Adobe Flash Players - not supported by Nokia E61??...

Hi - I am new here - I love my new smartphone!!!
I have just bought a E61 and from reading threads and posts here (thanks so much everyone) am I to assume that this phone does not support Adobe Flash - I havent been able to download Adobe flash players as it tells me that my phone does not support it even though I was advised when I updated to Version 3 for E61 it would then enable me to install Adode Flash and Shockwave etc
which kinda makes the internet part of this phone useless coz most sites run on these players these days - it is really frustrating as I have spent many hours trying to get the internet part of my phone up and running smoothly
I guess I just need a YES or NO answer from one of you lovely gurus here - in case I got it wrong - Nokia smartphones do not support most internet sites because of not supporting their flash player - it this a correct assumption?
Many thanks to anyone that can help me with this - I am very disappointed that this phone is not doing what I was told it could do when I bought it!
Kind regards
Di

The phone support only Flash Lite, which is a subset of "full" Flash you can have on PCs and PC web browser.
Flash Lite is useful local/standalone Flash Lite apps, but not for web browsing.
Adobe has not created a "full" Flash player for mobile phones yet, as far as I know.
All in all, you can't access Flash based web sites with your phone (or most any phone you can find on the market).

There is no more Flash Player for Android and there won't be another. Android is no longer compatible with Flash Player. Playing Flash content is very processor consumptive and it drains your battery, also shortening the life of it. Android (Google) recommends using either "Dolphin" or "Puffin" as your browser if you need to view Flash content with a mobile device running Android. They're both free in the GooglePlay store. These browsers use "server side" rendering to reduce the load on your device.

  • Why is adobe flash player not supported?

Why is adobe flash player not supported?

    Because.
Apple and Adobe could never come up with an OS that liked flash and a version of flash that worked on the OS. So never the twain will meet. and now Adobe is abandoning mobile flash in favor of other things, so it's become a moot point.
With the surge in the number of mobile devices and the fact that a lot of them don't use flash, site creators will need to take mobile devices into account when they create their sites and assess their accessibility.

  • Adobe Flash Player - not supported on iPad?

I want to watch a tv programme originally shown on Channel 4 UK.  I have found the programme but when I try to access it I am told that I need Adobe flash player, which is not supported on my iPad.  I have tried iTunes but it is not available.  How can I get to see this programme?

No Flash for iPads, iPhones, or iPods
Here's why there's is no Flash available for iDevices or other mobile devices. Adobe was unable to provide a product that was suitable to the needs of battery powered mobile devices used for Internet browsing. Existing Flash technology used too much memory, ate battery life, and was buggy. Simply put Flash did not work well on mobile devices.
Apple's Steve Jobs led the escape from Flash dependency when Apple introduced the iPhone, and later introduced the iPad. There was a hue and cry over the omission. Time proved Jobs was right on target.
So this is why there is no Flash for your iPhone or iPad or iPod nor for most SmartPhones. Flash has been abandoned by many sites in favor of supported technologies such as HTML5 or by providing their own custom app.
Here is Steve Jobs official comment on his momentous decision to omit Flash from iDevices: Steve Jobs on Flash.
Here is Adobe's later announcement to cease development of Flash for mobile devices: Adobe on Mobile Flash.
Now, you are not necessarily out on a limb. There are some apps that can display some Flash, but don't count on there ability to display anything using Flash.
Apps that can display some Flash from the Web:
    Puffin
    SkyFire
    Photon Flash
    Browse2Go
    iSwifter
Also, note that many sites that use Flash provide their own app for accessing their material. So check with your favorite sites and find out if "there's an app for that."

  • Adobe Flash Player not supported by Android 4.0x

I use apps and and visit websites that require the Adobe Flash player and no other.  Does anyone have any ideas for getting around this problem?

The work around for this is very simple.
    1) go to Adobe's site and download Flash on your phone
    2) download and install Dolphin Browser
    3) begin using Dolphin as your  browser and flash movies etc... will play.
The issue here is not that JB does NOT support Flash, it is the browsers do not support Flash since Adobe stopped supporting flash in the mobile arena. Dolphin still supports flash and it works just fine on Jellybean phones.

