Adobe Flash Player Alternative

I am looking for an alternative to Adobe Flash Player to access certain videos and websites etc. Are there any reliable 3rd party apps to help facilitate this?

No Flash for iPads, iPhones, or iPods
Here's why there's is no Flash available for iDevices or other mobile devices. Adobe was unable to provide a product that was suitable to the needs of battery powered mobile devices used for Internet browsing. Existing Flash technology used too much memory, ate battery life, and was buggy. Simply put Flash did not work well on mobile devices.
Apple's Steve Jobs led the escape from Flash dependency when Apple introduced the iPhone, and later introduced the iPad. There was a hue and cry over the omission. Time proved Jobs was right on target.
So this is why there is no Flash for your iPhone or iPad or iPod nor for most SmartPhones. Flash has been abandoned by many sites in favor of supported technologies such as HTML5 or by providing their own custom app.
Here is Steve Jobs official comment on his momentous decision to omit Flash from iDevices: Steve Jobs on Flash.
Here is Adobe's later announcement to cease development of Flash for mobile devices: Adobe on Mobile Flash.
Now, you are not necessarily out on a limb. There are some apps that can display some Flash, but don't count on there ability to display anything using Flash.
Apps that can display some Flash content from the Web:
Puffin
SkyFire
Photon Flash
Browse2Go
iSwifter
Also, note that many sites that use Flash provide their own app for accessing their material. So check with your favorite sites and find out if "there's an app for that."

  • No Adobe Flash Player Alternative?

I love to play games like Monster Busters and Candy Crush Soda on Facebook while on my phone. I just bought this Nokia Lumia 530 and have now realized it doesn't use Adobe Flash. Is there any way around this,or an alternative altogether? I miss my games!

Hi, sweetjen75. @paulheu and @jacevoor are correct. Adobe Flash is not supported. Lumia phones only support HTML5. BTW, welcome to the community.

Mozilla is currently developing an open standards-based Flash renderer called Shumway.
    https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Mozilla/Projects/Shumway
Available as an extension [http://mozilla.github.io/shumway/extension/firefox/shumway.xpi here]. ''< click to launch the add-on installer.''
''It seems to work fine on YouTube videos in the Firefox 31 release version, although it is somewhat CPU intensive.''
And also available in the Nightly development versions.
    http://nightly.mozilla.org/
Feel free to try it out, but make sure you install it into its' own Program Files folderset and make sure you create a unique Profile for use only with Nightly. If the same Profile is used with both Release and pre-release versions problems sometimes arise after switching back and forth between different versions of Firefox. Basically, Nightly is like 18 weeks ''(at a minimum)'' removed from becoming a release version, but some projects stay on Nightly for a longer time as they are being developed. That happens to provide as many user / testers as possible, by not resorting to a separate development trunk version.

  • Is there an alternative to adobe flash player for the iPad?

Is there an alternative to adobe flash player for the ipad2?

No - flash is not supported, and probably never will be (http://www.apple.com/hotnews/thoughts-on-flash/ and Adobe havn't created a version that works on iOS anyway).
Browsers such as Skyfire, iSwifter, and Puffin 'work' on some sites, but not all judging by the reviews. You might also find that some sites (especially news sites) have their own apps on the app store which let you get some of the content that you want.

  • Alternative to Adobe Flash Player for Macs running Yosemite

Is there a reliable and secure alternative to Adobe Flash Player for Macs running Yosemite?  I keep getting websites telling me that I can see a video because my Flash Player needs to be updated.  But I haven't wanted to install it as I've heard negative things about it and Macs.  Is there an alternative to Flash Player?  And if so, what is it and where do I find it?

