Adobe Flash Player Quits Buffering Shortly After Starting to Play

Hello,
I am having trouble with Adobe Flash Player v. 16.0.0.305 not playing through videos.  It buffers and plays for a short bit then stops.  On Chrome it stops 1:09 into the video and then stops; and then it looks like it continues to buffer.  On Firefox it just stops at 0:56; and does not look like it is buffering.  On Internet Explorer  it stops at 5:08 into the video and then just stops; and then does not look like it is buffering.  This is the same video tried on the three browsers mentioned above.  I am using Windows 7 on an I-3 Intel Processor with 8 GB of RAM and about 250 Gb of disk space on the C Drive.
I have been through all of what is suggested on this page:  Flash Player games, video, or audio don't work | Windows
I am totally stumped.  When I try to download the video; it only downloads partially as well; but it does play the short clip that is downloaded.
I have been trying to figure this out for a couple of months now.
Does anyone have any insight as to what might be happening?  I appreciate it the help very much.
Regards,
Dave

To anyone experiencing this problem after trying the steps I posted above, try this potential solution:
# Open Tools->Add-Ons->Plugins, find Shockwave Flash, and press Disable
# Hold down the '''Windows logo key''' and press '''R''' to bring up the ''Run'' dialog.
# Type '''%APPDATA%''' and press OK.
# Open the Adobe folder
# Right click on the Flash Player folder and press '''Rename'''. Type in ''Old Flash Player'' as the new name.
# Go back to the Application Data or AppData folder. (On Windows XP, click '''Up''' in the toolbar. On Windows 7 or Vista, click AppData in the address bar)
# Open the Macromedia folder and repeat step #5
# Go back to the add-ons window from step #1, and press Enable on Shockwave Flash
# Try Farmville, Youtube, and other affected sites to see if the problem is fixed.

  • Adobe Flash Player 11 NOT working after several attempts to download, uninstall, & reinstall

I have problems with Adobe Flash Player 11 NOT working after several attempts to download, then uninstall, & re-install.
I uninstalled the previous versions of Adobe Flash Player from my computer PRIOR to attempting to install the new 11 version, so now I'm unable to view videos, etc.,
I'm using Windows Vista 32 bit, Internet Explorer 9.0 (which I closed when I got error messages during Adobe Flash Player 11 Installation.  I've  disabled my AVG -Virus also during the installation of Flash Player 11.
FYI, I'm not computer savvy so the YouTube video by Adobe Tech was too complicated to follow AND I'm unable to view  (DUH!) it since I have no Flash Player program installed (doesn't make sense!) .
Thanks for keeping it simple (KISS for me).

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling some 30 times now ..rebooting, you name it.
I haven't been able to use flash since Adobe kindly shoved that latest update down my computer's throat.
Right after getting the 'successful' installation message I restart IE9 ..go to my channel on youtube and immediately get the message:
The Adobe Flash Player is required for video playback.
    Get the latest Flash Player
I tried Chrome and on two or three it worked but then even after closing out of them ..Chrome slowed down to a crawl and finally informed me that Flash had stopped working.
This has entirely wasted 3 nights of my time. It is 2:30 am and I should have had at least 2hours sleep already to rise at 6:30 but no, thanks this I'm still up and no doubt millions of other computer users are having just as much fun.. Everyone I know that allowed the updates to install ..is having the same problem ..Chrome/IE9/Firefox ...you can truly call it Adobe's Universal Cluster ...
I live with Adobe. At work we have 6 fully Adobied LR4/CS5 & 6/InDesign workstations. I'm a photographer using nothing but Adobe products and quite frankly I feel this is the worst treatment you have ever given your customers.
Please stop the CYA and just fix the damm thing! I realize you didn't write it Chris but surely you can get Adobe management to address this instead of just trying to get their users to try and debug it for the airheads that released it. Has anyone stopped to consider the financial damage being done due to videos not playing the ads that support the sites and no doubt stream revenue to Adobe? These guys have rolled the online experience back 5 years minimum and Adobe will probably pay the price for it. Re-issue a working version and go back to the drawing board!

