Adobe flash player stopped working properly

I just purchased a new laptop with windows 7, 9 days ago, and I keep getting a notice that adobe flash player has stopped working properly. My laptop has windows 7 and I use ie8 and of course is a 64bit.  I play Farmville alot and have had constant notices that flash player has stopped working properly. I don't know if it is the creator of Farmville but playing the game is choppy, hangs, freezes, and am constantly getting error messages like Microsoft runtime library
I have checked the add ons and flash player is enabled. I followed the troubleshoot a problem and uninstalled and then reinstalled flash player but still have problems.  Any help is appreciated.

Hi, Thanks. Your Flash Player files and the SWO(if it is vs 10.0.45.2) are correct. Are you having problems on other sites
or just that one? Are you getting a message that is different than "you need to update your Flash Player?"
Many times it is the websites or if you are getting this from a game, then that can be causing the problem. I haven't been
able to determine if the websites that have NOT updated to support the latest Flash Player are just putting out a generic
message or not.  You might want to check with the site to see if they support FP vs 10.0.45.2.
You may have an add on that is conflicting also, it is hard to tell. Some anti-virus programs have add ons that may conflict.
Since several users are having problems with Facebook, Farmville, Zynga, etc. my opinion is that it is not your computer.

  • Adobe Flash player stops working?

    Adobe Flash player stops working?

    Welcome to the Adobe Forums.
To better assist you with this issue we need to know:
What is your operating system? (Windows or Mac) (XP, Vista, 7, 8)
What browser do you use? (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, Opera, Safari)

  • Adobe Flash Player stop working...

For some reason Adode Flash Player recently stop working. I uninstalled and reinstalled Flash player 4 times however to no avail. I have the latest version (14.0.0.176) on my PC (Windows 64bit). I've noticed that others have also had a problems with getting Flash Player to work. Did Adobe make a major change that I'm not aware of. Any assistance with resolving this issue would be greatly appreciated.

I cannot see HTML5 video, but non-HTML5 still works for me.  Is this true for you, also?

  • Adobe Flash Player stops working whenever Flash or Rich Media content is loaded.  Can anyone help?

Whenever I launch a browser, I get a message telling me "Adobe Flash Player 11.5 r502 has stopped working."  Additional message says Data Execution Prevention has closed Flash Player.   I have tried all the applicable fixes suggested on the Flash Player help page (http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/flash-player-games-video-or.html).
Flash Player version: 11.5.502.135  and .146
OS: Vista Home Prem, sp2, 32-bit
Browser: Firefox 18.0 and IE 9
    Anyone else have this problem?

1st)    Click on the apple at the top left corner of your screen. Fourth option down, system preferences click this. Once system preferences opens up adobe flashplayer should be listed on the very bottom row, click this. Once adobe preferences are open make sure you are on the storage tab (listed accross the top), make sure "allow site to save information on this computer" is bulleted. Next click on the "local storage settings by site...". Once you click that, check to see if youtube.com is listed in the box. If not then click the + symbol at the bottom left. Manually enter www.youtube.com. Close out of everything.
2nd)    Launch safari, look to the very top left corner of your screen. You'll see the word "Safari" just to the right of the Apple logo, click on this and go down to preferences. Next, go to the security tab accross the top. Make sure there is a tick/check mark in the "Allow Plug-ins" option. If it is, click "Manage website settings...". Then on the left-hand column select Flash Player. Then off to the right-hand pane, make sure that youtube.com is listed and that its set to Allow. Quit and re-open Safari.
All of these steps or at least some portion of this should get it operational. If not, post back... more things we can do.

  • Adobe Flash Player stops working EVERY TIME

Cannot access lots of things e.g. Jackie Lawson cards as the Player stops working immediately every time

    Help us to help you.
What Operating System do you use?
    OS X can be 10.5.8, 10.6.8, 10.7.5, 10.8.5 or 10.9.2
    What browser do you use?
If IE, give the version number (8, 9, 10, or 11)

  • Adobe flash player stopped working 10.5.8.. can not get it to work anymore

My flash player has not worked for 2 days, i can view some things on Youtube but with no sound so i tried to update my flash player and it doesn't supprt my mac os x version 10.5.8... anyone know what i can do next... Spent over a thousand euro on this under 3 years ago and now it's telling me it's too old! Aghhh help!

