ADOBE ENCORE CS3 Multiple Timeline AUDIO issue

Hello All,
I have ADOBE Encore CS3  project setup and i have the following assets in the project.
1. Timeline1.
2. Timeline2.
3. Main Menu
4. Sub Menu or Chapter Menu
5. Audio for Main Menu (MP3)
6. Audio for Sub Menu (MP3)
Setup:
1. Main Menu contains the links to Timeline1, Timeline2 and Submenu. And Main Menu has been selected as Start of Play screen.
2. SubMenu has Chapters linked to Chapters on Timeline 1, Timeline 2.
3. End of Action is set on both the Timelines. And the End of Action being set to go back to Main Menu on both the timelines.
The Problem is:
In the preview mode:
1. The Main Menu display with the audio. When the link to Timeline1 Video is selected, Timeline1 Video is played and Audio is heard. No Issues here.
2. End of Action is clicked on the Timeline1, and it comes back to the Main Menu. No Issues here.
3. Timeline2 is selected Video is displayed and audio is heard. No issues here.
4. End of Action is clicked on Timeline2 and the control comes back to Main Menu. No Issues here.
5. Now I select Timeline1 Video again from Main Menu, the issue is, TIMELINE1 VIDEO is played, but NO AUDIO is heard. This happens always whenver i come back from Timeline2 to Timeline1 either from Chapters Menu or Main Menu.
Could you please tell me whether it is a ENCORE issue or is it something related to my authoring.
Please Advise,
Venky

What happens if you actually create a disc instead of using preview?
Try to an RW disc, and please check this.
Remember that preview mode is not an actual multiplex of the final VOB filesthat compiling the disc will create, and as such can be a little wobbly whereas a real disc will be properly multiplexed together.
Also - just to humour me - please do not use MP3 audio, as you are forcing on-the-fly sample rate conversion which is not a good idea.

  • When does Adobe Encore CS3 support DTS-HD audio

When does Adobe Encore CS3 support DTS-HD audio?
Today I have tried to make a Blu-ray disc project with a 5.1 DTS-HD (192 kHz)audio track, but the DTS-HD audio track was much longer in the timeline than the videotrack! while the DTS-HD was encoded properly and was excactly the same length then the videotrack,
I think DTS-HD is still not supported by Adobe CS3....when will there be an update to solve this?

    Okay - bug confirmed here.
DTS-HD MAS is not being correctly parsed by CS3.
I tried this using a 24-48 5.1 DTS-HD MAS file, and a file lasting around 20 minutes came in at over 4 hours in CS3.
Admittedly, I used the Blu Ray + HD DVD Primary profile.
So, I tried again using a 4.18 duration 5.1 mix at 24/48 resolution, using the pure Blu Ray profile.
When imported into Encore CS3, this came out at an apparent 1 hour 6 min file. Clearly, something is wrong here.
Further - it would appear that despite it being possible to import the stream, DTS-HD is simply not supported at all - you have to enable the "All Files" option to get the import dialogue to even see the file.
Yet again, we see Audio as the poor relation in a video suite.

Best file a feature request for DTS-HD support.

Same form should also be used for the Bug Report.
If enough people ask for this, it may get implemented - and as Adobe are concentrating on Flash & Blu Ray these days, you may even get lucky.

  • Download for Adobe Encore CS3?

In the process of reinstalling Adobe Encore CS3 from an Adobe created disc, I get a message from McAfee antivirus that the disc contains a virus.  Is there a way I can download Adobe Encore CS3 directly from the Adobe website?

The only way you can download a product from Adobe is if you originally purchased via download, so you may go back to "your" account at Adobe to use your original download link
Since you have a disc from Adobe, and I do not remember ever reading of a virus on an Adobe disc, I will guess that McAfee is wrong
Until I upgraded to CS5, I had CS3 on disc, and Norton did not complain when I installed
    I suggest you contact MacAfee

  • Mac Encore CS3: 'Check A Project' Issue

    Hi,
Has anyone else encountered this with the Mac-Intel version of Encore CS3?
When 'building' and 'checking' an Encore CS3 project for problems, double clicking on a problem in the "Check a project" window 'opens' the item in the 'Properties Pane' but doesn't enable fixing in the'Properties Pane'as specified in the user guide?
For reference - Encore CS3 User Guide > Page 172 > "Check a project" > "A. Check the problems you want to identify" > "B. Double-click to open and fix a problem item" ("double-click" operation doesn't work properly)
It works just as specified on both Windows versions of Encore DVD 2.0 and Encore CS3!
    Thanks,
    Iain.

