. It will still create a thumbnail and, if you modify the pics, a Modified version within the iPhoto Library Folder.
    *Some things to consider:*
    1. Importing and deleting pics are more complex procedures. You have to to put the files where they will be stored before importing them. When you delete them you'll need to remove the files from the HD yourself.
    2. You cannot move or rename the files on your system or iPhoto will lose track of them on systems prior to 10.5 and iPhoto 08. Even with the later versions issues can still arise if you move the referenced files to new volumes or between volumes.
    3. Most importantly, migrating to a new disk or computer can be much more complex.
    4. Because iPhoto has no tools for managing Referenced Files, if, for some reason, the path to the photos changes then you could find yourself resolving aliases for +each photo in the Library+ one by one.
    My own opinion:
I've yet to see a good reason to run iPhoto in referenced mode unless you're using two photo organiser
If disk space is an issue, you can run an entire iPhoto Library from an external disk:
    1. Quit iPhoto
    2. Copy the iPhoto Library as an entity from your Pictures Folder to the External Disk.
    3. Hold down the option (or alt) key while launching iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library' and navigate to the new location. From that point on this will be the default location of your library.
    4. Test the library and when you're sure all is well, trash the one on your internal HD to free up space.
If you're concerned about accessing the files, There are many, many ways to access your files in iPhoto:
*For Users of 10.5 and later*
You can use any Open / Attach / Browse dialogue. On the left there's a Media heading, your pics can be accessed there. Command-Click for selecting multiple pics.
    Uploaded with plasq's Skitch!
You can access the Library from the New Message Window in Mail:
    Uploaded with plasq's Skitch!
*For users of 10.4 and later* ...
Many internet sites such as Flickr and SmugMug have plug-ins for accessing the iPhoto Library. If the site you want to use doesn’t then some, one or any of these will also work:
To upload to a site that does not have an iPhoto Export Plug-in the recommended way is to Select the Pic in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export and export the pic to the desktop, then upload from there. After the upload you can trash the pic on the desktop. It's only a copy and your original is safe in iPhoto.
This is also true for emailing with Web-based services. However, if you're using Gmail you can use iPhoto2GMail
If you use Apple's Mail, Entourage, AOL or Eudora you can email from within iPhoto.
If you use a Cocoa-based Browser such as Safari, you can drag the pics from the iPhoto Window to the Attach window in the browser.
*If you want to access the files with iPhoto not running*:
For users of 10.6 and later:
You can download a free Services component from MacOSXAutomation which will give you access to the iPhoto Library from your Services Menu. Using the Services Preference Pane you can even create a keyboard shortcut for it.
For Users of 10.4 and later:
Create a Media Browser using Automator (takes about 10 seconds) or use this free utility Karelia iMedia Browser
    Other options include:
    1. *Drag and Drop*: Drag a photo from the iPhoto Window to the desktop, there iPhoto will make a full-sized copy of the pic.
    2. *File -> Export*: Select the files in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export. The dialogue will give you various options, including altering the format, naming the files and changing the size. Again, producing a copy.
    3. *Show File*: Right- (or Control-) Click on a pic and in the resulting dialogue choose 'Show File'. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected.
    *An Alternative*
Set Elements as an External Editor in iPhoto: You can set Photoshop (or any image editor) as an external editor in iPhoto. (Preferences -> General -> Edit Photo: Choose from the Drop Down Menu.) This way, when you double click a pic to edit in iPhoto it will open automatically in Photoshop or your Image Editor, and when you save it it's sent back to iPhoto automatically. This is the only way that edits made in another application will be displayed in iPhoto.
Note that iPhoto sends a copy+ of the file to Photoshop, so when you save be sure to use the Save command, not Save As... If you use Save As then you're creating a new file and iPhoto has no way of knowing about this new file. iPhoto is preserving your original anyway.
    Regards
    TD

  • Adobe Elements Organizer 8.0: Miniaturen

    Hilfe!!!

The File->Backup Catalog command creates backups of the catalog file and all photos.
You can back-up your catalog "manually" by making a copy of the catalog file (*.pse8db) on a different physical disk.
Stack and album information is never stored in the photo files; it exists only in the catalog file.
When I reinstall PSE8 and add the photos to the catalogus again (without
the backup option) does it recognize/knows that the photos have
been/are part of a stacked collection?
If you have to reinstall PSE8 on the same hard disk (assuming it hasn't been formatted), your catalog should not be affected in any way. There is no need for you (and in fact, it is a very bad idea) to add the photos to the catalog again. Which brings up the question ... why are you even considering re-installing PSE8? What problem does this solve? Normally you wouldn't reinstall PSE8, and it doesn't solve some problems that people think it will solve.

