Adobe Flash Not Installing

I recently removed Flashback Malware from my computer. I used Flashback Remover (http://www.f-secure.com/weblog/archives/00002346.html) to detect, quarentine and delete the malware. I've since tried to reinstall Flash, but to no avail. I've tried downloading it from the adobe site directly, then installing it. It says the install was successful, but when I go to a site that uses flash, I'm directed to download flash.
Before I found the malware on my computer, I tried moving my plug-ins ("/library/Internet Plug-Ins" and "~/library/Internet Plug-Ins") to a seperate file on my desktop to test which ones may be corrupt. Maybe this changed the path or the file for my plug-ins? I don't know, but I'd really like some help. All of my software is up to date, according to Software Update. Thanks.

OSX 10.6.8

Move on a Mac, by default, when on the same disk, simply changes the pointers for the file to a new location. If you moved those folders by dragging, you will have removed them from their original location, and not duplicated them.
If those folders are still on your desktop, I think you may need to put them back.

  • Adobe Flash - Not Installed, but is??

I was acessing a website that stated I needed to update my Adobe Flash, tried to upload and I just got the page that showed me what to expect and not update.  So I uninstalled the version I had and tried to upload the new version.  Still nothing happens, it's like it's there but not there.  When I go to the adobe site to see what version I have it tells me that it is installed and that it is version 10.3.181.26.  When I look in my All Programs I don't see it, but when I do a search on Adobe Flash Player in my All Programs, I find install_adobe_flash file.  But it won'd install.  I am using Windows 7, IE 8 and it does not indicate  64 bit.  Any help would be appreciated!

Hi readerbob1, I see what is happening now. The way the Forum works when anyone first registers, is that they select an option to receive email notifications from the Forum. Now when jek56 started the thread, then anyone that posts a message, he will receive a notice. If he chooses to reply by email, then his email address is posted also. Not a good idea since this is a Public Forum.
Since you posted a message on this thread, then you too will receive an email notification. Anyone and everyone that posts a message to this thread will receive an email notification. I receive many, since I'm on many threads. Right now I have around 1300:-)
So you thought you were replying to jek56. You were, but doing it via the Flash Player Forum.  I thought you were ignoring Pats' request that you start your own thread.
Ok, now that we have that cleared up; just a bit of advice to avoid this in the future. Whenever you or anyone that may be reading this receive an email notification, then just page down a little and use the "visit the message page" That will bring you directly to the thread and will not bring your personal email with it.
Sorry for jumping the gun; so I'll take back what I said.
But honestly, it would be so much easier if you started your own discussion. Like Pat said it can get very confusing for everyone, since you may follow directions that are meant for someone else and vice versa.

  • Adobe Flash Not Installed message

In the last 2 months whenever I put in a CD that requires
Adobe Flash, I get an error message that it is not installed. I
have reinstalled it, removed and reinstalled it, Downloaded fresh
copy (ver. 10), removed and reinstalled it...
    Any ideas?

Hope this isn't too late, but there are a couple fixes.  This is happening because your project is configured (Properties > Flex Compiler > ) to use a specific version of the Flash Player or the minimum version for the SDK (14.0.0.0) , but your Flash Builder installation is pointing at a different version of the Flash Player debugger (11.4.402.265).
So you can do two things:
Download the required version of the Flash Player debugger and configure Flash Builder to use that executable when debugging
    1. Click on the "Adobe Flash Player downloads" link in the dialog.
    2. Click on the Download the Windows Flash Player 14 Project, which is the FlashPlayer executable that runs in Windows.
    3. Copy the file to a new folder in the Flash Builder installation next to the existing 11.4 Flash Player (see your screenshot it is c:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Flash Builder 4.7\player\win\11.4)
    4. Back in Flash Builder
    5. Open Windows > Preferences
    6. Navigate to Flash Builder > Debug
    7. In the Standalone Flash Player(debug version) field click the ellipsis button to launch a file dialog
    8. Navigate to the Flash Player executable you downloaded and copied into the Flash Builder installation above
    9. Click OK to save the settings
    OR
Update the project properties to point to the same specific version that Flash Builder is using (11.4.402.265)
    1. Right click your project
    2. Select Properties from the context menu
    3. Navigate to the Flex Compiler panel
    4. Change the Adobe Flash Player Options field to 11.4.0
    5. Click OK to apply the changes

  • Adobe Flash not installing on OS X 10.8.5?

    Hi everyone,
I have been trying to update Flash Player on my Macbook Air, but for some reason every time I open the .dmg and click on the installer the program freezes and I get the wheel of death. I did the usual check and uninstalled Flash completely, but it still wouldn't install
I've been looking around online and a lot of people say that this is because the mach_kernel file is missing on my hard drive, but by using terminal it looks to be there (this is a screenshot of what I found on Terminal).
I was thinking that updating to Mavericks might fix it, but I quite like staying on Mountain Lion so if that could be avoided that would be brilliant.
Any advice about this would be really helpful, because it is quite debilitating to my daily laptop use.
    Thanks a lot,
    Jake

  • Adobe Flash not working on Windows 7 32 bit!?

"The specified module could not be found C:/Program Files/Common Files/Adobe/Adobe Version Cue CS4/Client/4.0.0/VersionCue.DLL" is the message that comes up everytime I have Adobe Flash CS4 installed and right click near any file, just not in open programs. After right clicking and having this annoying message pop up, it restarts Windows Explorer. Whenever I uninstall the program everything's fine, however I want to use this product (free trial) but none of my downloads and installations of it (at least 5) have worked! I check for a VersionCue.DLL and I can't find it, also when I choose things like Action Scriptt 3.0 and 2.0 or any other selection at the start up menu, it freezes and quits! I can't run as Admin because the message constantly pops up! Please help!
PS: Sorry if this shouldn't be posted here guys, I'm frustrated and I need to post this somewhere where someone may answer me!

why does adobe flash not work in my firefox. i have down loaded it several times. it will work in explorer and chrome.