    Andy,
I'm assuming that you're running an IMAC version 10.5.8 with a 2 GHz Intel core 2 Duo.
Apple just did a major release for the IMAC.  I bought mine a year ago and pefromed the update.
THIS UPDATE WILL HAVE SOME WEIRD EFFECTS your files, especially adobe files.
It may not open them corectly or the new search algorithm has address header infomation to your files
which Adobe is not addressing.  If this is what is happening to you, then try the following.
    Perform a simple test.
    1) Create a brand new project. Menu, video, audio, timeline.  Same it.
    2) Reboot your  computer.  Open the project.  If it opens then you won't have the problem for all future project.
If you cannot open an old project, then it in order to retrive it, this may work.
Use the time machine feature on your imac (hopefully you enabled it).  If not this won't work.
    1) Set the time machine back to the last time you used a encore file, see if you can open it.
    2) IF YOU CAN, copy the PROJECT file off to a thumbnail drive. Remove the thumbnail drive frmo the computer.
    3) Set the time machine back to the present.
    4) Insert the thumbnail drive back into the computer.  open the project from the thumbnail
    5) If you are to open it, resave the project onto your computer's hard drive.
Let me know if that works.
    Good luck

My computer was hacked and I had to reformat everything only to find that the keylogger was in my router. I lost everything in 4 computers. I bought and paid for Encore CS3 but can only find "updates" and not the original program to update on my Adobe account  product page. I also updated Premiere Pro to CS4 which I found.
Please help. Where is the Encore CS3 download?

  • Adobe  encore cs6 with no audio

If i open up a sequence or dynamic link a sequence to encore, I donnot get audio although I see the audio track in the timeline.  If I import a rendered mp4, I get the audio or if I import a vidoe file directly from my canon xa10, I hear the audio.  No idea what to do

This has been a running issue for everybody who has ever tried to burn a bluray by adjusting the presets... ...Make sure you transcode first, and make sure you fit your audio into the following setup (as described by the bluray standard):
Bluray "Supports" only those configs for video used in main concept, and if you use any other type of config, you won't get audio with it, you'll have to encode yourself and import
To get dynamic link to recognize audio, you'll need to conform to:  48khz max, at 256-448kbps, and 16bits
Got this from some forum... ...cant remember which:
"I've been absolutely unable to get anything beyond those specs to work.  If you can MUX them together, you might get the right combo, but you'll have to use AAC audio.  If you have an encoder that will produce an audio stream in AAC and a video stream that is a raw .264 file, you can use the 264 as a transcode in cs6, but you'll have to import the audio as an asset and apply it to the track.  Then, when the video is built, you'll get a muxed audio and video.  It doesn't always work.  I've had it fail a few times.  But when it works you get high quality audio.  If you want a straight burn, stick to 48k, 16bit, pcm and let encore send the transcode to AME.  Make sure you leave encore running, as it will facilitate the dynamic link in tying the audio output in with the video when it ties the transcode to a sequence from premiere.  It will probably not play sound in encore, but it will play the sound on a blu-ray.  If you have to locate the transcode, it will fail to get sound as it only seeks the video file, and you'll have to encode audio separately, placing it on a track in encore.  This means coding it to AAC and praying you get the sync right.  If you don't want to worry about the sync, make sure to fill any blank audio areas in the premiere sequence with silence, that way the length of the audio will match that of the video, and it will synchronize perfectly."
I'll try this myself and let you know...  Fingers crossed.

  • Adobe Encore CS3 compatiblity with Windows 8.1?

    Is Encore CS3 compatible?

CS3 is old enough, and Win8.1 is new enough, that you may not find anyone here with that combination
Have you tried installing and using?
Doing Run as Administrator http://forums.adobe.com/thread/969395 [says Encore and also for "All" versions of Premiere] will often be needed
You also MAY need to right click the program icon and select a compatibility mode from the popup option window (I know this for Win7 but do NOT know if Win8.1 has the same popup)

  • Adobe Encore CS3  Recorder: None Found?

