  • Adobe Flash Player, Google Chrome and Deskjet F4440

Every time that I attempt to open my HP Deskjet F4440, a dialog box opens stating that I cannot open the program unless I download Adobe Flash Player in Internet Explorer. First of all, I don't use Internet Explorer and, secondly, when I was last prompted to do the same action for another program  on my computer, I followed the prompt. However, when I did do as instructed, I began to have problems with my default browser, Google Chrome (OS: Windows 7). Chrome crashed repeatedly, and after many tries to troubleshoot it, I decided the course of action was to uninstall and re-install Chrome. It has been working without crashing for a week. Now I am once again receiving the same message to download Flash Player even though I had already done so previously. I cannot use my All-in-One Printer for a scanning project and I'm extremely frustrated. Upgrading the unit did nothing to resolve this issue. PLEASE HELP!!!

    Hi @rnkh,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I understand that every time that you attempt to open your HP Deskjet F4440, a dialog box opens stating that I cannot open the program unless I download Adobe Flash Player in Internet Explorer, and that you cannot scan. I am happy to help!
It is possible there could be a software conflict with Adobe. In order to know for sure I would suggest the following:
Uninstall the printer software. Uninstalling the Printer Software.
Clean boot the computer. How to perform a clean boot in Windows.
Re-install using the HP Printer Install Wizard for Windows.
If that does not resolve the issue, then I would recommend contacting Adobe Support.
    Hope this information helps!

  • Have adobe flash player on chrome but isn't working on firefox, cannot install it I get a message that I haven't got the permissions to do so.

I have flash player in google chrome but not in firefox. When I try to simply allow flash player in firefox it is not listed. I have the only account on my computer so I am the administrator yet it states I do not have sufficient permissions to install flashplayer although it is already on my computer. I will attach a .bmp screen shot of the error message, but this is what it says if you don't want to open a pic from someone you do not know. :)
"a required file (C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash\FlashPlayerUpdateService.exe:5) could not be written due to insufficient permissions.

I have tried with my antivirus (Avast free version) running and also with it disabled.

hello, please try the windows exe-installer for plugin based browser from https://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/distribution3.html and see if this works to install the adobe flash player. otherwise you'd have to contact adobe's support since that doesn't appear to be a problem directly related to a mozilla product...

I am trying to do hbogo and watch a movie and it keeps telling me that my google chrome settings are wrong and i need to fix adobe flash player. i cannot do this and cannot figure out what to do

Chrome (which I limit my use of to testing - because it uses so much processor and RAM) has its own Flash Player Plugin built in. Updating Chrome should update the plugin.
You can download the offline installer:
Flash Player Plug-in (All other browsers)
but you may need to do a "clean install" http://forums.adobe.com/thread/928315  to get it to work.

  • Problematic Adobe Flash Player in Chrome

My Adobe Flash player keeps crashing in my Google Chrome browser, which is really annoying. When I try to fix this, it says that Chrome has the latest version automatically installed already. My Windows Messenger also requires a later version of Flash Player. How do I fix this?
    Thank you.

  • Activating Adobe flash player in chrome

The only flash player showing up in chrome's plugins is chrome's own pepperflash
It has been working for a long time but just dissapeared, downloading again or updating (Adobe flash player) didn't solve anything.

    Hi Stef_Schraven,
Google has been planning to deprecate the NPAPI plug-in for a long time. According to this post Chromium Blog: The Final Countdown for NPAPI NPAPI plugins will be disabled by default in April 2015.  This post does contain instructions on overriding the default disabling of the plug-in.  If you have the latest version of Chrome (42) it's most likely why you're not seeing it there. More info here NPAPI deprecation: developer guide - The Chromium Projects and if you do an internet search for 'chrome npapi' you'll get lots more info on this.

  • Why does Chrome insist Adobe Flash Player is out of date, but I have the latest version?

I run Mac OSx 10.5.8. I am trying to use Chrome, but the Flash is not working on either Safari or Chrome. Chrome insists Adobe Flash is out of date
, but I have the latest version available to my OS.
I have tried uninstalling, disabling plugins, reinstalling and enabling.
I have tried updating via Adobe website over 10 times.
I have tried switches which just run the outdated plugins...
I have tried renaming the system plugin in the Library and pasting in Chrome package contents
I don't have two flash plugins in the chrome:plugins
This is the error message in the chrome:plugins
Flash - Version: 10.3.183.23 Download Critical Security Update
The link goes to the Adobe website to install version 10.3.183.23, which I already have.
    Please help?