  • Adobe flash player not support

adobe flash download but not support fire fox
    thank you

Which download are you using? If the one on the regular page isn't working well, you could try this page:
    https://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/distribution3.html (for "Plugin-based browsers")
After installation you should find the DLL here (this is for Vista and newer, and most likely your 64-bit system as well):
    C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash
    Check for: NPSWF32_17_0_0_134.dll

  • Mac Adobe Flash Player not supporting Web Proxy Authentication

Anyone else got an enterprise network where you use web proxies with web authentication and no traffic allowed out except through the proxies?
You may need to be in the UK for this, but try accessing BBC iPlayer content - http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer and you should discover that the content won't play. the error says "This content doesn't seem to be working. Try again later.". The content will never work as the Mac version of Flash (currently 10.1.53.64) is not able to respond to web proxy authentication requests. The BBC use various streaming server which are randomly selected when a user starts a stream and they have no DNS. Just IP addresses. They don't publish a list for security reasons. So it is almost impossible to exempt all their servers from authentication.
I've logged a bug with Adobe. If you have this issue too, please add a comment and vote so that they can begin to grasp the impact of this problem:
    https://bugs.adobe.com/jira/browse/FP-5161

I have the same issues in Australia trying to access flash content from the ABC website. The strange thing is the content will play if your leave the browser open for 5min.
After several packet data captures we identified that it has to do with the amount of time it takes the Mac timeout from the proxy before it plays the video content.
    No solution yet.

  • Requested extension com.adobe.Vibration is not supported for Windows-x86 Problem with Cs6,air3.4.

While compiling my application on Flash CS6 with Air for iOS 3.4, I am getting the error given below:
The content cannot be loaded because there was a problem loading an extension: Error: Requested extension com.adobe.Vibration is not supported for Windows-x86.
I am using vibration.ane file which got it from Adobe (http://www.adobe.com/devnet/air/native-extensions-for-air/extensions/vibration.html)
Anybody out there who knows how to solve this problem!
    Thanks.

    1) The vibration ANE from Adobe does not support Windows.
    2) The iOS simulator (adl) is not a virtual machine but rather it is a native Windows app, thus the platform your app runs on is Windows not iOS.
What Adobe needs to do to avoid confusing everyone is one of two things:
    1) Include a stub for Windows (and MacOS) in the Vibration ANE.
    2) Make it possible to deploy an app to a platform where the ANE is not supported, but produce a runtime error upon an attempt to use the ANE. The developer could then put logic in the app to detect the underlying platform and make adjustments.

  • How do I sign up for Adobe Flash Player Extended Support Versions?

I looked on the website but was unable to find how to sign up for Adobe Flash Player Extended Support.
Thanks in advance for the help.
    Dano

    Hi UtahDano,
Can you tell me where you saw '2013'?  I looked on Adobe Flash Player Distribution | Adobe, Adobe - Adobe Runtimes / Reader Distribution License Agreement, and Adobe Runtimes / Reader Distribution Agreement, and I'm not seeing '2013'.  Once I find out exactly where this is at, I can forward it to the appropriate folks to update.

  • Adobe Flash Player not accepted?

In using my browser on iPad mini, reading daily mail and news, I want to do the daily crossword, but notified that Adobe Flash Player is needed, but iPad system not compatible and I can't download the plug-in.  OK.  Is there another way to work with non-App Store material?  Or just fuggedaboudit?
    Thanks.

Flash is not supported on the iPad (and you can't download any plug-ins on the iPad)- and as Adobe have announced that they are stopping development on all mobile versions of it, it probably never will be.
Browser apps such as Skyfire, iSwifter, Puffin and Photon 'work' on some sites, but judging by their reviews not all sites. Also some websites have their own apps in the App Store.

  • Adobe flash does not play in Firefox on my tablet under android 3.2. WHY

samsung Tab 10.1 android 3.2 , Ihave installed my preferd browser Firefox.
When i am forced to use the generic android browser adobe flash content plays properly, when using Firefox. adobe flash does not and it asks for a plugin to be installed, to date i have not been able tp locate the flash plugin for firfox in android 3.2. Is there any help for this??

Originally, Firefox Mobile was not going to support binary plugins, just pure web code, but they had a change of heart and plan to add it in the next major release. Not sure whether the following is up to date -- it refers to Firefox 13 Aurora, which may be a beta by now:

As far as we can tell, Adobe Air does not support persistent HTTP connections via KEEPALIVE

Can anyone confirm if this is correct - is there any way to get Adobe Air to support KEEPALIVE and maintain persistent server connections?
