  • Adobe Flash Player doesn't install

    Hi there!
I couldn't watch any videos on youtube (the screen remained white, where the video had to be).
So, I uninstalled Adobe Flash Player, and then I wanted to install it again. But that didn't work out, every time I tried to download it, I got only the Download manager, but not the Flash Player. I got the message "firefox, getplusadobe..error.."written" 0x0000000".When I installed it manually, I couldn't find it back on my computer, very strange.
Now, I tried it also with IE, and then I got the Download manager, and then a flash of the installation program of the flash player, but it was gone within one second.
Is there anything I can do?
    Eloise

Hi K M, Well then if it was Firefox asking or telling you that you needed a plugin, then it still could have been that SWF that wasn't enabled. Here is how I look at this: I think the websites are looking for that browser SWF to be enabled. Clearly they are not looking at the Flash files that 9 times out of 10 are already Installed. If they were they would see them, right? No, they are detecting that SWF plugin or the ActiveX Control and not "detecting" it since it is not Enabled, they are saying the user has a missing "plugin". Users that use IE, most of the time they are told to update their Flash Player, when again the website is not detecting that ActiveX Control since it is disabled.
Since neither one of us can ask Mozilla Firefox or Microsoft, we can just keep our opinions:-) Maybe someone with more Tech experience will come along that can say.
I don't know how long you have used FF, but ever since vs 3.6.4, 3.6.6, 3.6.7 and 3.6.8 there have been problems with those versions of FF and Flash Player 10.0 and now the 10.1. I know what some have been. Now that FF vs 3.6.9 is out I am hoping that will resolve some of the issues. Have not had time to check what this latest versions is about tho.
By the way, and I hate to ask, but do you have SWF vs 10.1.82.76 in the plugins and is it Enabled? LOL
And do you have the correct FP files for FF in the folder? If so, can you not see the animation at that test site? I know that the FF site uses that DLM(download manager). Check in your add ons, plugins and extensions and see if you have a get_atlcom Class or a getplus or a DLM Control. You don't want any of them.
    Let me know.
    Thanks,

    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened
    == don't know

What does the Adobe test page say?
    http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
See [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] and [[Troubleshooting plugins]]
If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the ''Safe mode'' start window.
You have to close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (on Mac: "Firefox > Quit")

  • The latest version of Adobe Flash Player doesn't work on my Mac

The latest version of Adobe Flash Player doesn't work on my Mac?
    What is the solution?

Download and install a version compatible to whatever cat flavor you have on the computer.

Maybe Flash 11 is too big and you need to stay on Flash 10.3

  • Adobe Flash Player says not installed when it is.

Adobe Flash Player shows as installed on the primary Admin account (and works there) all other Admin and regular user accounts say it isn't installed.
I have tried installing as various users and Administrator status, but I get the same response.
    "Install Successful"
    "Adobe Flash Player not Installed"
I am new to MAC, but can't fathom how this could be Apples fault. Unfortunately, Adobe support requires Adobe Flash Player to access help content.

To find the folder I went to Finder > Library > Internet Plug-ins.
The folder is empty and says 0 files. I am not currently on an Admin log-in, but I'm used to files showing regardless. When installing, I am asked for the Admin account and log in info before the file will load.
I downloaded the latest flash player from Adobe this morning.
Virtual Drive: What I am used to being an installation file in Windows shows up as a disk drive icon on my desktop. I have to "eject disk" to get rid of it. I thought it was just a "MAC" thing. Other software loaded this way, but also had me drag an icon to the Applications folder. Adobe does not.
I am starting to wonder if there is a file sharing issue that isn't allowing me to see some software. I noticed I also do not see data in 'Public' when I know I added pictures there in another account. I can't remember changing any settings on my MBA. I have only had it a month and have been afraid of messing up my first MAC.
    Thanks for staying with this.

  • Adobe Flash Player 10 when installed closes the whole computer as soon as it is selected to 'play' a video clip from U Tube or any other source, I have uninstalled it and the problem goes away but I cannot play the clip.any answers?

Adobe Flash Player 10, when installed, closes the whole computer when it is used to play any clip from U Tube or other source. I uninstalled it and there was no further trouble but, of course, I cannot view the clip. If I reinstall it the same problem persists. I have contacted my 'computer guru' but his comment is that many of his clients have the same problem but it appears to be a problem with Adobe however many other friends have put in the version 10 Flash Player and have no problems. I do not appear to have any other problems with the computer such as viruses etc and it is scanned very day for such items. I would appreciate any advice you can give as it is very annoying, thanks, RAB

    Me too!
On both IE8 and Firefox. Win 7 32 bit on IBM T42 - 1GB ram.
Old laptop I know but the 10.1.x.x Flash Players worked just fine. Problem started with 10.2.152.26 flash player.
Now BBC TV live and iPlayer work just fine, however YouTube does not - audio but no video. Just a black rectangle where the video should be.
Right click to get the menu and "settings" is greyed out. However select the pop-out option and the video plays. Right click on the pop-out and "settings" is available. So deselect "enable hardware acceleration", close the pop-out and refresh the window (F5) and now YouTube videos play. Switch hardware acceleration back on and now they don't.
This video works fine with hardware acceleration enabled. http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/features/video/h264/
    These also work. http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flashplayer/stagevideo.html
Something broken in 10.2, I think.