I'm using Encore CS3.  I have burned DVDs with it many times before, but today it tells me in the "Build --> Destination" box: "Recorder: None Found."  I click refresh but nothing happens.  I know I have two working DVD writers connected to the computer, but Encore refuses to recognize them.  I tried re-installing, but I still have the same problem.  I have also tried running the program as administrator.  What can be causing this problem?

When a program works one day, but not the next, then something has changed.
The trick is finding out what has changed.
Did you add any new software (maybe Nero, or Roxio)?
Do you use Quicken and its Backup Up to Disc, where you burn to a CD?
Did you add any new hardware?
Have you run any Windows OS updates, or hot-fixes? [usually results in broken/obsolete video or audio drivers.]
Do you have a Restore Point from when things did work?
Take a look at this ARTICLE in the Encore FAQ.
    Good luck,

  • Can Adobe Encore CS3 make a 24p DVD or not?

I'm trying to create a professional quality 24p DVD (Progressive: 23.976 fps)  But when you open Encore and choose Authoring Mode: DVD I only have two options PAL or NTSC and all the other options are disabled!  But that screen says: It will be either 29.97i for NTSC or 25i for PAL.  I'm trying to make a real DVD here!  Not a home movie.  How do I get rid of the interlacing and get it to 24 fps?  If I change the transcode settings inside the project after accepting one of those bad settings does that do anything?  It doesn't seem like it when I write my DVD.

    JackSkyyler wrote:
Anyway, the thing I'm confused on is: how would it work when I'm in a 29.97i project?  It doesn't seem like it could be writing it correctly.
Oh, and in format should I be using MPEG2 or MPEG2-DVD
I tried the MPEG2 because I'd already tried this for MPEG2-DVD and it didn't seem to work plus I couldn't find the pulldown option on it.
You need to do some serious research on the DVD spec and what's legal  and what's not.  Encore's got its share of bugs, but there's no hope  for a successful project unless the author knows what he's doing.  24P  isn't for home movies (as you've noted) and it moves you squarely  into big-boy land.  Your questions indicate that you have no idea about how 24P footage can be stored on an NTSC DVD.  May I suggest the DVD FAQ at the DVD Demystified web site?
Two En CS3 bugs are noteworthy:
En will re-transcode your video, even if it is DVD-legal, if it contains multiplexed audio that doesn't match your En project audio settings.  That's why it's best to transcode to elementary streams: M2V video and WAV or AC3 audio.
If you allow En to transcode your 24P video, En will hard-code the 2:3 pulldown into the video stream instead of simply setting pulldown flags.  You'll end up with a real 29.97 fps interlaced video file and your 24P look will be ruined.  En CS4 and En CS5 don't have that issue.
Your other option is to hire an experienced DVD author to author the disc for you.

  • Adobe Encore CS3 resets computer during import

While trying to import a 630 MB .M2V created by Premiere CS3, it stops processing the file and then the estimated time starts incrementing about 1.5 seconds or more per acutal elapsed second, and eventually the computer just resets.

Interesting. While I've seen drivers, both Audio & Video, cause all sorts of issues, I've not heard of a BSOD situation. Thanks for posting.
I do strongly recommend that one keep these two sets of drivers updated religiously. Many OS updates (most happen in the background and users do not usually even know that they are being applies) will render both the Audio & Video drivers obsolete in a heartbeat.
When someone posts that their system worked one day, but not the next, this is usually the first thing that I'll recommend. In very many cases, what changed was a simple MS update, and no one was even aware that it was happening. That is one reason that I have all updates set to full manual, with only notification of availability. I want to know when something is possibly going to require additional intervention, like updating all drivers.
I also have every computer set up to NOT reboot on error. I want to see the BSOD and take any notes that might yield even a clue as to what happened. Unfortunatley, most of the data presented is stuff that even MS's coders cannot figure out.
When someone is experiencing big problems, this VIDEO will offer some tips, some utility recs. and maybe some insight into how best to troubleshoot. There are also some subtle laughs along the way. Warning, it's long and does have a lot of tech-speak. Not for the technically challenged.
    Thanks for posting,

