Is this why I can't view videos from websites?
Hi  Sheli, yes this is why.  If the video being streamed is in flash format, you can't view it.
HPalm has announced Adobe Flash content will be arriving with the webOS 2.0 update (which will be available for all phones).
When that is going to happen is again <sigh> anyone's guess.  I'm betting early 2011.

  • Installing Adobe Reader for Palm on Vista

I run as a standard account on Vista Ultimate. The installer needs admin privileges so that it can update c:\Program Files. As a result, the installer ran under my administrative account. When it shut down, updated the Hotsync conduit and restarted Hotsync, Hotsync was running under my admin account. This means that all Hotsync data ended up in the wrong user directory structure. Also, the conduit was looking in the wrong place for PDFs to be uploaded to the Palm. Restarting Hotsync under my standard account did not work - the Adobe Reader conduit did not show up in my Hotsync settings.
The solution was to change my standard account to have administrative privileges. I also installed Adobe Reader for Palm to a different directory, rather than under c:\Program Files - I am not sure this is required but has been recommended for other applications that are not Vista-compliant. The Hotsync conduits were properly updated this time but would not automatically restart - a manual restart was successful. I was then successfully able to sync PDFs.

  • Adobe reader for palm issue

I want to be able to read eBooks on my
Palm Tungsten T5 running Palm OS Garnet v 5.4.5
Palm Desktop 4.2.1 on Mac G5 OS 10.3.9
    also using iSync 1.5
I've installed Adobe reader for Palm OS 3.05 on my Mac,
and it's installed fine on my Palm T5.
But, I've used the Adobe reader for Palm application on the Mac to add files to be transfered to the palm.
The application asks me to press the HotSync button, which I do. The Palm carrys out the HotSync,
but the pdf file is not transfered to the Palm.
    What could be going wrong?
I've read on a previous thread
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=1404460&#1404460
that the problem might be caused by iSync,
and that I need to transfer the AcroConduit from Disabled Conduits to Conduits.
But there is no AcroConduit in either folder on my Mac...
Is there another reader I could use to read eBooks on my Palm?
    G5   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

This should work without a hitch, but only if the AcroConduit is present in your active Conduits folder, here:
    Macintosh HD:Library:Application Support:Palm HotSync
If you cannot find it on your machine, send a message to the address listed in my public profile, and I will reply with a copy of the AcroConduit which you can drag into your active Conduits folder.
You could also go here to once again download, then install, the Adobe Reader for Palm OS package:

  • Need help finding the desktop applc of Adobe Reader for Palm OS

Either I'm going blind, or Adobe just failed to include a download link for that Adobe Reader desktop application that takes care of converting regular PDF files to PDB files. I
Here is Adobe Reader for Palm OS page, there you'll find a link to download a Free AR for the Palm OS, which installs a PRC file in your Palm, but there is no mention of its counter part application for the desktop

WN,  thanks for the suggestion. I had just tried it actually. And it's a great alternative. But after using the other one, I can't help but notice how slow it is in my Palm TX. I think I would prefer to get the benefit of compressing/converting the files to PDBs. But no one seems to know where to get that application. I checked in my TX CD and I didn't find it.
If your TX installation CD does not "auto-run" and present you with a menu to install additional software (including Adobe Reader for Palm), you can find it on the disc using Windows Explorer at:
    Palm CD > Int_English >  Essential_software > Adobe Reader for Palm
In that folder is the installation (.exe) file which you run on your desktop.  It installs the desktop app, and the .prc file gets installed to the quick installer during the process.
FYI...this software is slow and clunky on the handheld.  The conversion process is imperfect, and particularly with files which I have produced myself using Acrobat Distiller (the part of Adobe Acrobat which lets you "print" to the distiller to create a .pdf file from anything),  it sometimes doesn't even work.
The best .pdf viewer I have used on my handhelds is actually the upgraded version of Documents To Go, which handles native .pdf files pretty well.  No conversion needed, just drop the files into your SD card, or Hotsync with Documents To Go desktop.

