Adobe Flash Player Help Please !!

Greetings,
Here is the story.  I just bought a new iMac running 10.83.  The problem I'm having is that I cannot watch any of the news site videos because they all ask for Adobe Flash Player.  I have downloaded Adobe and am not getting any results.  The video starts to run, but then either stops and/or looses the sound. Examples of sites are loacal news, CNN and Weather Channel.  Nothing seems to work.
This has become really frustrated.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Just do not understand why I'm not able to get this up and going.
Thanks,
Ted

Two bugs, one affecting Apple's Mac platform and another attacking Microsoft's Windows, exploit certain Flash player vulnerabilities to install malware onto users' systems, reports ArsTechnica. While users of other operating systems like Linux have yet to report attacks, Adobe's advisory notes the exploit affects all platforms.
Designated as CVE-2013-0634, the first vulnerability targets the Safari and Firefox Web browsers running on OS X, and is also being used as a trojan to deploy Microsoft Word documents containing malware. For Mac users, the flaw affects Adobe Flash Player version 11.5.502.146 or earlier.
On March 1 Apple again blocked Flash Player for Lion and Mountain Lion:
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5660
The Adobe Flash patch can be found on Adobe’s website, and users can visit this page to check if their software is the most curent version.
You should uninstall any previous version first, and repair permissions after installing the new version.
If you still get a ‘plug-ins blocked’ message:

Really cannot understand why I'm finding all this difficulty now to install on my Samsung S4 device which I bought very recently! Adobe no longer supports Flash on Android. Adobe doesn't recommend this (this versions have vulnerabilities) but if you really want it, you can try installing an old version from their archives - http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/archived-flash-player-versions.html#Flash%20Player%20archives (you'll have to scroll down to find the Android versions).

  • Hello- I recently upgraded to OS Mountain Lion on my iMac and cannot download the most current version of Adobe Flash Player.  Please help!

Hello- I recently upgraded to OS Mountain Lion on my iMac and cannot download the most current version of Adobe Flash Player.  I even uninstalled the old Flash version but this did not resolve the issue.  Could somebody please assist?  Thank you.

Hello- I was able to resolve the issue after clicking on the top right hand corner that shows the recent downloads (it has that down arrow).  I realized that I had tried downloading the Adobe Flash Player Install Manager about 7 times, but still needed to click on the file and install!  So I erased all the duplicates and installed one of the Flash Player Install Managers and it finally worked!  Yay!

  • Issue with Adobe Flash Player- Help

I used to be able to use my webcam! I downloaded the Adobe Flash Player and now I can't use it anywhere!
I am unable to see the Privacy pop-up allowing me to Allow or Deny access to my camera & microphone.
Then when I get to the settings on one site, I see only 3 tabs: Display, Microphone & Camera.
    Help?
I have it clicked on my built in iSight.
Before I downloaded the it I clicked on USB Video Class Video and it worked. Now that doesn't even show up!

Since it is nothing to do with FMS and looks like more of a flash player issue - it would be good if you post your query here : http://forums.adobe.com/community/webplayers/flash_player

  • Can't download free Adobe Flash Player - Help

I tried to download free Adobe Flash Player or Adobe Reader (is the same) and appears in the screen the following message:
"GetPlus+(R) The specified software requires a recent version of windows" and I can't proceed with instalation. I have already done a virus verification with Kasperky and it's OK. I have Windows XP (SP3) and Internet Explorer 7.
Thank you very much for your help!

Hi, Don't use that DLM(download manager) since it can cause a problem.
Download and SAVE to your Desktop the Uninstaller:
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html
Download and SAVE to your Desktop the Installer for IE- use the EXE Installer
    http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/fp_distribution3.html
Close all browser windows, you only want to be looking at your Desktop.
Disable any messenger services, as yahoo, msn, etc in the system tray(area near the clock)
Disable any Realtime Anti-Virus until you have finished Uninstalling and Installing Flash Player
Be sure to use the Administrator Account.
Run the Uninstaller and when finished, Reboot(restart) your computer.
Check to make sure the Anti-Virus is still Disabled
Run the Installer for IE,  and when finished, Reboot.
    Re-enable your Anti-Virus
Then go to this test site and test each browser:
    http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/
You may want to print these instructions to make it easier to follow. If you have any questions, let me know.

