  • Adobe Flash Player was blocked because it is out of date - HELP

I have installed the new Flash player (11.6.602.171) about a dozen times. I have Windows 7 (64 bit).
I cannot view any videos that require Flash Player (eg on Facebook or YouTube or a YouTube embedded video)
I see this message (Flash Player was blocked because it is out of date)  on IE 9 and Chrome and Firefox. Firefox even asked me to enable Flash Player which I did - but to no avail.)
When I go to http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/find-version-flash-player.html I can see the movie and the box verifies my installation.
I have checked Manage Addons and Shockwave Flash Object is Enabled.
    ActiveX Filtering is unchecked.
I have tried installing with my virus protection turned off.
I have closed all my browser windows during installation.
I have rebooted my computer after installation.
    I have updated Java.
    My Microsoft updates are up-to-date.
    Nothing works.
    Please help!

    Hi Marcia,
If all browsers are blocked (IE, Chrome and Firefox), then I'd suspect a third party utility/service is interfering.  This could be a virus scanner/security application or possibly an ad blocker.  Even turning this off might not be enough (I've seen recent reports that Bitdefender issues were only resolved after a full uninstall.)  What apps are you running?  If you haven't already, make sure you've cleared your browser cache.  I'd also try resetting your hosts file (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/972034).  Finally, can you try restarting your computer in safe mode with networking enabled to see if video starts working?
    Thanks,
    Chris

  • Adobe flash player security blocking

The adobe flash player security  is blocking mail with the message /about/srcdoc is trying to communicate with this interner-enabled location  static.adsafeprotected.com
How do I get rid of this?

    IanGCou wrote:
How much of a risk is it unblocking?
If you select a single site to allow, not much, as long as it's a trusted site and you're careful about what you open there (in this case it being mail, you need to use your own discretion). If you set Flash Player to allow ALL sites, then you may be opening yourself up to anything from spyware to outright viruses.

  • Trying to download updated version of Adobe Flash player and "Blocked-Plug-In" keeps coming up and I

Trying to download updated version of Adobe Flash Player on my MacBook Air, and "Blocked Plug-In" keeps coming up and I cannot download.

After downloading, you need to install Flash Player. Double-click the downloaded file to install it.

Help, I tell you this is ridiculous can't anything be easy anymore. I updated my imac to snow leopard and you tube was working. Apple required a software update, so I continued and now my Adobe flash player doesn't work anymore. I get a blocked error. When I go to adobe to download updated software the button doesn't display to start the process. It says your anitivirus software must allow you to install software. I disabled avast anitvirus software and still do not see a download now button. ugh!

  • HT5655 Has Adobe Flash Player been blocked again.  I can download the image and proceed to installing; however, installation of flash prompts me to select update methods.  I cannot select update or not update.  I also cannot click on NEXT.

Has Apple blocked Flash Player again, listing it in the block list.  I am able to download the image from Adobe, and begin the install process.  Once I get to the option to select update Flash automatically or not, I cannot select an option or click on NEXT to finish the installation.  Thoughts?

Adobe's Flash Player Install Manager was updated about a week ago.
I suggest trying the download from Adobe's site here:

  • Adobe Flash Player has blocked me from using FF. A box shows up and the upper screen is grayed out

When I start FF, a small box comes up in the upper middle of the screen - it is from Flash Player and it has two selections: allow and deny. With this flash player box, the upper third of the screen is grayed out. It will not allow use of most visited, bookmarks, or anything that is to be initiated at the top of the page. Even if I start a program, I cannot use the upper controls for that program. This is the second day that it has been blocking my use of FF. Note: I also use Seamonkey, but it has not been affected by the flash player problem. I have re-installed flash player, re-booted, restarted FF, and no changes have come about. I am still blocked from using FF. In fact, I am using this support page on Seamonkey.

this sounds really strange, could you attach a screenshot of the issue?
another thing you can try to troubleshoot the issue is a clean reinstall: remove firefox from the windows control panel & chose to remove all personal data in the uninstaller. afterwards manually check if the firefox program folder got deleted (it's usually in ''C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox'') and else remove it manually. then download & install a fresh copy at getfirefox.com
if this doesn't work either please do a full scan of your system with the security software already in place and different tools like the [http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free free version of malwarebytes], [http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/ adwcleaner], [http://www.microsoft.com/security/scanner/default.aspx microsoft safety scanner] & [http://www.kaspersky.com/security-scan kaspersky security scan].

