Adobe flash 5.5 jvm error or crash. Solutions?

Hi
i have 2 different problem with Cs5.5
first problem , when i launch flash cs5.5, several time "jvm error" occur. only opening flash , before opening fla!. So i can only close flash, close all the application, restart flash or reboot machine.
i have a I7 with 11 Gb of ram windows 7 64 pro machine. i tried to edit the AppData\Local\Adobe\Flash CS5.5\it_IT\Configuration\ActionScript 3.0\jvm.ini with more ram (768, 1024... 2048) but nothing changed.
second problem, randomly when i close compiled fla, flash cs5.5 "stops to work" with useless error reporting. where i can find error reportin log?
thanks

I put a video together to show what is happening.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4m7RBXP5IVw
The crash happens as the file is opening up. The file hangs for a
second, and then Adobe Flash 5.5 Professional crashes, and then a
crash report appears.
I tested these files on another computer with Adobe Flash 5.5
Professional. Christian Audigier vodka file,
"cavodkabottlemenurev3TEMPLATE.fla,"  displays the description text
with the "client." "project," "label type." "award," and "project
description." The text right of the headings is not appearing. The
text is supposed to be there. For the "submenu" file, the hover state
does not work over the menu items. This file was created in Adobe
Professional CS 5.5.
I created "cavokdabottlemenu3Template.fla" from a re-saved CS3 which
was from MX 2004. The "preload file is from a Lee Brimelow tutorial.
These files are crashing Adobe Flash Professional 5.5. These files are
not crashing on my laptop with Adobe Flash Professional 5.5 (on a
mac). Now, other files are starting to crash in Adobe Flash
Professional as I try to open them on my desktop computer. I am unable
to open Adobe Flash Professional 5.5 without it crashing on my desktop
computer. It is getting worst.
My desktop computer is new, and I bought it in April.
I reinstalled the software. I changed the Java preference from 64 bit
to 32 bit. I did a hardware check. I did scanned disk, permissions
under disk utility. The memory on my computer is fine. I did a
hardware check. I am frustrated. The software is not working. After 3
to 5 times opening files, the software is still crashing. Now, all of
my fla files are not opening up.
I upgraded from Adobe CS3 to Adobe CS5.5. I bought the upgrade discs
directly from Adobe.
I need help fixing Adobe Flash Professional 5.5. I will send you the files.

We have tried running uninstall_flash_player.exe to try and clean things up but this still fails.  Is there a known problem with installing Flash player ActiveX on Windows 8?  Flash player Plugin works fine just the ActiveX version which does not.
    Thanks,

I am stuck and I don't know how to remove Adobe Flash Player 10
ActiveX from my computer. Can anyone help me Much Appreciated!

We had this same problem recently and the faultbucket link pointed me in the right direction however the registry entries were different for us.
Most of our computers were fine but some had problems with Flash Plugins and some with Activex and some both.
The  best way to fix a computer or set of computers is to first uninstall  all Flash and then note all remaining Flash entries in  HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Products.
These entries can vary based on what versions got corrupted on your systems.
This  ended up being the fix for us for both Flash Plugin and ActiveX  version. We tested it and had great success as a .reg file and are now  deploying it via GPO.
(We had 4 defunct registry entries for Flash plugin and 3 for Activex)

  • MacBook Pro (OS X 10.6.8): can't update adobe flash - now Word, Chrome, etc. all crashing on startup

I am not computer savvy, so if you answer, please be slow and deliberate. thanks!
Was having Adobe shockwave/flash problems while running Chrome, which is not completely unheard of. Restarted my MacBook Pro (OS X 10.6.8), which included a software update (though I'm not sure exactly what programs were updated).
Now Chrome will not run at all. Every time I start, it crashes immediately. Have tried SEVERAL times to trash/download it, but the same version seems to keep appearing in my Applications folder. Have also tried trashing the Library/Application Support/Google/Chrome folder to no avail. Appears back in its place after dragging it to the trash.
In addition, Adobe flash videos for Safari and Firefox (which I just downloaded as a tester) also will not work. Each attempt to update Adobe Flash also ends in a crash. And now I've discovered the same for everything Microsoft (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). The program shuts down and the Microsoft error message appears breifly, followed by the same crash "Mircrosoft Word Error Reporting Quit Unexpectedly" box.
Again, have tried several times to download Chrome & Adobe Flash to no avail. All system updates have been made to date. What to do next?

Has your computer started running slowly as well?  Everything taking forever to work?
if so, this is the same type of issues I'm having.

  • Adobe flash player 11.8.800.94 crashes quite often, is there a solution?

