Adobe Flash 10 - new version released today

Adobe today released a new version of Flash 10 - v 10.032.18. Download is available here. This update is particularly useful for Safari 3 and Safari 4. Anyone using Safari 1.3.2 via OS X Panther is advised to remain with Flash version 9. The Flash plugin is installed in HD>Library>Internet Plug-ins folder.
Because Adobe does not set the correct permissions for its Flash files (don't know why), it's important to "repair permissions" via Disk Utility in your Applications>Utilities folder after installing the plugin. Otherwise oddities such as Safari crash, freezes, or stuttering of Flash content are possible.
For anyone not familiar with permissions repair, have a look at this related Apple document.
When complete, restart Safari.

This was driving me nuts on 10.6.2 on Safari and the Developer Chrome build - I keep FireFox on the system - IT also had the same issues.
The only way I got the problem to go away on 10.6.2 (MacBook Unibody) was to:
1. Uninstall Adobe Flash with the Uninstaller here: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html
2. Once uninstaller downloads shutdown all browsers and run the Adobe Flash Uninstaller
3. Power off the system when the uninstaller is done. Be ready on Power on to clear the PRAM: Be ready to press Command + Option + P + R immediately on power on. System will go to black screen after screen powers on the first time if this is done right - then on restart you will get the Apple logo and system /Apple sound. NOTE: I didn't do this the first time and hangs still occurred!
4. On bootup reinstall Flash Player 10 or Flash Player 10.1 beta (e.g. I'm using the beta 10.1 with NO issues on any sites now: Got it from here: http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/flashplayer10.html
No issues in ANY browser or any sites now.....

    No, the Adobe installer will simply over-write the earlier version.

  • The new version release today (7.2.1) fixes the dual GPU crash.

    http://blogs.adobe.com/movingcolors/2014/03/31/speedgrade-cc-7-2-1-update/

    Dear Adobe,
    So I was waiting 4 months for a patch, what doesn't work correctly for me. I have Quadro 6000, and GTX580. (2 cards because of another application - I don't want to promote it here).
    If I play the timeline with 7.2.1 with both cards enabled, I have no realtime. If I disable GTX580 in my control panel and run the same project also with 7.2.1, it plays realtime.
    So what exactly did you patched? The startup error screen only? Who are your beta testers and what they actually do? I liked Speedgrade by IRIDAS very much but since you bought it it is unusable for me. I have never seen so many bugs in one application - just compare this discussion forum with other forums.
    My setup:
    Intel 6 core 4930K !!!!
    64GB RAM !!!!
    10TB disk RAID with 500MB/s
    Quadro 6000
    GTX 580

  • I can't download/install Adobe Flash Player update version 11.7.700.169.

    I have tried several times to download and install Adobe Flash Player update version 11.7.700.169 without success. My OS is Windows XP with SP3 and my web browser is Internet Explorer. My current Adobe Flash Player version is 11.6.602.180. In the Adobe - Install Adobe Flash Player IE window I unchecked the checkbox "Yes, install Chrome as my default browser and Google Toolbar for Internet Explorer - optional"  and clicked [UpdateNow]. Then I followed the installation instuctions. When I tried to run the installer I got an Internet Explorer Script Error dialog box.
    I then clicked yes on the Scrippt Error dialog box and it closed. The new version did not install. I still have the old version.
    What am I doing wrong?

    Download and run the offline installer(s) from http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/installation-problems-flash-player-windows.html#mai n-pars_header (under the heading Progress bar hangs...).

    Hi,

    software,
    I need help and guidance on
    Different approaches to setting variables in a Flash movie,
    what I should do in the fla file, and in the html file.
    Thanks, Gil

    Hi petro_jemes,
    Just a little claritification, you need to add the value to the variable "[string]$ou", and also change the language in the variable "$emailbody" in the function "Get-ADUserPasswordExpirationDate".
    I hope this helps.

  • Adobe Flash Player installation version for  Galaxy Pro 10.2 notebook

    Which archived version of the adobe flash player do I install for a galaxy pro 10.2 notebook?

    While archived versions of Flash Player for Android are posted, we really don't recommend installing it for regular usage.  Flash Player for Android has not been updated in years, which means it has not received any security fixes and can leave your system open to malicious apps/sites to take advantage of an older, insecure version.  Furthermore, if you have a newer version of Android, the older versions of Flash Player may not work on it.

  • Flash drive new version 11. ask for outside source to store files on pc.

    new version of flash drive adobe 11 ask for outside source. if they could file on my computer. new version came with mac a fee securty . i have a virus protection allredy . my knowlege u can not run to virus program.

    Re: McAfee - you're right. Two A/V programs is bad. Uninstall McAffee.
    Re: Storage. In order to view Flash content (videos or games), you NEED to allow a small amount of data to be stored in your temp folder, to prevent the content from constantly stopping and restarting. As always, if you have ANY reason to be suspicious of a site you're visiting, then you have reason the be suspicious of what it may want to store on your system but for the most part, Flash data is video "buffering" content and nothing more.

