Adobe flash player wont let me even open the installation wizard

i click on download , it comes up with the run , save bar thing at the bottom , i click run like it says , but it stops and says that there has been a virus detected , so it stops. the o.s is vista , and i really need to have flash player, can anyone help please?

I tried to play a game I love & I got this message: "To view this page ensure that Adobe Flash Player version 10.0.0 or greater is installed" So I went to your site to update my flash player & hit the "Test Flash Player" button & it came up
like this^^. I went to the suggestions your site provided & went to Manage add-ons to look for Shockwave Flash Object to enable it:

I jsut upgraded to 10.9 and it is up to date and also my safari is up to date (no updates available for it). My safari is saying that my flash is out of date. when I follow the links it lets me download but when I double click to install it tell me "“Install Adobe Flash Player.app” can’t be opened because it was not downloaded from the Mac App Store.". When I install the flash UNinstaller and try to install that, it tells me the same. I ALSO found the exact same problem when I tried to install the acrobat installer (some tried to download a pdf and the page told me that my acrobat reader 'might' be out of date). Any thought?

You're running up against the GateKeeper.
Download the offline installer: Flash Player 12.0.0.44 (Mac OS X) by right clicking and choosing "Download Linked File As".
Mount the DMG and when it opens, right click the installer and choose "Open".
You'll see a warning. Click "Open" again.
It will run from there.

Assuming you are using Safari ...
Quit Safari.
Open System Preferences > Flash Player then select the Storage tab. Click: Delete All
Now uninstall the Flash plugin then reinstall new > Troubleshoot Flash Player | Mac OS
Make sure to uninstall the currently installed Flash plugin first.
Launch Safari From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Empty Cache
Now try a video.
BTW... if you have the ClickToFlash extension installed, that can prevent Flash based video from streaming. It can also be installed as a plugin in /Library/Internet-Plug-Ins.
And check to see if Safari is running in 32 bit mode. Right or control click the Safari icon in your Applications folder then click Get Info. If the box next to: Open in 32 bit mode is selected, deselect, quit then relaunch Safari.

If you already have an older version of Flash Player, open the Preference pane and select Check Now... under the Update portion under the General tab:
You shouldn't have to install a new version from the website (I'm not even sure if you can) if you've already installed Flash Player.

Don't DL Flash from web sites. If you have Adobe Flash installed it should be in System Preferences and you can find the latest version and download from there.

I have had the same problem with firefox on facebook. It has happened for the last couple weeks. I can receive gifts under requests and every game I try crashes. I can usually read my homepage. this is getting really bad. I have cleared caches,downloaded what I am told to download to update, and cleared history and cookies and still happens , and have been told to get rid of firefox. what is the problem? and when I sent reports , nothing. and sent emails to all the games and told them and asked for help and never get responses. should I through the computer out the window, or delete you? Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.

I have been having a problem for the last week. Use pogo.com and it wanted me to update the Adobe Flash Player to play 1/2 the games on the site. When I updated it said needed os x version 10.6 or higher for latest version. Currently have os x 10.5.8 when I hit update software it says that I have the latest version of software and doesn't update.

i downloaded an adobe flash player for this website: Vietnam holidays but when i go to back to that website or any website for that matter it still says i need to download it even though i followed all the steps to complete the download. i tried going back to the website for help but i couldn't find any useful information.

What does "still won't work" mean? Flash Player 10.3.183.90 is very old. You might find that many sites require a newer version of Flash Player to view content, perhaps this is what you mean by "still won't work". Depending on your system, you may be able to upgrade to OS X 10.6 which will enable you to install the newest version of Flash Player. There's lots of information on this on the internet. Just search for "upgrade OS X 10.5.8 to 10.6" or similar.

Hi, I uninstalled the old version i had of adobe flash player through Programs And Features. I have windows vista. And im trying to download the new version of adobe flash player but what happens is, is that it intializes, and then when it starts to download it goes up to 12% and stops.
