Adobe Flash in Windows 7 IE9 (p.s.)

To clarify, the Adobe icon is on my Computer's System and Security page.  (Hewitt Packer, HP P7-1210  Control panel, System and Security)

Sorry for the confusion.  When i go to my computer control panel, system and security, at the bottom of the list of other system and security settings options, Adobe Flash icon has been added.  I understand now that it is so that I can set Adobe Flash security options (thanks Carl).  I guess my complaint with Adobe Flash is that it doesn't function with my ie 9 activeX filter.  I still haven't spent a lot of time studying the flash player settings manager ... been kind-a busy lately.  If I have a breakthrough, I'll let others know.

How to Force enable updates, silently for Adobe flash in windows 8 using group policy?
    I have followed this Article:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/administration-configure-auto-update-notification.h tml
    http://gpyall.com/archives/disable-adobe-flash-updates-on-64-bit-windows-with-group-policy /
This looks promising but not working.
Also, I cannot even manually create a file, in Win 8  (C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash)
So how would group policy can put mms.cfg in this location with following vaule:
    AutoUpdateDisable=0
    SilentAutoUpdateEnable=1
    Thanks in Advance.

  • Google chrome will not run Adobe flash in windows 8 mode now, why?

My windows 8 dell laptop can use Google Chrome in desktop mode and windows 8 app mode, Google Chrome Version 29.0.1547.66 m. I was using adobe flash in windows 8 mode when al of the sudden it told me that flash could only be used in desktop mode and kicked me into desktoop mode. I have adobe flash version11,8,800,97 installed. please help I would really like to know if there is something wrong.

I have the same problem.  I was using Google Chrome without any problems until two days ago, when suddenly a bar started popping up accross the top of the page saying "Adobe Flash Player only works on the desktop" and give me the options "Relaunch Chrome" or "Don't ask again."  It can be very frustrating to have to relaunch chrome, especially if you're in the middle of streaming, or downloading, or halfway through something extremely long (and usually boring in my line of work) and it starts you back at the beginning because you have to relaunch.  Is there anyway to make Adobe work in the Windows 8 mode again and not just on the desktop?  I have Adobe Flash Player version 11,8,800,97 and Google Chrome version 29.0.1547.66 m.  Thanks.

  • Frequent Fails when installing Adobe Flash Player (Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows 8.0, and Windows 8.1)

Constantly see the following error message from Adobe Flash Player Installer:
Error has been encountered. Close this window and try downloading again.
What in heck does that error message mean?
This message occurs most of the time when I try to update to the latest version of Adobe Flash Player.
It would be one thing if it was only occurring on Windows XP, but it shows up on Windows 7, Windows 8.0, and Windows 8.1 frequently.
Just for curiousity looked at the Windows 8.1 Event Viewer and NO error message shows up there.
    Would be nice to:
    (1) know what the error really is so that it can be reported to you to get it fixed once and for all.
    (2) have Adobe Flash Installer NOT to delete itself every time that the installer is run.
    (3) have an OFFLINE download installer to download and install Adobe Flash Player without the MacAfee installer.
    (4) have Adobe UNCHECK that the Install MacAfee installer that you have to opt out of each time you do an Adobe Flash Player download. You should make it to OPT IN not OPT OUT! Don't need another program installed without my permission. This causes issues when I have to uninstall MacAfee on computers that others in my family use.
It seems to takes up to 20 times to download the Adobe installer over a period of many days or weeks to get it to install properly.
I have written software for over 36 years as a computer programmer and now Senior Software Developer. I have do installers on my own and have to figure out how to solve my own issues on the installers to get them fixed.
This issue doesn't seem to be tied to any particular version of Windows... Same issue occurs on Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows 8.0, and Windows 8.1! The ONLY commonality seems to be Adobe Flash Player.
Certainly Adobe should be smart enough to fix this issue once and for all.
If the issue is that there is a network congestion error that it cannot download the installer, please say so and please please please DO NOT delete the downloaded installer every time that it is run on a PC.
I'd like to fix the security issues with the Adobe Flash Player AS SOON as there is a patch for it. I don't like having security issues over a long period of time.
Please address this issue so that I can put this to bed and not have to keep sending you messages that once again the Adobe Flash Player Installer is yet again broken!
Certainly you have a staff at Adobe that CAN fix this problem quickly!

more information about errors can be found in the FlashInstall.log file in C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash (and the SysWOW64 equivalent on 64-bit systems)
the offline installers (below) do not delete themselves
you can find the offline installers
Flash Player for ActiveX (Internet Explorer)
Flash Player Plug-in (All other browsers)
the offline installers are not bundled with any 3rd-party crapware

  • How do I install adobe flash to windows 2000 os?

