Adobe flash player crashes browser

The flash player I use started craching just itself now it crashes both firefox and IE. Ive already reinstalled it what now.

The next thing to check would be your McAfee add ons that are in each browser.
You didn't say which McAfee program you have Installed, but try disabling any and all of the addons.
There is also a Virus Scan that is known to cause problems, but you double click the icon in your system tray and see if you have it.
Click Advanced Menu, Configure, Computer & Files. The Virus Scan should be in the right-hand windows.
Some users have the scriptproxy, Toolbar, etc.
Turning these off and see if that helps.
Also when you say the browsers are crashing, explain exactly what is happening. Anti-Virus addons in the browser can conflict with the Websites and also Flash Player, since Flash Player works thru the browser. In fact addons can conflict with each other.
That would be the only thing that I know that is left to check.
Thanks,

  • Adobe Flash Player crashes on Firefox (NetSteam, Stratus)

    Flash Player version: 11,8,800,97 (last)
    OS: Windows 7
    Browser: Mozilla Firefox 22.0 (last)
Problem: Adobe Flash Player crashes on Firefox, when runnig project with such elements like NetSteam, Stratus.
When problem happen: Only when some streamed data is incoming, after random time. Time before crash can be 4 minutes, it also can be 2 minutes. Memory leaks or disk space usage didn't change and don't seem to be a reason. Problem happen when I was testing my voice chat together with few people. At one moment it crashed at few computers at the same time (which were using Firefox). Then we had luck with repeating this problem several times - simply by asking one of us to play any music into Microphone. Then Firefox Flash Player always crashing.
Here you can see repeating of problem: http://youtu.be/BdkoQxloyDA
It also show that it does not crashes if nobody is sending audio stream in created group, but it does when somebody is sending audio stream. In that video I'm repeating problem by myself, with help of one computer and 2 tabs of Flash Player. First is running in Chrome, second in Firefox. Player in Chrome is used to send system sound from speakers to peer group. Player in Firefox is listening and playing everything he hears (this is why I set it's volume to near 1).
    Here is .swf :
    http://www.plazmaburst2.com/vchat/vchat.swf?1375377116&l=ANY_LOGIN_NAME&g=b1a2e6f17f339b63 6382b2d6cccadb21
It's very simplified voice chat which only displays streams which are being heared. It's adding " is talking" when stream is sending data. "g" parameter is a group name, I think you can choose any, but tests were made with this one.
Hope it helps. If you will need .fla file - just tell me.

Your issue is distinct from the original poster's issue about a crash on Mac.  I've branched this out to a new thread so that we're not confusing everyone.
Firefox on Win8 isn't very stable.  We're collaborating with Mozilla on improvements, and my test results with the daily development builds are really promising, but it will be a few more weeks before they actually make it to production releases.
In the meantime, you're way better off using IE or Chrome.

  • Why does Adobe Flash player crash so much?

This is not the first version of FireFox that Adobe Flash player crashes on. It happens 2, sometimes 3 times a day, my browser locks up for 45 seconds or so then I see the "Adobe Flash Player has crashed" yet again.
I've read the forums, tried suggestions but it continues to crash.
I want to keep using Firefox, but I'll have to switch to chrome and just use firefox for the better firebug.
I'm sure this is adobes issue and not firefox, but there's not much I can do.

Try to disable the hardware acceleration in the Flash Player.

  • Adobe Flash player crashes constantly

Adobe Flash player crashes in all browsers. I have tried disabling hardware acceleration, expanding memory storage, downloading older versions etc, etc.  I have tried IE10, Firefox 17, Chrome, Avant, and Safari, all with the same issues. I am running an I3 processor at 2.93ghz on an ASUS motherboard, 16gig of RAM, 2gig NVidia graphics card. Any ideas?
Sorry should add that I'm running Windows 8 Pro

Usually a complete fresh install resolves this.
Download the following files by right clicking and selecting "Save Link as"
    Flash Player Uninstaller
Flash Player for ActiveX (Internet Explorer)
Flash Player Plug-in (All other browsers)
Save ALL files to your Downloads folder - DO NOT RUN anything yet.
    Reboot your system.
BEFORE opening anything else, go to your Downloads folder and run the UNINSTALLER to remove all instances of Flash Player.
    Next, run the ActiveX Installer.
Lastly, run the Installer for other browsers.
Once Flash Player is installed go to: http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/alternates/#sp
Download BOTH files, the one on the right FIRST by right clicking and selecting "Save target as"... the other by clicking and following the steps to dwonload the  ActiveX installer.