  • Getting "the application install adobe flash player quit unexpectedly' error message when trying to

When trying to install flash player update on my mac running osx 10.5.8.   I get error message "the application install adobe flash player quit unexpectedly"  I've tried uninstalling the application and restarting my computer. But when I click the install icon  it quits unexceptionally every time.
    Please help!

    Hello,
Flash Player is no longer supported on OS X 10.5.8.  The last version to support OS X 10.5.8 is Flash Player 10.3.  Flash Player 10.3 is available for download from this page: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/archived-flash-player-versions.html.

  • Install Adobe Flash Player quits unexpectedly

I am trying to install Adobe Flash Player v. 17 on my  mid 2011 iMac with 3.4 GHz Core i7 running 10.10.2.  Every time I double click on the Install Adobe Flash Player.app, I get a crash notification saying that Install Adobe Flash Player quit unexpectedly.  I have downloaded the file several times with the same result. I close Safari and turn off my virus protection software while trying to run the install.

Same question, same answer: use the offline installer http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/latest/help/install_flash_player_osx.dmg

  • I recently installed Java 6 update 33, and adobe flash player 11 plugin, and now can't play any videos from any website in Mozilla, but Google Chrome works.

Cannot play any video from any website in Mozilla after installing Java 6 update 33, and adobe flash player 11 plugin. However, I can play videos from Google Chrome and also from Internet Explorer. For example, when I'm trying to play a you tube video in Mozilla, a black screen comes up with following error message: "An error has occurred. Please try again later."
(This is like the Wizard of Oz -- when the man comes to the little window in the door and says to Dorothy, "Come back tomorrow." )

This may be caused by a recent Flash 11.3 update.

  • Adobe Flash Player endless buffering on Safari 4.1.2

    Hello there:
I'm having a very strange problem with Adobe Flash Player in Safari 4.1.2 (in this Mac the OS is Tiger 10.4.11), the buffering stays, and no music, you can check the player on gogoyoko ( http://www.gogoyoko.com ) and tell me if you can listen or not.
    Any help will be welcome.
    Best wishes, as always,
    Federico (aka euskir)

Definitely try version 9 but make sure and uninstall your current copy of Flash first.
    Help here to uninstall Flash
    Uninstall Flash
Flash 9 installer here; notice there are downloads for PowerPC or Intel.
    http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html
Very important to repair permissions after the installation.
Launch Disk Utility. (Applications/Utilities) Select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left, select the FirstAid tab. Click: Repair Disk Permissions. When it's finished from the Menu Bar, Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac. If you see a long list of "messages" in the permissions window, it's ok. That can be ignored. As long as you see, "Permissions Repair Complete" when it's finished... you're done. Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac.

  • Adobe Flash Player Quit Working

I am running Windows Pro 7 (64-bit) and MSIE 9.
For some unknown reason, my flash player quit working. No big deal, as I went to Adobe's download page and first obtained their uninstall executable. I used it to completely rid my machine of it's original Adobe Flash Player.
Next, I went to download the latest version (and have done so probably 7 or 8 times now). I have tried two methods.
One, installing it onsite (the app reaches 7% and completely stops).
Secondly, I download the installer to my machine and double-click it. Same thing, the installer stops at 7% and it's done.
I have researched this problem since yesterday, trying to solve it, to no avail. I have turned off my anti-virus, my anti-malware, I've turned off just about everything except my computer but nother works. I have switched between ActiveX filtering and back again, yet the same results.
I cannot get past the 7% download of Flash Player from the site.
Can you recommend a third party exe that may work without having to download from Adobe's exe?
    Thank you.

Mike, again, thanks for the assist.
Now, as a result, on the below page....
    http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player.html
I can now see the Flash 'test graphic' on that page (I couldn't before).
However, regardless of which site I go to that host FLV's or flash videos, including YouTube, they won't play. What does tkae place, is the timer on the bottom of the video appears, as does the 'loading spiral' but the video never materializes.
Do you know if this has something to do with ActiveX now being turned off or is there something I may be missing here?
    Thank you.

