32-bit programs are normally found in the x86 folder.  You can tell which version you're running by clicking "Help" and selecting About Internet Explorer.  The 64-bit version will say so.  The 32-bit version just has the version number.  Don't fault Microsoft for the problem.  The fact is that Adobe has failed to provide 64-bit versions of Flash player.  They are the ones who own the player and the ones who must provide updates.  Personally I think the fact that they haven't yet come up with 64-bit versions doesn't speak very well of Adobe's support for their products.

But how many applications do I have to search, trial and if at all successful install for use because of problems of such applications of Windows?

As we have reviewed in other threads on the same topic. Internet Explorer for Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 make use of separate management and content processes which on the desktop in a 64 bit environment are 64 bit and 32 bit respectively.
This is explained here on the IEInternals blog.
In most scenarios, the multiple processes are entirely transparent to the browsing experience. 32 bit addons continue to load and interact as expected with the content processes in which they are run and web scripts which detect browser architecture continue
to function, detecting a 32 bit browser.
In the Modern UI experience, the scenario is even more transparent as support for addons such as Flash and JavaScript are integrated into the 64 bit processes and updated through standard Windows Updates.

Internet Explorer 11 needs websites 'Trusted', add all pages in need of running addons, and rest Windows operating system handles.
Now I am listening to songs on Windows Media Player (T3 skin) from a website which earlier messaged Adobe Flash Player not installed refusing playing songs, but now running programs without installing Adobe Flash Player.

  • Adobe flash player for 64 bit system

I am having difficulities with down loading Adobe Flash Player. Adobe recognises my system as 64 bit but keeps downloading a 32 bit application that will not function on my computyer.

From where are you downloading Flash Player? From the following site? http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
What happens when you double-click the downloaded file to install it?
Could you please go to the following site and let us know what you see: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/find-version-flash-player.html

  • Switching my adobe flash player from 32 bits to a 64 bits system flash player

in my control panel under flashplayer is a 32 bit system download and in my systems display says it should have a 64 bit flashplayer system download , this is the reason why I cant play most of the internet games in which most will display that my adobe flash player needs updating and downloading . once I click on updates or down loads it will only download 50% then stops

There isn't a separate 32-bit or 64-bit Flash Player; the installer will automatically install both on a 64-bit system.
If you have troubles installing it, try the offline installer from http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/installation-problems-flash-player-windows.html#mai n-pars_header

  • Adobe Flash Player and trackpad scrolling issue?

I downloaded Flash Player to my mbp yesterday so I could watch some YouTube vids but after the d/l and install my trackpad scrolling became slightly jittery and skipped every so often. It does it on anyhing that is internet related only (safari, app store, itunes store etc.) It got annoying so I uninstalled Flash Player and no more skipping. Does anyone know a fix to the scroll skipping when Flash Player is installed? Maybe a setting that can be changed in flash system prefs? I would like to have it installed but if it is going to continue to make my scrolling skip then I guess I'll have to try to live with the skipping or just flat out live without flash on my mbp. I downloaded it directly from www.adobe.com and it was the latest version. I'm running ML on a mid 2012. Also could be an issue with ML being so new that adobe hasn't caught up yet?

I have similar problems.  It does seem to correlate to Flash running in Safari.  Works fine with Google Chrome but Chrome isn't as fast on OSX.

  • Why can't u use adobe flash player with iPad II ?

I use adobe flash player a good bit on my pc but I cannot download it from my ipadII why?

it's an Internet Browser add-on and apple doesn't allow any add-ons for the Safari Application due to security issues, certain add-ons could give potential spyware, virus, or other things to get your personal information.
Apple computers allow add-ons because typically people aren't using their computer to make emergency phone calls and things like that like they do from the mobile devices, so the computers can afford to get errors and crash while it would be a huge liability for Apple to allow the phone's potential harm.

Hello.  I have almost the same problem it seems.
I have reinstalled Adobe Flash Player (latest), used the Uninstaller from the website. It installs correctly.
Even tho it doesnt seem right when i check my programs installed.
Because before i had 2 Adobe Flash Player (i use CCleaner for this), I got the Adobe Flash Player Plugin 64-bit
and another at name Adobe Flash Player 11 something. And before i did the same thing as i did now.
But it should probably be only the Plugin one.
Anyways. When i try to watch Youtube videos, it won't use Flash Player at all. And Firefox says
i have Flash Player, and its up to date and everything.  But Youtube wont use it. Some do odd enough.
    Vimeo use it tho.
And now i came across this thread, and i tried that Profile thing you told. And it does work with a new profile.
With the same Youtube video (copy link from old Profile). So i guess it's the profile that's broken.
    Example of videos:
    Doesnt work:       http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M3PMCD7aMRI&hd=1
    Works just fine:   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tZ46Ot4_lLo&feature=related&hd=1
But how could i fix this then?  Cause i realy don't want to do a new profile and lose all the settings etc i have at the moment.
Would be realy awesome if you could provide a fix for me
I might have been unclear on some things, not that good at english at some points.
So just ask if you need more info and ill try to provide it for you.