Being that Flash is very insecure, I've completely removed it from my MacBook Pro. The best alternative is to uninstall Flash from your system and download Google Chrome as it has Flash build into it and you're not vulnerable unless you're browsing in Chrome. If Safari is your main browser, as mine is, then you need to open Safari Preferences, go to Advanced and click the checkbox for 'Show Develop menu in menu bar'. Once you've done this, the Develop menu bar menu shows up and you can click it and choose 'Open Page With' and choose Chrome. It is a bit cumbersome, but it removes the vulnerability when browsing in Safari as many sites are now using HTML5. Hope this help.

  • If dont have ADOBE FLASH PLAYER... What is the alternative flash player for ipad mini and iphone

If dont have ADOBE FLASH PLAYER...in mini ipad and iphone.. What is the alternative flash player for ipad mini and iphone

There is no Flash for iOS and there never will be any Flash.
Try the newer HTML5 versions of those Web sites that offer it.

  • IPhone Alternative to Adobe Flash Player for video

Is there an alternative to view video on iPhone. Whenever I want to click on and see a video it says need to upload Adobe and Adobe Flash Player not available for iPhone. Thank you for an help. Kevin

Flash still has it's uses, but the need for Flash due to lack of any usable alternatives is certainly diminishing. And many sites are using Flash for things for which there are practical, non-proprietary, alternatives such as the technologies in HTML5.
What irritates me are sites that use Flash only for doing fancy text. That's just the developer being too lazy to write CSS.

  • Adobe Flash player now demands installation of McAfee Security Scan, is there an alternative to Adobe Flash player?

I do not want ant McAfee products installed on my system but now it seems that Adobe Flash player goes hand in hand with McAfee Security Scan, you can't have one without the other. What on earth are Adobe up to and are there any other options? Thank you.

You can download without mcaffe, jus uncheck the '''Optional offer'''

  • I cannot download adobe flash player to my comuter

This problem has been occurring and reoccurring since November 2012, I receive a message on my desktop stating that I need to update my adobe flash player. I click to do this and am transported to the adobe flash player download site. I click the "download now" tab and receive the download instructions page. When the popup window appears I select "save file" as instructed. I am then transported to the Firefox download list where I double click the flash player install highlighted in blue. The next pop up window asks if I want to "run file". I click "run file" and nothing happens. (alternatively I get a pop up window that asks me to continue if I am the administrator and I click "continue" and nothing happens) The pop up windows previously mentioned list the source of the download as C:/users/"my name"/downloads and when I click "details" it says (sic) C:/users/"my name"/ downloads remove C:/file/users etc. Sometimes I will get a message saying file cannot be found at C:/users etc. Of course not, because the file is in firefox downloads and not in my user download file. Is there a way to fix this? The flash player is not listed under firefox plugins so I cannot disable it or change it. Incidentally, other download files for updates etc are working without issues, I did have to disable the adobe reader plug in so that I can view PDF files on other internet sites. I have Vista sP2 on Dell XPS 420 with Firfox version 18.01

You actually have the most Recent Flash player, so I'm not sure why you are getting a notice. Try to Reset Firefox [[Reset Firefox – easily fix most problems]]

  • How can I view a website that requires adobe flash player on my ipad

I wish to view a website but a message is displayed the adobe flash player is required but is not supported by my iPad. Any suggestions, I am new to iPad.

Adobe Flash is not available for mobile devices, and has never been available for iOS devices. Adobe ceased development of it a year ago and removed it from availability for Android devices in August.
So, in short, Flash is dead on mobile.
If the site you are trying to visit wants visitors from the ever increasing number of mobile devices, they may have a dedicated app available in the AppStore. Otherwise you'll have to view it on your computer.
There are a few alternative browsers that offer limited compatibility with some Flash-based sites, but whether they'll help in your case, I don't know. Look for Skyfire, Puffin, Photon etc.

  • How do I view Adobe Flash Player documents in my min ipad?

I want to view the seating chart at www.ticketmaster.com and it comes in Adobe Flash Player, but I cannot see it as the mini ipad does not support this sw.  Can you tell me how to solve this issue, especially, when it is a standard in the web community for displaying documents.

Adobe has not made a version of Flash for the iPad.