  • Adobe Flash Player won't install into Firefox, even when using the offline installer, and downloading it through Firefox

Ever since the latest update of the Adobe Flash Player, I think it came out this week.
I can't seem to get it to work with Firefox, I have downloaded the installer, it installs successfully, then I check in Firefox to see if it works. It says that I need to install it?!?! I have tried the offline installer of the Adobe Flash Player, I also tried installing it through Firefox (when you click "Install missing plugins"). That just fails instantly.
I posted on the Adobe Forums, but no luck.
I am getting frustrated with this! I have never had problems with installing the Flash Player, and I didn't install this version any different from the previous versions. Flash Player was working well until the latest update of Flash Player was released.
If I go to C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash, it shows all the Flash Player files, but it's not showing up in the Firefox addon manager, and not working on YouTube, or any other Flash Player sections of sites.
    I installed the 64-bit version, because I have a 64-bit Windows.
It works on IE, but not on Firefox.
It seems like it installs fine, but then it doesn't looks like it "installs" it into Firefox. Or whatever...
Also, I have tried uninstalling it with the Adobe 64-bit Uninstaller, restarting my PC after uninstalling, then install the 64-bit Flash Player for Firefox... doesn't work.
I have done EVERYTHING I can do to try and get it to work, no luck...
Please, any help with be appreciated!

Where can I find direct downloads of Flash Player 11 for Windows or Macintosh?

  • Ever since upgrading to Mavericks, Adobe Flash Player doesn't work.

I upgraded from Snow Leopard to Mavericks recently and since then, sites do not recognize that I have Adobe Flash Player installed at all. I currently have the most updated version: "Plug-in version 11.9.900.170 is installed." I noticed this when family and friends sent me e-cards. I go to the sites to view them and it tells me I need to download Adobe Flash Player.
I have uninstalled it twice and downloaded it twice. Installation is always successful and complete but when I test it to view an e-card sent to me from a reliable site, it still states that I need to install it to view the card. I HAVE IT!! lol  I don't understand why the sites are not recognizing it on my computer.
I've tested it out on both Safari and Firefox and it doesn't work on either. Safari is 7.0.1 (current).
Can anyone help me fix this? Troubleshooting on Adobe Flash Player basically tells me to uninstall and re-install. Still doesn't help. ~sigh~
Thanks in advance for any help!

If you're sure you've installed the latest version of Flash, take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. After each step, relaunch Safari and test. For a "missing plug-in" error, start with Step 5.
    Step 1
If you're only having trouble with YouTube videos, sign in to your YouTube account and load this page. You may see a link with the text "Leave the HTML5 Trial." If so, click that link.
    Step 2
If you're getting a "blocked plug-in" error, then from the menu bar select
     ▹ System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced
and click Check Now. Quit and relaunch your browser.
    Step 3
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    /Library/Internet Plug-Ins
Right-click or control-click the highlighted text and select
    Services ▹ Open
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open. Delete the following item, or anything with a similar name, if present:
    Flash Player (failing).plugin
You may be prompted for your login password.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combinationcommand-C. In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar, paste into the box that opens (command-V). You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.
    Step 4
Re-download and reinstall Flash. Download it from the domain "get.adobe.com". Don't click a link from any other website, including this one, because you can't trust links. They may be an attempt to trick you into installing malware masquerading as Flash. Type the address into the browser window. Never download a Flash update from anywhere else.
    Step 5
If you get a "missing plug-in" error, select
    Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Security
from the Safari menu bar and check the box marked
    Allow (or Enable) plug-ins
    Then click the button marked
    Manage Website Settings...
if present and make sure that the website is not blocked for Flash.
    Step 6
    Select
    Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Extensions
from the Safari menu bar. If any extensions are installed, disable them.
    Step 7
In the Safari preference window, select
Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data
    Close the window. Then select
     ▹ System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced
and click Delete All. Close the preference pane.

  • Adobe Flash Player won't install on Firefox

When I attempt to install 32-bit Adobe Flash Player 11.1.102.55 onto my Firefox (I use Windows Vista), it will not download and simply stops at 95%. I wait for 30 minutes, and it still doesn't download, so I close it. I would please like help. Thank you for responding to and/or reading this.

Adobe Flash Player updates available for OS X on February 4, 2014 - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5655 - "Adobe Flash Player is out of date"
Make sure you follow the directions.  Simply downloading files from Adobe doesn't actually install them on your computer.
Flashplayer is third party software, not Apple's.  Don't expect it to be on a new computer.

Locate and click on the Mac OS X (intel)  Download DMG Installer.  User Finder to open your downloads folder. Locate "install_flash_player_16_osx.dmg"  This file should be 15.6 MB with a Feb 3 date.  Double click on the file to install.
