Adobe flash issues with both IE6 and Firefox

I just installed adobe flash 9 on my win2k computer. When I
try to go to www.yourminis.com I get two different results, in IE6
I start to get a web page, but then IE freezes. In Firefox, I get a
big blue quicktime Q the blinks a bit, then a question mark
superimposes over the Q and nothing else happens.
I also cannot view this page under Firefox in Freespire
Linux, but there, it tells me I don't have a new enough version of
Flash Player, but I downloaded and installed the newest version
available for Linux, and I tried both the normal automatic install
and the manual install (which was a pain in the butt because
Freespire has no admin log in, and you have to do all your copying
of files from a command line using the sudo command...)
Why is this happening? I even have an issue with flash and
the yahoo home page, in IE6 it works fine, but in Firefox, where
you normally see the yahoo logo at the top of the page, instead you
see the big blue Quicktime Q and then the question mark, and the
yahoo logo never comes up (this isn't a big issue, I don't need to
see the animated yahoo logo, but since Firefox is doing the same
thing on www.yourminis as it is with the Yahoo logo animation, I
thought it might be significant)
I even disabled ALL file types in Quicktime's settings except
Quicktime Movies format, because QT won';t LET me disable that one.
Still having the same problems.
Oh, and all this is happening under Administrative User, with
full priveledges in Win2k, so don't tell me I need to be admin or
something like that.

Issues with both iChat and AIM

Recently I have been having issues with both iChat and AIM. I was hoping someone here could shed some light on what the problem may be.
AIM allows me to log-in and chat with people. However, if I close an IM window or Buddy Info window, the AIM program will quit and the "Unexpectedly Quit" notice will pop up.
In regards to iChat, I did a clean install of iChat using the Tiger install disk. However, when I launch iChat and go through the initial setup it freezes up and I get the spinning rainbow and have no choice but to do a force quit.
Any ideas as to what the problem may be?

Seeing you re-installed iChat you will need to run the 10.4.10combo http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/apple/macosx_updates/macosx10410comboupdat eppc.html to bring iChat back upto date.

Please I have tested this on fedora 17, Ubuntu 12.04 LTS and on sepaprate PCs (win 7). With Chrome, IE 9, Firefox all update and Adobe flash is updated too

Hi, Go to this Adobe test site and you should be able to see the Flash Player logo animate and your FP version will be listed also. The latest is 10.1.85.3. Test with Firefox and also with Safari.

The Shockwave Flash plugin works thru the browser and is Installed there, so when you view any Flash content or videos, etc. you are able to. That test site should tell you if Flash Player is working.

I have trouble running flash player on both IE and firefox

Whenever Adobe realeses a new version of Adobe Flash Player I have difficulties. I wonder why they keep releasing new versions!
I can have adobe flash player installed and working on either Firefox or IE. If one of them has it installed when I try downloading and installing it on the other browser I get the message that either I have a newer version already installed or that it's the old version although I uninstall before reinstalling!
Please help me!

I don't know why you are having these problems. Try
download the uninstaller from http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-windows.html and save it to disk;
download the offline installers from http://helpx.adobe.com/content/help/en/flash-player/kb/installation-problems-flash-player- windows.html#main-pars_header and save them to disk;
close all browser windows, then run the downloaded uninstaller, followed by the installers.

Adobe form: Issue with BACK, CANCEL and EXIT buttons

I am new to Adobe forms. I created a simple demo Adobe form and was able to print it successfully except a strange problem.
Whenever I opt for print preview it shows me a blank page. On pressing enter it shows me the form, But now none of the BACK, EXIT, CANCEL buttons work. On pressing any of them I keep getting the print form.
So the only way I can come out of it is /n.
Can anyone please help with the reason for such an issue and how to get rid of it.

Adobe Flash issues with camera

I use several web site video chats usually. Since installing Lion the Flash permissions screens are totally non-responsive. I am even unable to clear out of them by selecting Deny. Totally non-functional. Tried to download a newer version of Flash but the Adobe site said my Chrome has the latest. So not only does LIon NOT do all that was promised but it screws up what we had before with SL. Nice job Apple. Did anyone beta test this crap?

Issues with .pdf files and Firefox Android Beta

I read the local paper online and the individual pages present themselves as .pdf files. With the Firefox for Android NON beta clicking on said file downloadable ads it and automatically calls up the default .pdf reader which opens the page. Some recent change in the Beta version simply downloads the file. I then have to manually click to open. Tried clearing defaults on both Firefox and the Kindle app, force stopping both, all to no avail.....suggestions?

the change was made in firefox 25 - that's why you're currently seeing this behaviour only in firefox beta. the general release for firefox 25 is scheduled for next week. i originally also thought to recommend the pdf.js-addon as an alternative but i found it to be very slow on my android too. unfortunately i don't know of any other solution currently.

