Adobe Flash player 16.0.0.235 crashes on Firefox 34.0.5, Windows 7

I recently installed Adobe Flash player 16.0.0.235 and now it always crashes wherever I try to watch a video on Firefox 34.0.5 on Windows 7. I tried all the troubleshooting advice from Firefox (checking that Flash is installed properly, checking to see that Flash isn't disabled, restoring default settings, disabling hardware acceleration, ect) and nothing has worked. Here are my last 5 crash reports:

Thanks in advance for your help!

It appears that you have multiple versions of the Flashplayer installed on Firefox. Please remove all versions of Flashplayer from your computer and install the latest version from [http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ here].

  • Missing plug-ins after downloading adobe flash player 11.2.202.235

    Hello again:
I sent a request the other day for help regarding my downloading Adobe Flash Player 11.2.202.235 and losing the ability to play my games( they were bookmarked from the web) because of missing plug- ins.  I mentioned that I know very little about this computer.  I did get a reply saying that he needed more information about my computer which I sent and I have not heard anything back.  I probably did not send the message correctly therefore I am sending the info again and I hope I don't screw it up this time. My computer is as follows:
    iMac4,1 Version 10.6.8
    Intel core duo
    2GHz
    # of processors 1
    Total # of Cores 2
    L2 Cache 2MB
    Memory 1.5GB
    Bus Speed 667 MHZ DDR2SDRAM
    BootRom Version 1M41.0055.B08
    SMC Version(system) 1.1F5
I hope you can help me in the simplest way possible so I can understand your instructions.
    Thanks again,
    Margaret

It's confusing when a single poster starts two threads on the same topic and it divides the replies or has duplicate replies for those that are unware of the other thread.  You should post the above in the thread you originally started after my post which asked for some clearification on the problem.

  • Flash player 16.0.0.235 problem on firefox 34

In continuation of this: Flash player 16.0.0.235 unresponsive on Firefox 34.0.5
Firefox disables the up to date flash plugin. If I manually enable it and try to see flash content then the cursor keeps blinking busy until I close the tab with the flash content.
I have now noticed the the Flash plugin process does not start when I enable the plugin and try to view content. In contrast, flash works normally on Chrome. I dont know why, but it looks like firefox keeps trying to start the flash plugin process but doesnt manage to do so. Have reinstalled both flash and firefox but it didnt help.
    Please help!
Edit: disabling protected mode seems to solve the problem, but I'm sure its not a good solution. Any input?

  • Why the hell ADOBE FLASH PLAYER 10.2 DOESN'T WORK on Firefox 4???

Adobe Flash Player 10.2 doesn't work on firefox 4. I downloaded 10 times, I installed and again, "Please install ADOBE FLASH PLAYER"

You appear to have it installed twice. Your system specs show you have both Shockwave Flash 9.0 r28 and Shockwave Flash 10.2 r159 installed.
What I suggest you do here is to uninstall Flash using Adobe's uninstaller which you can download from here: [http://download.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/current/uninstall_flash_player.exe uninstall_flash_player.exe]
Close Firefox before you run the uninstaller, then reboot.
Then manually install Flash using this file: [http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player.exe install_flash_player.exe] Close Firefox again before you run it.

  • Adobe flash player 11.8.800.94 crashes quite often, is there a solution?

The adobe flash player has always crashed for me on occasion, I attributed this simply to be a necessary evil.
However I recently upgraded to the new 11.8.800.94 and have noticed quite a few new quirks that are becoming quite irritating as time goes on and I was wondering if anyone has experienced these as well or know of any potential fixes.
I frequently have youtube videos open on one of my monitors and on the other a webcam chatting service, omegle and the like.
Here is where the issues begin, I will occasionally get a very noticable audio feedback in my headset. It does not happen every time I switch to speaking with someone else but it is often enough that I find it quite irritating.
The second issue I have is far more irritating however, what used to be a crash maybe once a day has become 20+ times a day.
I use Firefox and currently have ver. 22.0 of that browser, now I have not tested it on chrome or internet explorer because neither of those have the ad block capacity that I enjoy and I would prefer not to use another browser.
Has anyone else been experiencing similar problems?

I also have this sudden problem with Flash 11.8 that is crashes sometimes every some minutes on flash cam chat sites.
You should go to about:crashes in your browser and click the latest crashes and look, if you come to this kind of bug:
    https://crash-stats.mozilla.com/report/index/7ac3f843-9dd4-40c2-a861-4296c2130707
    http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=888616
It's a top crasher for flash in FF22.
Right now while writing this, I have such flash chat crash.
Going back to Flash 11.7 from the archives helped me.
But I did this mistake to update again hoping for a fix.

  • Adobe Flash Player 11.7.700.169 crashes

After installing Adobe Flash Player 11.7.77.169 Internet Explorer crashes on any page that uses flash.