IE uses a different version of Flash than other browsers use. You need to install the Plugin version of Flash for Firefox.
1.Download the Flash setup file from here: <br />
    [http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player.exe Adobe Flash - Plugin version]. <br />
Save it to your Desktop.<br />
    2. Close Firefox using File > Exit <br />
then check the Task Manager > Processes tab to make sure '''firefox.exe''' is closed, <br />
    {XP: Ctrl+Alt+Del, Vista: Shift+Ctrl+ESC = Processes tab}
    3. Then run the Flash setup file from your Desktop.

  • Adobe Flash not working with Windows 8

I recently updated from Windows 7 to Windows 8. When I open up the app for Internet Explorer in Windows 8, it tells me that I have Adobe Flash Player installed, but if I try to see a video on YouTube, it tells me that I have to install Adobe Flash Player!!! If I go to Amazon Cloud Player, it tells me that I have to install Adobe Flash Player to upload any files to my cloud. All this while still using the app for Internet Explorer in Windows 8. (As I mentioned, I have the latest version of Adobe Flash Player installed version 11. something - I can't reember all the numbers that follow.  I can't clear my cache or do any of the other things Adobe suggests, as none of the browsers now work in the Desktop - the only Browsers working are the IE and Google apps, and none of these two allow me to clear cache etc.) Any suggestions.? My computer I just bought 1 year ago and all worked well before upgrading to Windows 8. It is all so frustrating!!!!
Thanks to anyone who can help me.

Windows 8 comes with Flash Player preinstalled in Internet Explorer 10.  Use Windows Update to update Flash Player to the latest version.
I do not have Windows 8 (and have no plans to ever have it), so I do not know any details..  Something I read around here is that you need to open IE from the desktop in order to have Flash working.

How can I tell if Adobe Flash is installed properly and upto date version?
Hi Guys and girls, hopefully an easy question for you.
I installed Adobe flash and lightsource last night, cos I needed it to run Weebly website maker.
Anyone know if Weebly runs correctly on 10.9.1??
I have a new comp, so no previous version of flash on here, I am running OSX 10.9.1
I just want to know How I can tell if Adobe Flash is installed properly and is the upto date version?
Where do I go in the comp to find out,
If I type in Adobe flash into search it only brings up flash manager, when I click this it is an uninstaller program.
    Lightsource shows in finder apps.
If I type in flash player it shows up in plugins with a version number see screen shot.
Where would I go to check for updates for things like flash on my comp?
    Thanks Team,
    Jason in oz.   :?):)

    1. Safari > Preferences > Security > Internet Plug-ins
        Allow Plug-ins
    2. Go to this Adobe site to check. You will see the animation above the tree.

  • How to keep Adobe Flash Player installed?

    Hi,
I'll try to get to the point right away hoping some of you can share my experience and  find a way out of this problem: My computer is a Windows 7, my browser Mozilla Firefox, I use Opera as well.
I used to have Adobe Flash Player installed on my Windows 7 for a long time, it worked well,  but it seems something has changed lately: I promise I do follow every single instruction given by Adobe, checking if my PC is right, if my anti-virus allows the installation etc... Every time my download works well, seems to be installed, but when I want to use it (I do need it desperately for my work, I work in arts), it seems to crash or simply doesn't exist anymore. I must install it again, sometimes 5 times a day.
I'm logged in with Creative Cloud, I have my Adobe ID, I can check if I do have the right version (I can see the clouds pass by above the tree etc...) or I'm told with a bouncing red cube that Adobe Flash Player 11 is installed on my computer.
I've tried to activate my version as I read this somewhere, but how?
I do have Shockwave Flash plugin from Mozilla Firefox, is something wrong with that perhaps?
For a whole week Mozilla Firefox stopped responding and I had to initiate it again three times.
I'm simply lost and what's more important, I'm losing a lot of time.
My computer suffers from the permanent downloading and browser troubles.
Is there anyone who went through the same kind of experience and would be kind enough to exchange it with me?
My sincere thanks to you all for the time you're taking to give me some enlightening tips!
    Kindest regards,
    Gabs17   thanks!
PS. Could the reason for my problems be the fact that I haven't bought any Adobe product lately?

    Hi Gabs17,
Your Adobe product purchase history has nothing to do with Flash player install
Adobe Flash Player is a free software.
Make sure you have downloaded the right Flash Player as Flash Player for Firefox is different than one needed for Internet Explorer.
Please download it from : http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/
In case you still face issues please refer the KB : http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/installation-problems-flash-player-windows.html

  • Keep getting "blocked plug-ins for Adobe Flash despite installing new version

Keep getting "blocked plug-ins for Adobe Flash despite installing new version

You can check here:  http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about/  to see which version you should install for your Mac and OS. You should first uninstall any previous version of Flash Player, using the uninstaller from here (make sure you use the correct one!):
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/909/cpsid_90906.html
and also that you follow the instructions closely, such as closing ALL applications (including Safari) first before installing. You must also carry out a permission repair after installing anything from Adobe.
After installing, reboot your Mac and relaunch Safari, then in Safari Preferences/Security enable ‘Allow Plugins’. If you are running 10.6.8 or later:
When you have installed the latest version of Flash, relaunch Safari and test.
If you're getting a "blocked plug-in" error, then in System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced
click Check Now. Quit and relaunch your browser, but check this also:
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5655?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US  which also covers ‘blocked plug-in’.
