Hello there!
I have been reading some blogs, forums, etc. to try to figure out how to make flash work on my mac. So far, I have not succeded. I just purchased Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 Web Premium mainly to use Flash... but I can't use it. What can I do?

Do you receive an error message when trying to install or when you try to open the software?

Maybe Flash 11 is too big and you need to stay on Flash 10.3

  • Why an imported SWF created in Flash CS5 doesn't works fine?

perhaps I am not lucky. I find no answer.. perhaps im a noob (daaaah)  please if you can help it would be appreciated!
I'm new in flash and flash catalyst.. but i'm not bad at all hehe. After publishing a swf from flash CS5 (that works perfect when i preview it) i want to import it in flash catalyst...
... i click on import swf and i select my swf. When i execute the project (CTRL+ENTER) in flash catalyst the motion tweens created in Adobe Flash doesn't start
Even if it works well when i run the SWF from desktop or in Adobe Flash directly

A detail that could help you guys..
I used FlashEFF2 in Adobe Flash CS5 (as a Text Effect (it's awesome)) and this effect only starts and works fine in Flash Catalyst. The motions tweens created in Adobe Flash CS5 doesn't starts in Flash Catalyst
    Thanks to read it!

What does the Adobe test page say?
    http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
See [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] and [[Troubleshooting plugins]]
If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the ''Safe mode'' start window.
You have to close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (on Mac: "Firefox > Quit")

  • Ever since upgrading to Mavericks, Adobe Flash Player doesn't work.

I upgraded from Snow Leopard to Mavericks recently and since then, sites do not recognize that I have Adobe Flash Player installed at all. I currently have the most updated version: "Plug-in version 11.9.900.170 is installed." I noticed this when family and friends sent me e-cards. I go to the sites to view them and it tells me I need to download Adobe Flash Player.
I have uninstalled it twice and downloaded it twice. Installation is always successful and complete but when I test it to view an e-card sent to me from a reliable site, it still states that I need to install it to view the card. I HAVE IT!! lol  I don't understand why the sites are not recognizing it on my computer.
I've tested it out on both Safari and Firefox and it doesn't work on either. Safari is 7.0.1 (current).
Can anyone help me fix this? Troubleshooting on Adobe Flash Player basically tells me to uninstall and re-install. Still doesn't help. ~sigh~
Thanks in advance for any help!

If you're sure you've installed the latest version of Flash, take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. After each step, relaunch Safari and test. For a "missing plug-in" error, start with Step 5.
    Step 1
If you're only having trouble with YouTube videos, sign in to your YouTube account and load this page. You may see a link with the text "Leave the HTML5 Trial." If so, click that link.
    Step 2
If you're getting a "blocked plug-in" error, then from the menu bar select
     ▹ System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced
and click Check Now. Quit and relaunch your browser.
    Step 3
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    /Library/Internet Plug-Ins
Right-click or control-click the highlighted text and select
    Services ▹ Open
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open. Delete the following item, or anything with a similar name, if present:
    Flash Player (failing).plugin
You may be prompted for your login password.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combinationcommand-C. In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar, paste into the box that opens (command-V). You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.
    Step 4
Re-download and reinstall Flash. Download it from the domain "get.adobe.com". Don't click a link from any other website, including this one, because you can't trust links. They may be an attempt to trick you into installing malware masquerading as Flash. Type the address into the browser window. Never download a Flash update from anywhere else.
    Step 5
If you get a "missing plug-in" error, select
    Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Security
from the Safari menu bar and check the box marked
    Allow (or Enable) plug-ins
    Then click the button marked
    Manage Website Settings...
if present and make sure that the website is not blocked for Flash.
    Step 6
    Select
    Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Extensions
from the Safari menu bar. If any extensions are installed, disable them.
    Step 7
In the Safari preference window, select
Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data
    Close the window. Then select
     ▹ System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced
and click Delete All. Close the preference pane.

  • "Adobe Flash CS5 has stopped working" error anytime i do anything - HELP PLZ!

