Adobe Flash Player 10: An ActionScript error has occurred?

Whenever I browse the web with Firefix, I get this sort of error message if the site uses Flash:
Adobe Flash Player 10
An ActionScript error has occurred:
Error #2044: Unhandled ioError:. text=Error #2032: Stream Error. URL: http://content.openforum.com/membersproject/getContentList.jsp?numitems=3&pillar=CAUSES

    at flash.events::EventDispatcher/dispatchEventFunction()
    at flash.events::EventDispatcher/dispatchEvent()
    at flash.net::URLLoader/onComplete()
This only started happening when I upgraded to CS4 Professional. Does anyone know why this is happening?

first go here and check if you have the debug player:  http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/155/tn_15507.html
if yes, you can download from here:  http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
(be sure to untick that mcafee garbage.)

  • Adobe Flash Player failed to initalize error

    Hello there -  I'm so hoping someone can help me out.  I am trying to download Adobe flash player and get an error message - "failed to initialize".  I've tried deleting my old file and still no luck.  I also tried to save it and then go to windows explorer to run the program but can't find it, even when I do a search.  The funny thing is when I go into unintall programs, there's an incon for it. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.  Can anyone help me out?  I would really love to watch videos on youtube.  :-)  I'm running windows vista and using windows explorer 9. Thanks so much! JodiJ.

    Came across this problem a few times...
    Did you try deleting the actual files from the install directory manually? I think they are located in c:\windows\system32\macromed\flash
    Also came across this... maybe helpful...
    I don't know what web browsers you use, so my instructions are for both browser types (Internet Explorer, and other browsers like Firefox).
    go to http://forums.adobe.com/thread/889580
    download the installer for Internet Explorer and save it to disk;
    if you use other browsers, then also download the other installer and save it to disk;
    close all browser windows, then use Windows Explorer to run the installers you downloaded (install_flash_player_10_active_x.exe and possibly install_flash_player_10.exe).
    If you still get errors
    please give the exact error message you are getting
    list (copy & paste) the contents of the FlashInstall.log file in C:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Flash

    Actionscript is in the Flash container.
    Unless you see this everywhere you view Flash content... it's in that specific page.

  • Error 2007 Some Actionscript error has occured

    I have tried the converter on a couple of modules that I have been working.  I have actually tried it on two differnet machines to make sure there wasn't something machine specific.  I am getting Error 2007 - Seom Actionscript error has occured.  Has anyone seen this?  Any idea what is casuing it?
    I have just begun my exploration of the converted and this is my first couple of attempts so I could be doing somethign really obvious.
    This is a very basic simuation module with not much more than captions and click boxes.

    I've installed twice and always run as admin but same issue. If you hear anything else please let me know.

  • Adobe Flash Player 10.1 issues, errors with Quickbooks Pro 2010 installation

    I recently - uh today - had an agonizing experience installing Quickbooks Pro 2010 because I kept receiving error messages during the Quickbooks installation. It was a new cd that I had purchased a few months ago from Costco, and had been putting off using it, or even installing it.
    So today, I tried to install it, and failed repeatedly. I kept getting the same message, Adobe Flash player file is unavailable - with a drop down screen showing the location of the flash player file that the installation software was trying to find so it could continue the installation. I think I recall seeing an error message originally with Adobe Flash Player 10.1, but it's been a long day, so maybe the error was always referring to Flash Player 8.0.  I tried to browse for a new location that the Flash Player file might be located, looking through the Program Files\Adobe and coming up with nothing.
    I spent a long time looking through the discussion forums on both Quickbooks and Adobe trying to find the answer, also turning off and on my computer,  ha. And I installed the latest Flash version, Flash Player 10.1, then uninstalled it and then reinstalled it, and then uninstalled it and looked for the obsolete Flash Player 8.0 which I couldn’t find on Adobe’s website, but found links to in two other forums…So basically, I tried to solve this on my own, and it didn't work.
    So...I was whining to a friend who suggested I just call Quickbooks technical support. Duh, why didn't I think of that? I guess because the packaging on the new software says that fees may apply if you call customer service.  Well, it doesn't apply to the first call, and also it's crazy to charge someone who can't even install the program. So I called them, and was on hold forever.
    But the problem was solved.
    The tech support person, Manish, was able to install Quickbooks by completely bypassing the usual installation procedure.  He checked for compatibility, which was fine, I have Windows XP, etc. and then I believe went to control panel, add or remove programs, and clicked on add programs, and followed the icons with the Wizard to install the latest version of Quickbooks.  The interesting thing here is that QB has some special download to allow remote access during a trouble shooting call. It initially freaked me out, but it worked just fine, since I could see what was happening on my computer screen even though I wasn't the one operating the computer.
    I asked Manish why this installation method seemed to work. He said some of the Quickbooks cds have a bad Flash Player program file, and doing it this way seems to bypass it. He also said that Quickbooks should not compatibility issues with Flash 8.0 or Flash 10.1, but there were some problems noted with Flash Player 9.0.  I asked if I would have problems if I uninstalled Flash Player 8.0 and then reinstalled 10.1. He said there shouldn’t be problems, so that’s what I just finished doing.
    Hopefully this is helpful for someone else out there in cyberland.
    Also, it was kind of helpful, someone else posted on another forum that you could check what flash files you have by going to C:\Windows\System 32\Macromed\Flash, because I couldn’t even find where the Flash Player was installed.  They are not in the Program files under Adobe.

