Adobe Flash Player Menu
Please help... I am at my wits end.
I am attempting to view my granddaughter via her internet monitor through http://internetviewable.summerinfant.com. I have downloaded, uninstalled, reinstalled, and restarted and when I right click I do not get the menu for the settings and I need this in order to get the program to work correctly.
How do I get the menu? I need to be able to get to settings for the video feed... is there any other way to get there?
Quit Safari. Go to Mac HD/Library/Internet Plugins.
Trash the Flash Player plugin from there. Empty the trash.
Reboot, redownload and install Flash Player again.

Firefox 33.1 does not load Adobe Flash Player 15.0.0.223
As far as I can determine, Firefox 33.1 does not load Adobe Flash Player 15.0.0.223 (identified on the Plug-ins list as "Shockwave Flash 15.0.0.223") when I access most of the pages on the MSN website. Whether it will display any specific video is unpredictable but it displays about one out of five.
If I place the mouse cursor on the blank black video display area (for which no controls or buttons are displayed), and click the right mouse button, then either (1) the context menu is the same as for clicking the mouse cursor on an empty part of the page, or (2) the context menu is not displayed at all.
Apparently, Firefox has failed to load the plug-in, but does not display any error message. Neither is there any error message displayed by the plug-in.
If you think I am willing to undertake a trial-and-error odyssey through various "do this and see what happens" recommendations in "Knowledge Base" articles and the like, then think again. I don't have the time to make the effort, and I will use Internet Exporer instead. It ought to work with MSN just fine. :-)
Since I did not develop Firefox, this is not my problem to solve. It's your software, not mine, and I didn't make the mistakes, so you fix it.
By the way:
Either Firefox Help does not display the version correctly, or your Troubleshooter doesn't obtain the data correctly. Help says version 33.1 and Troubleshooter says 33.0. YES I KNOW THAT FIREFOX 33.1.1 IS AVAILABLE. SO WHAT?
Troubleshooter also identifies the Shockwave Flash plug-in as "15.0 r0" but the native Add-ons feature identifies it as 15.0.0.223 -- which is the version that Adobe uses.
The last line of the Troubleshooter's "educated guesses" just has "* 5.1.30514.0". I have no idea as to what that refers to and I doubt that anyone else would have one either.
Well, maybe those numbers are good enough for "educated guessers" but in my experience computers do not make "educated guesses" even if software developers do.

Please post specific instructions that will resolve the problem. If you don't know why the problem occurs and how to remedy the problem, then don't bother.
Realize that the problem did not occur with the previous version of Adobe Flash Player, but began after it was updated to 15.0.0.223. So it is is apparently specific to that version, and it may reflect a flaw in Adobe Flash Player. There's no way to actually report it to Adobe. Posting a report in their "user forum" just produces replies like the one that you have posted in reply to my OP, so what is the use?
Evidently you presume that Firefox does not have a bug, that something else doesn't work and you may be right. However, if Firefox does have a bug, then nothing that you have posted will correct it, and experimenting according to your boilerplate will be nothing but a waste of time and effort.
Again, the problem is not that Adobe Flash Player 15.0.0.223 does not run, but that it does not run when I attempt to view most of the videos on MSN. It does display videos from YouTube and other websites with an occasional specific exception. If the failure occured on more websites, and with all MSN videos, then maybe your suggestions for investigating it would have more merit.
For what it is worth: the problem occurs in Firefox Safe Mode and without Firefox Safe Mode. Disabling or enabling any extensions or other plug-ins has no effect.
I established that while investigating why Firefox 33.1 started producing crash reports every time that it initially displayed the New Tab page when I visited MSN (Firefox 32 did not do that). I also checked whether the actions that I took to troubleshoot that behavior affected Adobe Flash Player on MSN. They didn't.
Apparently the crash reports occured because Firefox could not find or could not load the "thumbnail" images for website pages that I had previously seen (they are often deleted by ''CCleaner''). The crash reports stopped after I made a couple of changes to the configuration for the ''SandboxIE'' sandbox in which I run Firefox.
Frankly, Firefox "Safe Mode" is something I don't need, because I run Firefox in a ''SandboxIE'' sandbox, which is a much more comprehensive security measure than anything implemented by any specific application. At the moment I don't recall whether Firefox Safe Mode is enabled, although I probaby re-enabled it after disabling it during the crash-report investigation. But it didn't make any difference with regard to Adobe Flash Player in that context, so there's no reason to repeat it. -
How come adobe flash player does not work on my macbook air
when on yahoo and i select to watch a video it doesn't play and any other website with a similar format.