You might want to Run the Flash Player Uninstaller and remove flash player.
    For Windows : http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-windows.html
    Restart the machine.
    Download and Re-install Flash Player.
    Restart the browser and check.
Check the same using an alternate browser like chrome and see if you get the same issue.

  • Adobe Flash Player Crashes

I have this problem which I believe many other people has. Everytime I'm on a website which has some sort of flash content/flash game that needs you to load a high amount of flash files to your computer, it will start running slower and increase the CPU usage of the browser you're using, and later it will crash. It doesn't matter what browser I'm using, neither the version, It's any browser. When the flash content starts loading onto my computer those flash files will end up in my Temporary Internet Files folder (That is if I'm using Internet Explorer) and when it starts doing that it wont stop until you either close it down and start it up again or just keep on playing the flash game or viewing the flash content until it will simply crash. The only difference I know about the crash problem in each browsers is that in the IE browser, when it crashes it will recreate the pages which you were on before the crash happened, in Mozilla Firefox it will just crash and show no error messages at all, neither do IE so I have no idea why I got this problem.
I haven't always had this problem. About two years ago my computer worked fine with no problems when playing flash in any browser. But now I don't know why it keeps on loading more and more flash content until it crashes. I thought it had something to do with the Temporary Internet Files folder, but now I see that it doesn't affect the flash player from crashing if the Temporary Internet Files folder is full or nearly. It's something to do with the CPU usage of the browser. The file size of the browser goes from 200 MB to 1 GB+ and makes it crash like if it was unable to load anymore files. Most people would probably say that It's because I need more RAM in my computer, but it was running fine two years ago so I don't see why it can't run smoothly again.
Anyone got a solution for this? It commonly happens on flash games on Facebook like Farmville, any game with lots of flash content to be loaded.
Using the latest Adobe Flash Player 10 version (not beta).
I'm running WIndows Vista Home Premium SP 2
    Intel Core2 Duo CPU   P8600  @ 2.40GHz  2.40GHz
    4,00 GB RAM

Flash doesn't work but only with facebook game Farmville and lately, facebook videos posted. You said to delete flash folders so I did. I have latest version Chrome, flash, Firefox, also Windows Vista 8, 32-bit, and flash crashes with each , used to be only on opening, took 2 minutes as kept getting popups"a plug-in isn't working" or"Flash isn't working on these pages- wait , or kill them?" I could still open  farm while live "chat" support waited , now it takes 15-30 minutes or more. A one-screen game,It opens in 4 full screens now,a full screen sky, 2 more empty, then farm, then empty, then tools others see from their  farms but i must scroll far to... and all items fill in slowly one by one. Any move I make makes screen turn white , won't reopen usually for hours of non-stop trying: if I plow, harvest, put item just purchased on farm, latter crashes instantly and when reopened , farm didn't save change, item back in gift box, over and over. Imp. parts don't show, any mesage fv sends to facebook "feed" from farm crashes me & stops message."Support' link always before  under farm splash screen missing over 8 days. I did all you said, every step, all things were already right, 'enable' where should be, etc. Only thing I have not done is clear  computer cache  ( I deleted all in flash cache) cuz my boss sends me copy to correct as email attachment so it has TIF (temp internet file) name and I'm afraid to change name.Is that obviously the problem, to you, or what can I do to play game i've put $100 a month into for 3 years!  My computer is divided for 2 users; last week I used other side for 1st time and FV worked great when I posted even, but then they'd send pop-up"you were named as one who can't post but you just posted. Please send report so we can know what you did before it posted  to help others." That would then crash it.Both FV and FB are too busy developing new attractions to fix old issues, said so in Wash post, didn't care if lost old clients cuz there are plenty of new ones .Please advise-is there instances of flash never working on facebook game? Is it irreparable,as I downloaded  new copies of latest versions, deleted old, still no playing? I seem to have 2 javas -same brand ,kind,etc-is that a prob? I also have about 2-3 flashes, 1 for global continuity or some such, which I switched settings to under your advice to work in firefox and IE and then things got worse. It had the letters you said the one I needed to use had-which of other two is the one to delete, neither gives any word of info about itself different to enable me to  I.D. older one. Maybe was same version. Please help- I am on 100% disability & terminal and sit all I can do, I played farmvile 10-15 hours a day. Please please help! At Halloween they let players "trick" my farm, turning animals "invisible" (green to match grass they were on, with no eyes or features just outline). It tok me 30 days to find 2 of them, and"clean up" or undo not on their menus anymore. Since, 7 other animals went green as soon as left my giftbox for farm cuz shared partial name of a green one (Tennese horse, foal; tourist  calf, cow) but we have 5 farms each and only turned green on farm that was tricked.  All the flash errors tho make me sure it's flash,do I delete all my flashes and download latest (only one) ; should I ensure it is one for global continuity? Must I clear cache? Is there anything else I can di?