  • Adobe Flash Player Update Blocking Websites Using Safari

I'm getting the following notice everytime I try to navigate to a popular website, such as Google, Facebook etc. Worried it's malware. Says its an Adobe update for all the browers that I'm not using (I'm using Safari). Any ideas on how to eliminate this?

Some content on Google and Facebook both may require the Flash plugin.
As long as you download the plugin directly from the Adobe site, that's safe.
But, best to uninstall the currently installed Flash plugin first >  Troubleshoot Flash Player | Mac OS
Then reinstall new from here >  http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/?promoid=JZEFT
Then open System Preferences > Flash Player then select the Advanced tab.
    Click: Delete All.
That will update Flash to be used on all your browsers.

  • Adobe flash player has blocked a potentially unsafe operation

This is the error dialog box I get after adding a My iTunes purchases web snippet. With that dialog box I get 2 options- press OK or press Settings. Clicking on either results in nothing. It goes back to my page and shows the snippet but the problem is that I get the dialog box EVERY time I go back to the page with the snippet.

    Solved this problem...in a way.
Look in the html code that Apple gives you to copy. Almost at the very end of that code you see:
    ...allowScriptAccess="always"></embed>
If you change the "always" to "ask", then you no longer get that error dialog box

  • Adobe Flash Player is out of date (GOOGLE CHROME) it isn't...

    Hello!
I am not very computer savvy so bare with me, but if anyone can help me I would be very grateful.
I am using Google Chrome web browser (I have IE and FF but for some reason they are sooo slow). Everytime I visit a page that uses Flash (every page in the world almost) I get this ERROR message...
(jigsaw puzzle logo) Adobe Flash Player was blocked because it is out of date.                                 Two boxes... 'Run this time' + Update plug-in
I clicked update and it took me to the Adobe Flash page. It says it requires a MAC OS 10.6 or higher
My MAC is an OS 10.5.8
SO... I found the version for this OS and downloaded/installed.
Restarted my computer, launched Chrome and what d'ya know, I got the same message!!!
I don't know what I need to do now. I tried lower versions, still not working and I can't upgrade to Lion as this is a 10.5 (great!)
My processor is a 2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
    Mem 2GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM
    Just incase that helps.
If anyone knows how to fix this or what I need to buy to make it work I would very much appreciate the advice!
    Thank you
OH I also just found on the Chrome:Plugins page that beside the FLASH note it says:
Flash - Version: 10.3.183.29 Download Critical Security Update
    Shockwave Flash 10.3 r183
When I click on download critical... it downloads and still doesn't work.

I have a mac book pro and have already downloaded adobe flash player. However when i go to watch a video it says "Blocked Plug In". But my adobe is already up to date. Can someone help me to fix this so i can watch videos?

If you're sure you've installed the latest version of Flash, take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. After each step, relaunch Safari and test. For a "missing plug-in" error, start with Step 7. Back up all data before making any changes.
    Step 1
You might have to log out or reboot before a Flash update takes effect.
    Step 2
In the Safari preference window, select
Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data
    Close the window. Then select
     ▹ System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced
and click Delete All. Close the preference pane.
    Step 3
If you're only having trouble with YouTube videos, log in to YouTube and load this page. You may see a link with the text "Leave the HTML5 Trial." If so, click that link.
    Step 4
If you get a warning of a "blocked" or "outdated" plug-in, then from the menu bar select
     ▹ System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced
and click Check Now. Quit and relaunch the browser.
If the warning persists, triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    /System/Library/CoreServices/CoreTypes.bundle/Contents/Resources
Right-click or control-click the highlighted text and select
    Services ▹ Open
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open. Inside it, there should be a file named "XProtect.meta.plist". If that file is missing and you know why it's missing, restore it from a backup or copy it from another Mac running the same version of OS X. Otherwise, reinstall OS X.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar, paste into the box that opens (command-V). You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.
    Step 5
Open this folder as in Step 4:
    /Library/Internet Plug-Ins
Delete the following item, or anything with a similar name, if present:
    Flash Player (failing).plugin
You may be prompted for your login password.
    Step 6
Re-download and reinstall Flash. Download it from the domain "get.adobe.com". Don't click a link from any other website, including this one, because you can't trust links. They may be an attempt to trick you into installing malware masquerading as Flash. Type the address into the browser window. Never download a Flash update from anywhere else.
    Step 7
If you get a "missing plug-in" error, select
    Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Security
from the Safari menu bar and check the box marked
    Allow (or Enable) plug-ins
    Then click the button marked
    Manage Website Settings...
if present and make sure that the website is not blocked for Flash.
    Step 8
    Select
    Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Extensions
from the Safari menu bar. If any extensions are installed, disable them.