  • API for video profile selection in Adobe Flash Player

Thanks to ActionScript 3, we are able to do programming with regard to Flash Player behavior,  extract info, etc.
Since now Adobe Flash Player supports adaptive bit rate video, I wonder if there is an API for Adobe Flash Player so that we can set a fixed bit rate for a video stream on runtime?
    Thank you for your help!

    Try to install it manually.
To begin with download these two files:
    * [http://download.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/current/uninstall_flash_player.exe uninstall_flash_player.exe]
    * [http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player.exe install_flash_player.exe]
These are direct download links so you won't see a page, merely the files which you see in the screenshot.
Close Firefox and then run the uninstaller even if you think you don't have it installed.
Next, reboot to remove the Registry entries.
When the system reboots to the desktop, run the installer. ''Do not open Firefox first though''.
Finally, go to http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ to test the installation.

  • Adobe flash player "Installation failed. Not enough permissions to write disk"

Hi there, my adobe flash player keeps on having issues. I downloaded the install file, open it and click install and it instantly fails and comes up with this message.
"Installation failed. Not enough permissions to write disk". Any ideas?

    I think 2 options:
    - try repair disk permissions
    - try to do a flash clean install (https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1267823)

  • Installation issue for Adobe Flash Player 11.8.800.175 (16.3 MB) for Windows 32-bit , English, MSIE

I have spent hours installing, deinstalling, and re-installing Adobe Flash Player 11.8.800.175.  My system is Windows 32-bit , English, MSIE.  I am told the installation is successful, then when I go to YouTube to verify, I still see a message,
"You need to upgrade your Adobe Flash Player to watch this video.
    Download it from Adobe."
I have gone to Safety->Tools->ActiveX Filtering and unchecked that box, deinstalled Flash, and reinstalled it.  No change.
I have gone to Internet->Internet Options->Security->Trusted Sites, and made sure Scripting is enabled, and did this for Internet and Local Internet as well.
I don't know what to do.  I have spent hours on this, and I don't know what else to do.  Suggestions welcome.  So is Tylenol.

    Did you enable the add-on: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/885448 ?

  • Adobe Flash Player does not work in Internet Explorer 10 on Microsoft Windows 8

I understand that Google Chrome and IE10 have their own automatic update system, however, any site requiring me to use adobe flash player to view videos does not work no matter what I try. I have:
Used the desktop version of IE versus that Start version and both provide me with the same message.
Tried uninstalling and then reinstalling but I receive an error message stating that Flash player is already installed and I know that it is not because I have unistalled it. I received this message: Installer encountered an error: 0x80248000
I even used Ccleaner to hopefully remove any files that were left behind.
I have gone to Tools, then compatibility settings, unchecked automatic update list from Microsoft. there are no websites on that list t remove.
I have double-checked that the flash player add-on is enabled.
I have also checked security settings and enabled Scripting for Java
I have also made sure that I disabled ActiveXFiltering.
Basically, I have tried to use Adobe's websites to figure out the issue at the following link: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/flash-player-issues-windows-8.html#main-pars_header _1
None of the tips fixed my issue.
I have Windows 8, recently upgraded from Windows 7. I have a 64-bit machine, when I tried, just in case I was wrong, to install 32-bit, I receive an error. I would greatly appreciate any help anyone may provide. Is there a customer service number by any chance for software we have not paid for but instead it comes with our computers? I really need to be able to use discussions and watch Teachertube, youtube, and other videos to complete grad schools assignments.
    Please help me!

It sounds like you might have additional software on your system that is interfering with Flash Player.  You mentioned that this is happening for both Chrome and Internet Explorer, correct?  I've got a similar system (Win 8 upgraded from 7, 64bit) and I've never had any problems.
I'd recommend trying to temporarily disable any security, antivirus, firewall software that you have running.  You might also want to try starting in Safe Mode with Networking enabled (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-8/windows-startup-settings-including-safe-mode) to see if Flash works once all utilities and services have been disabled.
Finally, do either of these links play video back?
