Adobe flash crashes in Firefox but not with Internet Explorer

I don't wish to go back to an earlier version of Adobe flash as the earlier version caused other problems.i.e. with RealPlayer. Why is it that the latest Adobe flash works perfectly with Internet Explorer but will not work with Firefox.
Is there any way I can get it to work with Firefox, rather than when the problem occurs having to download IE and start again?

Can't post pics on forum with firefox but can with Internet explorer

I can't post pictures/images on a certain forum when using firefox but when using Internet explorer on the same forum it works. Any solutions please?

Hi Meghraj, Thank you for your reply! I am afraid a screenshot will not reveal much. When I click on "add file" on the forum to post a pic it opens my files and once I select my file that I want to post and click on "open" it goes back to the forum page but the file is not there. When I do this same action with Internet explorer it works. But I don't really use internet explorer and would like to use firefox rather. A few members on the forum using firefox have the exact same problem. Any ideas? Thank you! :)

.... the applet only works with firefox and not in Internet Explorer. Even with a new certificate, IE does not ask me whether I trust the applet or not. Only a blank screen with a red cross..
In spite of having configured "show Java console", the Java console is NOT opened in the task bar, so I cannot add further log messages....

When I see "it doesn't work in IE" I always have to ask: Windows 7? 64 bits system? Are you sure you are running this in the 64 bits internet explorer? The default IE is the 32 bits version, so if you don't have a 32 bits Java runtime installed applets are not going to work at all, signed or otherwise.

while in firefox 6.0 i cannot open pdf files with adobe reader x. how do configure firefox correctly as i have no problem with internet explorer opening pdf files? os is win7 ultimate.

Youtube not running in firefox, but works with internet explorer

If you have security software (antivirus, firewall etc.) installed, you can try deleting all existing instances of Firefox and its related files in all the different configuration areas/modules of the security software. Flash player work with Safari, but not with Internet Explorer

My flash player had a problem so I uninstalled it. I had a problem downloading the player with Internet Explorer, so I successfully download it with Safari. The player works fine with Safari, but I cannot get it to work with Internet Explorer 8.
I used to have the Flash Player 10 Active X (10.1.85.3), which I had uninstalled.
I now have the Flash Player 10 Plugin (10.1.85/3)
The problem I had downloading the player with IE was that the "allow Active X" information bar never appeared and I was unable to see any download at all.
How do I get flash to work with my Internet Explorer 8 (8.0.7600.16385)?

This adobe web site worked easily for me, when I needed to install adobe flash JUST for IE8.

All you need to do is choose your OS in the top window, then in the bottom window choose "Adobe Flash Player 10.1 for Windows Internet Explorer", and voila, that is what adobe installs!! Give it a go. I had problems too, before I foud this. Diligent

Website won't open on firefox but will with internet explorer

Firefox tells me that the Foxnews website page can't be found.
I can open it in with internet explorer.
Is this a political thing because it just started a few days ago and doesn't affect any other site?

When trying to install adobe plugin, it fails, as does trying to do it manually. When trying manually, it says to close firefox then it will work but it doesn't. Again, when under IE, adobe flash works but I prefer Firefox.

In step one you would have downloaded that file, if Firefox is using the normal configurations you should find it in the same location where you download any other files.
To find out where Firefox downloads files, in the options window go to the general panel and it should show where files are downloaded to. Alternatively if Firefox stores the history of downloaded files, open the downloads window (you can do that by using keyboard shortcut Control+J), right-click on the install_flash_player.exe entry in the download window and select "Open containing folder"

Visa security verification fails with Firefox, but ok with Internet Explorer.

When I use either Visa or Mastercard for online shopping on Firefox, when I submit the security verification (Verified by Visa) the screen freezes. I tested it by using the wrong security info and I got a response to say that it was wrong, but when I entered the correct info, it froze. I have tried different cards, as has my wife, and the same happens. Fortunately the payment doesn't go through.
There is no problem when we use Internet Explorer or on sites where verification is not requested.

Can't navigate the Ryanair website with Firefox but can with Internet Explore

My IP is Sky.com. Their website is not displaying correctly because the search box does not move to the left and anything typed into it redicts back to the home page. Also the ryanair website displays but does not allow one to navigate the whole website. None of these errors occur when using Internet Explorer. This problem only occured today.

You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:
Reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.

You can remove all data stored in Firefox from a specific domain via "Forget About This Site" in the right-click context menu of an history entry ("History > Show All History" or "View > Sidebar > History") or via the about:permissions page.
Using "Forget About This Site" will remove all data stored in Firefox from that domain like bookmarks, cookies, passwords, cache, history, and exceptions, so be cautious and if you have a password or other data from that domain that you do not want to lose then make sure to backup this data or make a note.
You can't recover from this 'forget' unless you have a backup of the involved files.

I tried to download an e-filing client software from the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) website [http://www.wipo.int/pct-safe/en/download/download_client.htm] using Firefox. Clicking the link to download yielded no activity. I eventually tried the same link in internet explorer and it worked. This occurred last week. I have a deadline to complete an international patent filing today; and in order to do so online, I had to request a Secure Digital ID from WIPO. It was approved and received early this morning (Central European Time Zone); and the accompanying guidelines suggested that I use the same computer and browser to retrieve the ID. This meant that since I use Firefox as my default browser my request was also made and had to be retrieved in Firefox. Following the WIPO support instructions I ran into exactly the same problem of inactivity when trying to "Backup" my newly installed ID certificate per WIPO instruction, so that it may be imported into the e-filing software. Please help as soon as you can as my patent deadline is merely hours away. Please also see a response from the WIPO helpdesk below:

Just to follow up on my findings. My last issue regarding the digital certificate was not at the time of initial download into Firefox, but my application required that I backup the certificate into a folder which can then be accessed to sign a submission generated by a third-party Client software.
After finally steering away from the digital signing route by opting for a non digital filing of my project, I later revisited the Firefox certificates list only to find that the 'Backup' button still didn't work or respond in any way whatsoever; however since I only had a single certificate on my list... I threw my hand up in the air and tried the 'Backup All' button... guess what - that worked!! My browser then navigated to a file browser which allowed me to save the certificate to a folder of my choice. Of course this was after the fact as my deadline had already passed and and I had the Administrator who initially granted my secure ID revoke it once I was blocked from downloading it by Firefox.
Just an update/FYI for y'all... But I'm not sure if this type of anomoly is due to a glitch on my computer or a glitch on the browser - but it certainly did catch me off-guard during a deadline.