The adobe flash player has always crashed for me on occasion, I attributed this simply to be a necessary evil.
However I recently upgraded to the new 11.8.800.94 and have noticed quite a few new quirks that are becoming quite irritating as time goes on and I was wondering if anyone has experienced these as well or know of any potential fixes.
I frequently have youtube videos open on one of my monitors and on the other a webcam chatting service, omegle and the like.
Here is where the issues begin, I will occasionally get a very noticable audio feedback in my headset. It does not happen every time I switch to speaking with someone else but it is often enough that I find it quite irritating.
The second issue I have is far more irritating however, what used to be a crash maybe once a day has become 20+ times a day.
I use Firefox and currently have ver. 22.0 of that browser, now I have not tested it on chrome or internet explorer because neither of those have the ad block capacity that I enjoy and I would prefer not to use another browser.
Has anyone else been experiencing similar problems?

I also have this sudden problem with Flash 11.8 that is crashes sometimes every some minutes on flash cam chat sites.
You should go to about:crashes in your browser and click the latest crashes and look, if you come to this kind of bug:
    https://crash-stats.mozilla.com/report/index/7ac3f843-9dd4-40c2-a861-4296c2130707
    http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=888616
It's a top crasher for flash in FF22.
Right now while writing this, I have such flash chat crash.
Going back to Flash 11.7 from the archives helped me.
But I did this mistake to update again hoping for a fix.

  • Adobe Flash Player 11.7.700.169 crashes

After installing Adobe Flash Player 11.7.77.169 Internet Explorer crashes on any page that uses flash.

@MrDanne - This is most likely a different issue that was previously reported.  I'd like to investigate but would request that you follow the steps outlined in this FAQ.
How do I report a Flash Player crash to Adobe?
If you're up for generating a crash log, you can try the following steps.
    1. Download and extract the procdump utility to your C: drive - http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/dd996900
    2. Open a command prompt and type the following in:
    c:\procdump -e 1 -f * -x c:\dumps "C:\Program Files (x86)\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe"
Please note that if IE is installed somewhere else, you'll need to alter the path.  This works for me on Windows 7 x64.
    3. That should launch IE and the command prompt will display a bit of information letting you know that procdump is monitoring the process.
    4. Cause IE to crash, then locate the .dmp file at C:\dumps.   Zip this file up and send it to [email protected] and I'll take a look to see if I can figure out what's going on.

  • Adobe Flash Media Live Encoder 3.1 crashes at launch!

    Hi there,
Accidently asked this question in the flash area--oops.  Here it is, in the correct section now.  :-)
I have used this Encoder extensively on my PC over the past couple of years and have never had any problems.  I am thinking that an update on some other device might have stealth updated on me and is now causing the Encoder to fail?  I have tried deleting and removing the software then re-installing.  I also tracked down the startup xml file I believe it was and deleted that as well.  Also have rebooted the computer multiple times and aside from throwing my laptop through a window I am lost.
    Help!

This is just a shot in the dark....
Do you have all your devices hooked up (and on) when you launch FMLE?  For example -- your camera or digitizer?  When FMLE launches it will try to launch with the last known settings... including input devices.  If it can't find these devices (they're not hooked up and on) it can crash, although in most situations it will simply show a default screen with default settings.
If you do have your equipment hooked up (and on) when you launch FMLE, try unplugging them and then launching FMLE so that it opens up in default configuration mode (no input devices selected; all default settings).  Then uncheck the "preview" boxes for both your input and output preview windows.  Close FMLE and then plug in your equipment (and turn it on) and relaunch FMLE.  I offer this suggestion as FMLE can sometimes act funny when the preview windows are open with certain types of input devices.  Don't worry -- you don't have to keep the preview windows off forever.  If you can get FMLE to successfully launch with the preview windows off, then you can set your settings however you like and save the profile.  Then quit and relaunch FMLE and then turn the preview windows back on and see if it works.  If it does, great.  Just be aware that making any settings changes while the preview windows are open could result in FMLE crashing.   Again -- this only happens with some capture devices, such as certain Dazzle capture boxes.
If none of this works, you could always try to upgrade to FMLE 3.2 and see if that solves your problem.

  • Adobe Flash player 16.0.0.235 crashes on Firefox 34.0.5, Windows 7

I recently installed Adobe Flash player 16.0.0.235 and now it always crashes wherever I try to watch a video on Firefox 34.0.5 on Windows 7. I tried all the troubleshooting advice from Firefox (checking that Flash is installed properly, checking to see that Flash isn't disabled, restoring default settings, disabling hardware acceleration, ect) and nothing has worked. Here are my last 5 crash reports:

Thanks in advance for your help!

