Adobe flashplayer update???

WHen i try to go on a website i get message saying you need
to update your flashplayer? I click on a link which directs me to
the adobe website and the download for updating flashplayer. so
when i click on the sownload link i get message saying FLash player
succesfully updated. However i still get the message, " you need to
update your flashplayer"?? THis is so annoying!!! WHats the problem
here?

I am having a similar problem, which started about two weeks
ago when Flash Player popped up a message saying an update was
available, which I proceeded to install. After that, on both IE7
and FF, websites that have Flash only give me the "need to update"
message. Also, I use Windows Media Player to listen to XM Radio,
but cannot access my interface because of the same problem,
although i can still listen to xm.
I sent tech support an email (through their support site)
last week, but have not heard back yet, nor have I received an
acknowledgement that they even received my message. :o/

    Do a clean (re)install:
    * Download a fresh Firefox copy from http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html and save the file to the desktop.
    * Uninstall your current Firefox version and remove the Firefox program folder before installing that copy of the Firefox installer.
    * Don't remove personal data when uninstalling.
    * It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
You can initially skip the step to create a new profile, that may not necessary for this issue.

I have downloaded Adobe Flashplayer updates but videos still blocked. What should I look for?

    Hey gilbertfreedman,
Could you please tell me what version of Adobe Flash Player are you using.
From where have you been trying to download Flash Player updates?
Do you get any specific error message? What is it?

  • 10.4.11 update? iTunes store update?  Adobe flashplayer update

I have 10.4.11 and can't find the next update.  Also iTunes store doesn't work(music is fine) and can't update adobe flashplayer (not working at all) Running on a 2006 MacMini Help?

+CPU usage has gone over 100%.+
How were you able to see your CPU usage go over 100%!? What were you doing in iTunes (importing, converting, playing etc?) and were you doing anything else at the same time?
If you think it is over-heating (and how do you know?) I suggest running your reg. maint. scripts, disabling any 3rd party software (if present) and perhaps watching the Activity Monitor for any strange 'process' that may be running.

  • Downloading Adobe Flashplayer Updates

Since I could not reach a live body or post this to customer service, I choose to vent this here.
I find it intrusive to have Google Chrome and Google Toolbar installed on my operating system without my agreement every time there is an update for Adobe Flashplayer.  Once the download is complete, I have to take the time to go to my control panel and delete these two unnecessary and useless items from my computer.
Is there some way to avoid this other than not using Adobe Flashplayer?

Uncheck the bundled software from the download panel before downloading the installer.
Or download the offline installer from http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/distribution3.html

  • ADOBE flashplayer update today

After the flashback malware last week and the update from Apple to get rid of the trojan, Adobe is asking for another update to there software.  Is this ok to download or are we asking for more trouble.  My computer was affected last week and with the removal tool it was fixed.  I just hate the thought of another version.  Anyone downloaded this update from adobe?

If in doubt, go directly to the Adobe website and download it from there.

  • Adobe flashplayer update installs mcafee crapware

Updated flash player and these adobe installed macafee crapware without even asking!!!! How can they do that? Why would they do that? Why do they want to piss off someone especially a customer! They have made me a totally RELUCTANT customer now.

    Hi Chris,
I see where you are coming from.
From now on I will then be vigilant in monitoring exactly how it comes and will take screen shots if I am quick enough.
From my memory I got a popup screen which reminded “update available” which I accepted, it then went to the screen (mentioned in the forum message that I wrote) and I don’t have UAC enabled so it all got installed.
It sounds from your description that you believe I did not read the full screen, with me just accepting adobe as a trusted entity. I however do not think this was the case, although I did accept the popup as it was trusted by me. However time will tell..
I am very open to helping in this situation.
You should understand my personal situation I have been using computers since the early 1970’s, I have had bad results with McAfee, I will never use them again. The only reason I registered on the Adobe site was to make that one complaint, that complaint was not really against Adobe except to complain that McAfee had got into my computer without my knowledge on the back of an Adobe update. I suggest you let people Optin with an Optin box, instead of forcing them to search everything for an Optout box.
I see that 5 hours ago there was another update so I am waiting
    Thanks
    David

  • Cannot install Adobe Flashplayer update

I cannot play any videos off the internet on my iMac. It tells me I need to install Adobe Flash player update
I do and it appears to update successfully and then I still get the same message
    Help

If you can't install or update Flash, follow these instructions.
If you have installed the latest version of Flash, please take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. After each step, relaunch Safari and test. For a "missing plug-in" error, start with Step 8. Back up all data before making any changes.
    Step 1
You might have to log out or restart the computer before a Flash update takes effect.
    Step 2
From the Safari menu bar, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data...
and confirm. Close the window. Then select
               ▹ System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced
and click Delete All. Close the preference pane.
    Step 3
If you're only having trouble with YouTube videos, log in to YouTube and load this page. You may see a link with the text "Leave the HTML5 Trial." If so, click that link.
    Step 4
    a. If you get a warning of a "blocked" or "outdated" plug-in, then select the Security tab in the Safari preferences window. In the list of plugins on the left, there should be one—and only one—entry for "Adobe Flash Player," showing the same version number that you installed. Select that entry. On the right there will be a list of websites for which you have specifically allowed Flash, if any. It's normal for the list to be empty. Below that is a menu labeled
              When visiting other websites
From that menu, select either Allow or Ask.
    b. If you still get the alerts, then go back to the Flash Player preference pane and select the Advanced tab. Click Check Now. Quit and relaunch the browser.
    c. If the alerts still persist, triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    /System/Library/CoreServices/CoreTypes.bundle/Contents/Resources
Right-click or control-click the highlighted text and select
              Services ▹ Open
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open. Inside it, there should be a file named "XProtect.meta.plist". If that file is missing and you know why it's missing, restore it from a backup or copy it from another Mac running the same version of OS X. Otherwise, reinstall OS X.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. In the Finder, select
              Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.
    Step 5
In the Safari preferences window, select the Advanced tab and uncheck the box marked
              Stop plug-ins to save power
    Step 6
Open this folder as in Step 4:
    /Library/Internet Plug-Ins
Delete the following item, or anything with a similar name, if present:
              Flash Player (failing).plugin
You may be prompted for your login password.
    Step 7
Re-download and reinstall Flash. Download it from the domain "get.adobe.com". Don't click a link from any other website, including this one, because you can't trust links. They may be an attempt to trick you into installing malware masquerading as Flash. Type the address into the browser window. Never download a Flash update from anywhere else.
    Step 8
If you get a "missing plug-in" error, select
              Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Security
from the Safari menu bar and check the box marked
              Allow (or Enable) plug-ins
    Then click the button marked
              Manage Website Settings...
if present and make sure that the website is not blocked for Flash.
    Step 9
    Select
              Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Extensions
from the Safari menu bar. If any extensions are installed, disable them.

  • I am unable to update my Adobe Flashplayer.  It refuses to accept my password, but it's the same password I use to log on to Adobe.  What gives?

I am unable to update my Adobe Flashplayer.  It refuses to accept my password, but it's the same password I use to log on to Adobe.  What gives?

When you install or update software you will often be asked for permission to change the system. This will need your computer's administrator password, chosen when the computer was switched on the very first time. It is nothing to do with the Adobe password.