MBP running hot, full fans and sluggish with both Safari and Firefox

Hi guya,
Im having problems with my kate 2007 MBP.
Im sure lately it seems to be running slower and slower and more and more sluggish - I was hoping my Mac wouldn't be subject to "slowdown" like every PC ive ever owned has.
The biggest problem is that if i use either Safari or Firefox to browse the web, they quickly start using 80-100% of my processor causing everything else to run sluggish, the computer to get hot, processors to run up to 90 degrees and fans on full.
Perhaps i multitask more than some people - I can tend ot have a lot of tabs open in Firefox, but sometimes Safari or Firefox show this behaviour with just one tab open.
I do multitask by having about 8 programs open at once and I jump from job to job, but in its early life the MBP used to deal with this - now i feel that i type faster than writing appears on screen, i have to wait ages to work in programs like indesign, and forget trying to run a game like The Sims...
Does everyone else have the 100% processor problems with Safari (and yes im on version 4, and the latest version of firefox too) the only browser which doesn't give me these problems is Opera - I can have many tabs open and it uses very little CPU, I just dont like use Opera as much as Firefox which is my browser of choice.
But why would my OSX run differently to anyone elses? Is there a problem with my Macbook, is there a problem with OSX (does it need installing again?) Is it just time for me to buy a new Macbook Pro - or if I run firefox on that will i get the same problem? Ive got nearly 30gb of spare HD space and maxed it out with 4gb of Ram - so neither of those are causing a problem either...
Any input would be great...

Have you tried restarting the comp? Sometimes a simple refresh will cure the sluggishness.
Try running repair permissions from your HD and afterwards run +repair disk+ from your software install DVD.
Regarding your comp running hot, make sure it is properly ventilated while in use. The MBP is not a laptop. According to the user manual it states in part:
+"Do not operate your MacBook Pro on a pillow or other soft material, as the material can block the airflow vents. Never place anything over the keyboard when operating your MacBook Pro. Never push objects into the ventilation openings."+

Issues with both Ethernet and Wireless netowrks

I have recently installed Arch on one of my desktops after having messed around with it in virtual box for awhile. While things went really smoothly in Virtual box with the set up i am having issues getting any wireless networks to work on the desktop machine. Any tips or ideas on how to get them to work? I've already looked in the network sections on the forums but nothing there has really helped me yet. Any ideas would be helpful.

Do you remember which text editor you chose during the installation process? I will assume you chose "nano" which is the easiest to use.
Type this as root:
nano /etc/rc.conf
Then find the line in the network sections that looks like this:
interface=eth0
address=
netmask=
broadcast=
gateway=
If the line "interface=" doesn't have the "eth0" part, add it then reboot the machine. Once you've rebooted trying running this command:
ping www.google.ca
If you get a bunch of lines about response time and whatnot, it means you are connected. Press Ctrl+c to make it stop.
EDIT: Just saw your post.
Make sure that you aren't looking at the examples that are commented out. If you are using DHCP you should just need what I've posted above.

I tried copying a photo and pasting it in another event/group within iPhoto but the paste feature doesn't work. This wasn't an issue with both Leopard and Snow Leopard. Do you have any solutions or tips?

I bought a new MacBook Pro with OsX Lion as operating system. I use iPhoto a lot and when I tried copying a photo then pasting it to another event/group, the 'paste' feature doesn't work. This wasn't the case with Leopard and Snow Leopard where the 'paste' feature worked. What I did was to paste the photo first to the desktop before transferring it to the new event/group. I brought my Mac to the Apple store where I bought it and the technicians were themselves surprised that the 'paste' feature didn't work. Chalked it up to glitches in the Lion os. So how do we fix this? I just find it absurd that a feature that used to work in Snow Leopard has been disabled in Lion, and the user still has to undergo an additional step to make it work, when new technology is supposed to make things easier for users.
Also, hasn't anyone noticed that it takes longer for the computer to boot upon opening?

Instead of copy and paste drag the photo to the new event. Or flag it and use the add flagged photos to selected event command

Hmmm, what makes you think there is a compression issue?
Some users have noticed gibberish pages full of symbols from Google and Twitter because a preference was corrupted. These threads address that issue:

Hi Drbobdog, there shouldn't be a compatibility with Android OS 2.2.3. There may be a compatability with the device itself.

Both Safari and Firefox will not load webpage

This is an issue in both Safari and Firefox (I use Firefox as my default, but since it's happening in Safari too, I figured I could post the problem here). I frequently visit Crate & Barrel's website and cb2.com, and as of recent I have not been able to load the site. I've tried on both my eMac (Safari and Firefox) and on my new iMac. I was able to load the page on a windows computer in my house. I'm not sure if I ever viewed their website on my iMac since it's new as of last month. On the eMac I visited the site often. Why all of the sudden would I not be able to load the website? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Adobe flash plug in continually crashes on firefox on mac. I reinstalled firefox and adobe flash and it still is a chronic issue. please help

"Copy to clipboard" issue with Acrobat X and Skype extension in Firefox

This post is just to let you know that there is and issue with Acrobat X and the Skype extension in Firefox.
I don't know why but when both programs (Firefox and Acrobat) are opened and I try to copy something from a PDF I always get an error
message like "Impossible to copy into the clipboard. An internal error occurred".
If I close Firefox or I disable the Skype extension for Firefox everything runs smoothly.
It is really odd, I don't know if it is a problem of Acrobat, Firefox or of Skype....
Are anyone experiencing the same problem?

Just found your post after getting the same problem with Google Chrome and Adobe Reader 10. It doesn't happen all the time but is annoying. If I switch Chrome off the problem is cured. Switch it straight back on and the problem reappears. It has only started after Skype was installed. Thanks for posting - I'll just switch Chrome off for now when I want to copy and paste unless a fix appears.