  • Adobe flash player successful download still wont let me play on line video's?

I downloaded the lastest version of adobe flash player so I could see my Church service online.  I got a message that said download was successful but still cant view on line services.  tryed several times.  Yes, I restarted my computer.  I need help!  thanks almeed

Assuming Allan's advice is not correct, and you do run the installer, I think I've heard of that problem and it involves removing the old Flash plug-ins, then install the new version. I don't use it so I don't know what they are called, but will be the /Library/Internet Plug-ins folder.
You can go here and enable HTML5 in YouTube so you don't have to use Flash: http://www.youtube.com/html5
Most(?) of the content is HTML5, but you may run into videos where you still need Flash.

  • Acrobat Pro 8 quits unexpectedly shortly after starting

I've used Acrobat Professional 8.3.1 for a number of years with no problems. Recently, though, it has begun quitting unexpectedly about 10 seconds or so after starting.
The following information may or may not be relevant. Other Adobe products I'm running are CS6 Lightroom and Photoshop. CS6 and Acrobat Pro 8 coexisted without conflict for several months. But I recently experienced a problem with Photoshop CC not updating properly and had to remove and reinstall the program. The Acrobat problem existed before I removed and reinstalled the program, but the fact that Photoshop CC woudn't update properly might or might not be related to the Acrobat problem..
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

You can try a repair of Acrobat from the Control Panel (Add/Remove programs). That may resolve the issue. If not, you likely have a registration problem related to the PhotoShop in CC. In that case, you might want to check the CC forum about activation issues such as yours. The installation and activation of Acrobat as part of CC is a bit different and may need input from the CC folks.

  • Why Flash Player Is Buffering Slow After Windows 8 Update

After I have updated my windows  8 in my HP Pavilion N-15 Core i-3 notebook, the flash player is running creepy and I am unable to watch and stream videos online.
That is very frustrating, I asked microsoft about this but they said there may be problem in flash player. I tried to figure out what causing this creepy streaming but haven't resolved this issue. Can any one help me over this?
    Thanks

1.) Do you have the same issue in other browsers?
2.) Do you see an improvement when you disable hardware acceleration (instructions in the troubleshooting guide below):
         https://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/video-playback-issues.html
3.) Are you using any ad-blocking, anti-tracking, video capture plugins or software firewalls?  If so, what are they (include versions)?
If you're still stuck, please follow the directions in the guide on providing the dxdiag report and additional information about what you tested and saw.

  • What is causing Flash Player to crash shortly after I download and install the latest version

It only normally lasts a day or two, but the last time it crashed on the first use the same day I downloaded and installed it. I am running Windows 7 Home Edition with Firefox as my browser, and I have Bitdefender antivirus as well as MalwareBytes anti malware installed and active. As far as I can tell Flash Player is the only program affected this way. Is there any other substitute player I can install that works as a plugin to Firefox and won't crash the day it's installed?

When I used to see this with Win 7 it was because the Shockwave player (not Flash) was outdated.
To make sure you're up to date for both, download the following:
    Flash Player Uninstaller
Flash Player Plug-in (All other browsers)
    Also, download these:
    Shockwave Player Uninstaller
Shockwave Player 12 FULL installer (ther browsers)
Save all the files and close your browser.
Run the uninstallers first (both of them)
    Go to: C/Windows/System32
    Delete the Macromed folder.
Go to: C/Windows/SysWOW64 (if your Windows is 64 bit)
    Delete the Macromed folder.
Open your Registry Editor (Start>Run or press the Windows key + R and type 'regedit' [minus the quotes] and click OK)
In the Registry Editor, go to:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE
Delete the Macromedia folder (Right click and choose "Delete").
    Go to:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software and delete the Macromedia folder there too.
Close the Registry Editor and empty your recycle bin.
Run the Flash Player installer, and then the Shockwave FULL installer.
Worst case: If that doesn't stop the crashes, try resetting Firefox: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/reset-firefox-easily-fix-most-problems