Exactly! The password I used to log on here and write my post I figured was the same Apple ID password I would use to reset my computer login password. But my computer isn't recognizing it as the correct password so it wont let me update my login password. I have 2 user accounts on my computer.

I'm trying to play a game on facebook, but when I go to play it, it comes up with a message saying I need to install adobe flash player 12 or later. Adobe Flash Player and Shockwave crashing has disabled my computer
I have downloaded a second flash player and it is still the same. Firefox has been crashing daily for a few weeks. I noticed that your adblocker plus was updated 6/4. Since then I have almost no use of firefox, because the Adobe flash player 13.0.r0 and Shockwave crash notices are constantly popping up. In trying to fix it, a window came up that asked would I like to change it back to a previous working image, which was Windows XP. Although this computer is Windows 7, I clicked the box yes, and said I wanted it to work like Windows XP. Flash has been a pain since day 1 and Mozilla is currently working to replace Flash with Shumway. Unfortunately it's in the Nightly channel, doesn't come activated automatically and it isn't quite ready for normal usage. I just tested Nightly yesterday with Shumway and it wouldn't play. -
Ever since upgrading to Mavericks, Adobe Flash Player doesn't work.
I upgraded from Snow Leopard to Mavericks recently and since then, sites do not recognize that I have Adobe Flash Player installed at all. I currently have the most updated version: "Plug-in version 11.9.900.170 is installed." I noticed this when family and friends sent me e-cards. I go to the sites to view them and it tells me I need to download Adobe Flash Player.
I have uninstalled it twice and downloaded it twice. Installation is always successful and complete but when I test it to view an e-card sent to me from a reliable site, it still states that I need to install it to view the card. I HAVE IT!! lol I don't understand why the sites are not recognizing it on my computer.
I've tested it out on both Safari and Firefox and it doesn't work on either. Safari is 7.0.1 (current).
Can anyone help me fix this? Troubleshooting on Adobe Flash Player basically tells me to uninstall and re-install. Still doesn't help. ~sigh~

After updating my system to Mountain Lion 10.8.2 I can no longer view videos on Facebook or other sites. The only one I can view videos on is youtube. I have downloaded Adobe Flash player and still no luck. I cannot even open Preview on my computer anymore. Any ideas would be helpful thanks
Merely clicking the Preview icon in the Dock doesn't cause it to open anything, unless you had one or more windows open the last time it quit.

I uninstalled adobe flash player from my Mac Leopard OS X 10.5.8 and need to get a new version but it asks for the 10.6 before installing and apple won't accept it or the installation is not complete. Okay, a few comments... first, that tech at Future Shop has his numbers wrong. As of January of this year, according to my testing, Norton is actually only 73% protection against currently-active Mac malware. That's pretty darn bad, especially when you factor in the fact that Norton is well-known for causing problems. You may think Norton hasn't caused you any problems, but if you've had it installed for 15 years, you'd probably be shocked at how your machine would perform without it. It's probably a large part of the reason that you keep seeing that rainbow wheel cursor.
If Norton's log shows no malware, that doesn't mean Norton caught it, it means Norton never saw any malware to begin with. Which, since it's not so good at spotting it, doesn't really mean much.
Mac malware is rare enough that you've probably never seen any. However, note that running an outdated version of Flash is one of the dangerous things that could change that. Insecure versions of Flash were known earlier this year to be exploited by Mac malware. All you'd have to do is visit the wrong website and you'd be infected.
For this reason, regardless of what you do about anti-virus software, I strongly advise that you not install one of those outdated versions of Flash. If your computer is able to run Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard), you should upgrade to that system, then update it fully (Apple menu -> Software Update). Not only is there no known malware currently capable of infecting a fully up-to-date Snow Leopard system, but you'll also be able to run a more secure version of Flash.

Check System Preferences > Flash Player > Advanced
Click: Delete All under Browsing Data and Settings
Then empty the Safari cache.
From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Advanced tab.
Select: Show develop menu in menu bar
Now click Develop > Empty Caches
Quit and relaunch Safari then try Flash on a website for sound.