  • Adobe Flash Player crashes whenever accessing settings

Your operating system & version: Windows 8.1
Your web browser(s) & version:  Mozilla Firefox 33.1.1
Your Flash Player version:  Shockwave Flash 15.0.0.223
Explain your problem in step-by-step detail if possible:  When accessing the settings of a flash-player window, by right-clicking on the window and selecting "settings," or by simply opening up a webpage that automatically requests access to webcam settings, adobe flash-player will invariably crash.  Sometimes, this crash does not happen immediately and I'm allowed to access some of the settings, and other times I'm not.   This seems to be coorelated with adobe flash player accesssing my webcam.
A direct link to a page that demonstrates the problem:  An example of a page that allow me to access some of the settings before crashing:  The Pituitary Gland: Anatomy, Circulation, Hormones, and More! - YouTube An example of a page that crashes upon accessing the settings at all Twitch and an example of a page that crashes simply upon loading due to requesting access to settings Omegle: Talk to strangers!

Firefox will hang if you try to open the right-click context menu on Flash Player in Windows 8.1.  It's a known issue.  It's unclear at the moment whether its our bug or Mozilla's.  The bug is assigned to a developer for investigation in the Flash Player 16 timeframe.  Firefox is killing the Flash process, which causes the crashed plug-in dialog to be displayed, but it's really a hang, and the player is terminated safely.
In the meantime, you'll need to use Chrome or Internet Explorer as workaround.

  • What are the possible reasons for adobe flash player crashing constantly?

I utilize mixcloud, soundcloud, and podomatic on a daily basis, and recently have been having problems getting these three to play.  I'm not certain if there is a clash between the various plug-ins within my mozilla firefox browser.  The error messages that I have been receiving sometimes acknowledge the problem as a adobe flash player error, a shockwave flash player error, and sometimes as a flash blocker being enable in my browser, which keeps me from receiving any audio playback and the music from downloading onto the page. I'm constantly being asked to reload the page, or request a crash report. Has anyone encounter this problem?  Help!

Uninstall BOTH Flash Player and Shockwave using the Control panel.
Reinstall both using Flash Player Plug-in (All other browsers)
    and http://get.adobe.com/shockwave/
    Reboot
    In Firefox, click Tools>Addons
Check to be sure BOTH plugins are enabled and the LATEST version

    This is my problem:
The newest flash player crashes everytime I open certain web pages like failblog or tinychat which requires a webcam
I'm not sure what is causing it but it's only when i'm on those webpages that it crashes...
I can go on youtube kongregate steam and I can play tons of games the only thing I cant do is go on certain websites that messes with the newest version of flash for some reason...
I can use ANY other version of adobe flash and it won't crash at all but the problem with using the older versions is that I can't use my webcam on certain sites.
Will there be another update release for adobe flash that will fix this problem? The previous version was fine I don't know what was changed but will it get fixed?
And yes I have also been into the error logs but it doesn't show anything and the codes that it does show, people don't know what the hell it means lol just a bunch of binary number like data...I could post that but I doubt it would be of any help it's just a few short lines of numbers on each crash...I have purposely crashed my computer about 2 times to check if error logs popup and to see what is crashing the flash player but nothing changes in the crash log..
So to sum my problems up into a short paragraph....newest flash player crashes my computer when I go on webcam/webchat/certain websites with flash videos on it, also if I right click and try to tamper with the settings it also crashes my computer...I would like to know if there's a possible fix for this or will there be another update released anytime soon?
Please help and thank you for all future responses I will continue to use older versions of flash player till this problem is resolved, also on my newer i-7 620 processor 5850 ati laptop it crashes but rarely although I can use my webcam on msn on that computer but this is one has problems....