The Flash version I have, 10.3, is the latest compatible with the Mac OSX 10.5.
Yes, it is indeed! Sorry I missed you're on OS X 10.5.8.
    I reinstalled Chrome...
Can you confirm it is version 21.0.1180.79? It's important you confirm you're at the latest version of Google Chrome too.
... and I have the same issue of the Flash player not automatically updating.
I would repeat myself... "available updates for Adobe Flash Player are automatically included in Chrome system updates".
Chrome automatically updates when new versions of Flash Player are available. The integrated Google Chrome Flash plug-in cannot be uninstalled using the Flash Player uninstaller. You can only enable or disable the integrated plug-in.
Therefore, as it's showing you're at the latest version 10.3.183.23, it would appear it is an issue 'internal' to Chrome's system updates; reason why I had referred you to their support, or alternativelly, post to their forums.
However, you can try Adobe's Help page (for Mac) here >
    http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/installation-problems-flash-player-mac.html
And alternativelly (Flash Player with Google Chrome) here >
    http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/flash-player-google-chrome.html
Regret couldn't do better for you but please confirm by return how it goes.
    Good Luck!

  • Adobe flash player 14 download problem

I have OS X 10.9.4 and Safari 7.0.6. When I try to download Adobe Flash Player Version 14 I get all the way to the download window.
It just sits there at 0 per cent, and eventually comes up with an error saying to start over. I've tried all of the instructions they have on
the Adobe site concerning Mac, but have been unable to download. This is on a Macbook circa 2010.
    Please Help
P.S. The version 14 automatically is downloaded with the Chrome browser so I'm able to use it there no problem.

Open System Preferences > Security & Privacy then select the General tab.
    Select:  Anywhere
If that area is grayed out, click the padlock icon. You may be prompted for your admin password.
Then download Flash  >  Adobe - Install Adobe Flash Player
After Flash is installed, make sure to go back to System Preferences > Security & Privacy > General then select:  Mac App Store and identified developers
    That helps to prevent malware.
Chrome works because Flash updates are downloaded automatically for Chrome >  http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/flash-player-google-chrome.html

  • Adobe Flash Player is out of date (GOOGLE CHROME) it isn't...

    Hello!
I am not very computer savvy so bare with me, but if anyone can help me I would be very grateful.
I am using Google Chrome web browser (I have IE and FF but for some reason they are sooo slow). Everytime I visit a page that uses Flash (every page in the world almost) I get this ERROR message...
(jigsaw puzzle logo) Adobe Flash Player was blocked because it is out of date.                                 Two boxes... 'Run this time' + Update plug-in
I clicked update and it took me to the Adobe Flash page. It says it requires a MAC OS 10.6 or higher
My MAC is an OS 10.5.8
SO... I found the version for this OS and downloaded/installed.
Restarted my computer, launched Chrome and what d'ya know, I got the same message!!!
I don't know what I need to do now. I tried lower versions, still not working and I can't upgrade to Lion as this is a 10.5 (great!)
My processor is a 2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
    Mem 2GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM
    Just incase that helps.
If anyone knows how to fix this or what I need to buy to make it work I would very much appreciate the advice!
    Thank you
OH I also just found on the Chrome:Plugins page that beside the FLASH note it says:
Flash - Version: 10.3.183.29 Download Critical Security Update
    Shockwave Flash 10.3 r183
When I click on download critical... it downloads and still doesn't work.

  • I recently installed Java 6 update 33, and adobe flash player 11 plugin, and now can't play any videos from any website in Mozilla, but Google Chrome works.

Cannot play any video from any website in Mozilla after installing Java 6 update 33, and adobe flash player 11 plugin. However, I can play videos from Google Chrome and also from Internet Explorer. For example, when I'm trying to play a you tube video in Mozilla, a black screen comes up with following error message: "An error has occurred. Please try again later."
(This is like the Wizard of Oz -- when the man comes to the little window in the door and says to Dorothy, "Come back tomorrow." )

This may be caused by a recent Flash 11.3 update.