    Hi there,
I have used Macromedia Flash MX for many, many moons. Finally, when I got Windows 7, I was VERY excited to get updated on MX and move to Adobe Flash Professional CS5. However, i have never once been able to use this program, as it crashes pretty much every time i try to do anything. However, since my upgrade, i've noticed a lot more crashing in MX as well (i still have it installed on my old HD and have been using it to build videos rather than CS5 since it crashes less frequently). Now, i'm at my wit's end. I get the above error message when i do pretty much anything, but most recently it's EVERY time i try to select all unused files from the library. The error message i get in MX is "Flash 6.0 r25 has stopped working," but it's the same exact problem in the problem signature as CS5's:
    Problem signature:
      Problem Event Name:    APPCRASH
      Application Name:    Flash.exe
      Application Version:    11.0.0.485

If i try to select "Check online for a solution," in MX it just kills out of the program, but in CS5 it gives me a second error before killing out:
    Problem signature:
      Problem Event Name:    APPCRASH
      Application Name:    Flash.exe
      Application Version:    11.0.0.485

PLEASE tell me there's a way to fix this. I've tried everything I can think of and have to get this video done in the next few days!!!! I would love to be able to start using CS5 and ditch the ancient MX on my slaved drive, but I can't get CS5 to work!
    Thanks.

    3. (Windows) Disable Compatibility Mode.
For information on compatibility mode, see Using Windows 7 or Vista compatibility mode.
Windows Compatibility Mode can cause errors to occur with Adobe Creative Suite products. To disable it, do the following:
    Navigate to C:\Program Files\Adobe\[application name].
Right-click the product application file and choose Properties.
In the Compatibility tab, deselect all options under Compatibility Mode, Settings, and Privilege Level.
Click OK, and relaunch the Adobe Creative Suite 5 product.
    4. Disable startup items and services.
Applications running in the background can prevent Creative Suite 5, CS5.5, and CS6 products from launching. For instructions on temporarily disabling these items, see the following documents:
Disable startup items and Services (Windows XP)
Restart Windows in a modified mode (Windows 7 and Windows Vista)
Start the system in Safe Boot mode (Mac OS)
    5. Log in using a new local administrative user account.
A new local administrative account can rule out network policies, corrupt profiles, and incorrectly setup administrative accounts as the cause of a failed launch. To create a local administrator account, see the following:
Windows XP: Choose Start > Help And Support and see the article "Add a new user to the computer," or contact your system administrator.
Windows Vista/Windows 7: Create new local administrator account (Windows Vista) (kb404912)
Mac OS: Creating and modifying user accounts on the Apple support website. This video demonstrates the procedure to create a Standard user account. To create an Administrator account, select Administrator in the New Accounts menu.
    6. Delete all Adobefnt*.lst files
Search for and delete all copies of the AdobeFnt*.lst file that you find on the hard disk:
(Mac OS) In the Finder, choose File > Find (Command + F).
(Windows XP) In Explorer, click the Search button (Ctrl+F).
(Windows Vista/7) In Explorer, use the search box in the upper right (Ctrl+F).
Type Adobefnt*.lst and then click the Search icon. If you have more than one hard drive, only search the system (OS) drive.
(Windows XP Search Assistant) Choose All Files and Folders. Under More advanced options select Search System Folders, Search hidden files and folders, and Search subfolders.
Click within the search results. Choose Edit > Select All, and then drag the selected files to the Trash (Mac OS) or Recycle Bin (Windows).
(Mac OS) Choose Finder > Empty Trash.
    Restart the application.
If an Adobefnt*.lst file becomes damaged, it can cause the application to crash, freeze, or quit when you try to start it. Adobefnt.lst files (for example, Adobefnt10.list for InDesign) are font cache files that Adobe applications use to quickly gather and store information about available fonts. If you delete or rename an Adobefnt.lst file, the application re-creates it the next time you start the application.
    7. Troubleshoot font issues.
Remove or disable nonessential fonts and then restart your Creative Suite application. See:
Reduce the number of active fonts (Windows XP)
Reduce the number of active fonts (Windows 7 and Windows Vista)
    Troubleshoot fonts (Mac OS)
    8. (Windows) Update your video card driver.
Download the latest driver from your video card manufacturer's website or contact the manufacturer for an updated driver.
    9. Search the knowledgebase for errors.
Search the Adobe knowledgebase for any errors that appear:
Go to the Adobe Support website and choose your product from the Select Product Support Center menu.
Type the error into the search field and click Search.
Note: Omit file paths and registry keys from the search string.
    10. Run the Adobe Support Advisor.
The Adobe Support Advisor is an AIR app that helps identify and resolve installation issues. It can also assist with errors that occur when AMT is running. For more information, see Using the Adobe Support Advisor (kb405816) and Troubleshoot launch errors using Creative Suite launch logs (cpsid_83478).
    11. Perform system troubleshooting steps
Follow the steps in Troubleshoot system errors and freezes | Adobe software on Windows (cpsid_82252) or Troubleshoot system errors and freezes | Adobe software on Mac OS (cpsid_82414).