    Hi, well that sounds like quite an ordeal. Your Flash files are located in C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash  Open Flash with a right click and post back all files listed there. It may be a good idea to just confirm that they are correct.
    Then Using Internet Explorer, go to Tools, Manage addons and Toolbars & Extensions and look for a box Show all add ons.
    You should find Shockwave Flash Object..ActiveX Control..Flash10h.ocx and make sure it is enabled.
    The Flash files and that ActiveX Control is Flash Player.
    Now if you use another browser, you may want to post that version info as well. Also, what service pack do you have with XP?
    Thanks,
    eidnolb

  • An ActionScript error has occured - Flash Player

    Hello,
    I keep getting this kind of errors whenever I visit a website that has adobe flash on it and it is very very annoying guys, please do something about it. It doesn't happen on all websites but but quite frequently I'm using the latest Firefox build and latest Adobe Flash v14.
    Please solve this issue. Thank you.
    Another example is when I want to upload an image on http://imgur.com,  again the error appears:
    TypeError: Error #1010: A term is undefined and has no properties.

  • An flash ActionScript error has occurred

    so i keep getting action script errors, when looking on here for answers it seems other people have had this problem as well for a while. i am pretty sure it is due to the ads, and i am pissed that the 8.1 skype client refuses to work now and i am forced into using this crappy disktop client that keeps giving me errors due to ads! i do not want ads! i have skype 7.7 and flash 18. i have uninstalled and reinstalled skype, it hasnt helped. i have also had flash issues in my web browser and had to install the ad block plus extention to stop the flash ads. why the heck does skype have to have ads for pc!?

    If you are getting constant actionscript errors then you more than likely have the debug version of Flash for IE installed.  To resolve those error you would need to completely uninstall Flash and install the standard version of Flash.   https://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-windows.html Download and install the latest version of Adobe Flash for IE ( currently 18 )
    https://admdownload.adobe.com/bin/live/flashplayer18ax_ha_install.exe To not get ads all you need need to do is have an active credit balance.  My credit balance has sat in my account unused for years.  Ads are used in free and paid TV so I don't see an issue with ads when using free services though I question the execution of ads.  There's always a bill to be paid and even free TV isn't funded by paying customers.

  • Flash Player 10 (plugin) actionscript error pop-up dialogue

    A few weeks ago Flash Player began Popping up dialogue boxes as i traversed the web.
    Not looking for embedding flash content on sites i can't conclude what triggered these pop-ups.
    They vary in what they say and are not always the same error message nor description. I was wondering if someone has seen these and has a "fix" or even a way to keep them from popping up as they are annoying.
    I use this PC as a development system and have Adobe CS5 Web installed and use it...including Flash CS5 Professional and Flex Builder 4+.
    Below is a typical pop-up that I am seeing:

    I was having the same problem, but the full installer worked for me.  There's at least one other thread reporting the same thing.  I guess there's something wrong with Adobe's servers tonight.

  • When I try to open any PDF files or Adobe Reader I get "an internal error has occured" message.

    I have a PC running Windows 7.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled.  I have tried deleting the registry files and reinstalling.  I have tried to right click on the Adobe Icon and run Troubleshoot Compatability but also receive the same message.  When I click on error details it says Error Code: 0x80070005.  Any thoughts?  I am not very technical and this is the limit of experience.  Thank you.

    Try disabling Protected Mode; download, unzip, then run the registry script from https://files.acrobat.com/a/preview/71bd7776-d0e3-47fe-a5d6-1e75a0373eb1

  • OpenScript ActionScript Error from Adobe Flash Player 9

    I get a popup ActionScript Error from Adobe Flash Player 9 when trying to record a Flex Tree object using OpenScript 9.2.1.0 Production. Specifically, I click on the Triangle that opens/closes the view of the child nodes underneath the parent node of a Tree. Initially, the triangle arrow already pointing down and the child node is already showing. When I click on the triangle, the node underneath goes up and disappears under its parent node and the traingle is then pointing to the parent node.
    When I click this triangle in Firefox without OpenScript recording, I don't get any errors, popups, or issues. It seems to work correctly. During OpenScript recording, the recording seems to crash with a popup that is titled "Adobe Flash Player 9" and has the text "An ActionScript error has occurred" with the following error message:

    I am using OATS 9.2.1.0 with Firefox 3.6.17. I am testing a Flex 3.3 SDK built application. I installed the Adobe Flash Player 9 that came with the Flex SDK 3.3 before installing OATS.
    Any help on this issue is greatly appreciated.
    Some other information that may prove to be useful: I cannot seem to get OpenScript to consistently play back the actions on the same tree described above. Sometimes it works and sometimes it does not. I've tried using "Select Tree", "Select List", and "Click Tree" and each one is inconsistent on playback. It will report "Target Not Found".
    I have the console output for a "Target Not Found" failure below, where line 100 is ".select("GRID1>server1", TriggerEvent.Mouse," from the following Java generated on recording with OpenScript:
