Adobe Flash won't install into Firefox.

I've tried to install Adobe Flash Player numerous times. I go to their web site and download the installer. I then run it as an administrator and it says that it installed fine. However, when I get into Firefox V30.0 and go to Add-Ins Manager, it's not listed. I've tried uninstalling the add-in from "Add and Remove Programs" from Control Panel and install it again. I've tried uninstalling Firefox and downloading a new copy and then installing Adobe Flash Player again. I've re-booted my computer numerous times. Nothing works.

  • Adobe Flash Player won't install into Firefox, even when using the offline installer, and downloading it through Firefox

Ever since the latest update of the Adobe Flash Player, I think it came out this week.
I can't seem to get it to work with Firefox, I have downloaded the installer, it installs successfully, then I check in Firefox to see if it works. It says that I need to install it?!?! I have tried the offline installer of the Adobe Flash Player, I also tried installing it through Firefox (when you click "Install missing plugins"). That just fails instantly.
I posted on the Adobe Forums, but no luck.
I am getting frustrated with this! I have never had problems with installing the Flash Player, and I didn't install this version any different from the previous versions. Flash Player was working well until the latest update of Flash Player was released.
If I go to C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash, it shows all the Flash Player files, but it's not showing up in the Firefox addon manager, and not working on YouTube, or any other Flash Player sections of sites.
    I installed the 64-bit version, because I have a 64-bit Windows.
It works on IE, but not on Firefox.
It seems like it installs fine, but then it doesn't looks like it "installs" it into Firefox. Or whatever...
Also, I have tried uninstalling it with the Adobe 64-bit Uninstaller, restarting my PC after uninstalling, then install the 64-bit Flash Player for Firefox... doesn't work.
I have done EVERYTHING I can do to try and get it to work, no luck...
Please, any help with be appreciated!

Where can I find direct downloads of Flash Player 11 for Windows or Macintosh?

  • Adobe Flasher Won't Install

I've have tried everything I can think of to try to install
adobe flasher. I had it on this computer for a long time and now it
just won't install properly. Everytime i try to install it, it says
that I need to install the Active X. I then try to install Active
X, but I always get a note that tells me that the instalation
failed. I can't view certain pictures and video. I can't seem to
properly download the correct Active X control or there maybe
another problem. Thanks for any information.

The number one reason that the ActiveX installer fails to
install on IE are due to incorrect permissions in the system
registry. We have solved hundreds of these Windows system
    permissions with Microsoft’s SubInACL tool.
Note: This is strictly for Windows IE, these issues do not
occur on other browsers such as Firefox.
    www.firefox.com
To fix these Windows system registry permission conflicts you
    can use Microsoft’s SubInACL tool.
Warning: The following solution involves the Windows System
Registry. Editing or manipulating the registry incorrectly can
result in serious system damage which may require re-installation
of the operating system. If you are not comfortable editing the
registry, then take your system to a professional. If you choose to
proceed, then it is essential that you create a complete system
backup and a Windows System Restore Point before proceeding.
Please download Microsoft’s tool to your desktop.
    http://www.supportflash.com/reset_min.zip
    1. Login as the User that has the incorrect permissions in
    the system registy
    2. unzip the “reset_minimal.cmd” and the
    “subinacl.exe” to the desktop
*** Make sure both files are on the desktop
    3. Close out all applications
    4. Run the “reset.cmd” file
    5. It will open a DOS like terminal and start running through
    registry keys
    6. When it is finished it will say “press any key to
    continue”
    7. At this point you can download the latest Flash Player

  • Flash won't install on Firefox

Hi, I got a message from Facebook while trying to view a
video that I needed to download and install Flash Player 9. It
downloaded fine, but when I tried to install it told me I needed to
exit Firefox. I did so and tried again and got the same message. I
used IE to install Flash and succeeded, and viewed the Facebook
videos without a problem. When trying to view them using Firefox,
Facebook still told me I needed to install Flash. How can I install
    Flash using Firefox?
So many F's (Flash, Facebook, Firefox)!
    -ynnnus

Hi, You are correct, it wouldn't have anything to do with IE8. Ever since Win7 came out, I know it has IE8 so I just connect the two in my brain.LOL  I read that you can't go back to any other version of IE, with Win7.
Firefox calls their add ons "plug-ins"; Internet Explorer calls their add ons "ActiveX Controls". Adobe calls Flash Player a browser "plug-in" Now most likely you will find the Flash Player listed in the add/remove or programs and features section, where programs are listed. Confused yet? Now when Flash Player is installed using IE, 4 files are installed into
the Flash folder. That alone is not enought for Flash Player to work. In the IE add ons, the Shockwave Flash Object, yes the ActiveX Control and it is the Control must be there and enabled.
Now if Flash Player is installed in FF, also 4 files are installed into the Flash folder. You have 8 files, so you have all of what you need for Flash Player to work using IE since you have the SWO. FF also needs that "control", but it is called
SWF(Shockwave Flash) and it must be enabled. The SWF is called a "plug-in".
The only thing I found on Mozilla is how to install the Flash Player "plug-in" which I thot they meant the SWF. No they
mean how to install what Adobe calls Flash Player, i.e. the "plug-in" Now are you confused? But you already have Flash Player installed and the 4 files are sitting in the Flash folder. Dizzy yet?
I am going to Microsoft and it may be tomorrow before we get an answer. LOL
Now I know why I liked Accounting, 2+2 was always 4.
    Thanks,

  • Adobe Flash won't install on Mavericks?

About three days ago, Adobe Flash disappeared from my OsX (Mavericks) system.  I have tried to reinstall it without success.  I contacted Apple Support, paid them their $19 one-incident support fee, and they were NOT able to solve the problem either.  I even disabled my anti virus sw (Norton) on a temporary basis.  Still no joy.  Any ideas w/b appreciated.

If Flash Player does install, it puts two items into /Library/Internet Plug-Ins and adds a prefPane to System Preferences. Check those. If no go, contact Apple's Support, formerly Apple Express Lane, and let them deal with it, since it's a new machine.

  • Adobe Flash won't install on Mac

So once I've downloaded and begun the installation process for Adobe Flash, the installer asks to close certain running programs.  However, while i am downloading adobe flash it is asking me to close com.apple.Webkit.Plugin.64.  I have no other applications open, and when i alt+tab the only two things running are finder and the adobe installer.  So, my question is, what it com.apple.Webkit.Plugin.64.
    Thanks
Here is a screenshot of the installer.

I had the same error/issue and this how I quickly fixed it:
Step 1: Visit this site to download a previous version Archived Flash Player versions
Step 2: Download version -> (Released 9/9/2014) Flash Player 15.0.0.152 (Win Firefox and Mac) (132 MB)    (though I believe any recent MAC version should do, this just worked for me)
Step 3: Install the Flash player from Step 2.
Step 4: Download and install the latest version of Adobe Flash Player (that wouldn't initially work)
Step 5: Problem should be solved. You're just reverting your update and re-installing it to fix it.

  • Adobe flash won't work with firefox

why adobe flash 11 does not work with firefox

Maybe someone can help me with a similar issue.  I am running Windows 8 64 bit, firefox 23.0.1 on a brand new Asus laptop, 3rd gen Intel I7.  I currently have Flas 11.8.x installed and enabled as well as shockwave.  Some pages that seem to use Flash, like Google Play, work just fine.  However, others do no display any content.  They do not display the crash logo (w/ the sad fave lego block),  I get only a blank (white or sometimes black) space.  If I right clock on this space, I get a greyed out option displaying the message "Flash movie not loaded" and an enabled button that read "About Flashplayer 11.8.x".
For example, Yahoo Fantasy Football draft room will not load, neither will the flash test video at http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/find-version-flash-player.html.  I tooke my computer back to TigerDirect for them to take a look at it, and while the Tech there said he didn't know what to tell me, he also said he was sure it was a software issue.  That being said, my GPU is Nvidia geforce GTX 670MX.
I have also tried to run Firefox in compatibility mode in WIndows 7 and XP, and in both these instances, with updated flash, I at leas can get a "Flash Has Crashed" graphic in the instances that flash is not displaying. I have also tried loading flash in IE10, Chrome and Opera to the same issues.   If anyone has any help, please let me know.