  • Adobe Reader 9 - multiple instances performance issue

Dear all, I am having some performance issues regarding adobe reader, but only when running multiple instances. Opening a single, relatively small pdf ( 418kb ) works perfect, but adding to the list of open flies another very small file ( 102kb ), the cpu usage jumps to cca. 53% mouse movements become jumpy and the cooling fan goes nuts. Nothing helps until the second file I've opened is closed. Closing only the first instance doesn't help at all.
This happens with any two files I've tried. Large, small, graphics or not. Hardware is not the issue.
    Any ideas?
    Kind regards,
    Vince

This second file: is it one you made? Or does it happen with any

  • Adobe Encore CS4, Blu-ray burning issues

    Greetings!
I'm trying to get some Blu-ray discs authored for a client and am running into a snag on the last 2 discs that remain. When it gets to actually writing to the BD media, it comes up with an error message (See screenshot).
This is starting to drive me up the wall as I've been fine all along with creating Blu-ray discs up until now, and I'm sure my client is getting anxious.
For what it's worth, I am using Verbatim DataLifePlus media, 25gb. As far as what I'm bringing into Encore (which I have been doing this method many times in the past with no snags whatsoever and getting great results), I'm using the Blu-ray M2V export option. There are no issues during the transcoding phase, it's just when it finally gets to actually writing to the media. I have created ISO's of the Blu-rays I'm trying to finish (Making the ISO files come out fine) and running into a snag using other software capable of burning disc images. With this said, what could be going on? Could my optical drive be kicking the bucket?
Also to point out, where it's telling me that there's not enough space, there is some remaining space.
An interesting thing to note as well, my write speed dropdown is grayed out (The media I'm using recommends 6X buring speed).
Any feedback would be hugely appreciated as I'm trying to get this job wrapped up.

If Ann's comment doesn't fix the issue for you, the most common workaround for this is to build to a folder and burn with ImgBurn (for PC) or toast (for Mac).
So what were the issues you ran into when you tried that.
I am sure you have searched this error, and you can see that there has been success in many situations. I do not believe that it is one problem.
I have generally believed that Ann is correct and that it refers to temporary storage on the hard drive. And users underestimate the amount of temporary hard disk drive space used.
Some users experience this error when they are creating dual layer BD disks, and a layer is more than 25G. Each video/layer must fit on one side.
And some users got resolution by reencoding to a lower bitrate (a 25G BD disk does not hold 25G). Encore uses padding to predict the size on disk (e.g. add 10% to the amount of space it predicts that build will use), and it can be wrong.
Always good to "run as administrator, though I don't know that ever fixed this issue if someone wasn't.

  • Adobe Encore CS3 Won't Build or Check Project to Burn to DVD

Instead, it just crashes.  Everytime.  I press 'Build' and 'Check Project' and after a minute or so it just goes kuput.
I have freed up half my memory and manually transcoded the video and audio in the project thinking that would solve the problem and it hasn't.  Something is up.  Anyone know what else could be the problem?
By the way, I'm using a Intel iMac with an external drive.  And I've done this with both the project on the external drive and on the Mac's main drive.  Neither works.

I am Win-PC, but these may help

Oops - mea cupla - it's stated clearly in your original post.
    Sorry.
Okay - let me try & undserstand your flow here.
Are you are re-using assets or have you imported them several times under different names?
If the former, this might be the trouble.
If using the same background each time for each of thre 4 menus, what happens if you import the footage 4 times with 4 different names?
    So, instead of
movie clip.avi (is that a space I see in the filename?? more on that in a moment)
    you would use
    movie_clip_1.avi
    movie_clip_2.avi
    movie_clip_3.avi
    movie_clip_4.avi
and do the same for the audio too.
I have often had terrible trouble with another Sonic tool where the importers allow you to link the same asset multiple times, yet when you compile it all goes to hell in a handcart.
Workaround = never use the same asset more than once unless you change the name.
I would also rename each copy of the menu as well, just to be safe.
The other thing - not that this is the problem for you - is to try & avoid using spaces in a filename. Always use an underscore instead of a space.
    I hope this helps.