  • My adobe flash player doesn't work when i download it?

my adobe flash player doesnt work when i download it? onky brought laptop a week ago, brand new!

Adobe Flash Player updates available for OS X on February 4, 2014 - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5655 - "Adobe Flash Player is out of date"
Make sure you follow the directions.  Simply downloading files from Adobe doesn't actually install them on your computer.
Flashplayer is third party software, not Apple's.  Don't expect it to be on a new computer.

  • Adobe Flash 'downloaded', doesn't work.

Have LITERALLY tried and 'successfully' downloaded adobe flash more than 20 times now.
It says it's worked, but then when it comes to using it, it doesn't work.
    Need this for uni studies.
Can't ring Adobe as can't find contact details.
It says it's worked, but then obviously hasn't.
If this is necessary deets, I have Windows 7.
It worked FINE yesterday morning... or it might have been Monday... but then that same afternoon, it's gone all effed up on me!

You downloaded it, but did you also install it?

    Goodday,
I was unable to attend an on-line seminar due to Adobe Flash Player. The system is an iCore 7, running Windows 8.1 and the browser is Internet Explorer 11.1. I did follow the correcting on-line instructions and ended back where I started and without Flash Player.

  • Adobe Flash 11 doesn't work on Firefox 11

I always used Firefox 11 without problems due to plugins (just my crappy hardware), but when I updated to newer version of Flash Player, nothing worked anymore on Firefox, but in Chrome everything goes perfect. I've also tried to reinstall the plugin, the stable and also the beta version, using Flash-Aid but nothing worked. Is there another solution to fix this issue?
    Thanks from Italy!

You may have downloaded the incorrect version, as there is one version for Firfox & another for all other browsers. In any case the following references how to test, manage, update, and verify flash & associated plugin.
    Update Flash:
The latest version of the Flash plugin should perform better and crash less often. To check if Flash is up to date, visit Mozilla's '''Plugin Check '''page. If it says that Flash needs to be updated, install the latest version manually using the steps below.
    1. Go to the Flash Player download page at [Adobe.com] and download the Flash installer.
    2. When prompted, save the file (i.e.install_flash_player_"version"_linux."processor".tar.gz).
    3. At the top of the Firefox window, click on the File menu and select Quit.
    4. Open a Terminal window (in Gnome, click on the Applications menu, select Accessories, and then select Terminal.)
4.In the Terminal window, change to the directory where you saved the file you downloaded (e.g. cd /home/user/Downloads).
    5. Extract libflashplayer.so from the file you downloaded with the command tar -zxvf install_flash_player_"version"_linux."processor".tar.gz.
    6. As the super user, copy the extracted file, libflashplayer.so, to your Firefox installation directory's plugins sub-directory. For example, if Firefox is installed in /usr/lib/mozilla, use the command sudo cp libflashplayer.so /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins and then enter your super user password when prompted.

  • Adobe Flash Player Will Not Work with Safari Mac OS 10.9.2

I have tried numerous times to install Adobe Flash Player for Mac OS 10.9 and get Plug-in error when I try to run it.  Before the suggested update, Flash Player ran fine.  I would not have tried the update except the files on the web site that I am usinf had a symnbol statiing that the later version of Flash Player was required for it to run.
I did what Adobe suggested and removed the plug-in and then reinstalled it. Still does not work.  When is Adobe going to fix it?   I think it was not well researched before the release, and it definately has compatibility issues with Mac OS 10.9 Mavericks
    Thanks,

Thanks for the quick response.  It worked OK after I did this, and I alerted other users in my MUG just in case they have a similar aged Macs.  I hope that the fix for this will be automatic in the next update.