  • Adobe flash player help needed urgently!

cannot locate adobe flash player (AFP) after installing in windows 7, ie11.. wanted to open an animation and it suggested installing AFP... can anyone help urgently?

Launch Internet Explorer and navigate to http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/find-version-flash-player.html
If you see an animation playing, then Flash Player is enabled.
If you don’t see an animation playing, then Flash Player is not enabled. In that case, click on the Tools icon in the top right corner of Internet Explorer. (The icon looks like a cogwheel.)
In the drop-down menu which appears, click Manage Add-Ons.
In the dialog which appears, select Toolbars and Extensions.
In the list of Add-ons, look for “Shockwave Flash Object” – which is another name for Flash Player.
In the Status column, check to see whether Shockwave Flash Object is Disabled. If it is, click the row for Shockwave Flash Object to highlight it.
In the bottom right corner of the Manage Add-ons dialog, click the Enable button.
    Close the Manage Add-ons dialog.
Click Refresh to reload the webpage. If you see the animation playing this time, then Flash Player has been successfully enabled.

  • I can't install Adobe Flash Player HELP!

I just got my MacBook Pro and I'm trying to install Adobe Flash Player but there seems to be a problem and I dont know what it is, it starts installing and it says it is fully installed but when I open youtube it says I need to download it. Does someone know whats wrong

If you're sure you've installed the latest version of Flash, take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. After each step, relaunch Safari and test. For a "missing plug-in" error, start with Step 5.
    Step 1
If you're only having trouble with YouTube videos, sign in to your YouTube account and load this page. You may see a link with the text "Leave the HTML5 Trial." If so, click that link.
    Step 2
If you're getting a "blocked plug-in" error, then from the menu bar select
     ▹ System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced
and click Check Now. Quit and relaunch your browser.
    Step 3
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    /Library/Internet Plug-Ins
Right-click or control-click the highlighted text and select
    Services ▹ Open
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open. Delete the following item, or anything with a similar name, if present:
    Flash Player (failing).plugin
You may be prompted for your login password.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combinationcommand-C. In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar, paste into the box that opens (command-V). You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.
    Step 4
Re-download and reinstall Flash. Download it from the domain "get.adobe.com". Don't click a link from any other website, including this one, because you can't trust links. They may be an attempt to trick you into installing malware masquerading as Flash. Type the address into the browser window. Never download a Flash update from anywhere else.
    Step 5
If you get a "missing plug-in" error, select
    Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Security
from the Safari menu bar and check the box marked
    Allow (or Enable) plug-ins
    Then click the button marked
    Manage Website Settings...
if present and make sure that the website is not blocked for Flash.
    Step 6
    Select
    Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Extensions
from the Safari menu bar. If any extensions are installed, disable them.
    Step 7
In the Safari preference window, select
Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data
    Close the window. Then select
     ▹ System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced
and click Delete All. Close the preference pane.

  • Need to install an update for Adobe Flash Player, Help?

How do I install an update for an Adobe Flash Player on my Mac Mini?

Installing the Flash Update on your Mac
This is what I had to do to install it; I'm using OS X 10.9 Mavericks; you may get different results if you're still using Leopard, Snow Leopard, Lion, or Mountain Lion (earlier OSs)
I encourage you to do backup your system, download and install the Free, most current operating system for Macs, Mavericks OS X 9.
At some point, Adobe Flash will offer you the opportunity to update itself. It's a good idea, to do so.
Step 1 will be to download the Update .dmg file, which installs the update.
It will probably be in your Downloads folder; double click on it.
When the folder presents itself in a new Finder window, double-click on it.
At some point in the Install, it will pop up a notice to Shut Down Safari/Opera/Chrome/Firefox (all Browsers).  That's easy.
It will also likely insist that you shut down a Dashboard Client.  Only the Dashboard Client won't show when you try Force Quit (Option-Command-Escape).
Here's what I had to do, to make it work; there may be a more efficient way, but I didn't find it.
Here's what worked for me, and I'm going to spell it all out the Dummy way, 'cause that's how I need things done for me! : )
Click on an empty space on the Desktop to activate Finder. In the Finder Menu (top) click on the GO tab (top menu) and scroll down to Utilities. Click on the Activity Monitor. In the CPU tab (any of them will work), Click onDock and, holding the Command button (Splat) next to the Space Bar, click on all incidents of Dashboard Client.  They're easy to find-- they all have a little grey folder icon to the left of them.
Click on VIEW in the top menu, scroll down to Select Processes, and click on that. The window will simplify and isolate, showing only the selected processes that are keeping you from installing the Flash update.
Then click on the big red stop sign at the top (Quit Process).... (This didn't work for me. No 'Stop' sign.)
Alternately, once you've 'collected' the appropriate files, click on and select each one individually, go up to View in the top menu, scroll down to Quit Process. After a brief pause, it will quit. Quit all of the processes selected.
Make sure everything else is closed and then try to install the Flash Player again. It should work! (Fingers crossed!)
'Always a good idea to Reboot, afterwards, and you should be good to go.