@MrDanne - This is most likely a different issue that was previously reported.  I'd like to investigate but would request that you follow the steps outlined in this FAQ.
How do I report a Flash Player crash to Adobe?
If you're up for generating a crash log, you can try the following steps.
    1. Download and extract the procdump utility to your C: drive - http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/dd996900
    2. Open a command prompt and type the following in:
    c:\procdump -e 1 -f * -x c:\dumps "C:\Program Files (x86)\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe"
Please note that if IE is installed somewhere else, you'll need to alter the path.  This works for me on Windows 7 x64.
    3. That should launch IE and the command prompt will display a bit of information letting you know that procdump is monitoring the process.
    4. Cause IE to crash, then locate the .dmp file at C:\dumps.   Zip this file up and send it to [email protected] and I'll take a look to see if I can figure out what's going on.

  • Adobe Flash Player, will not work. Crashes EVERYTIME.

I'm not a huge computer person, so this explanation will suck:
Okay, I have a Toshiba laptop, OS is Windows and I use Mozilla Firefox as my browser.
About 3 days ago, I opened Youtube and tried to play a video, and it said I need to update Adobe. I updated it to version 10.3.183.7.
Now videos/games/moving pictures works. It just says, "Adobe Flash Player failed.".
I've tried it on Google Chrome, and Internet Explorer, and nothing works.
I'm constantly on Youtube, but this is a huge disappointment. I've always used Adobe Flash Player, and it has always worked, but now it isn't.
Before you go and start asking/telling me very technical things, please be aware I will have not a clue what you are saying.
    Thanks for reading.

Would you mind opening a new bug on this issue over at bugbase.adobe.com?  Here's a post that describes the information we'll need and instructions for generating a crash log:

  • APSB14-27 Adobe Flash Player 16.0.0.235 failed to install

I am still new to ZPM/ZCM.
I have associated this patch to install on my Windows 7 x64 test devices. The installation status is success on ZCC (under the installation tab). On the ZAA bundle properties page, it shows up as available. No browsers were running. But when I opened my browser to check the installed Flash Player version http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player.html, I see that the old version is still installed.
    Please kindly advise. Thank you.

When you open your browser, what version does it show is installed?
Did you confirm through the Control Panel - Add & Remove/Programs and features that it shows that 16 was installed?
I believe for the 16.x.x update to install that at least version 14.x has to be installed prior as 16 is an update not a full installer.
I am currently running ZCM / ZPM 11.3.2 so it may be different in 11.2.4 and earlier,
however My patch policy has rules that add the adobe patch's and then I add members which install the software installers (in this case "Adobe Flash Player 14.0.0.145 (Other Browsers) for Windows (Full/Upgrade) (All Languages)" and "Adobe Flash Player 14.0.0.145 (Internet Explorer) for Windows (Full/Upgrade) (All Languages)". Thus the package runs the installer (FULL/Upgrade) for 14.x as well as runs the patch install for 16.x....
We are running Windows 7 x64 and Windows Vista x86 workstations - software packages seem to be working with no issues (Currently)

  • Flash player 16.0.0.235 unresponsive on Firefox 34.0.5

I have installed the latest version of flash player (16.0.0.235) on firefox 34, however firefox disables the plugin automatically. If I activate it manually, then everytime I open a page with flash content (e.g youtube video) the cursor starts blinking with the busy circle and firefox becomes unresponsive until I close the tab with the flash content. Weirdly, youtube videos play even if the flash plugin is disabled (why?), however other flash content tells me I dont have flash player installed (I suppose because firefox disables it).
Have tried reinstalling both the flash player and firefox to no avail. Whats going on? OS: Windows 8
    Thank you

    Carole,
You do not seem to have Adobe Flash (aka Shockwave Flash) installed. If you did you would see it listed under your plugins. Follow the instructions in the article below to install Flash in Firefox.
    See: https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Installing+the+Flash+plugin
After the installation, check your version here: http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/
    or here: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/plugincheck/
    Current version is: 10.1.53.64

  • Adobe Flash Player 11.3 r300 still crashing (includes about:crashes)

Just had some more crashes while trying to use youtube this morning. In a previous discussion you asked for the "about:crashes" report, so here they are.

    https://crash-stats.mozilla.com/report/index/3ecec5b8-06e5-4e43-8a36-a9f5b2120627
I wasn't sure what you meant when you asked to "Attach the output of dxdiag.exe to your new discussion"

This is the crash that we're tracking.  If you haven't done so already, update to Firefox 13.0.1 and Flash Player 11.3.300.262.  They both address stability issues that present with this crash signature.  Then, make sure you have the latest available drivers for your video card.
Once you've gotten that out of the way, we want to make sure that we get this issue fixed.  The steps below will help narrow down the cause and help us take the shortest path possible to getting a fix for you.
1.) Type "about:crashes" in your address bar, and copy the links for the time period where you encountered the crash.
2.) Please temporarily disable other plugins.  Click Firefox > Help > Restart with Add-ons disabled
3.) Try disabling Hardware Acceleration in Flash Player.  Details are in the Solve Video Problems section, here:  http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/video-playback-issues.html
4.) If the issue persists, please disable Hardware Acceleration in Firefox:
    Click the orange Firefox button
    Click Options
Under General, uncheck Use hardware acceleration where available
5.) Attach the output of dxdiag.exe.  Click "Use Advanced Editor" in the upper right above they reply window, and you'll get an Attach Files option.
