Adobe Flash update "Not Found" ?? since my update to Froyo

After the system update to Android 2.2, appbrain keeps telling me that Adobe Flash is ready for update, but when I try to install it says "Not Found".  What is messed up?  Other than needing a new Swype beta, this is the only 'whoops' I have experienced.  I like being able to turn phone either way and have the browser recognise it.

@GL17oxford... Flash 10.1 comes pre-installed with 2.2 upgrade. However, you are correct that there is an Flash Player 10.1 update on the market which for some reason does not show up on the DROID Incredible immediately after the upgrade. The update on the market is a fix release which solves some issues with performance and will show up in the market eventually. It did for me a few days ago. Just keep going back to Android Market and search for "Flash Player 10.1". And beware that you only install the one that is published by Adobe Systems. Another way to search would be : pub:"Adobe Systems". Hope this helps...Cheers!

  • Adobe Flash Player not working since update

Good Morning, I had a update yesterday and since then anything that uses Flash Player doesn't work, it stops sends a report to apple and thats it i've tried uninstalling the flash player and still nothing, I tried repairing the permissions in disk utility. Really no clue what to try next.

I now have a solution to this problem, which has certainly worked for me.
Backup system. Go to User/Home/Library/Preferences. Move all files in the Preferences folder to a new temporary folder on the desktop. Log out and log in again. Test. Embedded video should work.If it does, copy the old preference files back to the original Library/Preferences folder but select DO NOT REPLACE. Log out and back in again.
To retrieve e-mail accounts, mail, and account settings, copy the COM.APPLE.MAIL.PLIST file from the temporary desktop folder into the Library/Preferences folder and select REPLACE. When you're happy that all your data is in place and everything works, delete the temporary desktop folder.

Open System Preferences > Flash Player then select the Advanced tab.
Click Delete All under Browsing Data and Settings
    Not empty the Safari cache.
From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Advanced tab.
Select:  Show Develop menu in menu bar
Now click Develop from the menu bar. From the drop down menu click Empty Caches.
    Now try a video.

  • McAfee software forced install with latest Adobe flash update 12/26/14

So it seems that Adobe has once again chosen to go the route of not even giving an opt-out option for whatever 'software' they bundle their Adobe Flash update with. I fail to see how this practice creates anything but mistrust for these products from a consumers perspective. Having worked in  IT and having had to deal with questions like "Why is my browser changed/messed up?" or "Why did X show up on my computer and is now spamming me to buy something?" it's frustrating knowing that in many cases it's large companies that are to blame. In this case it seems even more calculated coming right after a major holiday when inevitably more PC's and more inexperienced users enter the market.
I personally will never use McAfee or Google Chrome or (heaven forbid) Ask.com related software if this is how they intend to do business. I'd like to think that large businesses like Adobe would have better marketing strategies for their sponsors that don't create dissent and distrust among consumers.

Adobe's Flash Player update workflow does present the choice of also getting some "added value" software (e.g., AV - Search Engine stuff for browsers - etc.).
One simply unticks the boxes on the step that displays the choice.
Oh yeah, ya do gotta look rather than do a fast click through which will result in a gotcha eh.
One "gotcha" back in the day was all it took for me to "STAR" these sort of updates.
    No "gotchas" since.
You'll observe similar with other software package updates (e.g., Java, etc.).

  • Download Adobe Flash update on Mac with Yosemite

I am attempting to install the Adobe Flash update on my Mac Book Pro with Yosemite.  On every attempt the download bar stops at 30%.  I have uninstalled Adobe and reinstall it and I get the same result.  I would appreciate help in resolving this issue.

I just downloaded the installer... took all of 3 seconds to download.  It's only a 1.2MB file.
Check to see if it has downloaded it anyways.  Should see something like AdobeFlashPlayerInstaller_17au_Itrosxd_aaa_aih.dmg if it's there, quit Safari from the menu bar, run the installer.
If it's not there, try a different browser.  If that works, it's something in your Safari that's stopping it... could be an extension you have installed or adware.
You can also try a direct download from the Adobe site: (Under still having problems)

  • Adobe flash update fails

Flash update keeps asking me to quit safari. But Safari is not running
Anybody else with the same problem?

I feel your pain and have a solution that should work. I have been battling this for several weeks now, finally gave up, and wrapped up a call with an engineer an hour or so ago. Come to find out, regardless of what the O/S tells you in Activity Monitor about Safari, Dashboard, or both "not" running, these processes are in fact being called.
It seems that, at least in my case, on an up-to-date OS X / Safari combo, and with The Weather Channel widget installed, you will never get the newest Adobe Flash Player update to install. As soon as you remove The Weather Channel widget, the Adobe Flash update process will again work normally.
It makes absolutly no sense, but I and the engineer were able to reproduce the fix on my two systems and reproduce both the issue and the fix on his. I suspect this is a issue with The Weather Channel widget - or at least how it is interacting with the O/S and Safari. I suggest checking for any installed/active widgets that grab/stream any soft of content via the web, removing them, and re-running the Flash updater. I hope this helps.

  • Genuine Adobe flash update for mac?

Hi, I've just heard about some kind of virus or malware that poses as an adobe flash update and I noticed excessive prompts to update over the last few weeks so I'm wondering if someone can please confirm whether the update prompt in the attached screenshot is genuine. Thanks!
Well that's just annoying... when I try to attach the 115kb TIFF file i get the error message "[The content type of this image is not allowed.]"
    A little help?
    Message was edited by: Mataczar

    Hi Mataczar,
It seems that your image attachment is not allowed. Try pasting a different file format.
Also, try asking this question in Flash forum. Somebody there will be able to answer you better.

  • Installing Adobe Flash Update?

Anybody have a good way to use ARD to run the latest Adobe Flash update to 60 desktops? It's not a package so you can't use the Install Package tool. I don't want to login to each desktop individually if I don't have to.
    Thanks.

Install it on your master computer, and use LANRev InstallEase to create a package from the newly installed files. Push that package out to the desktops.

Please check to make sure you're using the current version of Firefox by going to the Help menu and selecting "About Mozilla Firefox". The current version is 3.6.3 (as of this writing), if you're using an older version, please download the current version from [http://www.firefox.com the Firefox website]. If you are using 3.6.3, try visiting the Adobe download pages for Adobe Reader and Adobe Flash directly, note that you will probably have to agree to install the Adobe Download Manager (Adobe DLM) and agree to several security prompts in the bar at the top of the page before the plugins can install. Here are direct links to the download pages:
[http://www.adobe.com/go/EN_US-H-GET-READER Adobe Reader download page, US English]
[http://www.adobe.com/go/EN_US-H-GET-FLASH Adobe Flash Player download page, US English]
(I would recommend UNchecking the box so as not to download the McAfee Security Scan, but this is up to you)

  • Update to 3.6.6 clashed with adobe flash update

crash and notification that there are restored pages to be tried in restart of firefox. dialog screen that advises adobe DLM needs to be updated. I removed EVERYTHING adobe from the system, flashes, updater, before I found that there was a cryptic directory in C:\Users\Owner\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\415ltrzs.default\extensions\ containing some adobe garbage. I removed all of that junk too. Now 3.6.6 opens OK. I followed update process for flash as listed on support page(s). Flash seems to work. I'm going to rename the sessionstore.js to the former file to see if I can get the sessions going again after 4 hours of wriggling on this hook. I just thought someone else whould know there could be difficulty with doing a firefox version update at the same time as a session recovery and perhaps an adobe flash update.
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened
== update to 3.6.6 and was prompted to update adobe flash player

What do you specifically mean by "plug in collapse".