  • Adobe Flash won't update in Firefox

For some reason, whenever I try to update to the newest version of Flash, it downloads fine and FF says it's been installed, but when I check, I still have 10.1.82.76...says that in FF and in the programs section. It's not just one computer either, it's doing it on all three of my machines. On one machine, I uninstalled Flash but  can't reinstall, as now it won't let me. Keeps saying I need a plugin. So please don't suggest uninstalling. I've tried that one too many times already. IE is fine and updated on all three machines easy
All I wanted was the new version of Flash for FF. Now I'm stuck with the old version on two computers and no Flash at all on another one. This is all just happening with FF, IE is fine. I've tried the manual method on the laptop that won't let me install....no luck
Does anyone have any idea what's going on?
Btw, this is happening exclusively in FF 3.6.10 with:
    Laptop: Vista/32 bit
    Laptop: Vista/32 bit
    Desktop: Windows 7/64 bit

Hi, the first thing I would need to know is what Flash Player files are actually Installed. Let's take one computer at a time.
As you have listed them:  The first one is #1, #2, #3 in that order please.
    Laptop: Vista/32 bit
    Laptop: Vista/32 bit
    Desktop: Windows 7/64 bit
#1. Go to C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash  Open Flash and post back all files listed. Right click on the NPSWF files and then click on Properties in order to obtain the version numbers. Then Using FF, check in the plugins for the Shockwave Flash and let me know what version is listed.
What Anti-Virus do you use and are there any AV related addons/plugins/extensions installed? (#1 only)
    Thanks,

  • Adobe Reader 11.0 won't install through firefox - click save and then nothing else happens

Adobe Reader 11.0 won't install through firefox - I click save file when requested it switches to Step 2 of 3 but nothing is there and I have waited for a very long time for it to load.  Anyone else have this problem?

    Hi Pat,
After your last email I decided to continue to trouble shoot the problem and finally found the answer from another user.  Oddly enough when using Firefox it will default to a location on your computer to save downloads.  If it encounters a problem it doesn't identify it, the program just "loops" back to the start of the download sequence.  Once I changed the folder that the downloads are sent to the original way of upgrading occurred without fault.
I will go back into the discussion group and credit you with the answer because I really appreciate your assistance.
    Thank you, Jim

  • I just loaded Yosemite on my Mac and now adobe flash won't work in Safari  8.0.4 .  Does anyone have a solution ?

I just loaded Yosemite on my Mac and now adobe flash won't work in Safari 8.0.4 . Does anyone have a solution ?

If you can't install or update Flash, follow these instructions.
If you have installed the latest version of Flash, please take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. After each step, relaunch Safari and test.
For a "blocked plug-in" error, see Step 4.
For a "missing plug-in" error, start with Step 8.
Back up all data before making any changes.
    Step 1
You might have to log out or restart the computer before a Flash update takes effect.
    Step 2
From the Safari menu bar, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data...
and confirm. Close the window. Then select
               ▹ System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced ▹ Delete All...
In the sheet that opens, check the box marked
Delete All Site Data and Settings
then click Delete Data. Close the preference pane.
    Step 3
If you're only having trouble with YouTube videos, log in to YouTube and load this page. You may see a link with the text "Leave the HTML5 Trial." If so, click that link.
    Step 4
    a. If you get a warning of a "blocked" or "outdated" plug-in, then select the Security tab in the Safari preferences window. In the list of plugins on the left, there should be one—and only one—entry for "Adobe Flash Player," showing the same version number that you installed. Select that entry. On the right there will be a list of websites for which you have specifically allowed Flash, if any. It's normal for the list to be empty. Below that is a menu labeled
              When visiting other websites
From that menu, select either Allow or Ask.
    b. If you still get the alerts, then go back to the Flash Player preference pane and select the Advanced tab. Click Check Now. Quit and relaunch the browser.
    c. If the alerts still persist, triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    /System/Library/CoreServices/CoreTypes.bundle/Contents/Resources
Right-click or control-click the highlighted text and select
              Services ▹ Open
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open. Inside it, there should be a file named "XProtect.meta.plist". If that file is missing and you know why it's missing, restore it from a backup or copy it from another Mac running the same version of OS X. Otherwise, reinstall OS X.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. In the Finder, select
              Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.
    Step 5
In the Safari preferences window, select the Advanced tab and uncheck the box marked
              Stop plug-ins to save power
    Step 6
Open this folder as in Step 4:
    /Library/Internet Plug-Ins
Delete the following item, or anything with a similar name, if present:
              Flash Player (failing).plugin
You may be prompted for your login password.
    Step 7
Re-download and reinstall Flash. Download it from the domain "get.adobe.com". Don't click a link from any other website, including this one, because you can't trust links. They may be an attempt to trick you into installing malware masquerading as Flash. Type the address into the browser window. Never download a Flash update from anywhere else.
    Step 8
If you get a "missing plug-in" error, select
              Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Security
from the Safari menu bar and check the box marked
              Allow (or Enable) plug-ins
    Then click the button marked
              Manage Website Settings...
if present and make sure that the website is not blocked for Flash.