  • Backup Data/Options - Adobe Elements Organizer 8

I recently own Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 and have some question regarding the backup option of the organizer.
Is it possible to backup your personal settings/catalogus without backing up the photos?
Since when I click the backup button the complete selected Catalogus is backed up including the photos.
However, for me this unnecessary since I already back up my photocollection automatically.
Backing up the photos via Adobe would mean another backup which in my case is unnecessary AND harddisk consumption.
Furthermore, I know there is an option by which you can add  data such as meta, tags (except the album information for which I know this can not be stored in the photo properties) to a photo.
Does this also include - stacked photo information - what I mean or try to explain is - I have stacked e.g. 4 photos. When I reinstall PSE8 and add the photos to the catalogus again (without the backup option) does it recognize/knows that the photos have been/are part of a stacked collection?
Or can this kind of information only be restored with the build in backup function.
In short can I backup a catalogus containing stacked / album information without the use of the backup function or the necessity to backup the actual photos too?
    Kind regards

  • How can I get through this Adobe Elements 9 error message

It's been perfectly installed and I'm using a serial number. Everytime I try to go to an old project or create a new one it says "Sorry, a serious error has occured that requires Adobe Premiere Elements to shut down. We will attempt to save your current project." The full layout can't even show because of this. It's just a grey screen and you cannot access the options on the bar they are non clickable expect for New, Open Project, Recent Project, or exit. It's very annoying and I can't even do anything because of this..Does anyone have any solutions or has encountered this? I'm running on a Dell Inspiron which came with the double disk of this and Photoshop Elements 9 which I have no problems with whatsoever.

    Hi Oppositeofhood,
    Welcome to Adobe Forums.
Please navigate to the below path and rename the syles folder to styles.old
    For Windows: C:\Users\bahl\Documents\Adobe\Premiere Elements\9.0
For mac: Open the finder, go to documents>Adobe>Premiere Elements\9.0
Then try to re-launch Premiere Elements and check if the issue persists.
    Thanks

  • Adobe Elements Organizer V13

I recently upgraded from Adobe Organizer V11 to V13 with more than 13,0000 photos.  The conversion worked well and all the photos and attributes came over.  With the original downloaded V13.0 all worked OK, I was prompted to upgrade to V13.1 and that is causing the following problems:
The down arrow to the left of the photos is no longer active.  The up arrow (page up) is OK
My scroll wheel on my mouse works to go UP but DOWN is no longer active
My photo album keep getting hung up at 12063 of 13334 photo and crashes the program.  I there an upper limit to the number of photos that can be in a catalog?  If yes, what is the work around.  If not, what can I do.
I plan on going back to the original V13.0 until someone tells me that V13.2 is going to fix the above.
    Help Please

Is it 13,000 or 130,000 ? 13,000 is a fairly small catalog, 130,000 is a really big one but that should not explain the crash.

Not mentionned by anyone as far as I know.
My scroll wheel on my mouse works to go UP but DOWN is no longer active
    Known problem acknowledged by Adobe.

That does not seem related to the 13.1 update. Generally this is due to a corrupt or 'poison' file, generally video. In which circumstances does your album (catalog?) crash ? You should try to 'repair catalog' from the catalog manager.
I plan on going back to the original V13.0 until someone tells me that V13.2 is going to fix the above.

This seems logical. The changes on 13.1 version are important for some users, but negligible to most.
I don't think that will help for your catalog problem, so come back with a more detailed description of your problem.

When you select an album, the sort by dropdown on the top left corner of the grid has one more option- Album order. Using this you may drag drop media in the grid to re-arrange.

  • Getting error "Adobe Elements 10 Organizer quit unexpectedly"

Started getting error message "Adobe Elements 10 Organizer quit unexpectedly" when trying to edit a photo on Adobe Photoshop Elements 10.
Am running it on an Imac with OS X 10.7.4 operating system.  Started getting this error about a week ago after installing it and using it since early January of 2012 with no problems.
Can anyone shed any light on how to fix this error???

First I would repair and optimize your catalog. Then if it keeps happening, go to your username>library>preferences folder and delete all the files with names like com.adobe.Elements Organizer.plist. There will be more than one.
That library is hidden in lion. To see it, hold down the option key while clicking the Go menu in the finder. It will appear below the little house for your user account.
While you're in that library, I would also delete any saved application states for PSE.
    Repair permissions when you're done.

  • Adobe Elements 9 Organizer Issue?

I Use this to organize and store My Photos, Lately it has stopped at J or S in the Organize area so I can't access files starting with letters beyond these letters any Ideas?

Go to your username>library>preferences and delete
    com.adobe.Elements Organizer.9.0.plist
    com.adobe.ElementsOrganizer9.plist
and any lockfiles with the same names
    Repair permissions and try again.
Note that the user library is hidden in 10.7. To see it, click the Go menu in the Finder and hold down the Option key and it will appear below the little house for your user account.
You will need to use the catalog manager to select your catalog again after doing this, so hold down shift while starting the organizer.