    Please help!
I accidentally deleted flash from my computer. Since I am running windows 2000 pro, I cannot install the latest version.
My question is how do I find and install a version of Adobe Flash that is compatible with Windows 2000?

  • Adobe Flash for Windows 8

Any idea if/when Adobe Flash ActiveX updates for Windows 8 Clients, acquired from Adobe for Enterprise deployment; will no longer be required, since Flash will be integrated into Internet Explorer?
I'm assuming at some point, any updates may somehow (collaboration between Adobe and MS??) be coming directly from Microsoft (which may then eliminate the need for SCUP)??

Adobe still writes the code for Flash Player ActiveX for IE in WIn 8 & 8.1. Like with Google Chrome, they "hand it off" to Microsoft, for modification and embedding. I seriously doubt Adobe will ever turn over all development and updating to the boys in Redmond.

  • Adobe Flash on Windows 7 Laptop

So i am trying to use the Pandora website as well as some others, but it keeps saying i need flash player. I go to the adobe site and i installed the newest one and it said successfully installed. But when i (even after restarting my computer) try to use Pandora again it says i need to have flash player.
I tried to do the plugin check for Firefox but it just kept loading during the check. Also I looked in my add-on page, and I do not see adobe flash, or shockwave of any sort.
    Please help!

    Hello,
There are different versions of Flash Player for different browsers.  Please Installation problems | Flash Player | Windows and download/install the versions for the various browsers you use.  The downloads are listed at the bottom of the page in the 'Still having problems' section.
If you encounter problems during the installation, please uninstall, using the uninstaller posted here Uninstall Flash Player | Windows, restart the machine and try the installation again.

  • Error DW030 - Can't install Adobe Flash Builder Windows 7 32 bits

    Hey everyone!
Could someone help me with this error?
    Here is the log:
Exit Code: 6 Please see specific errors below for troubleshooting. For example,  ERROR: DW030 ...   -------------------------------------- Summary --------------------------------------  - 0 fatal error(s), 1 error(s)    ----------- Payload: Adobe Flash Builder 4.7 4.7.0.0 {8376E54D-7232-4443-A075-7938ABA2DB1A} -----------  ERROR: DW030: Custom Action for payload Adobe Flash Builder 4.7 4.7.0.0 {8376E54D-7232-4443-A075-7938ABA2DB1A} returned error. Failing this payload.  -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now managed to get Flash Builder installed. Turns out it was my computer user name that caused the problem. I had a special character in my name ( the special character was ' ). I set up another user account without any special characters and installed Flash Builder using that user account and it installed without any problems.Hope this info helps.

  • I still am not 100% operation from a crash I think due to those ADOBE FLASH PLAYER windows that pop up if I view videos at sites like youtube. How do I eliminate those more permanently? Please help if you are able? Thanks

I am led to think that those Adobe flash player popup boxes are big trouble? I would like to know how I can eliminate those from my computer, they block my view right in the center of my screen.
Please help me through? Thanks David Breaux

Hi, I understand. I think they were an older person not so familiar with computers and I was doing my best trying to get them to start their own thread. They have done that, so you shouldn't have any more posts to yours.
    Thanks,

  • Adobe Flash for Windows x64

Is their a genuine reason why this still isn't out.  I got thinking that if this was a Microsoft product Flash x64 would be out not long after Windows XP 64 bit came out but no years later we're still waiting on Adobe. I'm sure I can't be the only one to be a little P'd at having to use 32bit browsers either.
Also well done on getting a Linux version out, I'm sure the handful amount of Linux geeks will be happy!

  • Green screen Adobe Flash Videos, Windows 8.1, I have tried everything

It's a very annoying problem and i have read many forums to solve it but nothing.
    I tried:
    Disable Hardware acceleration
I disabled plug-ins because you have 2 flash plugins on chrome and they would conflict
I updated Adobe, Graphic drivers and Java.
I have tried other browser same problem

It's most likely a driver bug.  Win8.1 is fairly new, and it will take some time for the drivers to fully mature.  It would be helpful to know whether you're seeing these issues only in Chrome, or do you see the same problems in IE and Firefox?
Also, just to confirm, when you disabled Hardware Acceleration, did you do so by right-clicking Flash content, going to Settings, and unchecking Use Hardware Acceleration from the left-most tab, or did you do it by going to the Chrome menu bar > Settings > Advanced > System > Use Hardware Acceleration when available?
The following additional information would help us reproduce the issue and either fix it or escalate it to Nvidia:
1.) The output of the DirectX Diagnostic Tool.  Launch a command prompt and type 'dxdiag'.  Just choose save all information and paste the output, or a link to pastebin, etc.
2.) A direct link to a couple videos that demonstrate the problem.
    Thanks!
