Adobe Flash Player failed to initalize error
Hello there - I'm so hoping someone can help me out. I am trying to download Adobe flash player and get an error message - "failed to initialize". I've tried deleting my old file and still no luck. I also tried to save it and then go to windows explorer to run the program but can't find it, even when I do a search. The funny thing is when I go into unintall programs, there's an incon for it. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. Can anyone help me out? I would really love to watch videos on youtube. :-) I'm running windows vista and using windows explorer 9. Thanks so much! JodiJ.
Came across this problem a few times...
Did you try deleting the actual files from the install directory manually? I think they are located in c:\windows\system32\macromed\flash
Also came across this... maybe helpful...
I don't know what web browsers you use, so my instructions are for both browser types (Internet Explorer, and other browsers like Firefox).
go to http://forums.adobe.com/thread/889580
download the installer for Internet Explorer and save it to disk;
if you use other browsers, then also download the other installer and save it to disk;
close all browser windows, then use Windows Explorer to run the installers you downloaded (install_flash_player_10_active_x.exe and possibly install_flash_player_10.exe).
If you still get errors
please give the exact error message you are getting
list (copy & paste) the contents of the FlashInstall.log file in C:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Flash -
various web sites stated that I needed to update adobe flash player. I clicked on link and followed instructions, then received the message "installation encountered errors - failed to initialize". So far, I have uninstalled previous versions of flash player and checked my plug ins. Noticed that Shockwave flash does not appear in my plug in list and adobe states that this needs to be active for their flash player.
I am on Windows XP and Firefox version 8.
Thanks.
Cameron CassidyYour above posted list of installed plugins doesn't show the Flash plugin for Firefox.
See:

You can get the Adobe Flash Player here:

* http://www.adobe.com/go/getflashplayer
Or download the Flash Player via this page: Troubleshoot Flash Player installation for Windows
*http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/191/tn_19166.html#main_Download_and_install_the_latest_Flash_Player_version
# Download and save the Flash installer for the Firefox browser to your desktop.
# Exit Firefox (File > Exit), you may need to verify that in the Task Manager (XP: Ctrl+Alt+Del, Vista: Shift+Ctrl+ESC, Processes tab)
# Start the Flash installer with a double-click on the desktop icon of the Flash installer.
* You may have to run the Flash installer as Administrator (right-click: Run as ...) to get access rights for installing the files and modifying the registry. -

Adobe Flash Player "Failed to initialize" Problem
I am running XP Pro SP3 on a Dell Dimension 4550 desktop, I cannot get Adobe flash player to install and cannot view a video in any of the browsers. I tried the usual steps, download the Flash player uninstaller, uninstall, remove all files from the FLASH folder e.t.c and doesn't work,, any fixes please?
You should be able to install the latest Flash Player 11.7 if you download and run the offline installer(s) from http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/installation-problems-flash-player-windows.html#mai n-pars_header (under the heading Progress bar hangs...).
If you rather install version 10.x you can find it on the archive page http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/archived-flash-player-versions.html -
Adobe Flash Player Fails to Play Videos
Hi,
Although I have repeatedly uninstalled and re-installed Adobe Flash Player, I continually get asked by various websites to load it as if it were not there.
Most video clips will not play with the exception of some YouTube videos which ask me to load AFP but then do actually play the video.
I am running Windows 7 64bit on an HP computer.
Can someone please give an old pensioner a clue as to a possible reason why AFP will not work on my machine?
Thanks and best regards, ChrisHi Mike,
No, I am running IE 9.0.8112.16421 (update 9.0.15).
I guess I should be upgrading, but to what?
Thanks for the replay.

Adobe Flash Player, will not work. Crashes EVERYTIME.
I'm not a huge computer person, so this explanation will suck:
Okay, I have a Toshiba laptop, OS is Windows and I use Mozilla Firefox as my browser.
About 3 days ago, I opened Youtube and tried to play a video, and it said I need to update Adobe. I updated it to version 10.3.183.7.
Now videos/games/moving pictures works. It just says, "Adobe Flash Player failed.".
I've tried it on Google Chrome, and Internet Explorer, and nothing works.
I'm constantly on Youtube, but this is a huge disappointment. I've always used Adobe Flash Player, and it has always worked, but now it isn't.
Before you go and start asking/telling me very technical things, please be aware I will have not a clue what you are saying.
Thanks for reading.Would you mind opening a new bug on this issue over at bugbase.adobe.com? Here's a post that describes the information we'll need and instructions for generating a crash log:

I receive the message "Error: Failed to register" at the end of attempting to reinstall Adobe Flash Player 11.5.502.135 (after a complete uninstall of all Adobe programs) on my older machine running Windows XP and the older browser IE 7. I have tried the offline download installer and my Google Chrome browser setting is "allow all sites to run Java". I allowed the program to run from my AVG firewall dialog box. Windows firewall did not ask. I am logged in as administrator. What should I do because some programs prompt me for this install in order for some functions to work correctly.