It appears that you have multiple versions of the Flashplayer installed on Firefox. Please remove all versions of Flashplayer from your computer and install the latest version from [http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ here].

  • Adobe Flash Player, will not work. Crashes EVERYTIME.

I'm not a huge computer person, so this explanation will suck:
Okay, I have a Toshiba laptop, OS is Windows and I use Mozilla Firefox as my browser.
About 3 days ago, I opened Youtube and tried to play a video, and it said I need to update Adobe. I updated it to version 10.3.183.7.
Now videos/games/moving pictures works. It just says, "Adobe Flash Player failed.".
I've tried it on Google Chrome, and Internet Explorer, and nothing works.
I'm constantly on Youtube, but this is a huge disappointment. I've always used Adobe Flash Player, and it has always worked, but now it isn't.
Before you go and start asking/telling me very technical things, please be aware I will have not a clue what you are saying.
    Thanks for reading.

Would you mind opening a new bug on this issue over at bugbase.adobe.com?  Here's a post that describes the information we'll need and instructions for generating a crash log:

  • Adobe flash: iOS application loader error, error itms-90179 & itms-90096

    Hi,
I made ipa file via flash pro cc 2014, then uploaded using application loader which is provided from Apple. (I don't use Adobe Flash Builder.)
The application loader shows 2 errors as below.
    - I use the distribution provisioning profile, not the development provisioning profile.
    - I made 960*640 app and it's OK on my iPhone 5. (Flash automatically generates the black space on the both sides.) Should I change my resolution for iPhone 5(1136*640)? If so, how can I support iPhone 4?

I solved 90096 error by adding [email protected] file to my root folder which has the .fla file.
I also added this image to Air for iOS settings > General > included file.

  • Please fix the adobe flash player intergrity check error as soon as possible..

Earlier I did not have this problem but now when I download the adobe flash player , the adobe download manager says at 100% that the flash player did not pass the intergrity check. I tryed every possible solution but nothing is working , it seems there is something wrong with the web page that offers the flash player download.
    this is how it happens
adobe DLM starts downloading the flash player
    stucks at 2.2%
    reconnects & starts downloading
    stucks at 4.7%
    reconnects & starts downloading
then at 100% an message appears saying that the flash player did not pass the intergrity check..
if I resume the download process it goes on & repeats the same thing
or if I stop the download process then it stops but the flash player completion movie appears saying that I have install flash player version 8 ! ( pretty weird )
I hope adobe will take immediate action for this.
    Thank you.

Thanks it worked ! , but I need to know why I cant download it using adobe DLM as usual ?  because this wasn't a problem earlier about 3 weeks ago
this happened after re-installing the operative system ( but I have installed the flash player using DLM many times after re-installing the OS , therefore this was not a problem )
my OS is windows XP service pack 2
web browser - internet explorer 6
    additional information -
I installed the flash player using DLM for mozila firefox in the normal way & it worked perfectly , no errors at all.  it seems this problem arises only for internet explorer. I even tryed the installation after upgrading IE 6 to IE 8 , but the problem is still there
anyway thank you very much for the alternative download link.

  • Getting "the application install adobe flash player quit unexpectedly' error message when trying to

When trying to install flash player update on my mac running osx 10.5.8.   I get error message "the application install adobe flash player quit unexpectedly"  I've tried uninstalling the application and restarting my computer. But when I click the install icon  it quits unexceptionally every time.
    Please help!

    Hello,
Flash Player is no longer supported on OS X 10.5.8.  The last version to support OS X 10.5.8 is Flash Player 10.3.  Flash Player 10.3 is available for download from this page: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/archived-flash-player-versions.html.

  • Adobe Flash Player (general installation error)

Anyone that can't update or install the latest Adobe Flash Player have this problem/error and know how to solve it?
                                                                                                                                                                                 Thanks for your response!

I rebooted a million times did nothing. Turns out I found out the easiest way is to go to Activity Monitor look for Dock and quit the dock then try installing. This method seems so be the easiest and working for everyone.

  • Adobe Flash Player 12 installation error

I cannot install Adobe Flash Player 12. I go through all of the setting and just when I think it's about to finish I get the "General Installation Error" message.
I've trashed all the Flash Player folders in my library but it hasn't helped. Any suggestions?

    Hi,
I am having the same issue.
This link is probably more useful though not in my case.
    http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/installation-problems-flash-player-mac.ht ml
I too get the General Installation error and have followed the advice on the Adobe website.
"Close all browsers if an error message appears."
I have closed all browsers (force quit) but still get the "General Installation Error", interesting I also get update Garmin communicator.
I have 18GB free on my drive.
Any ideas what would cause the Mac Installation packages to fail?