Sorry I wasn't able to respond for a while I work two jobs so I   really don't have time for this although I would still like to get this   solved very much.
In the event viewer all it says is that there was an unexpected shut down.
I  have checked and updated everything on both computers I tried to   disable hardware acceleration and that still didn't change anything.
Sometimes  when I try to just right click on a flash player and change  the  settings it crashes, if I try to load certain pages it crashes, if I   try to use a webcam chat on a webcam site it crashes. Though I can   still view other people's webcams in chat ex: tinychat I could be in   there chatting away with some friends from across country and nothing   will happen until I click webcam and flash player asks to allow, it  will  crash if I try to right click anywhere and that little flash  settings  popup it crashes.
All of this happens when I use the most  current version of flash  player any other previous version will not  crash when doing any of this  although I can't use my webcam since the  website is running an updated  version which is why I would like to get  this problem fixed.
The new firefox update didn't help  at all it still just freezes.  There is no blue screen, no crash error  report, no event log. The event  viewer just says it was shut down  unexpectedly.
I also tried uninstalling all webcam  applications unplugging my  webcam and that didn't affect it at all.  I've done everything that  people have been doing on here to solve there  problems, I used the  search button and tried options from various  threads but none work for  me.
I can do everything  normally that requires flash player like play  games, watch videos, and  other stuff but it just crashes when I do those  certain things as  stated above. It's weird that there is no log, no  anything just a  freeze and I can't do anything to the computer i've  tried letting it  sit for about 15 minutes but it didn't respond. I used  ctrl alt del  after a while, alt tab, alt f4, holding down certain keys,  holding the  power button in for a while and nothing will happen. It just  sits  frozen untill I unplug it.
Is there anything I can do to get an error log of the crash since event viewer isn't working?

  • Adobe Flash Player crashes in all browsers

    Hi,
I have had issues with playing videos before. They would constantly freeze (while the sound continued), it was like I was watching stop motion videos all the time. This was a recent problem that started happening within the last month or so. I got really fed up with it so I looked for a fix for it on google. The result of that search was: I was told the videos might be freezing so often because of the fact that I had two adobe flash players in operation on google chrome. I was told I had to try turning one off in order to get the player to work properly. I turned off one then the other and then both to no avail.
    BUT
then the flash player refused to work on ANY video. I figured it might just be Chrome but it happened in Firefox too. (I'm afraid to update internet explorer because I don't want it to not work there). I keep getting the "shockwave player crashed" error message in Chrome and the equivalent in Firefox. I tried uninstalling and then reinstalling adobe but that did nothing.
My operating system is Windows Vista 32bit, I used both Firefox and Chrome web browsers both with the latest versions, I have the latest version of the adobe flash player.
At this point in time I can't get any site that runs on Adobe flash player to work and no videos that run on adobe flash player work. My problem is officially a whole lot worse.
    HELP!!!!!!!!

I'm having the exact same problem.
Until today, I haven't had any problems with flash, and then, this morning, I turned on my computer, went to youtube.com and the page almost immediately froze.  A message popped up saying that flash had become unresponsive and asked if I wanted to close it.
It does this on any website that tries to load flash content.  I've tried both Chrome and IE.  I'm running Win7 Home Premium 64-bit on a Compaq Presario CQ5300Y PC.
Everything is completely up to date.
    UPDATE:
Last night I ran a virus scan.  3 viruses were found so I quarantined them.  I turned off my computer for a couple of minutes and when I turned it back on, everything had been fixed.  Not only is flash working again, a problem I was having with Skype is also fixed.  So if anyone else is having this problem you might want to do a virus scan.

  • Adobe flash player crashes or hangs!

Ok, so whilst using Firefox, lately adobe flash player has been crashing upon opening a YouTube video. This could be when i click a video and the new page opens and freezes, or when I actually get to the video but it then crashes. Alongside this, sometimes the videos are delayed to start, as in the video starts bufferng but doesn't actually start playing until later.
I've tried many proposed solutions but none seem to have worked
    (Tried:
    New profile
    Clean Install
    Clear cache,cookies, etc..
    Disable plugins
    Addons (video without flash, etc...)
Protected mode (for FF and Flash)
Virus scans (had nothing bad that was scanned)
    Disable/ Enable hardware acceleration
Updating Flash (i'm using the latest version... 15.0.0.233)
Alongside this, i've tried using Chrome which also gives similar results, crash, hanging or the video delay at the start.
    What could be wrong?
Heres a crash report i submitted (the latest one)
    https://crash-stats.mozilla.com/report/index/a34c35d8-0588-4dd1-8ae9-7e0412141122

disabling flash player seems to stop the problem (should do in theory, anyway). I've disabled it and haven't had any freezes or hangs ( as it should be expected) but videos still delay a bit before they actually play, they stream and stuff but just doesn't play instantly. could this be down to my internet (im using WiFi). i assume by disabling the flash, youtube is using html5? or this other plugin i have called "shockwave for director 12.1.4.154". either way, i'm glad it doesn't crash and freeze, but getting rid of that strange delay before the video starts would be amazing.
all the plugins i have on FF.
