Adobe Flash Reader

Sorry for this - I could not find a forum that discusses the Adobe Flash Reader.
I have downloaded and installed the Flash reader - but when I double click the swf file - it still comes up with unknown application. Where is the flash reader installed - I searched the "Program Files" folder and could not find it. I want to launch it first and then use it to open the "swf" file. I even tried to associate the swf file with the Flash Reader, but the Flash Reader, does NOT appear in the list of applications installed. Please help.
Adrian

There is no such thing as "Flash Reader"; SWF files are usually associated with Flash Player, and that forum is here http://forums.adobe.com/community/webplayers/flash_player
However, Flash Player is a browser add-on to play Internet content, not a standalone player.  To play local SWF files you need Fash Player Projector (http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html) or Adobe Media Player (http://www.adobe.com/products/mediaplayer/).

Post relates to: Pre p100eww (Sprint)

The Flash plugin for the Pre is not ready yet. I found a blog post dated today that reports this:
It’s official: Adobe’s CEO, Shantanu Narayen, announced in the Q2 audio press release that a version of Flash Player 10 beta will be available for Smartphone’s browsers starting this October (during Adobe MAX) . The FP10 will be available on Google Android, Nokia Symbian OS, Window Mobile and Palm Web OS Pre browsers.

  • Hello can you advise me what I can do when some sites have adobe flash reader but iPad 2 does not support it

Hello is there anything I can do when ipad2 does not allow adobe flash reader
    THanks

These are user-to-user forums, Apple don't monitor these forums (there are too many forums/threads/posts for that to happen).
    For Apple's thoughts on flash : http://www.apple.com/hotnews/thoughts-on-flash/
But as Adobe have never managed to make a version of their flash player that works on iOS devices, and they have recently announced that they are stopping development on all mobile versions of it, it doesn't look like it will ever be supported on the iPad.

  • Where are _correct_ directions for installing the Adobe Flash Reader plug-in

There are directions for installing Adobe Flash Player in its new Firefox incarnation as a plug-in rather than its old incarnation as a stand-alone program. Unfortunately, the directions are not for the current versions of either Firefox or Adobe Flash Player, and not only don't work, but don't even make sense. Are there _correct_ directions somewhere that will let a reasonably naive user install this plugin? Following the existing directions get conformation at ever step that the installation has succeeded, but in the case, nothing is there to run. As a result, that huge fraction of the web using Adobe Flash Player is now broken for me.