    Reward or thank people (or don't), as you see fit. Roaminggnome, as you can tell by his level number has been "rewarded" by lots of people. His information is generally spot on. Whether it pleases you or not, you don't get to decide who participates here and who doesn't. As long as they obey the TOU, they can stay, even if you don't like them. Ingore people who annoy you. It's what I do with people who are unable to accept help freely offered them because they don't like the packaging.
    Best of luck.

  • I already updated Adobe Flash to latest version, why can't Firefox detect it?

    Through a company IT rep, he helped to update my Adobe Flash Player already along with installing Firefox 3.6
    Now why does the firefox claim "You need to upgrade your Adobe Flash Player to watch this video" when the Flash Player was already updated to the latest (i.e. attempt to view youtube videos for testing).

    There are two different versions of Flash, the ActiveX version which is used by Internet Explorer and the Plugin version which most other browsers use, including Firefox. If both are installed, two versions Adobe Flash should appear in Add / Remove Programs in the Windows Control Panel.
    1.Download the Flash setup file from here: <br />
    [http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player.exe Adobe Flash - Plugin version]. <br />
    Save it to your Desktop.<br />
    2. Close Firefox using File > Exit <br />
    then check the Task Manager > Processes tab to make sure '''firefox.exe''' is closed, <br />
    {XP: Ctrl+Alt+Del, Vista: Shift+Ctrl+ESC = Processes tab}
    3. Then run the Flash setup file from your Desktop.
    * On Vista and Windows 7 you may need to run the plugin installer as Administrator by starting the installer via the right-click context menu if you do not get an UAC prompt to ask for permission to continue (i.e nothing seems to happen). <br />

  • Why can't you keep addons compatible with your very frequent new version releases?

    While I understand that you don't write the addons, it is very frustrating to me, that you keep releasing major version releases every few months, and the result is large numbers of incompatabilities. Why can't you make your builds more forgiving for addons? For instance I cannot use Norton Internet Security's toolbar right now - that's a pretty major addon, and I think it's on Mozilla to ensure some form of compatibility, or at the very least, have common REQUIREMENTS published, so vendors aren't left guessing every time.

    This is a fake page, do update only from official page:
    *[http://www.mozilla.org/firefox/new/]
    This page comes up when you click on a link? Open Firefox?
    Try Start in Safe Mode, sometimes this problem is caused by addons:

  • Adobe flash 14 (latest version) crashes everytime in Firefox 30.0

    I updated from Firefox 28 to Firefox 30 today. Nowhere that needs Adobe Flash will work. not Youtube or even Speakeasy. Just the dreaded "Flash plugin has crashed" notification. Everything worked in 28 and add on manager says my plugin is up to date but nothing works in 30.

    This is some standard guidance that addresses the most common reasons for Flash problems in Firefox. I'm sure you've seen some of it before, but just in case:
    (1) Make sure all recorders/downloaders that interact with Flash media are as up-to-date as possible, or disable them.
    (2) Disable hardware graphics acceleration in Flash
    See this support article from Adobe: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/video-playback-issues.html#main_Solve_video_playback_issues
    (3) Disable ''the Flash player plugin's'' protected mode (Windows Vista/7/8)
    The following pages/posts provide different ways to do that:
    * Adobe support article under the heading "Last Resort": [http://forums.adobe.com/message/4468493#TemporaryWorkaround Adobe Forums: How do I troubleshoot Flash Player's protected mode for Firefox?]

    Flash needs to completely unload from memory (restarting Firefox might help) before this would take effect.

  • I downloaded the latest version of adobe flash player 2 versions loaded and now it's very slow and the wheel keeps spinning

    My computer is running very slow, and the colored wheel keeps spinning causing pages to load slowly. I recently downloaded adobe flash player. It seems 2 versions loaded. Could this be causing the problem? How can I uninstall these programs? Thank you

    Adobe Flash Player
    Check Flash Version
    Adobe strongly recommends that you first uninstall any previous version of Flash Player, using the uninstaller:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-mac-os.html#main_1 0_4
    Follow the instructions closely, such as quitting ALL applications first before installing.  Repair permissions and restart your computer after the installation is completed.

  • How to download Adobe LiveCycle Designer new version.

    Hi,
    I'm new to this forum and new to Adobe interactive forms.
    I went through the SAP Service market by refering to the sapnote 962763 where they mention the path as shown below
    Installation Source
    You can download the Adobe LiveCycle Designer installer from SAP Service
    Marketplace:
    http://service.sap.com/installations
    Entry by Application Group
    -> SAP NetWeaver
    -> SAP NETWEAVER
    -> SAP NETWEAVER 04
    -> installation and Upgrade
    -> <Choose any OS and DB combination.>
    -> 50088654_1 NW 7.0 Presentation - Adobe LiveCycle Designer 7.1
    But I didn't got the following paths.
    So, Please guide on how to download the Adobe LiveCycle Designer new version

    There are multiple ways to get to the latest version of Adobe LiveCycle Designer 8.2.  The note you referenced should be made obsolete.
    This is the path I choose from the download center but there are different installations you could pick.
    Installations and Upgrade
         - A - Z Index -> N
         -> SAP Netweaver
                         -> SAP EHP2 for SAP Netweaver 7.0
         -> Installation
         -> AIX
         -> Oracle
         ... page down to object 51039107 - Adobe LiveCycle Designer 8.2.  It is toward the bottom.