It isn't the MacBook that's too old it's the Operating System. Mac OS 10.5 Leopard became obsolete in July of 2009, that's 4 years ago. Companies like Adobe, Google, Firefox, etc.. no longer support anything less than 10.6.
First we need to know which one of the 9 different models of MacBook you have. To see which model you have go to the Apple in the upper left corner and select About This Mac, then click on More Info (and then System Report if you’re running 10.7 Lion). When System Profiler comes up check the Model Identifier and post it back here.
The Early 2006 model 1,1 Core Duo can only run a maximum of 10.6 Snow Leopard.
The models Late 2006 Core 2 Duos 2,1 through Early 2008 4,1 can only run a maximum of 10.7 Lion.
The Late 2008 model 5,1 Aluminum Unibody through the Mid 2010 White Unibody model 7,1 can run 10.8 Mountain Lion.

  • Adobe flash player not working properly

I just tried to play a game, but  the game says i need flash player 8 or up.
I have the latest version, so it shouldn't say that. So I tried to re-install both the game and flash player several times, but that didn't work.
For the rest, flash player works, I can play games, and videos work normally.
Another weird thing is, on the site where you can download it, it says I have flash player installed, but it is disabled. But as far as I know, you hav to enable it at plugins, and it's enabled there.
So, does anyone know how to fix this?
    I have windows 7 (64 bits),
    and I use chrome

This is one of two things:
    1. The game has outdated version ID code in it. This dates back to the days when Flash Player was in singel digit versions, 9 and below. If that's the case, nfortunately, there's nothing that can be done about it.
    2. The game is written for NPAPI Flash. IF that's the case, it's not findign it with the Chrome Plug-in because it's PPAPI. Solution:
Downlaod the Standard plug-in - Flash Player Plug-in (All other browsers)
Then disable the PepperFlash Plug-in in Chrime, forcing it to fall back on the Standard plug-in.

  • Flash player stopped working properly

I have this problem on Firefox and Chrome only on IE it work perfectly
the problem is whenever i try to watch a video or anything with flash i get a black square.
when i right click on it i get "Movie not loaded"
please help and sorry for my English

Okay, you've brought me an interesting mystery.
If you restart Firefox from Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled, do you have the same problem?
The videojug video loads fine for me.  I'm not seeing anything that jumps out at obviously wrong, and I've never had anyone tell me that only HTTPS sites work for them before (given the size of our user population, we hear about *everything* that can possibly break, so it's rare that we get something new).
The HTTPS/SSL transport would guarantee that the content came from the site, and that it wasn't tampered with in transit.  If all HTTP content fails and all HTTPS content works and that's the main differentiator, I start getting suspicious.
I was hoping that videojug also supported HTTPS (many sites will offer HTTP by default, but will serve HTTPS if you change the URL), but they don't.  It would be really interesting if you could find a site that fails in HTTP but works in HTTPS.  Otherwise, there are a lot of variables in play.
There was a worm going around last year targeting home routers, and it would insert fake "Upgrade Flash Player" messages into random pages.  Those attacks were memory-resident, so if you power-cycled the router, the malware would get cleaned out (at least temporarily until the worm hit it again).  If you haven't updated your router's firmware lately, that's probably not a bad plan in general.  Rebooting the router is quick and easy, so it would be good to just rule it out.
The other possibility that jumps out is that you have malware on the machine redirecting requests.  I'd recommend running malwarebytes (malwarebytes.org) on your machine.  It's free and well-respected.  Again, just worth ruling it out.
For the most part, all the networking stuff happens in the browser.  We don't really care how the content is served (aside from some "does this have permission to talk to this" logic), because we're not really dealing with it at the protocol level.  It could be that it's just better written, better funded stuff that's working well for you, as good security can be a decent proxy for the level of effort and investment in a product.  Having a good 1:1 comparison would be really great for proving that it's really the HTTP/HTTPS thing.  It just seems super weird.
Do you have an "always HTTPS" plugin or something in the browser?  Any software firewalls or security suites (particularly free or off-brand ones), ad-blockers or anti-tracking plugins?  Does this happen in regular 32-bit release Firefox, or just in the other variant that you're using?