  • Isync conduit/adobe reader for palm issue

I just got a Tunsten E2 for Christmas. I'm somewhat new to this PDA world, so perhaps I'm missing something obvious. I installed the software, installed Adobe Reader for Palm OS and performed a HotSync. I then tried importing a PDF file to my handheld with no trouble. Then I saw via the Palm website that I could sync using isync via the isync conduit 1.2 from apple. So I downloaded that and followed the instructions to install it. Now my addresses and calendars sync flawlessly, but I can't seem to get Adobe Reader for Palm to transfer any more PDF files.
Has the isync conduit disabled a conduit for Adobe? Is there any way to fix this? Any help would be much appreciated.
    Thank you,
    J
P.S. I'm using Hotsync manager 3.2.1 and Palm Desktop 4.2.1

    Michael,
I've figured out what the problem is. When you install the isync conduit it removes any conduits that it feels it conflicts with. i.e. contacts, calendars, to do lists etc. It also, for some reason, removed the Adobe conduit named AcroConduit. I think this is a glitch in the isync conduit. Thankfully, the conflicting conduits that isync removes aren't deleted. They are simply put into a folder named "disabled conduits" located in the main "library" folder->"Application Support" -> "Palm HotSync", right next to the "Conduits" folder. So I just dragged the AcroConduit back to the "Conduits" folder and configured the conduit in HotSync Manager and, viola, all seems to be working fine... sort of.
It seems that Apple's Address Book and iCal don't exactly sync picture perfect on the palm pilot. email addresses where phone numbers should be, some addresses not showing up at all, calendars not showing up in the correct headings such as personal, business, etc. Apple and Palm could do better.

  • Adobe Reader for Palm OS won't install

When i try to install Adobe Reader for Palm OS from the disk that came with my new Palm T/X (or from the Adobe website) it acts like it's doing something but never actually installs. Help!!!

The Adobe Reader 305 for PalmOS setup file contains an older version of InstallShield's SETUP.EXE. For several reasons this setup version might hang without showing any GUI:
    a. A running background application prevents the setup from continuing.
    b. The TEMP-folder contains a lot of files and/or subdirectories.
ad a: Use the Windows Task manager to check how many background programs are running. You can temporarily prevent most startup-programs from running by holding both shift-keys immediately after logging into Windows XP.
ad b: Delete the files and folders from your TEMP folder(s). To locate your personal TEMP folder: Use the windows start menu -> click on: Run.. -> Enter: %TEMP% and press enter. Also check the %WINDIR%\TEMP folder. Some files might be in use during deletion, this can be ignored safely.
Reboot the computer after cleaning the TEMP folder(s), then try again running the setup program.

  • Have reloaded my MacPro 2008- can't locate the Adobe Flashplayer for this model .. 10.5.8

Folks, I am just short of losing my mind. Have had to go to the Genius Bar at the ABQ Apple store (after much reluctance). The reinstalled my system for me due to problems. Have spent the day getting things set up but I cannot figure out how to install the 'right' Adobe Flashplayer. Everything is sayng I don't have the right system, etc. What baffles me is that the Flashlayer was on here and worked.
So .. what Adobe flashplayer do I need, where to find it, etc. Also, I realize that it would help to install an updated  system. Was told that I had to buy the first stage on line ($20) and they would install the next stage. 10.5.8 is the Leopard, right? What is next and then what after that?
All of this is above my pay scale (so to speak) and I could really use and will appreciate the feedback.
    Thanks so much.

    1. Click here and download the correct version of Flash, or see below.
    2. The next step is to buy a Mac OS X 10.6 DVD from the online Apple Store; after that, the computer can be updated to 10.6.8 for free. Upgrading the Mac to 10.6 will also allow the current version of Flash to be installed.

  • Adobe FlashPlayer for A2109 Incompatible?

    Hello All,
Forgive me... I am very new to tablets and the A2109 is my first one. So far I am loving it, but I am frustrated because I wanted to watch a video online (not YouTube or Facebook) but it said I could only watch it with Adobe Flashplayer. I tried going onto Adobe's website to download it but it wont allow me to. I also tried installing a few other flash type apps to try and watch the video but none of them have worked. Could anyone give me advice? The whole reason i wanted a tablet was to watch these specific videos online. Thanks for your help and have a happy New Year!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I just went through this and wanted to pass on specific steps I took.
My stock A2109 with ICS worked on videos right out of the box in the android browser (not Chrome).
When I did the system upgrade (the supported one in system settings) to JB 4.1.1, I lost that in the browser. It is because it isn't supported beyond 4.0, but I found that it does work. You have to enable install from other sources in system settings, download one of the flash apk files that others provided links to, run it and after the install completes select Open. It will ask what application to open it in and select Browser. After that, flash worked again. I watched a full movie in Amazon Prime Instant Video and it did glitch a couple of times but would resume at or slightly before the right spot. If you go full screen, it will time out and turn off, but if you watch it in a frame (an annoyance to be sure) it stays on.

The Flash plugin for the Pre is not ready yet. I found a blog post dated today that reports this:
It’s official: Adobe’s CEO, Shantanu Narayen, announced in the Q2 audio press release that a version of Flash Player 10 beta will be available for Smartphone’s browsers starting this October (during Adobe MAX) . The FP10 will be available on Google Android, Nokia Symbian OS, Window Mobile and Palm Web OS Pre browsers.