Adobe Flash Player 11.5.502.135 Active X failing
Adobe Flash Player 11.5.502.135 Active X failing through SCCM 2007. Tried to use uninstaller but that too is failing... i am trying to push this to 3500 machine but on 1700 machine Adobe flash player is not getting installed and the error message which we are getting is stated below, please suggest:
Error 1722.There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or package vendor. Action NewCustomAction1, location: C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\InstallAX_11_5_502_135.exe
Error 2753.The File 'InstallAX.exe' is not marked for installation. The two links (which I have asked the moderators to remove) do not actually go to image files, as they would appear to, but instead point to files that are identified by at least a few anti-virus engines as Windows malware. This is not a legitimate message.
Can you clarify where you are seeing this message? You say it appears every time you open a website... do you mean that it appears any time you open Safari, or every time you load a new page on any site you get a popup with that message, or what? If you could provide a screenshot of the message that would be exceptionally helpful.

Using a Windows 2012 RDS Environment, we have users connecting to a CPD website, and as part of the CPD they need to run a systems checker. When they run the systems checker they get the following error message: "Adobe Flash FAIL: Adobe Flash Player local storage settings incorrect. Module 'Resume' feature may not work on this computer". All users are connecting to this environment with Windows CE Clients,I have checked the setting on Adobe Flash and they seem correct but as each user has its own profile on the RDS session, is there something that I should be setting for each user. I have added the website to the trusted sites and it has made no difference. Any ideas
It sounds like what's happening is that Flash Player can't write or read from the local shared objects in the user's redirected home directory because we disallow traversing junctions in the broker process. This behavior was disabled to address a vulnerability identified in some of John Forshaw's research into the IE broker last year.
You can enable this behavior by adding the following setting to mms.cfg:
EnableInsecureJunctionBehavior=1
That said, you can probably gather from the name of the flag that we don't really recommend this approach, and disable this attack surface by default. There's some risk that a network attacker could craft content that abuses fundamental issues with how Windows handles Junctions to write to arbitrary locations.
Unfortunately, there's not a simple or easy workaround that I'm aware of (but it's been ages since I've administered a Windows domain) for this kind of NAS/SAN-backed terminal server environment where Flash is not able to access \Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Macromedia\Flash Player\ without traversing a junction. -
Adobe flash player starts download, then fails. help?!

I originally had adobe flash player, but i accidentally uninstalled it and now i'm having major trouble getting it back!
i would like to install the adobe flash player. so i visited the adobe homepage and chose the right version. after downloading, i opned the installation program. i closed all required program. but suddenly after it was starting with the download it said: installation failed (see below).
i'm sure that i chose the right version mac os x 10.4 to 10.5, then i have mac book 10.5.8 intel. (btw i also tried the newer version). i've also tried the download with safari and firefox.
thank you very much for your answers! i really need themGo to /Library/Internet Plug-Ins
Move the Flash Player.plugin to the Trash.
Now reinstall the plugin > http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/
Adobe suggests temporarily disabling anti virus software if you have that installed before downloading the plugin. -
Adobe Flash Player 10 failed to register
Hello, I don't know much about how Adobe Flash Player works or how to fix this issue. I have a XP Pro SP3 and my flash player worked fine when I first installed it. Then one day, I turned on my laptop and let it load and suddenly my flash player would not work. I then proceeded to uninstall and reinstall the player assuming that would help, however I was wrong. I then tried ridding my computer of all adobe products and was hoping to reinstall them right after rebooting. That was a great idea except excruciating problem, my computer WILL NOT allow me to uninstall Adobe Reader, or Adobe AIR.
When I do try to uninstall the programs, I get this message
" This application requires a version of Adobe AIR which cannot be found.
Please download the latest version of runtime from
http://www.adobe.com/go/getair ,
or contact the application author for an updated version. "
I also get a similar message when I try to uninstall Adobe Reader.
I would really appreciate some help with this as it is a major inconvienence for me.
Thank you in advance,
Cody518After going through my control panel and looking at my add/remove programs section, I currently have Adobe AIR, Adobe Download Manager, and Adobe Reader 9.3.1
I've also tried updating my adobe reader and I get an update failed notice saying
" Cannot establish a connection. Please try again later. "
I obviously have a internet connection, so why would this happen? -
I can't download Adobe Flash Player? It gets to 50% and fails, saying I must close 'Safari'. Safari is no open, yet it gets stuck repeatedly on this?
This is my first Mac and I'm not convinced of them.....nah, I just need a shove in the right direction.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank youIs this a problem with the DOWNLOAD or with the INSTALLATION? You should be able to download with Safari open but you do have to quit Safari in able to install. Try downloading the dmg file, restart with no apps open and then trying to install Flash Player.