  • Adobe Flash Player help

I have a Powerbook G4 running on Mac OS X 10.4.11 and have been trying to update our flash player with no luck whatsoever. What aren't we doing right? Help!

A few golden rules when dealing with Flash Player.
Always run the appropriate uninstaller before trying to install a new version.
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/909/cpsid_90906.html
    Repair Permissions.
Make sure you then choose the right version of Flash Player.
The Adobe site  here http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/142/tn_14266.html may detect the version you need and offer the download directly otherwise work through the archived versions until you find the appropriate one - 10.1.102.64
    Hopefully you will be successful.
Then  once installed - Repair Permissions again.

  • Adobe Flash Player and Shockwave crashing has disabled my computer

I have downloaded a second flash player and it is still the same. Firefox has been crashing daily for a few weeks. I noticed that your adblocker plus was updated 6/4. Since then I have almost no use of firefox, because the Adobe flash player 13.0.r0 and Shockwave crash notices are constantly popping up. Could that update have something to do with why the flash players are not working? Below are an example of the crash details.
Thanks for the help. I prefer your browser, but this has made it non-functioning.
In trying to fix it, a window came up that asked would I like to change it back to a previous working image, which was Windows XP. Although this computer is Windows 7, I clicked the box yes, and said I wanted it to work like Windows XP. I see in your Operating System below, that it reads Windows Xp, but this computer is actually Windows 7. I can't find that menu to change unclick and change it back, so that it is working as Windows 7.

AdBlock Plus isn't maintained or connected to Mozilla as they didn't develop it. ABP and Flash don't interfere with each other except on same cases that ABP blocks Flash content.
You can Try disabling Hardware Acceleration. <br>
#Go to this [http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/video-playback-issues.html#main_Solve_video_playback_issues Adobe Flash Player Help page].

If that doesn't work try Try to disable Protected Mode in Flash 11.3 and above by adding the line ProtectedMode=0 to the Flash "mms.cfg" file located in one of these locations: [46]
    (Windows 32bit) C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash
    (Windows 64bit) C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash
For example, on a Windows 7 64-bit system, open the C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash folder, copy the file "mms.cfg" to the desktop, open it in Notepad, add a new line <code>ProtectedMode=0 </code> and then close Notepad, saving your changes. Next, go back to the C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash folder, rename the original file to "mms.cfgBAK" (to save it as a backup) and then drag and drop in the modified "mms.cfg" file from the desktop. [47] [48] [49]
Note: To re-enable Flash Protected Mode, either restore a backup of the original mms.cfg file, if you saved one, or else re-edit the mms.cfg file to remove the <code>ProtectedMode=0 l</code> line you added. Updating Flash Player or installing a newer version does not automatically re-enable Protected Mode
Flash has been a pain since day 1 and Mozilla is currently working to replace Flash with Shumway. Unfortunately it's in the Nightly channel, doesn't come activated automatically and it isn't quite ready for normal usage. I just tested Nightly yesterday with Shumway and it wouldn't play.

Hi, did you use the Adobe Uninstaller first from here: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html
Read over the instructions and make sure to follow them. You might also read the troubleshooting instructions also.

Running as Administrator, security settings, Firewalls and anti-virus programs all have a bearing on installing Flash Player, so be sure to read the information contained in the above links.