  • Adobe Flash Player not working in Internet Explorer 9

I installed the latest version of Adobe Flash Player (version 11.7.700.169) and Adobe Flash Player stopped working in Internet Explorer 9. ActiveX filtering is disabled and the Adobe Flash Player add-on is enabled in IE 9. When I try to load the Web page for www.youtube.com, I get a blank screen. Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox work fine - both can display the YouTube Web page. Is there a fix for this?

  • Flash Player stopped working for Chrome in Windows 8

Randomly, the flash player stopped working for Chrome. I run a Windows 8 system. Everytime I go to a website that uses the flash plugin (youtube, video streaming websites) a bar pops up telling me that the plug in will only work in the desktop. I've never encountered this problem before.
    I have:
    1. Checked to see if I needed updates. I'm all updated.
    2. Reinstalled Chrome to try and fix it, to no avail.
Additionally, when I view the Flash Player settings from my control panel, under Advanced Settings, it says that the plug in version is not installed. However, I'm unable to click on that or click on the settings that say "Allow Adobe to install updates (recommended)".
What is going on? I really disllike running Chrome from the desktop and would like this to be fixed.

Chrome uses its own "proprietary" build of Flash Player, so you WON'T see any plugin in your control panel for it. You verify that it's enabled by typing "chrome://plugins" in your Chrome address bar. I'd provide a screenshot but I've REMOVED Chroime from EVERY system I have because it uses WAY TOO MUCH processor and  it was launching by itself in the background on my Win 8 machine. I won't tolerate that out of ANY software.

  • Linux - after update to firefox 5 64-bit flash player stopped working

After updating firefox 5 (from stable repo) the flash player stopped working.
I have had installed the adobe flash player square (64 bit) - by following http://queleimporta.com/en/finally-adobe-releases-native-64-bit-flash-10-for-linux/ ...
The .so library is still on its place(/usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/libflashplayer.so), though firefox does not seem to have flash player installed.
before update to firefox 5 it worked
    system is Xubuntu 10.04

Finally I've found out that it's possible to install flash from lucid repositories (which works... named 'flashplugin installer')... I've never noticed that before... So sorry for asking stupid question and thanks to anyone who spend some time even only by reading this thread.
//EDIT: so question 2 - how to tag the topic as solved? :)

  • Flash player stops working after a few days.

I'm recently having issues with flash player on IE and Firefox each time a new version is released. This time the flash player stops working after a few days without any reasons. I have asked two other questions and I have tried the solutions but this time they are not working:
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/4617987#4617987
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/4548211#4548211
Could anyone tell me what the reason is?
I also need links providing Flash player for IE and Firefox which are always updated. I need to first download the installer then install it offline not install it directly from adobe website.
Please help me solve this once forever!

I'd suggest trying a clean install: How do I do a clean install of Flash Player?

  • Adobe Flash Player stopped a potentially unsafe operation

Does anyone know what this is about: a popup appeared which
    said:
Adobe Flash Player stopped a potentially unsafe operation
The following local application on your computer or network:
    javascript:parent.payload1018
is trying to communicate with the Internet-enabled location:
    msn.server-sys.com
It then goes on to advise that if I want to allow the
communication I should click on Settings.
This sounds like a virus problem. Can anyone advise me on
    this?
    Thanks in advance.

Thanks for responding Gary. Pretty funny about the Google
comment - never occurred to me. Anyway I have spent the last 2 days
running many of the online scanners - Kapersky, Symantec, Macafee,
(currently running Nod32) and some malware software: Adaware,
SuperAnitSpyware, and some rootkit detectors and those are the ones
I can remember! Issues were found (some known, some not) and 2
items pointed out were actually installed by me but did not do any
damage (I looked at the registry and other places for telltale
signs of virus deployment as per Symantec instructions for those
flagged virus's but I was ok) however not one of the flagged items
explains the javascript warning. So far my computer has been on for
more than 24 hours and I have not seen any messages appear
(Javascript or otherwise) - especially since I cleaned out my
restore points. It looks like my installed antivirus software
(TrendMicro) worked for the regular virus problems and somehow
Adobe caught the javascript issue. I guess I just have to hope
there is nothing going on that is getting past them. This is what I
get for being a little risky lately. My antivirus and firewall
software are on high alert mode for the time being and we'll see
what happens from here. I take a look at the software you
suggested. If you find anything else out about the javascript error
    let me know.
    Thanks.
